This is the old version of the famous Ghost Dual SIM, which has no menu, it is the model where you have to swich the phone off and on again.
This one doesn't feet between the phone and the battery, you have to hold the battery yourself and can't put the plastic cover.
Anyone tried with a newer version of it?
And this Dual SIM Holder: (cut)
I've also heared that you loose 3G capabilies of your SIM cards when you put them on a dual sim adaptor, you can only use 2G. Anyone knows if this is true?
Anyone having good experience with dual sim adaptors on TyTN? Which models have you tried?

Dual sim holder (cut) works!!!
I tried to use the Dual sim holder (cut)! It works for me perfectly! I suppose I can use the UMTS too, becouse the "U" is active on the tray (not the "G") and the download speed is: 284.8 kbit/s. Is it faster than the GPRS?

Yes, UMTS is a lot faster
Which dual sim holder is it? do you have to turn off the phone and then on again to switch sims or do you have an "special" menu on the phone to do it?
Also, are both SIMs 64K or more?
Thanks!

Re Dual Sim holder
No, I have two very old sim's (V1 card from 2001).
I don't have to turn on and of the phone to switch between the sim's. I can swich online using the dual sim menu.
I think the speed is low becouse of the sim's, not becouse of the dual sim holder. but I'm not an expert user.
If you have any other information, please write becouse i'm very intrsested in it.
Thanks,

I've done two tests:
1) I tried with one v1 SIM and one 32K SIM on the Dual SIM Holder (cut), but the one which has no special menu to switch the SIMs. This setup was working perfect on my old BlueAngel, but doesn't work on my TyTN, it sees as if there was no SIM card on the phone
2) I tried with two 64K sim on the Ghost Dual SIM (no cut), also the one without special switch menu. TyTN also sees as if there was no SIM card.
Probably I'll have to buy the Dual SIM Holeder (cut) with special menu and try it, but I don't have more v1 SIM cards... grr!! too bad! :?

Re: Dual SIM holder
Hi pof,
I tested my PDA with a new 3G SIM card. The max. download speed was 310 kbit/s by UMTS and 145 kbit/s by EDGE with dual SIM holder. And without the holder the results were the same. So i think the dual sim holder works perfectly in my TyTN with UMTS too. The only different in the speed was becouse the V1 is an older and slower SIM. Maybe.

Re: Dual SIM holder
Great news to hear that it's working!!! 8)
I've just bought one of those Dual Sim 10th Gen, Auto STK Menu, Universal holder cut which include the STK (Sim Tool Kit Menu) on eBay, although it says: and there is no guarantee that this item will work with 3g or 128k Sims, but my SIMs are 64K.
Will post my comments when I get it!

Anyone any more info on TyTn Dual Sim?
I'm off to buy one now, so any recommendations on what to buy would be appreciated (even if you're not 100% sure it will work). I'm looking for something that will take 2G/3G sims.
Thanks.
Andrew.
P.S. I'll post back the results when i finally get the VarioII

Can you receive a call on either numbers?
Forgive the ignorance, can anyone tell me if you can receive a call on either your cut sim (personal) or sim (work) at any one point in time?
Or are you only available to receive 1 incoming line at any one point in time?

Re: Can you receive a call on either numbers?
You can't recive calls in both phone numbers (unless you make a call forwarding from one to the other).
Those devices only let you switch from one SIM to another without actually having to take out the battery and switch the SIM card, but only one SIM is operaitonal at a given time.

Depends if you believe their spiel on their features:
“AUTO SWITCH” feature enables you to receive messages and phone calls on both number synchronously ( Auto switch is set in the on screen menu) timing of 0 to 99 minutes can be set for switching.
Anybody have any idea how that might actually work?

I use the AutoSwitch on other phones, not the TyTn
It will switch lines at the predefined time you specify, but you can ONLY receive messages or phone calls on the line that is currently active. Anything to the other line will go to voicemail. It sometimes doesn't switch lines though, and gets stuck in flight mode instead, and NO lines are active. I don't know if it's phone, network, or dual SIM issue, but FYI. I would like a Dual SIM where you don't have to cut the SIM either. Actually, I wish all the the phone carriers would have stuck with V1 spec SIM cards so we could clone them onto a single card. Oh well.......

Any Update?
Any update on this?
I am considering buying the 10th gen, but it would eb great if someone could confirm it would work on the TyTN.
Thanks

I still not received mine , contacted the ebay seller and he told me he will send a replacement.

sorry to hear that. I have just ordered mine - let me know how it goes

works fine.
When you switch the sim using the apllet provded it puts the ppc in flight mode and it should then put it automatically off flight mode and the other sim is then active. If it hangs, you may need to put it manually back off flight mode, and it works.

Thanks. I've ordered mine and I am now waiting for the delivery.
You mention the applet - does it rely on the Midlet manager on the phone? For some reasons I've got problems making it work.

Under Programs you automatically get a new link "Dual SIM Card."
You do the switching by running the program and clicking on the SIM card (1 or 2) that you want to activate.

which card did you actually but? any details - I'd like one!

Are you guys cutting your sims? What happens if you want to not use the dual sim card thingie anymore?

SAT is actually called STK. I think they made a mistake. I think almost all modern phones support the Sim Tool Kit.

U where right thanks
It is indeed STK they made a mistake, found one on ebay france for 1 euro + S&H = 2 euros...
Works perfectly
Thanks...
Just a thought ... it takes ages to change lines...
How long? Takes me about 15 secs or so.
I use PhoneAlarm: I set up a flight profile and a normal one, and can launch them with claunch, so I can flick between operators with my big thumb...

I use 12in1 SIM-Max sucessfully on my BA.
It uses the STK Function to Switch between of the BA sucesfully.
You get a USB-Card reader/writer and a empty 12-in-1-SIM-Card. You "read-out" the original SIM-Cards with the USB-Reader to your Hard-Drive (Takes about 8 hours) where they are stored as a File. Than you choose up to 12 of those Files and write them to the 12-in-1 SIM Card (takes Minutes).
Big Advantage:
1. No cutting of your original SIM
2. You can make as many copies of your SIM as you want.
3. If you have no SIM-PIN enabled, you can even auto-switch like every x minutes from one SIM to the other
Be careful:
If you have PIN-Code on Power-On enabled on your SIM-Card when you "read-out" it will be also in the File on your Hard-Disk. I recommend that all SIM's you want to combine have the same PIN enabled to not lock it by accident.
There are two Downsides:
1. Sometimes after the successful Switching it will not exit the STK Function: That means you can continue to work without any problems on your BA but just can't switch again until you reboot.
2. It works with most BUT not all SIM-Cards. You only find out after you tried it :-(
i.E. I successfully combined:
- Swisscom (Switzerland)
- Orange (Switzerland)
- Sunrise (Switzerland)
- Sunrise Prepaid (Switzerland)
- T-Mobile (USA)
I could NOT read out OrangeClick (Special Prepaid Service of Orange Switzerland).

to do this, you must clone your original sim card! some sim card can't be cloned because they are "comp128-V2 or comp128-V3". some operator have this card, and other don't. inform you about your sim! if your sim is older than 2002, you don't have any problem( he isn't comp128-V2 or V3)
if your sim is youngest than 2002, he may be cloned.....
 Another Atention to everyone who want to clone a sim card:
if your are gonna try to clone a sim card comp128-V2 or V3, you can destroy him. take care!!!!

[Q] Cut a Mini Sim to Micro! But the phone is not detecting it.

Just got an Xperia S from Amazon.com. The title said 'unlocked android phone, international version'.
I cut the Mini Sim to the size of micro sim and inserted in the mobile but the phone is not detecting it.
Did I cut the sim too much?

I don't think we have to lift the thing covering the sim slot to insert the sim, right?
I mean we just to put the sim in the space provided over the sim slot and slite it over inside. That's it, right?
But why isn't my sim not working?
I'm afraid if it is a locked phone. I went to the services info to check it but is not showing that it is a locked phone. What am I missing?
You might cut it too much.
Even if the sim is not allowed you should see the signalbars and can make emergency-calls.
If the sim isn't detected by the phone then you shouldn't see any signal.
When I insert the sim in the phone it gets restarted. And then says that no sim inserted!!!
Asked in a shop to bring the 'Mini To Micro Sim cutter'. He will get it in few hours. Will try it and report back.
Actually I had cut the sim because it worked for others. I went through forums and saw that many did the above process.
I am just afraid if the phone is fine!
It is not locked! I checked it in the services menu! But still am afraid!
i had the same problem like yours when i first got my phone , even i tried cutting my normal sim into the micro sim size and tried inserting it ,however it never worked that way .. may be because of the way each sim card is built. I tried cutting 2-3 sims and it never worked. Eventually i had go to my service provider and had to replace my sim with a micro sim card and it worked straight away. I heard many iphone users claiming the manually cut sim working in their phones but i guess it will never work that easily with XPS. So just chill and get a micro sim from your operator it should work.
Even cutting it with a tool (
) won't work!?
I live in a remote area and getting a new micro sim takes time!
And I wonder if I can get a new micro sim with the same old number and old network!
Hope the tool works!!!
I did cut the SIM myself and it worked the first time in.
It was bit easier for me as I have company iPhone 4, and I could compare sizes and placement.

Same thing for me on XPERIA S. T-mobile Croatia microSIM works when i cut it but Tele2 Croatia is not working. Tried on iPhone 4 and same thing. I cut both in same way so I think the problem is in card. The chip is different on each SIM. Anyway Tele2 croatia microSIM is coming next week so I don't care.
Try cutting a diagonal corner off, make sure its the corresonding one to the mini sim. The contacts may be out of line.

Yep you can, just contact your service provider and tell them to send you a micro sim, or go to one of their stores and have them replace it.
A SIM card can easily get ruined by cutting it yourself, if you cut to close to the connector (Connectors can vary in size) or cut some of the string going down to the actual chip it wont work.

But in India things won't be that simple! If I could get a micro sim from the service provider then I wouldn't be taking the risk of cutting the sim!

Just want to share the images of the cut sim that is working fine in my Xperia S.
Still using a tool LIKE THIS will be better instead of cutting it manually because if we cut it manually the lines may not align properly.
micro sim
I've cut mine as well, it didn't work until I cut in to the contacts, IDK why. Then I had to send my phone away because of the yellow tint issue and my newly cutted SIM didn't fit the convertor properly so I wasn't able to put it in my old phone. I had to go to Vodafone to give me real microsim that fits the converter. Once I was in the shop it was question of 5 minutes to get it
Some SIM cards got 5 contacts lines, but you only need the 3 in the middle. Like this I cut myself:
You can see that I cut away some gold at the bottom there.
It also got a little bit smaller on the width, but u just have to make sure u push the sim card as much as you can upwards when you plug it in your phone. If the sim is "hanging" down/not on line, the phone wont detect it.

why to cut, my provider (tmobile croatia) give me one for free, 2min in service center and i go home with brand new sim card with same number as my old one..
My service provider charged me $20 for it.
Krkrkr!!
Sony,
put micro sim on their phone for many raison,
but one is to avoid infected sim that cause trouble on the phone(autoreboot, batteryDrain, massive sms sending, avoid warranty,ect..),and force old sim user to get another one,
but if you be sure that you never flash,download,put,copy,ect.. On your previous phone:-D
then you need to cut the sim perfect of the contact, and you need to place it correct, because the contact are not exactly same.
Good luck,
Me,for have network on mine take me 4hours
And if it say no sim when insert it,
you can restart it and it detect correct
Place the square in the midle with tiny push at left.
Sorry for language.
But I strongly recommend you that you wait for a totally safe new microsim
And not try your old sim
But it's just my opinion.
;-)
If after start your phone with signal ok and you receive an empty sms and you have FC in battery stats and one FC on the home friend widget
That's why you not wait a new sim :-D
Ciao
As you can see some are not same

It wont fit. The other slot is strictly sd card slot. Both sims u have will fit in the nano slot. I have never used a data only tablet sim in a phone though dont know how that works. Samsung Tab S6 wifi variant might have lte

When I pulled out the sim tray for sd card noticed the other side had spot for sim tray filled in. I popped out plastic part and noticed SMS function is disabled. Me thinks once the LTE variant comes out we're could flash that software on the wifi variant and cellular might work.
yeah noticed that too, it seems to have the sim card reader circuit on the inside of the tablet so yeah might be a free upgrade down the line
Yeah kinda excited for that.
You will brick phone.
Why is that? I'm flashing the same software on the same device.
Even if you could flash the LTE enabled firmware on the wifi Tab S6, it won't enable LTE. There's no IMEI assigned to the SIM slot (which I doubt there even is a SIM slot.
You mentioned that SMS function is disabled. I may know why.
I have a Galaxy Note 10+ through T-Mobile and I was able to enable the "Call and Text on other devices" feature through the Advanced Features section of the settings on both the phone and tablet. I can now get SMS and Phone calls through my tablet, as long as the Tab S6 is connected to WiFi.
I do hope that the tablet can be LTE enabled in the long run but I think for now this is just a feature to share phone capabilities with your actual phone.

Yeah who knows i know with the one plus 7 pro snd 6t you could flash the interntional software and put a dual sim tray in the phone with the tmobile variants and it will do dual sim so hopefully it can be like that lol either way is whatever but that would be a cool added feature
I would love this, My tab is coming today, but EXTREMELY unlikely as that would mean they lied to the FCC and have the LTE baseband radios
Assuming it has a cellular radio, in addition to not having the s/w to support data or dialing, it doesn't have an antenna. While you may be able to insert a nano SIM in the card tray that doesn't mean there's anything in the tablet to read it.
Unlocked cellular tabs are XX5 and the carrier versions are XX7 while the Wi-Fi versions are XX0. You cannot flash a ROM that's not for your specified model number and this isn't new, it's always been that way. People have gotten Wi-Fi-only ROMs to work on cellular Tabs but it blew away all the cellular features. People have driven themselves nuts over time trying to activate the dialer and MMS on a XX7 by flashing XX5 s/w and no one's been successful. But many tablets got bricked trying. And both of those devices had an active cellular radio with all the correct supporting h/w. Do a search on XDA or browse older generation Tab forums to learn more.

Crazy thinking this would work. Best is to get an LTE version if you really need it ?
Seriously, this non story has been doing the rounds since at least the Galaxy S4 phone.
Samsung DO NOT build the modems into non LTE devices, however for manufacturing simplicity and spare parts reasons use the same combo Micro SD SIM adapter.
Anyone who believes this will work can I perhaps interest you in my private shares in the London Bridge Holding Company that I might be wiling to sell.
can anyone who has the T865/LTE model confirm that it includes the Samsung Phone app and you can place/receive calls with the T865 model? I have Tab S4 LTE that i use for work in the field and having the phone part of the tablet is a must for me. thanks to anyone who can reply to my question.

@vogemic-thank you sir. :good:
I have Verizon, i bought a samsung tabs6 (WIFI only from BestBuy). I read about two hours ago about being able to do Samsumg calling and texting using my samsung account on my verizon connected Note 10 plus , I enabled it and it works flawlessly, it uses my Note 10 plus remotely to make calls, however!, before all this i had downloaded My Verizon messeges app from the play store and i did the pairing barcode so i can get text on my tab s6 from my verizon phone number, it worked but no calls on my verizon messages app, "until" i enabled Samsung calling and text! the next time i opened my verizon messages i got a pop alerting me that i could now CALL from my verizon messages app so i enabled it. I tried calling right after and it worked!! i do not see the remote calling notification on my Note 10 plus when using the verizon messaging app.
#1. I work for Verizon retail but as far as my understanding a tablet must have a designated phone number with verizon (1×/3g/4g) to be able to receive text from the verizon network thru my verizon messaging app. The tablet was able to receive messages to my surprise. Although it did let me somewhat select the call option in my verizon messages it didnt work for calling at 1st.
2. Enabling Samsung calling and texting gives the tablet a "Voip" phone number? Is it my carrier number? Without an IMEI ID or SIM ID? And lets me call from a messaging app using my carrier phone #? ??
3. That was sick!! And if it helps anyone please dont thank me. ?

International simcards not working on the Indian (manufactured in Vietnam) variant?

I recently bought the LG g8x from Flipkart. I was surprised to see that the phone didn't show any signal when I popped in my Singapore sim card. I was previously using the same simcard on a different phone, so I was sure it was working. To be sure, I put it back in the old phone (Redmi Note 8 Pro), it still worked. To check whether the issue is with just a particular carrier/country, I tried simcards from UK, USA, Singapore, and South Africa. All did not show any signal in the LG g8x. They all showed a signal on the Redmi. Am I missing something?
I did contact the LG support over whatsapp and phone, and their replies were... unhelpful to say the least. I have attached a screenshot of my conversation with them. I noticed sometimes it said network locked on the pull-down menu.
Any ideas/inputs?

Thats odd. This phone is supposed to support all 4g bands. Try a network reset. Try enabling roaming. Try different sim slot. Switch off that hotspot while testing.
Your home screen looks different. Whats that SOS mode? Did you change firmwares or have not updated to latest os?

Hey.
Well, it was odd to me too, which is why I put it up here to make others aware. For clarity, I am still in India, and just have a lot of international simcards because of my line of work.
I tried to enable roaming, but it doesn't get enabled. I tried either sim slots. I also tried putting an indian sim with an international sim in either sim slots. The indian simcard immediately catches network in all cases.
That was the hotspot that was showing up, which I stopped while testing. My background is changed, otherwise the phone is almost as i got it, apart from the updates. It has been updated to the latest available ota showing to me.

International sim on lg g8x
Hai,
I am now at uk and using lebara sim and its working perfectly , i activated the sim while i was in India, there where no issues then or till now. I bought the phone on big billion days sale on the very first day.
It may be network lock done by LG to avoid illegal sale of flipkart phones outside india. Just like samsung . which allows you to use international sims only when you activate the device with Indian sim and use it for atleast 10 to 20 mins. This way grey market cant sell a boxed phone outside india.

I bought it in india, but never bothered to use it there as im using an LG G6. When i tried the qatar sim it says network locked. i have an International airtel sim with me her in qatar and when i tried that sim, it catches the network instantly. As you mentioned "use it for atleast 10 to 20 minutes". Is it enough to put that sim and switch it on and let it be in standby state or do i need to make 20 minutes worth call with that sim. can you please specify.
Make calls for atleast 5 to 10 mins.
Although i am not sure whether you need a indian radio (i mean you need to be in india) despite of using indian network airtel.
Samsung phones which has indian sim only label outside the box. Says use it with indian sim and make calls for atleast 5 mins to activate the usage of international sims.
Lg should have at least cared to put this label like Samsung.
Hi, folks. I'm having the same issue. Bought in India in Amazon (not even on Flipkart sale!), but unboxed later in Russia.
That surprise was waiting me when I installed local SIM cards. Can anyone help to fix that? I'd even agree to buy Indian SIM card to unlock it, but I have no idea how to get it in Russia. Tried couple unlocking services - they cannot help to unlock it, because it's locked by region, not by network provider, and it's seems none has codes yet (
Maybe there are some variants to get any Indian promo SIM or smth like that and send it to my location?
I'm exhausted of finding solution, that's just aweful regarding the fact I bought a new "not locked" phone

Hello Suhesh, have you had a success with Airtel SIM outside of India? I mean, have you unlocked network by using it (making calls etc)? That would be very helpful for me to know

Initially the phone needs to be activated rather to be used along with Indian SIM, later on in any country the phone will work with any country SIM for sure.
