Stand alone battery charger needed!!! - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Accessories

After flashing my ROM I can no longer charge my battery thru the phone. I have tried both connected to a wall outlet and USB to my computer, neither work and now the battery is dead.
Does anyone know of a desktop stand alone charger that will just charge the battery?

Maybe...
The battery in the my Cingular 8125 is a WIZA16. I believe, but not 100% sure that this battery is the same as a O2 or iMate.
The iMate has a docking station and 2nd battery charger.

Might work but not sure.
Here is the link that I found for the connection

$50 bucks, it is a bit of risk, but better than nothing.

Will USB connection charge spare battery?

Hi
My PDA2K cradle will charge my PDA2K fine via USB without the power adapter being connected.
What I need to know is if it will also charge the spare battery?
Does anyone know?
Does anyone HAVE a spare battery, they seem to be like hens teeth.
Robin
If it's the same as the XDA II dock then no, it won't charge the spare without the mains supply.
You need external power for spare battery.
I agree with Cruisin-thru.
It definitely does not charge the second battery when using the USB connection. I've already found this out the hard way....
T
Test for yourself. Cradle plugged into the mains and USB with ONLY the spare battery inserted - light on the front right hand side glows (Orange M200 cradle). Unplug the mains light goes out.
Voila!

Battery charger bug!!:-)

I had a BIG problem with a third party battery charger (RIMAX).
It is a Car charger and a wall mount charger, with USB plug and cable, but IT WORKS ONLY WHEN THE WIZARD IS ON! If the battery goes down for some reason and the phone couldn't turn on, you're lost!
So, the lesson learned is: before travelling without your original charger check if the one you have could charge the wizard also when is OFF and not only in stand-by mode!
I also have a strange issue with a third party car charger - after plugging in the car charger I have to switch the universal off then on again to make it charge...very wierd!
I've also got one of those, though would prefere one with a bit of cable in the middle to reduce stress on the connector.
Have you checked the amp output on the chargers. They're probably putting out 0.5 amps (USB spec). If you look at the wall charger that came with the wizard, it puts out 1.0 amps. That's why when your battery is completely dead, the 0.5 amp charger can't put enough juice into it to get the battery up to a high enough level.
Actually, according to the USB spec, a device is not supposed to consume more than 100mA without being recognized by the USB host. That is, the USB host is only going to give your phone 100mA until the phone says, "hey, i'd like 500mA, please!"
Sometimes manufacturers may shortcut this and just allow the port 500mA at all times, but a standards-conforming one won't.
This MAY be part of the reason why we have problems charging a completely dead Wizard -- it's only going to get 100mA until the device has enough juice to wake up and request more.

Ah! - That's the problem I had yesterday - had left my Vario on with TomTom draining away the battery and forgotten about it on Saturday night, had just spent the day moving house and everything was in chaos and had no idea where the charger was.
So when I realised it was dead on Sunday whilst out in the car, I plugged it into the car charger that came with my GPS unit, which I have used to charge the phone many times before - but it would not charge, no light, nothing!
When I got home all I could find was the mains charger for the GPS and a USB cable - tried both and none would put any charge into the phone.
By this stage I was shi**ing myself that the phone, which I got mainly for GPS for travelling around Germany in June, was DEAD - with 3 weeks to go!
of course later in the day, once I had eventually found the proper charger, it took a slight pause after being plugged in and then the little orange light of joy came on and brought me salvation!!!!!
I suspected it might have been something like the previous poster said but not being very technical I really didn't know!!
Thanks.
I've had the same frustrating experience. When the battery is very low or dead the only charger that will work is the original adapter, not the car charger or cradle or pass thru my laptop. As I result I have to carry the original adapter whenever I travel and I often wake up with a dead Wizard if I dont realize how low the battery is when I park it in the cradle.
Very frustrating. I dont understand why Boxwave doesnt use a beefier adapter connected to the cradle.

Cradle that can charge battery seperately

I had a blue angel (Qtek9090) and it came with a cradle which recharged the Blue Angel and a spare battery.
Does anybody know of such a device for the TyTn?
How is one supposed to recharge a spare battery otherwise?
I ordered the ORA charger from eXpansys for my TyTN a month ago. It FINALLY arrived today, and it DOES NOT charge an external battery. It's just an upright stand with power for the TyTN and draws its power from the USB port (no external AC connection).
I must admit that I'm more-than-kinda disappointed about this!
Bought one of these...
I bought an OEM cradle for the XV6700. I discovered the XV6700 uses the same battery as TyTN, so the battery charging slot works perfect. You can't use the cradle to sync/charge the phone itself, but at $24.95, it works for me as a spare charger. I've used it to charge the OEM battery as well as the Mugen Power 1500mAH that I bought (again for the XV6700) -- both charged correctly.

Can't charge O2 XDA (Wallaby)

Hi! I have a prob, for me it's a major prob, since it's the first time I'm using it and don't know how to solve it. I have probs with the cradle, I can't charge it even I've plugged in the power cable (with the AC wire/adapter) to the cradle and also the USB wire connected to my desktop. I'm using Linux for my desktop. The PDA doesn't show the charging signal (amber/green light) ever, and this is a new prob, it doesn't happen yet. When I switch off the main plug, means everything that connected to, the cradle and my desktop, my PDA automatically switched on when the USB wire connected, but not switched on when it's disconnected, the power cable still remains the same, never disconnect it. Hopefully, to those who really expert about it, please help me as soon as you can.
Thanks
sounds like the battery is dead
if it works even when connected to ac but just don't charge
But before this, I still can charge it normally. How can I know whether the battery is dead or something else? Does the battery only have problem, or related to the cradle too? If I can't buy the same cradle as I've got, can I still use other cradle like for O2 XDAII, O2 XDA Atom etc?
Thanks for the replies
if it gets power so it's running when in the cradle then the cradle is fine
OK. When recently you've said that the battery is dead, how does it happen? And now, I still put my PDA on the cradle, USB and Power Supply cable still connected, but nothing happen, still not charging. So, what is the way to solve this that you might want to suggest? Rather than modify the cradle itself, because I'm not so good in electronic
batteries got a sudden time you can charge them and they die it's the same for all batteries
but if when you put your device in the cradle or connect it to the charging connector for the ac psu and nothing happens at all the device don't power on or anything then
it could be the connector in the phone which is damaged
buy a new battery they are cheap ~$8 on ebay.
i cant really understand you but I have experiance with the older HTCs horrible battery management.
plugged in+noncharging+no startup tends to imply either a bad cable or bad battery.
could be a bad phone as well, but it'd show a light of some sort i believe.
grab a new battery off ebay.

S3 charging musings

I've just started using my S3 in my car connected to a car charger and have started noticing it gives the phone a super charge which means that I still have about 80% battery after about 6 hours use, this compared to around 50% battery if I was just to use my normal charger.
However my normal charger has a splitter cable on it which also charges my spare battery which is in a Samsung desk stand (sold as a Extra battery kit). It got me thinking can chargers give a different level of charge to a battery, even though they still 100% charge it?

Yes, several custom kernels have settings to adjust mains and usb charging currents
so, isn't it clear that questions go in the questions section?
I wasn't to sure if the post was going to include a question before I posted it, but if its a problem delete it or whatever I'm not really bothered.
