With the program er2003edit link you can know the language and the operator and change it in order to avoid the country error
But when i change in the downgrade version (2.06) the language and the operator i can't start the upgrade (downgrade) process.

Okay I'm totally lost.
I have 2.20 installed in XDA II, just like you.
I'm pissed, just like you.
Then i have 2.06 from Buzz's website (I can't find it anywhere else).
And when I try to downgrade from 2.20 to 2.06 I get the same error as you do. So far so good.
I changed my 02 operator in the 2.06 to TMOBILE, and it didn't work. Again, so far so good.
But I don't know how and what to change in my notepad. I open the nk.nbf file and I get a zillion weird symbols and the word 02 everywhere
Please help me.

Notepad from PC used only for open devicedata.txt not the OS image (nk.nbf). This file is the result we run himagetdevicedata.exe on the device, which used to know what kind the device we have. (eg: ROM version, languange, extended rom version, etc)
To change operator ID on .nbf, I use ER2003Edit.

Problem with Remover v.1.19.5 (by SK), Cooked ROM

I cooked A.30.09 with Remover v.1.19.5 by SK at Makis and Lumpistefan's kitchen, and although it worked perfectly at the beginning, after my first sync I began receiving the screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
For those searching text, it says (the English parts at least):
Enter unlock code
Time left for this version. <Russian after that>
After I click on OK, the program does not allow me to remove anything.
When I look at the "about" information on the program, it says it is a freeware release, so I'm not sure why any time period would have expired.
I've tried to cook a couple of different A.30.09 ROMS with this, but had the same result, so I don't think it was a corrupt ROM.
Another hint is that when I tried to sync for the first time with Remover opened and working correctly, Activesync had problems syncing the Synchronized Files (probably due to remover.log being opened in My Documents). But upon the next opening of Remover, it gave me the above screen.
Does anyone have any information on this program/error?
Remover Info:
http://s-k.al.ru/wincepdaru.html#remover
Thanks!
Shawn
Can you check if it's really this version?
Hope i didn't get the 2.00 VErsion, cause only 1.xxx are freeware....
Stefan
Stefan,
It looks like you have the right version. This is what it says in the About box for the program:
Remover v.1.19.5

I cooked this ROM at the xda.weblink.net kitchen, if that makes any difference.
By the way, thanks for all of your hard work on this board and with your kitchens. They are valuable resources.
Shawn
I had the same problem as the OP... I couldn't find a way to remove any programs with Remover, and it appeared to be a time-trial lapse (?). Had to re-cook the ROM without Remover in it.

Looks like you are the developer aren't you?

not any different except time limit to 07/07/2005
i not have time make other changes for this program
OK.
Program updated in the kitchen....

Stefan
@S_K: Thx a lot for the new file....
Thanks S_K and Stefan.
I guess the reason Remover ran correctly before my first sync was because the date was incorrect, and was changed during the first sync (to a date after the expiration date). I can't verify that, though, because I never checked the date before syncing.
It is interesting that I have no registry entries for Remover at:
\HKCU\Software\sk
Although, there are entries for CabInstl.
I wonder if it is possible to make this version work so there is no need to cook and flash a new ROM or install the program again, and consume RAM?
Shawn
Have you tried to replace the file?

Replacing the file would indeed solve the problem, but it would also use ~136kB of RAM. 136kB is not that much to sacrifice, but it seems like such a waste since the old version is already in ROM. I was really just interested in seeing if the expiration date was controlled in the registry or file system for a quick fix. If it is hard-coded in the executable, there is no other choice.

Anyone have or know the latest TyTN Rom?

Well the topic says it, what is the latest
unbranded HTC rom?
HTC has not released any official rom upgrade yet. You can find the Dopod rom in the FTP:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Hermes
as always, upgrade at your own risk
Yup, been using that for a while now.
Works pretty well, but I like flashing.
Careful... they arrest you for that! :lol:

Thanks. One more question. What is the serial no. of your TyTN?
Mine is HT625F.
Hi,
I'm new to this site and thinking of purchasing the HTC TytN.
When trying to access the ftp site it asks me for a username and password. What do I use?
Thanks

some body have Chinese Rom Version for Dopod CHT 900? thanks so much
hi, does anyone know if the rom on the ftp site upload section "CHT9000_ENG.exe" will work on a german XDA Trion?....im thinking of buying the trion and i need to reflash it to english and also apply the keyboard hack as this device have the QWERTZ keyboard layout.......also on the instructions when flashing, when the error comes up and it says to re do it again.....do u actually have to start from the beginning as in unplug the device etc etc and plug it back in or can u just execute the file as soon as u get the error?......just want to be ready for this stuff when i get my device......hehe.....thanks in advance.
I've just bought a taiwanese CHT 9000. Does anyone here feels that it is stupid for the manufacturers NOT to make a factory HERMES/TyTN/Trion in ENGLISH Instead of making us going through all the risks and hassle?
COME ON! ENGLISH IS THE MOST COMMON LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD! :evil:
For the record, my CHT 9000 was shipped with the following ROM, which I believe was ONLY for the Taiwanese market: 1.18.751.2 (Traditional Chinese). After all, "CHT" a.k.a. (Chunghwa Telecom - www.cht.c*m.tw) is a Taiwanese(-only?) service provider. No real need here for English anyway. 99.5% of the locals want Chinese anyway and need the fonts for their contacts aand e-mail. I flashed to WWE and added the Chinese (mostly successful) by adding Monster Chinese 5.3 because I use local GPS navigation (Papago R12).
The English ROM found here (1.23.707.1) works okay for me (need to reset every day or two). It pairs up with an i.Tech R35 stereo headset okay (A2DP) but I'm still not sure about sound quality. Need to test more.
The hardware is HERM200. S/N=HT624F2#####
The keyboard's control characters (as seen in pictures if you look closely) are mapped differently. If these Chinese-keyboard CHT9000's shipped with an English ROM, there would most likely be complaints about the keyboard 'not working' properly.
EDIT: Thanks, Qing84.... my keybard is back to normal after a simple registry edit (using TRE v0.90) and a soft reset!
Personally, I can wait for a fix/patch for this. The on-screen keyboard works fine to overcome the mapping difference.
Now that I'm familiar with WM5.0, I _would_ like to revert back to the original ROM to test it out but it's nowhere to be found. Sooner or later, though, a revision will pop up.
-J Cat
Upgraded to the CHT 9000 English ROM, works perfectly so far apart from the different keyboard layout.
This can be fixed by changing some settings in the registry. It restore local language support for sliding keyboard after upgrade to a different language ROM:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty
There is a key called 'Layout' and it is in Decimal
The default value of English ROM is 20409, and Chinese ROM is 20404 (both are in DWORD). The suitable value for German Hermes keyboard is 20407 (132103 in decimal), not 10407 (66567 in decimal). Probably Hermes use 20+country ID (409=WWE, 407=German, 404=Trad. Chinese, etc...) format for keyboard layout value.
Edit at your own risk. It works for mine.[/img]

Thanks for the link fallenczar. This is great news indeed. Is this now officially CID unlocked? Or just a way of forcing a flashing of another ROM?
CAN U please provide with more deatils of how did u do it !!! we all appretiate it hoop that u can say how to upgrade to english waited something like this for a long time THANKS ALOT !!!
Its NOT Cid unlocked, it uses some utilities by itsme to write directly to the NAND flash that the OS is stored in
Is it possible flashing the device fromout the bootloader screen? Or must the device be connected en synched using activesync?
Regards
Vince
Can anyone modify the files to flash radio..I know that if we flash POF's 1.16 Radio of Hermes, it makes the device Super CID..
Tried, but doesn't work...pls others post the results
OK..could flash..one needs to first hard Reset yr PPC, then install cert,rapi cabs, then swith off for 10 sec and reboot, then async run the batch file..works..great discovery..

you cant flash radio like this.
Can someone add the procedure to the wiki and does it mean that now i can flash my english ameo with a unbranded htc athena rom ?
Take it easy friends...it needs to be safe for all to use..
Guys I'm all for progress and this going in the right direction, but it is NOT properly CID unlocked. Be very careful peeps before someone bricks their device!
This is why we have set up the Athena project, to avoid this and get some pro's to help us.
I hope everyone agrees that Midget_1990 should be on board as he is experienced with ROM cooking and the likes for the VGA 3G Universal and is the only xda developer who has showed an active interest in our forum.
if you read the link from arti upgrade you will get the picture,
it could be risky to force OS with this procedure as we all know that there is a problem with athena cutting connection, read this:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298259
if athena cuts and upgrade was not complete, u can reflash with original rom.
another thing, this upgrades only the OS, not radio, ipl spl...etc, AND IT WILL NOT MAKE ATHENA CID-UNLOCKED
i believe we all should join The Athena Project @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311651
there is nothing like SuperCID Athena
I heard from somebody that there was a way to CID unlock an Ameo with the old original radio ROM from T-Mobile. You had to flash back to an early Radio, then you could remove CID lock (or the early radio didnt have a CID lock in it). Then you could flash a normal Athena Radio back into it. He was vague about it but promised to email me the full procedure. He never did.
Is this worth looking into?
thanks to lawbet..now i have a full english version rom...
i first attempt was stucked..but then tried again using hdubli instruction...i`m happy right now untill we get cid unlock...
cheers..

Can you go back to a retail 8525 AT&T ROM after...

Is it possible to go back to an AT&T Rom without problems after (what I think) having SSPL installed? What happened was that I had a retail WM5 on it, then went to VP6's Rom, then found the AT&T official Rom and installed that. If the final comes, and I run it, will I have issues??
Thank you

Sure. You will need to unpack the official HTC rom and put the nbh file in a folder with the custom_ruu. It won't flash using the ruu shipped from HTC, but it is a piece of cake.
You just unrar the exe file and pull the nbh out, drop it in a folder with custom_ruu and you're off.
Thank you

Well, I have never unlocked my Hermes using the code from AT&T. I have always done it via pof's unlocker. Reflashing has never relocked my device or any other that I have seen. So, I think that you are safe.
Also, I believe that the unlock code is calculated using an algorithm based on the IMEI number. So, even if it did relock, the code SHOULD unlock it again.
If all that fails, just use the unlocker that pof made!
Thanks to everyone for their time.
I currently downgraded to SPL-1.06
When I run the retail ROM that is:

I just want to have the ability to update to retail ROM's whenever I can without extracting the exe files and running them manually.
To tell you the truth, I am selling this to a buddy and he's not really computer literate, so I don't want to help him out every second. He needs to upgrade to the retail AT&T ROM for the 8525 once it's out in a month or two. Right now I am giving him the AT&T (beta) rom that I found on this site.
Any help would be appreciate it.

Looks like Vista. Have you checked out MrVanx guide for Vista flashing?
Yes, Vista is working fine for flashing and I've followed that guide and it all works. I've flashed this phone without problems through Vista and ActiveSync for Vista.

[Q] PB81

Anyone, any ideas?
Quite some time ago, when HD2 was brand new, there were some people around with unofficial beta-ROMs on their devices. Don´t exactly know what was going on, but I am quite sure the search function will bring this or that into light for you.
Maybe flashing with a Goldcard might help, not sure. But apparently, your SPL seems to face troubles, no wonder you´ve got freezes etc.
Did you try to flash something older than the 3.14 stock ROM? A lot of users are not happy with this anyway...
Also, older SIM cards or some SD cards can cause issues, did you try to flash without those in the device?
I flashed all three ROMs which are available to download at HTC Website via RUU and direct from SD-Card. I also tried to install all SPL which are available from Bepe and Cotulla. I got the Security Unlocked line away on top but the freezing problems are ongoing as before.
Actual I have two HD2s, both are from same Provider with same SIM-lock but with different SIM-Unlocks. I did a photo of Boot Screen and this shows the difference. I have actual on both last Stock ROM.

And now it becomes really strange. I already flashed the strange phone with Stock ROM from SD-Card so you can see above. After that I did a flash with latest ARTEMIS ROM and SSPL_RUU and the following Boot Screen appears
So before flashing there was SPL 3 on phone, while flashing there was SPL1.42.6666 on phone and after flashing there is SPL 3 again on phone???

Sir, SSPL works only for 1 (one) cycle. After you reboot the phone, your SPL will return to the original one (the one before SSPL).
SPL 1.42.6666 is only a temporary SPL modifying your actual/original SPL.
Cheers
Good, good, good ... but the question is --> How do I come from PB81*** to PB81100?

I forget the link, but I read somewhere in this forum, that PBxxxx represents the region of the phone. I think you flash unsuitable rom. In other words, the rom is not for your phone.
Cheers

As I wrote above (maybe bad english), I flashed both mobiles with latest Stock-Rom (downloaded from htc.com/de) via, SD-card. Both mobiles were sold from same Mobile provider in austria with same SIM-lock. But, they were un-SIM-locked differently. Now, one is working smoothly (the one with PB81100) and one freezes almost (the one with PB81***) and GPS is working really, really badly in comparison to the other one.
EDIT: GPS is completly NOT working on device with PB81*** on Boot-Screen :-(
