Missing Ext_Rom....Please help!!!!! - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Good evening;
I have a problem with my new Vodafone v1605, I unlock the ext_rom and quite perfectly. But one of the times that remove a program that was installed gave to me a mistake of which the memory was full, and since then already I do not have access to it and it does not appear in the information of the system either it (has disappeared).
I had done a hard reset and the files that there in it if they established themselves but there is no way of being able to accede of to be able to see the version. Someone can help me with this problem?.
Thank you and a greeting to all
PD. SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH, I'M FROM SPAIN.

Same here on my Vodafone HT626F..
Unlocked/Mounted extrom, it was properly accessible from the
beginning.
Then after 10 days or so the screen alignment problem appeared,
I decided to do a hard-reset. Since then I'm not able to
unlock/mount the extrom anymore, not with the cabs around here,
nor using fit4cat tool.
I also tried soft-reset before the extrom stuff gets installed
(so extrom is still there and all the cabs are present), still the
same, it's not possible to unlock it.
Anyway I'm thinking to replace the damn thing, since screen
alignment drives me crazy, so I'm not looking further into this
problem

does it install after hard reset?
What do you have in this registry keys?
HKLM\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\EXT_FLASHDRV
HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\EXT_FLASHDRV

EXT-ROM
Hello, any ideas?.
Anyone have the same problem?
Thanks in advance.

Try importing the attached reg file and see if it fixes the problem.

Thank you for your support
Now I can see HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\EXT_FLASHDRV, but my extended ROM is still locked. Any other solution?

Finally Arabizer working on Magneto WM 2005,

finally i got the most turn off things i faced in 2005 to back me up to 2003 but after i installed 2005 for the 4th time & desided to stick with it untill i either solve the problem or microsoft will post solution
1. Etisalat Settings for mnet & MMS
(everytime you install them they somehow crash the original DB of messaging where you will not be able to open your mesages anymore untill you do a format
2. and most importantly Arabic reading writing
after long time spent to fix those problems i finally got them working, see screen shoots
yeah ok , great but how u fixed the issues ?
lol am sorry it was a bit hard, & even worse to explain, i writing down something that might help people around doing it once i find an easy way to make it accesseble to people

Post a cab or tell us what you modified in the registry!!!
Waiting, thanks! :?
Oh something else I noticed the radio rom is 1.08.00, can you dump it?
PC) folder, take a copy of your registry after pasting the file & before softreseting the the device, then reset your device, if it will ask you then if you want to run few DLL files acept all of them, then take another copy of your registry & store it in a differant file, now go to your programs & you'll find arabizer file there in which one of them is english name, another one is arabic as '7ayarat & the 3rd one is arabic letters but mirrored in reverse, this will be always your indication if arabic is now working fine, click on this file, it will load couple of other DLLs but will give you some error message about an AOP????? file, don't mind it, now got to your control panel, (Setting) of your mobile & go to the settings Tab, again it will ask you to load some file.cpl say yes, soft reset your device with a software for soft reset not through the pen, then it will load, if you get an error about some file couldn't be loaded just reset few times & it should work, if you lost you signal in gsm, load the first registry file & softreset your mobile again, it will ask you to load some dll file again accept them then go to the settings to load the cpl file, then reset , if this doesn't work load the second resitry file & do the same proccess untill the file with the names reversed is corrected, now enjoy arabic on your system.

PS. if some get this way working for him i please him to put it in a simplified way because unfortunatly i have too little time to spare on rewriting it in an organized way, but once it worked i had to post it here because this is the best site in the world for PPC's & they deserve the best
Thanks mate I'll give a try later on
now that's interesting , thank u
anyone tried it guys am intrested to know
i think the secret is in the registry integrity & the file loading proccess, if you load the arabic files first after reseting the device they will affect the memory or the gsm loading, specifically the file CPROG.EXE which don't get loaded correctly, actually this is how i found i can fix arabic if i only get it loading after cprog & not before, thats why you put the files manually without the setup file so after you reset the device & when it asks you to load the dll files it will insert it in the registry after loading the cprog not before
guys i heared someone tried it withought backing up the registry & it worked perfectly fine, remaining only is the camera & record button & this should be it for me
i think the camera is the last problem , buttons are working fine 8)

well am not sure but regarding the hard reset only do the clear registry hive option without the format,
hi guys!
we are working for the localize Himlaya WM5.0 to Chinese and Japnese.
On the previouse OS, we need Font and registry, and also need wince.nls which support to encoding to our languages.
without replacement wince.nls, the inbox and IE cant encode to ours.
Usual, we got the wince.nls which has our lamguge support from the device of Japanese or chinese, or take from SDK emulator, or make it ourseleves with MS Platform Builder.
Till the version of WM2003se, easy to replce it.
But new OS of WM5.0, replacement of wince.nls can not be effected, even it was replaced firmly. the OS seems to be ignor that!
@On the Himalaya WM5.0, Some version such like 1.6b, 1.6h, 1.6i can get encooding with new wince.nls, but other version of WM5.0, it was not be able...cant find the reason yet.
@On the Blue Angel WM5.0, also it was ignored by OS
@On the Jasjar just we got, also it was ignored..........
We need find some solution of this system which ignore the replacement of wince.nls.
i already work for that more than 5days ........
I think to localize to Alabian, you guys will have same problems.
Example some of you can replace wince.nls, some of you can not get it.
so if you got some information, please exchange it about that, of course we also let you know if we got it!
Thanks guys!
following is our thread about localize to Chinese / Japanese..

yes. I am using WM5 1.60C WWE, I can not replace the wince.nls in rom with new one.
this is again a simplified version of installing arabic in your WM2005, just install both attached cabs in there sequence & everthing should be working fine
PS am not resposible if it crashes your device but so far it haven't crashed min
to Replacement wince.nls
PLS install this cab,
and place your wince.nls onto \Temp folder
then soft reset. you can replace wince.nls
<exactry saying, not relace.enable to read wince.nls from \Temp frolder>

its the same as my earlier version but before people comlaint about arabic keyboard not getting installed & the need of using a 3rd party arabic keyboard for it to work, also some people had trouble over writing few files & so HOPFULLY this makes the installation far more easier untill Mr Imaginet company decides to develop a fully intergrated 2005 arabizer
Imaginet already created the arabizer for 5.0, but they didn't release it yet as you can see in the JasJar arabized version, we have a new built of arabizer

X01HT manner mode executable wanted

hi,
can anyone still running the original japanese rom on x01ht share the manner mode executable with me? i don't recall the exact name of that file but i think it was like manner_mode.exe you can find in windows directory.
i had it backed up when i made the rom switch to tytn but i somehow lost it. appreciate it if you could reply to this with that file attached.
thanks in advance...
can anybody help?
Is that the program that activates manner mode by press and holding the comm manager button?
Sorry I don't have it either, I flashed English and would love this functionality back too.
tle,
yup, that's what I'm asking for. i think it will benefit everyone if someone can upload it here.
Isn't it on x01ht ExtROM? If it's not you can probably extract it from the dumped rom.

It's definitely not on the extrom... I've converted a half dozen X01HTs from Japanese to English, and not been able to restore that function. Thanks for the links to the dumped ROM; that should help me get some of the softbank special stuff back...

hi guys,
it's not on the extrom. it's in the windows directory for sure. i once copied it on my storage card but i lost it when i screwed it by reading that micro sd card with my pc.
pof,
i realized that you might be right saying that it's on the extrom. i recall that it was not a rom file and it was a file copied into the windows directory. i think that means it was installed by one of the sb cab files on the extrom. the only cab file i did not execute was PT_SIMlock_Empty.cab.

I think it's not on this one, this just adds the "annoying screen" for simlock protection by software. If you install this then you need to install SB_USIM.cab to remove the annoying screen.

I agree - I still have the unnerving feeling that some of the content in the extrom actually points to executables somewhere in the ROM. Bad band-aid type code, but what would you expect..? I think I saw similar on the i-mate extrom where it tried to execute parts of the standrard rom after a cold reset..

Is it this??
Dear all members
I saw some bbs mentioned as follow
'there is a file that was conianted in X01HT WINDOWS folder
TrayIcon_MannerMode.exe'
But I'm not sure is it correct?
Manner mode is called in oversea 'silent-mode' or 'flight-mode'
I've flashed my X01HT to Dopod rom so that I can not try it.
anyway let's you try it.
BR,
krnnidtt,
i don't exactly remember the file name but i think the one you saw is the one i am looking for. it's not the "flight-mode" that turns the radio off but it is the same as the "silent-mode" and turns the vibrator on.
you can turn on the vibrator by opening the comm manager and tap on the vibrator icon, but this small exe file i am looking for does the same by just press and holding the comm manager button. when that is on, an icon sits in the tray. not a big deal but it's convenient.
i'll check the dumped rom pof advised.
Now that I understand what "manner mode" is, this might be useful for you too:

hi pof,
thanks a lot for that. it works great and this is what i wanted. i should have searched more to find this thread myself in the first place. now i will find a way to assign this to press and hold state of the comm manager button (button 3).

VT_Engine_23818_ext.CAB

Hi all
I seem to have a problem with my unlocked m3100
A friend ran VT_Engine_23818_ext.CAB on my 3100 and now I can't seem to download my e-mail. . .
See attached
It’s showing a "U" by the phone connection - not G, or 3G as precious
Would like to back it out / uninstall, by it doesn't give me the option
Any help / advice / commiserations gladly accepted

Alas, tried that, but I think it has messed around with more than the registry
& begining to wonder if a full reset might not be the best solution
if at all
Isn't it listed in Add/Remove as an "Customisation Tool" or something like that?

Extended ROM question (files have disappeared).

I've hard-reset a couple of times lately (to recover from a crazy spree of playing with registry files/checking out freeware) and a reset or two ago, as I opened the Extended_Rom folder with Total Commander to run the MMS cab, I realised a bunch of the files I usually see there are missing.
Normally I see all the files listed in the config file (all operator customisations/everything beginning with 'Signed_') in the extended rom, but now I only have the ones you can see in the first screenshot. I didn't have the software installed (soft reset before it started) but the cab files were usually there any way.
I did play about with trying to remove a few of them (Signed_DisableBeam for one) but I didn't think I'd been successful & I didn't try and delete them all, so... I'm confused! I've hard-reset since then and they haven't come back.
Does anyone know what happened/what it sounds like?
&also (although I'm guessing the answer is 'no' -- it can't be that easy ) can I edit/overwrite the config file with one of my own, leaving out the O2 customisation?
(Phone info is in my sig, in case you need it.)
Thanks!
I think you may find that they are still there but hidden and will not be installed. Try reflashing your extended rom or create your own with Faria's turorial found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=269583
regards
Riptos
my theory is that extended_rom allows edition (via WindowsMobile OS) but does a checksum at boot. as a protection it blanks itself whenever the checksums fail.
As a solution I advise a reflash of that area alone (via edited RUU)
cheers
Hi,
I have a question about this subject.
I seem to be having this same problem (curiousity kills sometimes)
However after many attempts at reflashing my device the ext rom never showed again and completley disappeared. many hard resets have failed. Its not something I'm really all to worried about, it's just I find it odd that no ext roms from any installations will work at all.
Could it be because it's a tmo mda by chance or that is a G4?
I've tried every rom under the sun so to speak.
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
ipl/spl: 2.17.0001
CID unlocked
well, you DO have a G4 device but since G4 have DOC write protection enabled and can't downgrade to ROMs bellow 1.06 i don't think that using pdocwrite would help here (i've used it before in mt G3 to solve such issue)

English Dopod U1000 WWE_Language ROM_CAB

Hi everyone I have started a new thread for English WWE ROM. If you are like me and own a Chinese Dopod U1000 device, and wish to use it in English, then I have authored a CAB. It is virtually 99% there (I think) I have tested it quite thoroughly, (there is an Uninstall if you wish to go back to Chinese.) The install is based on the Dopod WWE ROM (RUU_Athena_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.24.707.3_104_6275_1.32.00.10_108_Ship)
However as the ROM on the Taiwan device is newer, the CAB only enables the English language. Ok unfortunately you will need to do a hard reset first and then run through the extended ROM setup. Once the vendor automated builds have finished, run my CAB. The install will prompt for a reboot (in chinese, just select the option on the bottom left.) Once rebooted the unit should start up in English; now set your region and install all your apps. Please use this thread for Bug reports etc. Also credit goes to Dutty (And his set of Tools) and also Asukal, and also wu5262 and ahmadfarid for testing.
My congratulation.
I have a Dutch Ameo. Can I use your *.cab to get english system?

It worked for me. If you don't like it, via hard reset you can always return to your original ROM.
I did as follows:
- hard reset
- reset again before loading the ext Dutch ROM
- installed the English Dopod U1000 WWE Language ROM CAB, copied before to a Microdrive
- reset
- got an error; " The file VCDaemon cannot be opened. .... reinstall or restore the file"
- install the WWE extROM, copied before to a Microdrive.
Checking how it works now.

Also have it working with T-Mobile Ameo Dutch with the same issues reported above. I have removed the "non existent" program shortcuts and uninstalled the voice commander application because it is not translated at all to english. Will work on the registry values to correct the positions of the tray icons vrs program links. A few programs need to be renamed and then no-one would know this used to be a Dutch ROM
Thank you guys for this wonderful job.

Now lets see to unfinished business.
On my ex-Nederlands version, the tray applets are out of alignment. This is how I fixed it. Will find time tomorrow to "unhide" some of the icons.
Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\TrayApplet\...........
You will see the keys (folders) named 2 to 9. Re-name them by reducing the numerical values by 1, so 2 becomes 1 3 => 2, 4 => 3 etc. until 9 renamed 8.
Currently SIM Acess Manager is not responding, and the Backlight.exe control icon is hiding. That will be sorted out later in the day by mapping the correct paths.
