Hi,
I have a T-Mobile MDA UNLOCKED, i have upgraded it to Windows Mobile 2003 official ROM from T-Mobile. It was working fine. Now all of a sudden it keeps searching for the network but doesn't regiser and doesn't give an error. What might have happened?
I tried hard restting it, soft boot everything it's not getting any signal
I left it for a while without charging it, if that might help.

It is possible that the original owner reported the phone lost!
so the IMEI is in blacklist!

I can't seem to connect to my 3 network. In the strength meter on top, theres a ! sign. And there is no service for current network. When i try to find network manually, theres no 3 service.
Is my dopod 838pro bricked? It was working fine until it hanged and after i soft reseted it, it can't connect to the network anymore.
Is there any way i can fix it? I have just updated all the ROMS and Radio roms and am running wm6.

Hmmm... have you read the Sticky thread on bricks? This sounds like a problem I have seen in there. Probably easy to fix - first try flashing back to where you started. Read through the sticky - it will help you.

How long ago did you flash? Did it never work after flashing or did it work for a day, a week...? Need more info. I assume you verified that the SIM isn't the problem?
yes i have read the brick thread and have tried flashing it again but it didn't seem to work. i've also re-did the radio ROM as well.
I flashed and upgraded to wm6 after the network problem and it still doesn't seem to work.
I don't think it's the sim problem as it works with my other phone SE k800i. But i'll try changing the sim card and get a new one on monday.
I'm leaving the option of sending it to Teleplan as a last resort as it is quite a hassle to send the dopod all the way to sydney when i'm situated in Perth.
Anyone know a service center for dopod in Perth?

i'm not sure but when i use my optus sim card, it seems to work. but not with my 3 sim card.

Try starting up your phone with no sim card and see what happens, I think have the same problem, I can't use any other radio than 1.16, and even that may have problems. If I use any other radio roms, I get no service, and if I take out my sim, it doesnt even realize that there is no sim, it says no service, and also the phone will freeze on the today screen with half the plugins loaded.
BTW what radio are you using?
I get the same error with my 3 sim and the .41 radio rom.

I tried to upgrade the software to add Blackberry connect.
The installation got to 2% then crashed.
I dont appear to be able to do anything now the screen is red, green, blue and white stripes now showing USB at the bottom.
Is there anyway I can get this sorted?

i assume you tried a rom upgrade (to WM6). In that case, just try again, seems like your mobile lost the connection. I had the same problem while upgrading, so i just started the upgrade again from my pc and it worked.

I cant do anything on the phone. I am just getting the screen as described above.
The screen you describe is the bootloader screen. From there you can re-install windows mobile. Read through the threads in the Athena mobile 6 sub-forum for advice on how to do this, if you have never done it before.
If your Athena is not sim AND cid unlocked, you will need to find a copy of the original rom for your phone - available on this forum.
If you have already cid unlocked it, stick one of the Athena project roms onto it.

i m using Imate Jasjam (hermes100). i am having a problem with network signals. its just network shows dummy signals. cant make or receive calls.
it all happened when i upgraded it to WM6. i used Hard SPL v9. the rom upgrade was ok. except that it stuck at 100% and gave a message to recover. but the rom upgrade become successful. after that i was having issue of this annoying radio prob. i used radio 1.54.30.10 after that i m using 1.54.07.00. but no change is noticed.
when the radio stops working, i change the 3G setting at Comm manager to auto mode than to GSM mode an it failed to register to network and showed "No service"

This is a very well documented problem with hermes. More and more people are starting to have this problem now.
I had the same problem and I got a new phone under warranty.
Most likely it is a radio hardware problem and probably you will need to have the motherboard changed.
If phone is still under warranty, just get it repaired by HTC. If not then you are probably out of luck.

that is very odd.
my hermes is working perfectly ok except the radio. it has never been bricked. i have flashed it many times. tried all versions of Hard SPL. tried many roms. tried many radio roms. everything installs to the last dip.
but still no success regarding radio signal problem.
i have noticed that when one sim stops showing network, i put other sim having other network coberage and it works. but jus for 10 to 12 hours. after that i have to change it back. and it works for 10 hours. but it really getting me on my nerve
please share if helpful to me.
PLEASE ADVISE ME if i get my Hermes fixed by changing its mother board, should i go for WM6 and newer radio or not.

recently I've bought 8525.
But I live outside US so i needed to unlock my device.
I've downloaded "HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a"
and have flashed my 8525 using an microSD card.
Everything went OK, then after flashing I've launched unlocker .exe. on my device and ulocked SIM and CID.
Then I've placed my SIM-card but it won't search for any network (It continues to search and search.
What should I do in this matter?
I'm running MS Vista, so I'd be glad if U suggest me to flash using an micriSD card.

ONLY thing to try is to either install ORIGINAL SHIPPED STOCK ROM or the ORIGINAL SHIPPED RADIO ROM. Doing anything else may permanently brick your device. This is not guaranteed to work as the radio rom is a cantankerous SOB and seems to be the achilles heel of the Hermes. In laymen's terms, radio dead, not recoverable in most cases...

Hi, first time i have ever had a problem with a Hermes device.
I have a Vodafone VPA version, and i have flashed "Schap's 4.31" WM6 PRO fine, like i have on many other devices in the past.
It is actualy a phone i was just sent back from someone on eBay because there was no network signal on any sim provider at all. I had unlocked it before i sent it but he has obviously done somthing to it.
So now, i can re-flash the rom fine, but i can not CID unlock it at all.
It gets to that point and give me the ERROR [262] message.
I am using "v3a by pof" to do the CID unlocking.
I have looked at the device infomation (as i can go on to windows just fine) and i do not have an IMEI number or a Radio version or a Protocol versioni number.
I think i basicaly need a Radio Rom upgrade/flash to fix it? But i can not seem to do it.
Is it somthing to do with bad blocks?....
I am dual booting Vista & XP from my laptop and have tried on both OS.
Any help would be amazing.
Update:
It also show "NO GSM" on boot along with the SPL info.
It also has HardSPL & flashing from memory card is freezing at the GSM stage also.
Why wont it let me flash a Radio to it? Its driving me crazy!

Your hermes is likely the hardware is broken, I suggest you get it repaird.

Hmmm, that is a possibility.
But i have seem many people with the same issue and have been able to fix it.
I have been trying to wipe some settings using MTTY.exe
However, where is should be saying USB>

I have looked through the wiki but still no luck.
Anyone else know how to fix this?
