MP3 Ringtones Not Working. Pocket DivX is the problem - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Have been most annoyed with this, have downloaded the EnglishMP3SetRingtone.CAB but it still wasn't allowing me to use MP3 files.
Did a hard reset, loaded the EnglishMP3SetRingtone.CAB & it worked fine. Reloaded software one by one & when I got to Pocket DivX it stopped playing MP3s again. Uninstalled DivX but couldn't get it to work again.
Now when I installed DivX i allowed it to assign itself to mp3 files, maybe that was the problem.
I tried removing & re-installing EnglishMP3SetRingtone.CAB but the only way to get it back again was to hard reset.
So this might be the problem for some of you others, or maybe it's various media player that try to associate themselves with mp3s? Be interested to know of any other experiances here now you know what to look for.

Reminder issues

I've got PK3 Dual installed - and have had since it came out - but recently I've been having issues with notifications and ringtones. I have no problems with those notifications set as WAVs, but if I try a WMA sound I get nothing. The same with ringtones, MP3 seems OK now, but WMA doesn't work. Some won't play at all, selecting others results in a message box that the file is corrupted - but it isn't. It plays fine in Windows Media.
At one point I thought it was down to file associations with other players. At that point I was having issues with both MP3 and WMA sounds, and no other software was associated, although they had been. I renebaled MP3 and WMA in CorePlayer, quit, ran again and disabled them then soft reset and MP3 sounds started working, but not WMA. Then I went to TCPMP and did the same for WMA only. At first, that worked - suddenly WMAs worked again so I set a WMA sound as my main reminder. Then I went into phone options and tried to set a WMA ringtone, but it wouldn't and now the WMA reminders don't work anymore either. I didn't run TCPMP in the meantime, but did try Windows Media to test a couple of the WMA files that wouldn't work as ringtones.
I'm stumped - I've even looked through the registry and not seen anything amiss other than WMAs have an EventHandler subfolder in HKCU and WAVs don't.
What's most annoying is that I got it working and then literally two minutes later it didn't.
Anyone able to shed some light on this? If not, I'll have to try a hard reset. Either that or change all my sounds to WAVs and MP3s.

Media player that works with dcd's titan ROM 3.3.4?

Ever since I installed dcd's titan ROM 3.3.4 I've been having problems playing videos, even the ones taken by the phone, in the built in media player.
I tried downloading the CODEC cabs, what ends up happening is the media player starts for a sec then crashes.
I tried installing tcpmp media player, it crashes on install.
I tried installing Coreplayer, it plays a video with no video, just sound.
Anyone having success at all?
I don't have a problem with WMP + 3.3.4, but I also don't use it too often. Coreplayer works fine, go into Tools>preferences>video and change video output from QTv to Raw Frame Buffer (GDI and Direct Draw seem to work too). While you're at it, tools>preferences>advanced change the manual a/v offset to -400 (this will put the audio and video in sync). Enjoy!
Where can I get a good cap for coreplayer that works with this rom? Are you also sure that WMP works right off the bat with this rom? I tried it twice already reflashing and still the same, doesnt work.
Anyone? I dont understand why it doesnt work right off the bat..
The only videos I watch on my phone are what I've downloaded from YouTube in .flv format and they play fine using the fixed cab of TCPMP and the YouTube package.
I don't have time to look them up on here so here's a link to the cabs I have on my SD card. They might be out of date but it's what I have installed and seems to work, at least for YouTube videos.

Has the problem with WMP been solved? I have the same problem.

mp3 problem...

Hi folks,
My Hero runs on 2.1.
I've recently moved some music onto my phone but no matter what I do, the mp3s are not detected by either the stock mp3 player or MixZing player. When I access the actual mp3 files through Linda file manager and open them using MixZing, they play, but I get an error about tags missing.
After seeing this error, I've downloaded a couple of different tag editors and made sure every single field (i.e. genre, artist, etc.) was filled out properly. Still, the problem remains: no mp3 player on the Hero detects these mp3 files.
Anyone run into this problem before and know the fix?
Thanks!
Problem solved. The way windows media player synced the files was not good. I replaced them manually in a different folder and, presto.
Mods, you can close or delete this.

[Q] Audio not working over HDMI entertainment center

Hey guys,
so i just tried to play a video i recorded on my Atrix over HDMI with the entertainment center and i couldnt get any audio. even music wasn't working.
Im running 4.1.57 rooted with no mods.
any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks
still having this problem?? i had it briefly but after trying a few different videos it started working again not sure what was causing this problem hope it is not a recurring problem.
this will happen often if you copy files from your PC instead of syncing them through Windows Media.
It should work EVERY time if you sync them correctly through WM though.
I've had problems with certain formats of video. What formats are you using?

I tried a mp4 and also vids which i took on the atrix itself, which are 3gp
if you use WM to sync movies to the device it will change then to .wmv format, which the device has no issues playing, not sure how to patch codecs to make other formats work all the time, but syncing through WMP seems like the easiest route for now.

I dont think its an issue with the format or coding, i say this because the audio from mp3 files are not working either. I used to be able to play most things fine before i updated. But i have recently flashed and updated to retain root and i feel something got messed up along the way.
I guess ill wait for the next update to release and hopefully that will fix the prob, if not i will just install the webtop mod and see if that helps.
