Atom Rom Update error "Country Error - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom Software Upgrading

How can teach me how to fixed the prblem is country erro when Update the roo, thanks a lot

Have you tried putting the Atom into bootloader mode? That's the common answer to such problems.

If you trying to upgrade it means you are earasing evrything.
the error that you see now its because of localaizing the unit.
as Mastiff said try put it bootloader and then try to upgrade.
you can try to do HR and then upgrading.
good luck

Mastiff, ZaZuRaz,
thanks u very much you help

Another dead XDA2 after upgrade

I'm hoping you folks can help me out. I have tried to upgrade my XDA2 using the Himalaya_WM2003SE_Upgrade but it keeps coming up with:
"Error 150:ROM UPGRADE UTILITY ERROR.
This ROM upgrade utility does not design for your device.
Please get the proper ROM upgrade utility and try again!"
I've got:
FCC ID: NM8HIMALAYAS
IMEI : 351938002885560
Now the unit just gets to the bootloader "SERIAL, v1.06" until I put it in the cradle and it goes to "USB, v1.06". I ran the upgrade following the instructions to the letter but no joy! Am I using the incorrect upgrade utility as the error message says or am I missing something? Any help to restore my XDA2 will be gratefully received!!!
Thanks again!!
which rom are you tryin to upgrade to and provided by who ???

I'm basically trying to upgrade my O2 PH10B XDA2 to anything that works! It seems whatever I try, it stays on the bootloader screen with either "Serial or USB" on the display depending whether it's in the cradle or not. I can't do anything with it. I've tried to use the "Himalaya_WM2003SE_Upgrade" utility but as I said, it just tells me that this is not corrrect for my device.
HELP!!
Thanks
try to reset your device and run himalaya upgrade again
I tried it soooo many times but I still get:
"Error 150:ROM UPGRADE UTILITY ERROR.
This ROM upgrade utility does not design for your device.
Please get the proper ROM upgrade utility and try again!"
I've even tried the O2 Xda_II_172181_Final utility but I still get the same thing. Why does it say it is not designed for my device when I have an O2 Himalaya? If anyone can help I will pledge my undying admiration and possibly even lay down my life for them if required! (sorry, that should have read "wife", not life!)

Himalaya upgarde failed to win200 se please help to downgrad

Dear friends
I was tring to upgrade my iMate Pocket PC also know as Himalaya with windows2003 SE , while upgrading I faced problems, the upgarde failed and now I am just getting no display and OS too. The only message displayed is
Serial
v1.03
nothing is working please help
bye with regrads,
your unit is still okay; even better that the usb version is showing on the screen. it's simply stuck on bootloader mode. what kind of problems did you encounter resulting in the failed upgrade?
one suggestion i can give before you downgrade is to try and proceed with the upgrade to se. put your unit back on the cradle but don't expect activesync to "recognize" the device. just put it back on the cradle and rerun the upgrade to se.
same thing happened when i upgraded but to wm2005. the screen showed error and the only thing on the screen was the usb version. i simply cradled back the unit and ran the upgrade. worked.
cheers
Hi
Thanks a lot, i tired those steps before and even now I did but its not upgarding I am gettig following error as show i the attachment. Please let me know what to do

oh, it appears that you have the "wrong country" id issue. i'm not entirely sure as to how to avoid this but i believe it has something to do with the correct rom version (guys, correct me if i'm wrong). where did you get the rom you used for upgrading to se? downgrading might be the only trick if there is no rom for saudi-based users...but if any chaps presently living there and were successful in upgrading their units perhaps you could share the rom version/s you used?
cheers

To overcome the Country ID Error, first you need to install this tool...
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Tools/ER2003Edit_1_4_26.zip
Open the ROM file you want to upgrade, then change the appropriate 'Operator ID' code, after this click 'Save ROM image'.
Upgrade ur device. You will no longer face the error message.

My SPV M3100 won't start...

Hello.
I have a problem I hope someone here can help me to solve..
I have an Orange SPV M3100 that hangs on the Windows Mobile screen when I try to start it.
I'm able to go into bootloader mode, and i have tried using mtty142.exe with the set 14 0 command. It still won't boot. I've also tried to hard reset it.. still won't boot..
What I did was trying to unluck the SIM-lock with the Universal unlocker (HTC_Uni_Unlock_v1) from buzz. At the time I thought universal meant that it worked on all HTC devices (stupid, I know)... And I also thought it was harmless to just try and see if it worked. But I got an error around 92-93% and after that my device won't start. So my radio ROM might be screwed.
I'd like to flash my ROM with the i-mate one (JASJAM_WWE_1.20.305.3_1.20.305.104_1.07.03.10_ship.exe) and then add the ext-rom. But how do I do that when I can just access the bootloader screen? And do you think it will boot again if I'm able to flash it?
Here's some more info about my device:
HERM100
IPL-1.01
SPL-1.04
Thank you very much in advance. Help will be highly appreciated.
No your rom *is* screwed. You can get into bootloader, you can even get to 11% of a dopod etc rom upgrade if you try, but you will not flash a new radio.
You CAN boot the device.
Do a hard reset, but do not press spacebar to reboot after. Instead, do a soft reset. The unit should boot but as you've screwed the radio you will not get a gsm signal and the phone will say unknown sim status.
I know this as I bought one cheap after the owner had done exactly the same as you.
IMEI-check's unlock solution is the only one that works IIRC, and in some cases this re-writes the security area of the phone and repairs similar issues, but in this case I could not get the prog to read.
You need to return the device to HTC - you'll need to pay approx £35 for reflashing back to the orange rom. This is what I had to do.
Currently you cannot book the m3100 in through the web as it's too new, instead email / call them.
http://service.htceurope.com/
edit - or if you're an orange customer ring 150 and act dumb saying it ' won't work'....
Richard
What happens if you just leave the phone in bootloader mode and then try to flash any ROM (imate, dopod, htc...)? run 2 times the RomUpgradeUt.exe if you get an error on the 1st try.
If you get an error while running the rom upgrade utility you can monitor the USB port while upgrading (you will see the real error from the bootloader then), there's some more info on this wiki page:

good luck

No, if you want to send it back under warranty do not try to run a rom update as there are no orange rom packages. As described in my post above, it will get to 11% and stop. The device will be in the same state as before, with the same ext rom, but the splash screen and bootloader will have changed.
i.e: it will be bloomin obvious you tried flashing it and failed. Not what you want if you try for a warranty repair....
There is no error from the bootloader - as there is no radio rom present and no security area the upgrade process just hangs.

That's true, do not try to flash any other roms if you want to use the warranty or send the device back...
Thank you very very much for your help guys.
As I'm the administrator of these devices in the company I work for I just grabbed a new SPV and will send this thing back to Orange. It sounded like I'm getting a new one..
Well, I think I've learnt my lession.
Oh, and I have another question. Is there a reg editor I can install on this one so I can remove the app lock? I know I can install java apps, but it's a bit grumpy about apps that needs installation (the developer must be certificated).
Cheers guys.
Hi,
Try to flash a new rom using the SD card method described here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=62596
The rom must match your CID. Let us know if it works

Sorry to take the thread a bit OT, but just wanted to confirm this again.
So, if I flashed my M3100 with a different ROM, and then had to return the phone to Orange for repair for a different reason, I can send it back to HTC just to have the ROM reflashed, and then send the phone to Orange to get the repairs done?
I've been hesitating on whether to flash the phone with a non-Orange ROM because I didn't want to give up the ability to obtain warranty repair (as there is no ROM upgrade yet). If it's just a matter of £35 and then everything else as normal, maybe it's not so bad...
Thanks!

Jiggs Please help me!!!

Hi Jiggs,
Really really need your help...
I've accidentally flashed my O2 atom life to a wrong rom, and it was recovered by a rom named AL1.DIO & ExRom.img which downloaded from xda FTP sites.
The rom was recovered, however for the warranty reason i need to flash back to O2 original firmware. And when try to flash to it I encountered "Wrong Customer ID", can you advise how to bypass the CID check and flash to original ROM?
I've tried on the post stated on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293632 but the screen didn't show anything after execute the .exe file.
I do not wish to unlock the CID just intend to bypass it, can you enlightened me?
Your help is greatly appreciated.....
First off sounds like you have some idea what you're doing? (bootloader working?)
Secondly there is no jiggs anymore, he's gone, retired, moved on!
Last but not least he left a torrent of info in the wiki http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Atom start here and read, you may find a solution! good luck bro!

Hi bro,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I'm so sorry I'm a newbie didn't know bout Jiggs already retired
Btw I still manag boot into bootloader, the problem is due to the warranty reason, i need to dump my atom life back to its original state before i send in.
Now I'm still able to use the phone, it's just not in original rom.
Had tried to look around the thread you post to me, but i couldn't find any solution at all. Sigh, hope that someone can englighten me as i totally lost...
so you get the "CID error", whether you flash in bootloader or DSUU mode correct?
what is your bootloader version?(if not original Atom Life?)
<-and have you tried the EBOOT SDCard (this may not work for Atom Life) method to restore bootloader if not as stated above?

was working fine and suddenly "no gsm"

hello
i got my hermes and runned the unlocker procedure 3a,
it was working fine for over 6 months,
suddenly it wasn't receiving any signal , and now i am getting the message "no gsm" at the boot time.
I tried flashing another OS rom and worked fine.
but i cannot flash any radio rom. Whenever i try to flash a radio rom, the phone "Brakes" and stucks on the boot (3 colour) screen. And i cannot flash any radio rom, it does not accept anything, the only thing that accepts is the OS rom.
but again after flashing radio it crashes again and stucks at the 3 colour boot screen.
can anybody help me?
i tried running this procedure http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeProblems#problem5
but it didn't solve my problem.
does anybody have any idea?
try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377389
guys, is there anybody that can help me out with this?
i really don't know what to do.
okay, take a deep breath and relax.... first, as XtreMe_G said check for bad blocks with mtty and repair if necessary.
If I were you I would then try to re-install a stock rom. If that doesnt work maybe try a radio only rom . If that doesnt work, then it looks like the radio has been corrupted. No amount of flashing will repair this. If so, sorry, you are now the proud owner of a PDA but unfortunately it will never be a phone again.
Hope this helps... Cheers...

hi...
some body help me please where i can get the original rom softbank X01HT?
it seems to me from what u described that your phone is now a shiny brick. the only reason i suggested you checked for bad blocks is cause if i were in your position, i would try everything i could think off before giving in.....hopefully someone else has more ideas of wat to try, cause i'm all out here
Try "set 16 0" (without quotes) using mtty.exe . I am virutally in the same boat as you are. My Hermes radio is corrupted (No GSM) and it semi-bricks to Bootloader when I try to flash a radio ROM. Somehow I was able to Install HardSPL 1.40 when I first got it. That command un-bricked my phone from bootloader.
