Tried to run the new cingular rom, it crashed 1/2 way through, now it boots to the Windows screen and stops. I tried everything on the Wiki. When I do the SDCard flashing, it says 'not allowed'.

Thanks, i read your thread at least twice, my problem is exactally the same. My phone is hosed. I'm going to send it in as soon as I get the info (glad i just got a 3125 as backup). What a day!!!
What is the status of yours?
Could you please define "crashed half way through" a bit more? It might help uncover the root cause. Was there a bluescreen on your PC? Did the RUU updater crash? If so do you recall what message that was displayed? Somehow you got to 25% before this problem happened.
at about 25%, it stopped for a while, then an error came up on the PC (sorry, can't remember what it was) but it gave me some options to start over or repair installation based on what the phone was doing. I choose to repair and that's where it all ended.
One note (probably stupid on my part) I was using a USB hub, not directly into the PC, not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. There was nothing that inturrupted my PC.
spartanrob, do not throw in the towel yet... check which CID do you have, which bootloader version do you have, and try SD-card flashing with a rom matching your CID.

What do you see in "info 2" BootLoader command?
hmmm USB hubs can be problematic for sure. It sounds like some sort of hardware based communication issue happened. I am very leary about this new flashing process because of this. 25 minutes is an awful long time for something to go wrong.

Yes, you have to type in the command into the bootloader "USB>" prompt.

Yes seems exactly the same error... very weird
Will let you know if I find someting for you guys... keep monitoring both threads and keep me informed if you find anything else that can useful to troubleshoot this.

Yup...Germany for my TyTN as well...which shipping service will you use? I'm probably going to buy a JasJam in the meantime, as I need a device and this think will probably be gone for at least a month.
I think i'm going to use USPS, insured obviously. I picked up the customs forms this morning.

Currently I am upgrading to a rom which just gave me a wong vendor ID....
When you start up the upgrade whilst you are connected via activesync it goes into a bootloader state.....then it gave me the wrong vendor id....
I kept my TYTN in this state and started the RUU_HERMES_HTC_WWE_1[1].35.255.2_1.35.255.102_1.08.00.10_SHIP.EXE file again, after accepting the terms again the upgrade started....and is currently running. It seems to be running very slowly (ie it seems to be connected via serial.....)
But lets hope this works, otherwise I have a bricked TYTN by the end of this day.......
I'll keep you all posted,

It worked like a charm, the beginning was very slow but then it went very easily from 16% to 66% and then it finished...
So we got a workaround, I hope it also works with the rest ;-)

Did you have bootloader 1.04 when you started? This sounds exactly like the 1.04 "bug" which allowed different CID ROMs using just this technique.

No, and in fact now you are probably hosed as you can't go back unless you have a proper-CID flash with 1.04 *OR* you can find the pirated/hacked bootloader to sneak back to 1.04

Just got a X01HT after Dec, version is 1.09. After reading all these threads, is it possible to use "DownGrade_SPL.rar" downgrade to 1.04 as I know sim unlock is still not available yet, just want to use chinese rom instead..........

1.04 has a bug. even if you get an error message when you try to burn a rom from another company, do nothing with your device and run the same update again on your pc. you can update the rom this time.

Yes, because softbank 1.14 radio doesn't allow to be upgraded even if you flash another ROM this radio will be kept in your device.
Ok so I have a little problem with the whole 1.09 -> 1.04 thing.
I have been searching for a couple days or so and gathering some information about it, but I don't think that anyone has had my problem yet. I have a pre-Dec. x01ht, and I stupidly upgraded to 1.09 (don't ask why; I'm still kicking myself). So after trying to downgrade with a couple different versions of the 1.04 provided here with no avail, I found the downgrade_spl file that has been floating around. Each time I keep getting the same problems.
When I active sync with my computer and start the downgrade (upgrade?) process i get past the first preliminary check with the phone and when it jumps to the second check, the phone resets into the tri-color screen for about half a second, and then a white upgrade looking screen. after that the phone checks itself and everything says "ok", but it never resyncs with the computer. The computer stays on the screen that would show a progress bar, but after it hangs there it gets an error screen. i also tried doing everything from the boot mode (the tri-color menu), and that also gets an error. when i try from the boot mode, the both of the progress bars start, but before either go anywhere they both the computer screen comes up with an error in the program. it asks me if i want to recover or view the file, and recover also doesnt work.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so how did you go about solving this dillema?

1. a few days ago i tied to flash the new radio rom 1.38.00.11 on my device so i put it manually in bootloader mode (my SPL is "1.10.Oli") and everything went without any error but afterward radio is still the old 1.16.00.00, then i flashed it using SSPL
2.I spotted "Hard-SPL-V2" and flashed it on my current "1.10.Oli" then no RUU managed to connet to this new "1.11.Oli" spl ,what a great way to BRICK your device, so flashed the previous version using SSPL
3.and the most strange thing my ExtROM seems to be locked and I cannot flash on it, no matter what I try it's not flashable, so when I want to flash a rom I have to extract it and make sure that the nbh file does not contian ExtRom.

anyway, here's what you need to do;
flash 1.13 to your phone, from here on in, you must use CustomRUU (download it from the thread) to flash stuff to your phone; just drop an NBH in with CustomRUU and run it and pick your SPL, easy.

just ran the unlocking program from GSM Liberty. how can i tell if my phone is unlocked?
Seems what they provided is only SIM unlock but not CID unlock.
To test for SIM unlock, just place a SIM with other operator to see if you can make a call.
To test for CID unlock, flash any OS-only RUU to see if the OS actually changes.

For your Wizard sake read and then use the tool, you have to use "CID Actions" button, then hit Go when "Read CID block" pop up appears.
Ah...yes this tool can show CID, however I can't use that, the program just wait forever...

Hi, I literally opened the nexus 9 out of the box, powered it on & after choosing a wifi network it began updating, the device crashed during this update and now it won't boot! I've tried & searched for everything, anyone have any ideas?
Booting to recovery with HW buttons, wiping cache/userdata/factory reset - Nada!
Can boot into fastboot, no permission to flash as oem unlock is disabled!
I cant get into the tablet to unlock fastboot oem unlock within devOpitons or usb debugging etc, (com.android.phone has stopped on boot) black screen indefinitely.
I can't flash any images while it is locked

I'd just return it. I'm no expert, but I'd seek a way to avoid the update during setup and try to postpone it until you unlock developer options and OEM unlock. I'm not sure how you'd bypass the update during setup, but you're in the right place if it's possible.

Certainly it can. If it started to install the 5.0.2 OTA, there have been a lot of bricks.

Welcome. And FWIW: there's a button for that.
If I remember correctly you can still flash the stock images even with the boot loader locked. Its only custom images that google will not accept unless you unlock boot loader.

Bootloader has to be unlocked to "fastboot flash" anything.
You can sideload an OTA with a locked bootloader, but you have to be able to access recovery.

Indeed I'm still new to nexus devices. I've been flashing on Samsung devices for years so I'm still stuck in my Odin ways. Just got the N9 less then a week ago. The whole fastboot thing was foreign at first but I'm getting there lol. Thank you again.
