TomTom5 and Bluetooth headset issue - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Hi folks,
Greetings from Italy.
First of all congratulations for this web site and thanks to all people who share their info's with others.
Problem: I use a Qtek 2020 with his original latest ROM 1.75.04ITA, radio 1.14.00, with a Logitech BT headset . This configuration works fine, and I can make/receive phone calls without any problem. I also have installed TT5 with a BT GPS Leadtek device and it works fine, BUT I can't hear TT5 vocal instructions in my BT headset! The voice from TT5 is only available on Qtek speaker.
If I receive a phone call during TT5 usage, the phone call is correctly diversed on my BT headset, on TT5 screen appears an icon showing 'Vocal instructions suspended' (but the graphic instructions are ok) and at the end of phone call the vocal instructions start again.
Note that using wired headset all works perfectly.
How can I hear these vocal instructions into my BT headset?
I know using Nokia 7710 with identical configuration it works fine, why using Qtek isn't?
Pls help me! It's is very important, because I'm an ambluance driver, and this function should be VERY useful for us in our job.
I'm availabe to all modifications: i.e. change ROM, change BT stack (but I'm not able..need instructions..), change WinMobile version... whatever you want if it can be the solution!
The only thing I don't want is to buy another device or a BT adapter.
Thanks,
Valerio

Hands-Free in 2003SE on Himalaya

I've tried several of the SE roms floating aroung the forums with my I-mate and finally setteled with the translated 2.20.07CHS one.
This rom obviously has Hands-free profile implemented to some degree, I bond my Bluetrek-G2 with the phone, and a long keypress on the G2 properly invokes the "Last call redial" feature of Hands-free.
My question is: to what extent is the hands-free profile implemented? Specifically I'm interested to know whether the "Caller ID" feature is implemented, so that headsets with built-in LCD displays for caller ID (e.g. Sony-Ericsson HBH-660 and the upcoming Jabra BT800) can be put to full use.
Any experience regarding this issue?
I saw some review/post from people with caller ID bt Headset
saying that is working fine , with the caller ID with the 2.20 CHS ROM
Were those posts on any of the XDA-DEVELOPRS forums?
NO, I saw them @ some chinese forum
which few model of caller ID Bt , working fine
"peoples say"
Here is my experience with an XDAII and a SE HBH-660
With ROM 2.02.t1, can setup the HBH-660 as a handsfree device, caller id works great, but the mic on the headset does not work at all!
With ROM 2.06, can only setup the HBH-660 as handset device, so clearly caller id does not work here, but at least the mic on the headset works!
Haven't tried 2.20, got tired of reflashing and hard-resetting my device after trying every steps suggested in the forum, even merging the 2.02.t1 and 2.06, which still has the same problem as the 2.02.t1 ...
Currently sticking to ROM 2.06 and using Pocket Bluetooth Tools 1.10. At least I can redial from the HBH-660, answer calls and transfer calls back and forth between the HBH-660 and the XDAII ...

You may have a look at this thread to see how to turn on the Handsfree on ROM 2.06
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=14386
Tried that as well ... got even worse results, sometimes the headset works and sometimes it doesn't ... have embarassed myself in front of people by wearing the headset on my left ear and still putting the phone to my right ear ...
skuld, I suggest you try 2.20.07CHS, it is the most stable 2003SE out there, and Bluetooth works great for me using the Handsfree profile (sound only comes out of the headset and the headsets' mic is operational).
I intend to purchase the Jabra BT-800 as soon as it is released and hope toi take advantage of full Handsfree functionality with it finally.
If you do decide to upgrade to 2.20.07CHS, please let me know if caller id works for you with your HBH-660.
so?
So, basicallly, the non-chinese speakers, are stuck with non fully working BT profiles, since handsfree option identifies every headset as hansdfree, and then the problem with the "stereo" effect appears.
In my case, both (device and XDA) mics and both speakers work simultaneously either in SE HBH 35 headset or BT Carkit.
Can please confirm 2.20 version solves that totally?
Any idea on why it has not been released in WWE?
2.20 indeed solves this problem, I'm currently running 2.20 for several days with no problems, the translation to English provided by Buzz is impressive and comprehansive. I don't speak a work of Chinese yet have no problems using my device, I have yet to come up with a Chinese message-box/notification of any kind. Bluetooth works flawlessly with my Bluetrek G2 using Hands-free profile.
Ummm..
Will give it a chance.
Keep me informed should you find any other problem using this version.
yes so far so good
2.2 is a offical OS ROM for dopod 696 , which the same hardware as xda2
so it is working fine with the caller ID & bt sound
Anyone can provide me the complete REG file of 2.20CHS?

I converted the reg file from default.fdf of the ROM, but it seems to be incomplete when I compare it against 2.02 and 2.06.
I understand that Kinglee uploaded the PHM reg backup file. Can someone give me a hint how I might convert that file to a text readable format?

I can confirm that 2.20 uses different bluetooth DLLs than 2.02 or 2.06.
After configuring BT headset, the user is prompted with BTBond_UI.exe screen with checkbox for headset/handsfree enabled, and greyed out checkbox for ActiveSync, Dial-up Networking and Serial.
There is quite a number of differents in the registry settings as well.
I think I just about manage to port 2.20 BT over to 2.06 (or 2.02 for that matter).
However, I need you guys to give me pointers on a couple of things:
(a) for handsfree profile - can 2.20CHS users enable the handsfree profile and use only the headset microphone to speak to the recipient?
(b) what about current 2.02 users?
(c) What can 2.20 CHS users do with their current BT settings? Please describe what you are allowed to do.
- No merry christmas present...hopefully, there's one for happy new year, aye? -
can someone post the file BTBond_UI.exe i need to try it on 2.02t version
BTHFP
Ok here's the skinny.
On 2.06 got BT HandsFree profile to pickup and end calls via headset with stereo audio but headset mic still off (Xda II mic on).
Anyone got the headset mic to work?
Need 2.20 registry to understand how BTBond_UI.exe and other *.dll works.
I posted blue tooth mic not responding to voice input topic a couple of days ago, from responses I got ... I decided to upgrade from 2.02 to 2.20 CHS, (it's a good upgrade it's got WMP 10 but no letter recogniser or transcriber input ??).... but alas G2 BT would still not respond to voice.
Then I had an idea..... I went back to the the 1.72 ROM (radio 1.17) and guess what ? The G2 blue trek headet now works Not really what you'd call progress....... but a fix !!
I would like to upgrade back to WM2003SE, but I have no idea what combination of ROM software will deliver the latest features of the upgrade plus the full functionality for the bluetooth device ??
So anybody out there know what combination works ??

Are you saying under 1.72 your G2 is able to enable HandsFree profile perfectly? What BT driver did you use Bro?
Steady...... I am just a beginner at this !!!
What I am saying is that with the 1.72.00 WWE ROM the G2 now works i.e I can hear through it and when I speak into it I can be heard. Pressing the button on the headset picks the call up and ends the call. What it doesn't do with this level of software is last number redial.
As for the BT software I have no idea what I am running ? Is there a way of finding out ? The 1.72 update was from the 02 site.
I have downloaded the 3500 BT patch and was wondering about upgrading back to 2.20.07 CHS + the patch and see if that works. Thoughts ? But I need the letter/Transcriber input and I am not sure where you get those and how to add them to the XDA2.
BTHFP
I am running both the WM2003SE MSBT and BC/WC 3500 BT on my Xda II.
Probably you are referring to the HeadSet profile Bro. We're discussing about the HandsFree profile - correct me if I am wrong.

Bluetooth Stacks for O2 XDAII running Sin's WM2003SE Build

Hi,
Can anyone point me to some working Bluetooth Stacks for the XDAII that will run on the WM2003SE upgrade please.
My matey has upgraded his XDAII using Sin's merged WM2003SE upgrade (worked great for a Vodafone network!) and installed the MS BT Stack however this only gives partial results when using BT.
He is able to use the headset etc without any problems however when he tries to use the XDAII in his BMW (2005 model 320ci, built-in BT) he is getting intermittant results i.e WM2003SE connects with the car and the headest without a problem however there is a delay before the car picks up the phone when its ringing and on most occasions simply drops the call.
I wanted to know what other stacks are out there that may be worth trying, I have downloaded Toshiba's BT stack and the Widcom stack but I don't know of any others...
Advise much appreciated..
Godz
i too would love to know this.
BuMp
Me too! The widcom stack has a useless headset driver as far as I can read..
I installed http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43210 but I am getting out of memory error.. It may be from a XDAIIi??? It also diod a hard reset...
FWIW, to those that have the BMW bluetooth, You will find the first time you make or recieve a call, you have to do it twice. IE dial the number, it will not connect, then redial and it works.
Same when you get a call, answer, it wont connect, then answer a second time and it will connect.
After the first call, it will then work as you would expect.
If you dial directly from the phone it will tranfer to the car kit, but not until the other party actually answers, you wont hear the ringing of the phone.
The big frustration is that although you get sound from the car speakers, I think its only the microphone in the phone that is working. So the other party may have trouble hearing you if your phones in a brief case or your pocket.
Hope that helps

Headset & Handsfree Profile: which differences?

Hello everyone,
I have tried the two reg patch by Sin () to add the Handsfree profile to my Qtek 2020 (with WM2003SE). I use the very good Bluetooth headset by Globalsat BTH-808, and I have seen these things:
- When in Headset mode: the blu BT Led on the Globalsat flash one time per second. If one call incomes, an icon on the top bar light on in my Qtek and I can use the Globalsat to answer the call, or I can transfer audio back to Qtek and use it to answer the call.
- When in Handsfree mode: the blu BT Led on the Globalsat flash three time per second (awful). An icon noticing the HF Profile is ever on the top bar (with or without a call incoming, and this is not good, i think). If one call incomes, I can use at the same time the Globalsat or the Qtek (audio comes out from the Qtek and from the Globalsat).
Where is the good useful way of this? Why do I need the Handsfree profile too? to make voice dialing (adding relative software)? I didn't liked it and I disabled back the HF profile...
Can someone explain to me how the Hadsfree profile is good?
Thank's
facts
Hands free mode is great when using the right OS.
hands free is more robust. It offers caller ID, etc.
Headset will not do caller ID but I believe it may offer better battery life.
Also with your 2.02-2.06, you will notice while in hands free that the mic on the headset does not work, only the one on the phone.. Even though you can hear sound on the headset!!
If I am wrong, please tell me.
One OS that supports Hands free is the 2.20 translated or in original Chinese. But the caller ID is not consistent on some if not all devices. The caller ID will not be displayed if you have already received the call or if it is in your contacts. It also has some bugs when someone calls on the call waiting and you switch over to it, you will loose the sound on both the headset and the phone until you turn off hands free and then back on.
The other OS, 2005, is GREAT with the Hands free and the phone program, no bugs AT ALL with bluetooth and the phone, BUT, the contacts, email and calendar database are different so it will not work with many programs and the memory size is messed up and small.
I am switching back to my 2.20 translated today.
I wish someone wuld fix it.

Hmmm, no... with my device (Qtek 2020, aka XDA II/MDA II and WM2003 SE 2.06) the CallerID works great with either Headset profile and Handfree Profile...

Yes this is real: Headset is more light for battery life cause it lets BT headset to go online only during call incoming...

According to me you are wrong, cause my device have the headset mic working in either Headset and Handfree profile. The only practic difference between the two profiles are that HS goes idle and come online only during call incoming, instead HF is online not stop.

Again... with my device all works fine, but I don't like the headset all time in waiting/online modem with its led blinking speedly and the boring icon on the top bar (so if you miss a call or receive a sms, you see the baloon tooltip to advice you that more than 1 alert are waiting). I don't know about your bugs cause I never tested these cases

I am yet not happy about the WM2003SE 2.06WWE speed on booting and its stability... so I will not go further on with Magneto/WM2005... When I will be able to do, I will buy a new device with Magneto natively working...

Good flashing and have a nice weekend!
The difference between the two right now using WM2k3SE is:
Handsfree allows you to redial the last number using your BT headset (hold headset button for 2-3 secs).
Headset allows to use the BT headset to talk on the phone.
Other than that they don't do anything else with the current OS (at least for me)
tesking
I am using a Jabra BT800 and I have talked to people who are using Erickson HBH200 and HBH660 and one guy who is using an xLive. The people I have talked to using 2.02 or 2.06 or Sin's 2.02-2.06 merge, all said these devices are not having the caller ID working and the Hands Free would give them the stereo affect.
You are the first.
I have tried 2.02, 2.06 and the Sin's combined one. All would not display properly with the caller ID on my BT800. And even with the addition of the reg key, hkey local machine, software, Microsoft, Bluetooth, "HandsfreeProfileOn", I would get the caller ID, only if the number was not in my contacts and it was not already in my call history of the BT device.
I have also tried BT tools, I have tried every patch and tried all the widcomm stuff too.
I am very curious to know what you have for a ROM and any BT additions or patches and I am very interested to know what caller ID BT device you have.
Maybe you misunderstood what I was saying as well, please know that I was talking about caller ID being displayed upon the BT device, not the phone.
One other thing that Hands free does is allows for the possibility of BT activated voice dial. Like the the voicesignal program on my MPX300.
There has to be a hardware specific driver for each device so when you press the button, it transfers the audio and Mic to the BT headset and starts the voice recognition program. Other wise, we would have had BT voice dial on our HTC devices by now. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=15191&start=50
ccrrazzzy
I misunderstood the BT device you're using for caller ID (I don't have such device, I was talking about the phone itself).
As far as redialing using the Headset, I am using the Motorola HS850 and I was able to use it to redial the last number. However I end up turning the Handfree off when I don't need it in order to avoid the Mic issue on the headset. When I paired the headset, I chose headset profile only. When ever I need the handfree capability, I normall go under Start/Settings/Connections/Bluetooth/Devices hold my stylus on the device (HS850) then choose "Set as Hands-free" on the pop menu.

For Crrrrraaaazzzyyy:
Sorry for your device... I can tell you that with the Globalsat BTH-808 (see the ebay link below), it works smooth in headset Profile (1 or 2 seconds and I can answer from the headset button), and it works smooth in Handfree profile (but as I said, i don't like the behaviour): you can buy the headset from here

Have a nice day!
BT
Sorry I was not clearer at first. I was speaking about the caller ID on the BT headset or in a BT car audio system.
Hands free is needed to have features like caller ID on the BT device and voice dial and to be able to scroll through the BT device's caller ID history and make calls from that while leaving your cell phone safely tucked in your briefcase or hip case.
With my MPX300, because it supports BT voice dial through the BT headset, and with my caller ID on my Jabra BT800 BT headset, I can have all the power of my phone on my ear; being able to make calls through the caller ID history and through dialing via voice dial by speaking the phone number OR speaking the contacts name AND be able to see who is calling me, all while my cell phone-PDA is about 30 feet away!
I just wish we had this on the XDAII because I hate my MPX300; small screen and low memory make it useless.
Through the 2.20 OS, I am able to get caller ID functioning somewhat, but I have to disable call waiting. However to get BT voice dial to work, we will need someone to make a driver like the one that is in the MPX300 and use software like FONIX or www.voicesignal.com
Here is how we can make voicedial work on BT.

XDAII-TSM500 and Jabra BT800 incompatibility ???
I cannot use neither the microphone nor the headphone of the BT800 instead of the XDAII for listennig mp3 files or recording notes.
When I use headset mode, I can speak and hear throuhg BT800 and it is possible to use the buttons to answer and hang during a phone calling, but is not possible to dial, see the caller number and other features.
When I use handsfree mode, I can get most of features but the BT800 microphone does not work and I have to use the one of the PDA.
Any way, only it is possible to use the BT800 in phone mode, not in PDA mode. However it works perfectly whit my IPAQ.
Could anybody give me any idea ?
BT
Please read everything.
Again,
With a caller ID device like the BT800, it needs Hands Free mode to work right. 2.02 and 2.06 do not do Hands Free well.
Only 2.20 and 2005 but 2005 has other bugs. In 2.20 you must disable call waiting or live with clicking upon Tools, Hands-Free Off, then Tools, Hands-Free On to resume the sound on the BT headset when you try to switch back to the first call. You will have to do this even if you ignore a call.
2005 works VERY well with BT and the phone but there are other bugs like lack of memory and database not compatible with third party programs.
I am sorry ccrrazzzy
I did not mention I have two other poblems:
One is that I am a beginner whith these machines, less than two weeks working whith them, and some concepts are confusing to me.
The other is, my short english (obvious ?) make me misunderstand things and to explain them is even worse.
I understood that all problems appear using the phone and not using the PDA for listening mp3 files, for example. When I use the BT800 whith my IPAQ 5500 (headset only) works like a wired headphones and I thought that it should work in the same way whith the XDA, forgeting the phone features.
I will try whith 2.20.
Many thanks for your answer and excuse me.
mp3 will not work unless you get http://www.bluetake.com/products/BT420EX.htm or the HP one.
While using Headset profile, in 2.02, 2.06 and 2.20, The BT800 will work but I experienced an 8 or 9 second delay before call is transfered to the headset when someone call me. Calling out is OK.
Hands free and 2.20 is only good way with BT800.
No audio on BT headset on the XDAII, no matter what OS... Like the mono audio on your other pda, it will not work on xdaii.
I am trying the xLive now, will post results. It has built in MP3 player and is BT cell phone Hands free. Only $90.
These will not make you look like you are from outer space
http://www.itechdynamic.com/html/border22.htm
Support HiFi audio, stereo but I doubt they will work on the XDAII.
You could make them work with the widcomm stack but that stack does not work with Hands Free and I forget if it works with Headset.
If this thing had caller ID and worked for sure with the XDAII, I would get it.

Bluetooth headset vs handsfree in WM2003SE???

I am going mad -
before upgrading to WM2003 SE - my bluetrek G2 worked fantastically.
NOW
it sets it up as handsfree device - I hear people through the headset but people only hear me through the mike on the XDA - the bluetrek microphone seems to be "disabled" in handsfree mode.
ANY ideas how to enable the microphone on the bluetek headset so it is in HEADSET mode and not through the microphone input on the XDA ?
I have been looking for an aswer to same problem. Hopefully we can find something together.
Problem solved
When I upgraded to 2003 SE I had three main problems and spent hours trying to solve them:
1) Bluetooth handsfree automatically kicked in - when I needed headset mode - rendered my bluetrek headset useless.
2) e-mail attachments - enormous problems downloading and sending attachments
3) alarm clock - not ringing
I have solved all 3 problems by reinstalling the 2003 se rom using the rom of 2.06 instead of the "merged" rom which was causing me the above three problems - when upgrading be careful and beware of country code errors - I am no expert but I used the rom upgrade of Hery and reupgraded and am happy with the result. Every time upgrading is a dangerous excersise and if you like me just want a machine that works and not really technically minded - beware of upgrading. I was able to but was nervous the whole way through. They say version 2.06 hangs but its been OK for me. I do not have wizcom on my machine but the only bluetooth I use is the headset and for GPS which work with the microsoft bluetooth protocol.
Good luck

Blutetooth Problems in Cyanogenmod 9 For I9100G

HI Wizards
I must inform you for the following
I have installed the latest I9100G nightly - cm-9-20120730-NIGHTLY-i9100g.zip
2 problems are repeat themselves all releases
1. In PC - 'Device Manager' can't recognize device's Bluetooth properly - it says that drives cannot be found (a specific one)
2. In Car - I have a Bluetooth Speaker installed in my car. (Nokia CK-100, if required)
When I make an outgoing call everything works properly both sides are speaking and hearing each other
BUT
When I receive an incoming call device isn't recognize as BT connectivity and I can NOT hear or speak via car's microphone. I must use it as handset.
It is a known issue - I saw much of CM9 for I9100G users that complained this problems
Are there any suggestions to fix it??? Does someone know the source of this problems??????
Police might be caught me speaking without BT speaker and then I will get a report....
Trust'n you... tnx
When receive or dial out, my Nokia BH-102 mono bluetooth v2 works for CM9/CM10, but not Jabra Easycall v3 bluetooth. However music streaming works for Jabra mono headset.
