Have you tried a hard reset?
Are you sure, you do not have an hardware problem? Normaly you enter the bootloader by pressing power button and making a soft reset. Maybe this switch is blockated by anything....
HTH
Stefan

yes i don´t think its a hardware problem because nobody touched it during the week of my holiday but i´ll go to the shop tomorrow looking they will say

oh and yes i did a few hard and soft resets... no effect... he only doesnt boot windows the bootloader starts but there i can only do selftests

please can any one tell me how to fromat Qtek 1010?? thanks in advance

XDA won't start
Dear forum users,
I own a XDA I, which is sold as PCT 206 in Turkey. The original OS is ppc 2002
I also have the same problem on my XDA 1. I used up the battery to the end and after plugging the charger I got the bootloader screen.
At that time a had a cooked rom ppc 2003.
I tried to flash from SD to the original ppc 2002 but I still get the bootloader after soft and/or hard resetting.
Does somebody have an idea.
Best regards.

Sounds like the power switch may be stuck if you are entering bootloader from soft reset.

same trouble

by the way... i have no more access to setup options at start... any idea about how to fix this?
Is there a way to access to RAM using IR or USB without init windows CE thanks a lot

lambertoh, you have a different problem, you need to reflash your phone using sd card method again, it might be helpful to try a different memory card.

Tmobile stuck on the Startup PW10B1!!!

I have a Unit PW10B1 T-mobile stuck on the T-mobile boot screen, anyway I found out “GSM ERROR” in the boot loader, any suggestion or a way to fix it, I have a working o2 mobile, I’m not aware of the battery I could replace it from the other unit and recharge it…so pls give me feedback it’s very important to me, thank you.
If you can't access the device through active synce to try flashing the RSU, then you can do nothing except trying hard reset ... if it doesn't solve it it's better to send it to repair

Hello Biso, I can't access the device through the active sync, I tried Hard reset as well same problem the Unit stucks on the boot screen and the light flashes every like 5 seconds... about the repair center here in leb it's impossible there's no techis could solve this problem.. Isn't another way to do something to this unit ?
Unfort. NO, I couldn't find anyway to flash the RSU through SD ... the only option if you can pass the boot screen is to copy the RSU upgrade 4 files through SD card to the \windows\starup directory and soft rest
I'll try to get in I have nothing than just to let this unit works :
Anyone here consider to say something here for help ?
I'm still stuck thus I tried the Volume buttom to enter the today screen no luck as well ,but I noticed there's an Infrared connection btw my pc and the xda but active sync cannot connect to it, But I could send a files to the Xda like now am sending a .cab file I know it's not gonna make any diffrence but still maybe someone consider some help here.........
Someone would like to help here ?
Its not much good sending a file if you cant access and execute it on the xda, you have probably realised by now that "gsm error" is likely to be fatal to your xda. There is a person on this forum called Cgigate, he lives in Canada and can fix it, dont know the charges though so you need to ask him. I think he most likely writes direct to the chip through the address lines on the chip legs probably using a jtag interface and software.

Yes I could transfer any file I want to the Xda but still I can't do anything to it I can't reach it thus it's not an auto installer... Thus the screen is freezed on the T-mobile image, I tried the Volume buttom to enable the today screen still no luck as well :?
Ok.
So you think, with auto installer it could work. There has been a little how to about creatind an SD card with auto installer to start the RSU Upgrade. This would be the last posibility you can try to fix your device...

Then you should be able to reflash your device via SD-Card....

I tried hard reset also, it didn't help at all, only white screen comes up. I found I mis-used the ET180 bootloader instead of the 5.15 for 686, the bootloader is definitely gone.
Kitngan....is it hard to change the ROMs, like what it described in this forum, using the Microwave Oven to melt it ? I think this is just too risky.
Do you know how to change it ?
Thanks

Stuck in bootloader mode

After I tried to downgrade my Qtec2020 from WM2005 tot WM2003SE the updated stoped in stage 1.
This is what I found in the RUULog.log file:
19:15:11 Connection with Serial
19:16:31 Begin stage 1
19:17:01 CE Erase retry 1
19:17:31 CE Erase retry 2
19:18:01 CE Erase retry 3
Now I am stucked in bootloader mode and tried softreset, hardreset, special WM2005 hardreset but nothing seems to work. I have only a grey screen with Serial v1.02 on it.
Is there anybody who could help me
I've never performed any downgrades from WM5.0 but I have an idea that could work?
Install WM5.0 again, then perform a Hardreset but this time perform the Registry and Storage format (press power+record+camera+reset pin for about 5 seconds and you should see a menu on the screen, by using the record button to select an option and camera button to change to YES. It should be NO, YES, YES and press ACTION button to save changes). Then unhide the Extended ROM and erase anything in there.
Then perform the downgrade to WM2003SE.
I hope this works for you...
Regards,
Rayan
Thanks for the information but it's not the solution.
I tried to install WM5 again but I get an error 112 during the install.
The RUULog.log file:
20:42:03 Connection with Serial
20:43:26 Begin stage 1
20:43:56 CE Erase retry 1
20:44:26 CE Erase retry 2
20:44:56 CE Erase retry 3
The device is still stuck in bootloader mode. All the reset actions won't work (soft, hard, special)
Have you tried the upgrade/downgrade method using an SD card instead of the cradle/pc?
No I only tried it by USB/PC. I will search the forum for how to do this and give it a try. I will let you know later if this is the solution. Thanks for the information so far.
Regards Marco
I search the forum but can't find any way to do this. Can someone tell me how to flash by SD card

Hi, I was just upgading my XDA 2 os when my laptop froze in the middle of the upgrade! Now it only has the o2 startup screeen it won' turn off or connect to my computer to complete the upgrade. What can I do?
Is my Xda gone for good??
skud try aggain
you can put it back in bootloader mode and try aggain
this time on a destop you know power problem in laptop
you will not want a power failure in the middle of an upgrade
hope thats helped
Stuck on Bootloader
I experienced the same thing too.
Just detached battery from your device for about 10 minutes (I pressumed, may need more time)... then do the downgrade again.
in your PC task manager ''end process'' the ff:
''wcescomm.exe''
''WCESMgr.exe''
''rapimgr.exe''
now connect again the device and start the reflash...it works for me.
hope this wl help you...
No joy I'm afraid. How can I get it back in bootloader mode when I can't get past the O2 startup screen. Putting in an sd card Doesn't do anything either it is completely dead except for the annoiying but colorful O2 Logo.
Ok, it just turned itself off so I am after turning it back on andnow all I have is a white screen! What is going on? The laptop crashed when it was at 65% in the upgrade proces.
I'll give this taskmanager thing a go and get back to ya.
Thanks for all the help btw!
I have placed a ROM.nb1 on my SD card, but I get a eror with the XDA OS Image Tool. It looks that I can't find any way to get out of the bootloader mode whatever reset I tried. The battery was out for almost 12 hours but this also makes no difference. Is there a other way to flash by SD card or is there a way to reset/upgrade the bootloader mode. I think the bootloader mode hangs or is corrupt.
Regards Marco
I've tried that now and it still won't connect and still the same white screen! Any othere suggestions? Is there anything I can download which would force a connection or install something onto my XDA or does anyone know how I can get past this blank screen and maybe get to the settings window?
This must have happened other people anyone managed to fix this?
:!: :!:
hey power kite! It seems we got similar problems but your a bit ahead in getting it fixed. Can you tell me where you got the Rom.nb1 file so I can give this XDA tool thing a go?

Great that it worked for you.
I did procedure 1, 2 and 3 but I'm still stuck in bootloader mode. Every upgrade WM2005, WM2003SE wich I have flashed before give me an error 112. I have flashed my SD card but I don't get any instructions on my screen.
Is it possible to install the bootloader again or upgrade it. I think my problem is the bootloader.

Blank bootloader...am I screwed?

I have searched and searched these forums and have seen several other people with this problem but no solution. I have also looked through the wiki to no avail, so if someone can give me an answer I would really appreciate it.
I have been able to get into the bootloader screen (the r-g-b white stripes) however there is NO text (no serial, no usb) on the screen and it is not recognized by any pc. Can't get any response from mtty.exe because it can't see the USB port. Have tried on multiple PC's...
Is there another way to resurrect this athena or is it DOA?
Thanks,

Yes, tried the hard reset (camera + reset) the alternate reset (comm + camera + reset) and even the other reset (volume slider + camera + reset). And yes, I was pushing down firmly on the camera button.
Each reset brings me to the tri-color bootloader screen with NO text. No model number, no OS version, no "USB" / "Serial"....just the red-gree-blue-white stripes.
I have looked extensively at all the forums, used the google search for the site and combed the wiki with no luck.
So do you think it is a lost case?

I was trying to load a new ROM but I assumed that I had to use the OliPro unlock first.
Got to the radio flash and that is where it crapped out.
Now that I have read a little more carefully it looks like I don't need to use the OliPro beyond the first step for the stateside unlocked 7501.
Thanks,

when your on bootloader ? does windows detect a usb generic device ?
Nope. Tried 3 different PCs. Shut down all the activesync processes. No luck. No detection that anything is cabled to the advantage.
I am thinking that it is warranty time.

Key rule to remember is to always make sure the Advantage is Fully charged. Try charinging it and reflashing it with the factory rom, located here. http://www.america.htc.com/download/RUU_Athena_HTC_US_2.19.453.4_105_1.47.51.00_Ship.exe. Keep us posted and let us know how it went
have you removed the sim and memory card
just checking basics
try that with a full charge and then enter bootloader and connect to usb
Thanks for all the help! I gave up and warrantied a new unit where I WAS successful in loading a new ROM.
I have learned several valuable lessons in the ROM upgrade process. This was on an advantage 7501, unlocked, USA version. I did the upgrade the process with the OliPro 3.0 unlocker, the PK Rom 3.0 and vista pro (32bit):
- Make sure that you have NOT customized your athena/advantage beyond the basic calibration and cut/paste walkthrough.
-Download ONLY THE MOST RECENT VERSION OF THE OLIPRO UNLOCKER. CHECK TWICE TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE LATEST.
-You MUST let step one of the Unlock complete. With the latest version this will make a bricked Advantage practically impossible.
-Go through step 2 & 3 even if you don't think you need this. It will upgrade the radio and give you peace of mind if you are updating to the PK rom.
-Don't panic if you complete step 1 and goof step 2/3. You can recover. But if you screw up the initial SPL unlock in step1...it is not going to be pretty.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for everyones advice!

[Q] HD2 Bricked??? after task29

hello folks,
first off thanks to all the people who help make this forum better and better.
have used you're help a few times especially trying to flash a rom. but now there's a problem... I've installed artemis Rom a couple of times but I wanted the newest so I've downloaded it, flashed my hd2 with task29 like always. pressed vol. down button it restarted until white boot screen. ok, possible, so I reset it and press vol. down again. but still white boot screen. after trying it for 70(!) times. I used the forum. saw that maybe hooking it up to pc and starting custom rom .exe should work. but no. wont even start when hooked to a computer. so please help!
Info:
Cotulla hspl 1.42.00
Task29 by dooloop performed( got stuck after that)
Rom Artemis. 31.5 (current) 35.1 (wanted to install.
Thanks In Advance

Two possibility's;
Tray to do a hard reset,
Ore tray to install Stock Rom!
tried hard reset. (pulled out battery waited 20 sec. then put it back in. pressed vol. down and power button.) didn't work for 30 times...
have put leoimg.nbh on sd card. but can't get to the tri-colour bootloader so can't install anything...
Thanks for you quick response by the way.
If I get into bootloader there should be no problem but I can't get there :S
I'm out off Idea; tray to send Sir Sternas a PM with your question, maybe he get some Ideas; ore tray to ask this question on the Artemis Thread, there are also helpful peoples out there!
Edit; I just add your question on the Artemis thread!

you haven't made hard reset. if you wont to do hard reset you have to press both volume buttons and then pres power buton ( or press red button near batery ).
also try to make a goldimage ( search the forum ).

That I didn't see/read it correctly the way he did a hard reset??
I think it is HSPL 1.42 or an old RADIO-ROM.
System specs for Artemis are SPL 1.66 or above and RADIO 2.07.51.22_2 or above.
Install newest Stock ROM with the mentioned versions or flash HSPL and RADIO manually.

What´s the size of your SD-Card? Flashing from SD works only with max. 8 GB - Card, 16 GB or more won´t work! (Own experience!)
Can you connect your device to ActiveSync? Or otherwise stated: What happens when you connect your device to your PC? Does ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center even startup?
BTW, what happens when you start your device now? Does it hang or just load your old Artemis version??

Hi Uli,
the poor man cannot enter bootloader mode and, as I understand from his posts, not connect to his PC. So how can he flash HSPL and/or Radio? There must be something fundamentally wrong with his device, but I also had a similar problem a few weeks ago and, although it took a lot of time, I managed to get it to work again.
BTW, as I already mentioned SPL 1.42 is not the problem.

Hey guys,
maybe you haven't read my whole posting: Have you tried to get access to tricolor bootloader without pluged in SIM and SD?
If you had trouble with your answer button before flashing, is it possible your volume button is also without function? Therefore it seems to be a hardware problem.
Sorry, if this is not the answer you would like to read, but the advise to test without pluged in SIM and SD is my last. Entering bootloader is a basic system feature, as far as I know.
Best regards,
Uli

As I already mentioned, this poor guy has a major problem with his device, which seems to be hardware related (either volume down button does not work or the on/off key). After having extensive contact with him by phone, the only solution seems to be to bring it back to the store to let it repair. Unfortunately, he will have a great chance to loose his warranty, because HTC probably will be able to found that there is another ROM installed. Whish Maarten good luck with his problem!! Also very sorry I could not help you to solve your problem. I'm personally very disappointed by that!
