Hmmm.. interesting.. maybe you can do
(1) Make your ring tone silent (e.g. use a silent WAV as ring tone) but put a loud and long WAV for your SMS.
(2) Use the divert call feature, Setting -> Phone -> Services -> Call forwarding. Check "Forward all incoming phone call to", and put in a fake number. So, when anyone tries to call you, they will be diverted into the fake number. (e.g. for girls whom are getting irritating calls, you can use this method). However, you still have your SMS working.
Another option (not every phone has this, but WM5 seems to have) would be Setting -> Phone -> Services -> Call Barring -> Block Incoming calls.
Better test your thing before really using it (e.g. try SMS it). Haven't try these technique yet.
Anyway, pity that this phone is being used as a pager though. It is like buying a refrigerator use it as a cupboard.

I probably phrased my question poorly. I wanted to be able to receive a page as an SMS message . I meant to do that in addition to the phone/email connections. Didn't mean to suggest to disable the phone at all. Thanks

SNPP protocol is available on the GSM band naturally, but you will need special session/application software for compiling data for use on the protocol.
I doubt you can do that. Firstly, you will need a station/provider to have a paging service, so you will have a page station for people to call to, you also need them (provider) to send you the signal. And, I'm pretty sure that you can't just accept any pager signal easily with a standard consumer devices and some cool software (esp that you still want the phone feature) as there are security features built into the page signal for better data transfer efficiency and privacy.

Hey guys, I put this over in the regular titan forums, but I wasn't sure where it belonged.
I am wondering if there is any way to send all incoming calls to voicemail when I am using PDAnet to get online. I know there is a PDAnet setting to "allow calls when connected" but even if I uncheck this, calls still come through and discconect my internet.
The reason I'm posting this here is because if something specific to PDAnet isn't available, or possible, is there anything that I can do to the phone to not have incoming calls disconnect my internet connection? I had a Motorola Q for a little while, and there is a "bug" that actually does this automatically (sends call to voicemail while on EVDO). It was a setting in the DEBUG menu, in the field test option, called DDTM, and it was by default on (I think), and so people had to change that to off (could be switched) to allow incoming calls. It was perfect for me though. Now, I think I tried looking for a DDTM setting in the mogul and I had found it a while back, but I dont think it did anything with regard to my situation. So my questions are:
Is there anything with PDAnet that I can do besides the setting I talked about? Registry or something...?
If nothing with PDAnet, then does anyone know how to change the DDTM setting on a mogul? I got into the DEBUG menu (##33284#) and I didnt find any DDTM setting there.
Besides the DDTM setting (since it hasn't worked for me in the past) is there any other method you guys can think of that will do what I want?

Call Filter
Yes there is There is a program called, Call Filter. you should be able to google it an find it.
SPB Phone Suite can also filter calls.
My understanding of call filter programs is that they screen the calls once they come to the phone and then prevent the phone from ringing. I would imagine this would still disconnect my internet services. I messed around a little with SPB phone suite, and I have nexvisions rom, which comes with Call SMS blocker (it has a call filter option). With SPB phone suite with the filter enabled, I couldn't even connect via PDAnet, it gave me an error 619 or something. With the Call SMS blocker, the program didn't block my incoming call at all, so that's more the program's fault. But am I mistaken in thinking that a call filter program would not work for my needs?
You don't need those programs to do it. Go to phone setting > Mode of Operation > change to EVDO only. This will automatically block all incoming/outgoing calls.
PS you might have to edit your registry if Mode of operation doesnt show.

That does seem to work for my last option. But I cant receive any calls at all when in this mode, so I guess I would have to manually change this each time . Is there any way this entry can be automatically changed somehow with a script or a registry change? Also, this wouldn't work in areas without EVDO right? Since I'm disabling 1x, it would seem like it. So no software solution for this eh? Wierd how the glitch with the Q was perfect for me...

I'm coming from the Captivate, and the only option I'm really missing on the Atrix is the call reject feature. I want to be able to automatically reject calls from certain numbers and unknown numbers, can't find the option there anywhere.
I know I can use the 'silent rington' trick, but that's not idea and doesn't work with unknown numbers.
Any thoughts?
Are you asking to blacklist certain numbers, dismiss a call like with volume down, or have all calls for a period of time go straight to voicemail?

Reject with Text
I was wondering something similar. With the Captivate and many other phones I had, there was an option to "Reject with Text." This was a nice feature I used every now and then. It seems that it is missing on the Atrix, does anyone know of an app or something that can do something similar?
I would suggest using Google Voice, which is free and open to anyone now.
You give out your GVoice number, and set GVoice to forward to your cell phone. No one ever needs to know your cell number direct, and if you change it..you just change the setting in GVoice.
GVoice allows you to actually block individual numbers--and generate specific responses to them! And you won't pay for the call, which would use cellular airtime if it was just your cell phone blocking it.
When editing a contact ---- under "Additional info" -> "Call handing" you can select "send strait to voicemail" .... however Mr. Number block is great for this by automatically blocking known spam by sending straight to voice mail or my favorite the "answer and hangup" tactic
The best solutions as stating before is Google voice as you can play a "this number is disconnected" or "the number you are calling does not accept unknown/blocked numbers" voice mail greeting.
Contacts > [Select a contact] > Additional Info > "Send straight to voicemail" [Check box]
I downloaded an app that works for me. The Contact thing is fine for numbers that you know, but not for unknown caller numbers.
I've tried Google Voice and wanted to like it, but its not my cup of tea.
It looks like the reject call feature and list is missing on this ROM, but not a big deal since there are apps to handle it.

The reject call feature works perfectly...the reason they don't allow you to just block all unknown calls is because almost nobody would actually need that. What if your mother ends up being rushed to the hospital because of an accident and the police try calling your phone (the number she gives)? Police officers usually leave messages but what if he doesn't want to so he tries calling a few times and thinks your phone is off because it always goes directly to voicemail?
It's not that hard to just hit "Reject" when you get a phone call from an unknown number...

The police would not be calling from an 'Unknown' number, if the police are calling me I'd see a number displayed on the caller ID.
I've NEVER received a call from a number tagged as unknown or blocked that wasn't a telemarketer call.
The 'reject call' feature, as I've seen it implemented on MANY other Android phones in the settings menu, is MISSING on this phone. Its not that it doesn't work, its that it is missing (AFAIK anyway)
I agree that it is missing, I miss it too. I used it all the time for a few numbers that kept calling me and asking for random names. Seriously though the same number would call and each time ask for a different name. All i ever had to do before was enable auto reject and click "add to reject" when that number, or set of numbers called. Now I will have to add it to contacts and then reject it. Not a big deal, and good to know that I have an option.
soo in the end whats the name of the free program that can reject automatically the unknown callers? i need that 2.(the SGS+ had that feature and it was awsome, i really need it)

I'm with Vodafone (Australia) and lately I've been working in my garage a fair bit where I don't have reception. During this time numerous people have called me, however I don't receive any notifications of missed calls at all. And when I go into phone log it doesn't show any call logs.
Is this a setting on the phone or should I contact Vodafone to get this sorted?

Good question Jonno. I'm also with Voda & honestly couldn't remember if this feature was working properly or not as I haven't missed a call for ages (people know not to call me at unsociable hours when I have the phone switched off ).
Soooo...I plonked my mobile broadband sim into my Nokia backup phone, turned my SGS2 to flight mode (to mimic not having coverage), called it from the Nokia & let it ring half a doz times then hung up.
Switched the SGS2's radio back on & haven't received a missed call notification (it's been almost 5 minutes). I've searched high & low thru my call settings & can't find anything that would turn such a feature on/off so I'm betting it's a network related thing. I'll update this post if the missed call notification comes thru at any stage tonight.
Yeah I've never got any missed call notifications with the phone. I have people trying to get on to me regarding some recent job applications so it's not very useful if I miss their calls and don't know who to call back!
Might try calling Voda tomorrow to see if they know anything about it...

I was ferreting around in the dialer/call settings & had a look at the call forwarding settings. Basically, forward when busy/unanswered/unreachable is set to that Voda number people who try to call you get when you don't answer & it asks whether you want Voda's "call catcher" to txt the person you're try to call to let them know they missed your call (with the number to call back on).
When I try to disable this feature on any of busy/unanswered/unreachable it tells me the network doesn't allow the feature to be turned off. So it seems Voda thinks their way of people being able to notify you by txt when you miss their call is the best way (only way by the looks of it) for this situation to be handled.
So I'd say people obviously haven't been choosing the option to send you a notification txt (via Voda's call catcher) and have simply been hanging up when they've been unable to reach you.
I guess the only way to get around this is to tell people to use the send notification txt option or to simply send you a txt themselves to say they tried to call & couldn't get you.
Unless you want to have fun calling Voda's uber helpful support ?

As the title suggests, is there any way to disable the bluetooth last number redial functionlity.
I have a Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i, Bootloader unlocked, Rooted) with a Samsung HM1700 bluetooth headset. The headset has a button for answering / ending calls and this same button also has the last number redial functionality, ie when not in a call, pressing this button redials the last dialed number.
AFAIK, the headset just sends a signal to the mobile which then calls the last dialed number.
What I need, is to disable only the bluetooth redial functionality on my mobile.

You can try the app Smart Bluetooth Headset from the Play Store.You can not only disable it but also make it do something useful
Since the app "Smart Bluetooth Headset" does not work reliably for me (e.g. not activated by default after program start) I use this now: Go to Bluetooth settings and find your headset. Uncheck Phone to disable the headset from being used for voice calls.

In addition to solving this problem your phone battery will last longer.

Necroing this thread to say that I tried "Headset Button Controller" and "Smart Bluetooth Headset" apps, both free versions, on my rooted HTC10 running Oreo 8.0 with a paired MPOW Crescent. Both apps worked, in slightly different ways.
Headset Button Controller places a dummy call on the call log. Activating the redial function on the headset (double click the answer/end call button on the MPOW Crescent) makes the phone call to the dummy thing, and a little window shows asking for a valid number. No call is actually made.
Problem is, if a valid call is made (for example, you call your boss or a friend), the dummy call setting must be reenabled again manually in the app - meaning that, if you make a valid call, the next time you activate the redial function on the headset, it will call the valid call.
Smart Bluetooth Headset works basically the same way, except that, instead, the redial attempts to call the * or *1 numbers. These attempts open the call window but close it right away, and immediately activate whatever you set the redial function to do. I set mine to run "Tasker 01", but didn't set what "Tasker 01" is. So, what my phone does when I (accidentally) activate the redial function on my headset is open and close the call window, and then return an onscreen self-fading error notification stating that Tasker 01 could not be found.
Best of all, the settings stick - meaning that, if you make a valid call, the redial function will still attempt to dial the * or *1 numbers, as long as the Smart Bluetooth Headset service is active.
So, in my experience, the Smart Bluetooth Headset app works the best.
Of course, I could just turn the headset on and off, whenever I need. It has a physical on/off switch, and immediately pairs with the phone (if previously paired) when turned on.

So, like, simply put.. You have a bluetooth HFP device that sends an AT+BLDN command to your phone.
The bluetooth stack runs DialCallCallback in the bluetooth package, which getLastDialledNumber from your phonebook, and then sends an ACTION_CALL_PRIVILEGED intent to the rest of the phone with the number to call.
Where could we act?
Perhaps if you could force some sort of HSP-only mode, you could avoid all the extra cruft but I'm not aware of any way to do so.
Similarly, there are plenty of ways to "directly hack the code", but I don't think anybody has got such a solution yet.
So my efforts have focused on disturbing the phone dialer from getting the action to call.
The problem is, "install-only" permissions aren't changeable. And without root you can't even hope to revoke android.permission.READ_CALL_LOG. And without xposed you can't even block intents.
(if you have either of these though, something could be done I guess?)
So long story short, well, Smart Bluetooth Headset still sounds like the best option.
It's no longer available in any official place as already stated.. But luckily enough it was open source!

Save the macro.
That's it !!!
Keep in mind to let the macrodroid app on the white list of any battery saver app you may have installed or is built in the android it self (eg xiaomi phones) easy to make it unrestricted to not be killed by any task manager.
Simple solution, minimal battery drain, no wake up the phone to check. The macro runs only on call intent

I am looking for this application and I really believe something like this exists, I just can't find it! I know google forwarding could do something similar, but it doesn't work with every country. And since android can do all these functions, the application like this probably already exists!
Ok, let's say call forwarding is set on phone A to forward to phone B. When I get a call to phone A I would like it to track the call, I mean to show the notification or to simply save the information about the call. But the call is forwarded to phone B.
I think about this as application on probably rooted phone, which work like this:
(let's say it all happens on phone A, which must be turned on and have credit on it)
1. Incoming call -> Start calling to forwarded number (B) (will always show that the same number (A) is calling for B)
2. If B answers the call, the application:
- Connects A phone sound to be transfered to B phone, so B would hear what the caller is saying. And the B phone sound to transfer to A phone, so the caller would hear what the B phone is answering. You probably understand that this could be recorded too, but since it's illegal in some countries it isn't necessary.
- It also starts counting the time of the call
3. When the call is finished, the app:
- Stops counting the time
- Writes caller data, call date & time, call duration to file/database
That's it!
Then we can see how much calls did we get, when they were calling, how many of them were answered, who have called and how long they have been talking.
Please let me know if you know app like this. That's ok if it's for rooted phone. That would be really helpful to find!
