Need registry hack to allow MSVC 1.5 to work via BT on 3125 - HTC Startrek

Good day,
I have the Cingularar 8125 and 3125.
I have MS Voice Command 1.5 working on both (both are V 1.5 but they are different executables)
Whereas I can activate VC 1.5 on my 8125 via bluetooth using this registry hack:
Open up a registry entry program such as Total Commander 2.0.
Then go to
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path”.
Change the default value from
“\Windows\SDDialer.exe” to
“\Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe”.
Now you should be able to activate Micrsoft Voice Command by
pressing the connect button on your bluetooth headset.
I need to find a similar registry hack to enable me to activate VC 1.5 on a Cingular 3125.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Claude H.

I've got one approach ... although it's not as quick, intuitive, and simple as yours for the PPC ...
I've got a Plantronics M2500. I hold down the connect key on the headset until I hear 3 beeps. Then I press the button on the 3125 that I've mapped to the VC UK 1.5 (long camera press) and then speak the command.
That works for me.
Ideally, I'd like to change the mapping to the voice tags button which is just sitting there getting no presses from me!

Download jetware mobile for Smartphone..it enabled MS Voicecommand over Bluetooth. Using it on my 3125 and it works perfectly.
It costs $15 but it's well worth the money since *ahem* the MS VC is pretty cheap (read: free)

You got Microsoft VoiceCommand 1.5 to run on your Cingular 3125? When I attempt to install it, I get an error on the phone complaining that this software is not intended for this device.
Suggestions, tricks?

MSFT voice command will work just as long as your 3125 is fully application unlocked (this is not the same as SIM unlocked). I have the UK 1.5 version and it works flawlessly over bluetooth using jetware.

Agreed, I also have the UK version running with Jetware and works great. MS should have 1.6 out by the end of the year.

Anyone tried BT Tools 1.1 on WM2005 ?
You don't need BT tool on WM2005. He has better BT manager and you can you it instead of BT tools.
Rico
I've tried it on Buzz's 1.6 version of wm5 (Himalaya) and before I upgraded my radio ROM from 1.14 BT Tools loaded and worked as per the old version (like a charm). While it may not be necessary owing to certain improvements in wm5 it still had features I liked (BT auto power off when idle for 60s).
Once I've upgraded to 1.17 it loads but nolonger appear on the today screen. Then when I bond with a new device I get the BT Tools profiles screen. I have then been able to use the Activesync profile to sync with Outlook 2002 on my PC via BT. I can't however access the two power/light profiles nor the BT auto shut off feature (I really liked that function for power saving) or at least not yet.
I'm going to try Radio ROM 1.08 and 1.18 as per suggestions in other forums (as I'm hanging when I now sync using the cradle) and will let you know if anything changes.
Regards - Mallow1
NB I'm using Version 1.1.0.0 of BT Tools not 1.0.1.2 (the one downloadable above). See the actual site for details of the differences:-
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html
Upgraded to Radio ROM 1.18, BT Tools now appears again in the Today Screen but is completely inert re autoshut off (the only feature I'm now interested in given the ROM enhancements). So I'm unloading it and will serach for another BT manager with the same auto BT on/off feature.
Hope that was of use.
Mallow1
PS didn't try 1.08
I'm gald that you got the BT Tools to work for you. When I upgraded to WM2003 se and tried to set up my Jabra BT200A back up, it was no go. I could hear the caller, but the headset mic was non working, only the mic on the device. So I tried the BT Tools, to no avail.
The proverbial cake icing was that BT Tools made the device speaker phone quick working as well. Un-install BT Tools, and I get the speakerphone back, but still woe is me, no practical functionality out my trusty Jabra.
Any thoughts?
BTH tools 1.0.1.2 run just fine under WM 5.0 ROM 1.60c.
Especially ActiveSync via BT with several other computers works like a charm.
BTH tools 1.1.0.0 do not function correctly. Both profiles do exactly the same, either auto-switch or not and ActiveSync over BT does not work properly.
Sascha
Thanks SaBo,
I'll give it a whirl as it would be nice to have the auto BT on/off back again.
Chelms,
I trust SaBo's comments work 4u too. If not the only thing I can suggest (not being a jabra200 user myself) is to surf the forums. I know a lot has been written about getting the jabra BT800 working properly with HTC kit (Jabra state that it isn't compatable but I think the BA forum have been chasing it as a bit of a Holy Grail). I can't recall if they definitievly got there but I think they did. You may find something on your headset too. You can also try Buzz's forums on a similar search since he has been the one to work WM5 magic (http://buzzdev.net/). Further afield you might try Howard's Forum (http://www.howardforums.com/)
Regards - Mallow1
For all those still using Pocket Bluetooth Tools in WM5 (not for its BT profiles as they aren't needed any more but for the functionality of BT auto on/off and the two power/ screen saver profiles via the Today screen) FYI I'm currently running TofClock WM5 1.71a (working like a charm) and BTHTools 1.1.0.0 (which is also working like a charm.... NB the cab version as oddly enough I couldn't get the PC exe version to work). Just ensure that after installation your registry has theses settings entered under:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\Bluetooth Tools
then add new values of:
Type Name Data
REG_SZ DLL BTHToday.dll
REG_DWORD Enabled 1
REG_DWORD Flags 0
REG_DWORD Options 0
REG_DWORD Order 32
REG_DWORD Type 4
NB Order is just the position number in the Today screen list so just tweak it via WM's start\settings\personal\Today route or type a number which suites you directly when entering the values above.
Regards - Mallow 1
PS anyone know a similar program (not the BT profiles part just the auto BT on/ off amd with a taskbar icon... like an enhanced version of BTIcon.exe.... In fact BTIcone.exe with auto on/off would be perfect... of to try another search)
FYI BTTools 1.1.0.0 cab works under TofClock's "WM5 2.01a 64 WWE" but not under the clean WM5 ROM posted by Buzz (i.e 2.00a).

Hackerz: "Emulate" Nokia BT- Functions...

As posted before somewhere in this forum, I have a "Ford S-max" with a bluetooth car kit.
This car- kit works fine with Nokia Handies: can read their phonebook, access the last called numbers, etc...
It does not work very comfortable with the MDA Vario 2 (Hermes), doesn't matter which radio- Version, Rom, etc. (at the moment I use Schaps 3.30b and Radio 1.43, a very good and stable combination).
not comfortable means: I can dial numbers and hang up. I can also redial the last called number by pressing the green phone.
That's all...
I ask myself, if someony could imagine a software, to "emulate" the nokia's bluetooth- Stack on a Hermes to get the same functionality with the car-kit as with an original Nokia- phone...
Thanx for suggestions

I use it on my athena (WM6), universal (WM6), hermes (WM5) and wizard (wm6) and it works great.
And you've tried unistalling and reinstalling the software? Other than that I don't know what could cause this. If you don't use "speed voice dial" then try disabling that and see what happens. I doubt it'll fix the problem though.

This software virtually drinks battery juice I tried it yesterday and I was down to 40% by 4pm not doing anymore calls etc. different from what I usually do. I use MS Voice Command, but never went below 60% after my normal day at work, and that was the only new-comer on my device so I quickly ejected him
the speed voice dial is integrated in the rom of ameo and i dont see any way to uninstall it...
i have unlocked the cid and I will try to use the HTC rom

Disable voice dial from registry. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand. Set LanchAPEnable from 1 to 0 and VoiceCmdDuration from 10 to 300 The VoiceCmdDuration is the time during which the phone sents audio to bluetouth headset in seconds

That is because I've integrated a [email protected] client in the background of btIO ;-)
This code cannot eat battery because it does nothing. Use a good task manager and watch the cpu load caused by btIO and you will see that it simply does nothing. It only checks every 5 seconds in which state the bluetooth radio is, and if the state is not changed (e.g. from visible to unvisible or from on to off) it simply does nothing. If the state is changed it only switches the icon.
BUT, I've also watched battery drain while using bluetooth. In WM5 I had bluetooth on the whole day without any significant battery drain, but in wm6 this changes. What you can do is to enable power saving for the bt-audio gateway in the registry. This helps alot.
Cheers

Voice Command activated by Bluetooth

Hi people,
I just bought myself a Prophet so now I'm putting it through the paces configuring it the way I want it.
Everything is dandy on the new ROM I flashed (Prophet ROM CE OS 5.2.20721) but I am having trouble getting MS Voice Command to activate via Bluetooth.
I did a search in the forums but could not find anything on it, my question is does anyone here use BT with MSVC and can they activate MSVC with their bluetooth? If so, what ROM are you using, and what Radio Version? I'd like to get this to work as it is the most important app for me in a phone.
Thanks
Try read this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-256855.html
Thanks, that trick never worked for me over 5 different devices, but anyway the good news is, for some reason, it suddenly worked.
I currently have Vincent's Speedy Diamond ROM (Build 20273.1.3.3) with radio 2.69. I installed Voice Command 1.6.19209, and it did not work. Then I uninstalled it, reinstalled VC 1.6.19213, still no dice, then I uninstalled that then reinstalled VC 1.6.19209, then it *still* didn't work.
Then I did a soft reset and all of a sudden it works. =_= The world is a mysterious place.
did you check this?
This cab is good for me, but to make it work with the button on your bluetooth headset
you also need to do the following changes in the registry:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule\"Windows\OEMAGW.dll"
My headset only make the "input speech name" after this change.
regards
Thanks. I prefer MS Voice Command but I'll use that if ever the miracle that happened screws up later. For now it somehow worked so I'll just hope it stays fixed!

VoIP Finally

I have been trying to set up a VoIP client on my Windows Mobile phone for a long time, starting with the HTC Wizard which I could never get to work.
I have finally managed to get a VoIP client with a really nice interface working on several phones that I have tried it on.
I am using ViaTalk as my provider but it should work with any VoIP provider.
It works great (with a slight delay, nothing that I can't live with) on an unlocked HTC Sprint Touch Pro 2, a T-Mobile HD2, a HTC Diamond and an HTC Fuze.
The application is by NCH software out of Australia and it is free to use, or if you want to unlock all of the features of the application, download and register the business edition.
Here is the URL for the download:
http://www.nch.com.au/talk/pocket.html
Or if you would like, PM me and I will be happy to send it to you as an attachment to an email.
Only known issue is when the phone goes in to power saver mode it drops the WiFi connection but that should be an easy fix, right now I am simply pressing the power button and it comes right back and the connection is still alive.

I am using the paid version but the only difference is that it unlocks some additional features that most people proably don't need anyway.
It is not trialware so it has no expiration.
thx you man, i'm trying this app since yesterday; works good!! easy to configurate, i'm using the free version because; i don't have 2 line, i don't use conferente mode... but it will be interesting trying these features xD
How does this app compare to AgePhone?
Hello,
why not to give a try to PortGo !
http://www.portsip.com/softphone.htm
The free version is sufficient and very simple to use, even with several providers (I currently use 2). Skin and language are easy to adapt if necessary (I've made it for French), see also here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508715

I really couldn't tell because I have never tried AgePhone.
I have tried most of the different VoIP clients mentioned throughout this site but I have never been able to get one to work right until I tried this one.
It could be that I am too stupid to configure them right or it could also be that they simply don't work very well, I can't say.
As for PortSIP, I never got it to work right and the developer dropped off line a while back as far as I can remember.
This little VoIP client that I am using has got a clean interphase, it is easy to configure, it does not require any special "helper" apps. so I am happy with it.
Hope that some of you enjoy it too.
I sincerely don't know the use of that softphone over the built-in VoIP for WinMo (WM65VoIP.cab, ultimate.VOIP.WM6.5.cab - available in several threads here) - except you need 2 lines? Especially as these guys do not use the WinMo address book! I don't want to manually add 600 adresses to any additional phone book.
The above mentioned cabs integrate into WinMo and use WiFi or 3G-connections. The phone rings as ususal and displays who called (from WinMo address book). The call is even entered into WinMo callog (only disadvantage: You don't see if a call was made/received via GSm or VoIP). I use them on my TP2 (WinMo 6.1), HD2 (WinMo 6.5.5) and even had a cab file for HTC Artemis (WinMo 5). All works/worked pretty well
So what's the use of these softphones?

I have mine set so that the light always stays on until I turn it off(I turn off auto back-light, my preference). So, no issues there. Additionally, I think there is a setting or app that will allow WiFi to run even while the phone sleeps. Or perhaps it is set into a low-power mode until the power key is pressed?
Howto in France ?
It seems great but how could I make it work in France.
My provider (mobile or at home) is SFR.
Thanks in advance to all for your answers.

I finally got around to attaching the setup file to my original post so it can now be downloaded directly from this site
Hi,
I suggest to please change the title to "Express Talk for WM".
I already tested it on my Ultimate 8502. I can call but can not receive incoming call. It ring but after receiving, it stop ringing with no active call and no sound. Any solution?
thanks

After installing Pocket Talk and configuring it I get the message that my handheld device is blocking UDP port no 8000 and 5060. Of course it isn't but I can't make callas. Has anyone had the same problem?
installation unsuccessful
It fails to install for me...
I connect my HTC Mega (Windows Mobile 6.5, moded rom), I start the setup, my phones screen shows the installer but than says "Installation of NCH Swift Sound Pocket Talk.CAB was unsuccessful"
Doesnt matter if I choose MainMemory of StorageCard.. there is plenty of free space on both of them.
Any Ideas? Are there any prerequisites? I checked the NCH forum but couldnt find any help...
PS: trying to install directly from the .cab it leaves on my storage card wont work either
Hi sorry for my bad english, setup doesn't work on my hd2 why???

I'm also using WMVoIP and my phone is enabled by default to use VoIP when wi-fi gets enough data traffic, so I don't need other VoIP apps except for second lined. Usually I switched off the phone radio and whitched on the wifi radio and VoIP wasd enabled as default phone line.
But my problem is now I can use VoIP over 3G at no penalization from my phone provider, and I can't set my phone to use VoIP by default.
Is there a way to set VoIP the first option and phone the second one, using 3G (not wifi) ?

Thanks !
It works fine on my HTC Touch Pro cdma with wm6.1.
But I don't like the fact I can't use my original contact list...
Hey Guys,
Im wondering what would be better for me, Im based in the UK and I want to know if Using a VoIP Service such as Skype or get a Dedicated Phone line put into my address? what do you guys think?
