case suggestions - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Accessories

Does anyone have any TyTN case suggestions? Something with a low profile so that it doesn't add to the pocket bulk, yet still allows the keyboard to slide out?

Isn't there something like this out there but that has a belt clip/holster option?
I want something where you can open the keyboard without removing anything, but that you could clip to your belt. Surely I'm not the first...

Great link Mike. Any recommendations? I'm looking for a case to fit into a bad/pocket rather than on my belt.

I started with the Shield Zone treatment... full body treatment. The top was fairly unprotected. There was a piece supplied that I believe was supposed to go there, but it didn't fit. Or at least I couldn't figure out how it fit. It's a decent solution for scratching and such, but not total protection. I can also see the edges of the applied material gathering lint, dust, etc. eventually becoming really grimey.
Also, the screen protector from Shield Zone sucks. It's too thick and nearly impossible to get a clear and clean application. It also has too much drag to comfortably use the stylus. Instead, I strongly suggest the Anti-glare from Boxwave instead. Used them on other PDAs and my Treo in the past. Much better quality, easily washable and reusable, very easy on the eyes and still easily usable with a stylus:
http://www.boxwave.com/products/easyfinder/buy-best-htc-tytn-accessories_2076.htm
Earlier this week, this case showed up:
http://pdaden.com/shop/cart.php?target=product&action=view&product_id=18122&substring=tytn
It definitely provides drop/bump/scratch protection. I may rip the flip screen off since I have the Boxwave on it. But overall, it doesn't add too much bulk, makes the phone easier to hold on to and even offers a degree of splash protection. I also don't care for clips, preferring to keep my phone in a front pocket.

This phone is huge! I feel like i'm smuggling a brick when i have it in the pocket. I can't believe there is not a cover out there being made that lets you clip it, but i still haven't found it.

I totally agree - I have not seen a simple belt clip yet so I'm waiting for seidio to make a spring clip swivel holster like i had for the 8125. http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=302
I've emailed Seidio and asked if/when availability for ther 8525 holster is coming and have not heard back yet. Maybe if others email them, they'll hurry the process. I'm sure they were waiting to see how popular the phone is before they commit to making it...
In the meantime, I'm using my old Treo 650 leather case, and it fits perfectly. It's just a bit bulky versus a lower profile clip and holster...

This case is the best design i have seen as it is the only one that opens without any removal. You clip on in 2 pieces, 1 on the front and 1 for back. The keyboard will open without having to remove anything, since its 2 seperate pieces.... Now if they could just add a clip to the back of that it is perfect.
Not sure I love the holster idea b/c you still have to unclip it, and i may not want it on the belt all the time. But it may be the best bet out there, that is if its out there!

I received this today (12/11) from Seidio tech support:
Thank you for your interest in our products. We are expecting the new holster for Cingular 8525 available in a week later.
Thank You for contacting Seidio

also recommend the shieldzone, they have it for the HERM100 and HERM200 variants
not 100% complete cover, but enough to give you a piece of mind from minor scratches.

Krusell Orbit with Multidapt - Anyone had experience?

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Krusell Orbit with Multidapt for the I-Mate JasJam (or similar)? Just wanted to make sure there were no magnets or foreseeable issues with the case before I went ahead and purchased?
Elite_Gamer04
It's not available yet. Expected to be released on Nov. 6
If you look at the pictures of the Krusell, while it looks very nice (I had one before for my Blue Angel and it was super), this one looks a bit clumsy. To slide the keyboard you've got to pop that button and have that awkward extra flap with the window open. And to take a photo you've got to bend the top flap way back. So, I'm not crazy about those two items. See the Krusell.
I just bought (but haven't received) the ORA Premium Chairman's Case (god what a lame name). ORA is apparently expansys/mobile planet's own brand. I think the design looks much more usable. You just open the case and slide the keyboard, no second thing to unbotton. And to take photos there is just a permanent cut-out, so no extra thing to move out of the way. The lens is somewhat recessed anyway, so I don't anticipate much reduced protection.See ORA Premium Chairman's Case
Another very nice one that seemed very functional (and much like my old Krusell for the Blue Angel) is this PDAir case. I really liked that one but went with the ORA because it looked a bit more protective, useful, etc. Otherwise I would have bought this one.
Anyway, that's my take on it...
Quincy
Actually this is a Piel Frama case. The problem I have with this case is that it has a plastic insert which goes in between keyboard and the upper part of the device. Upon the time the keyboard most likely will become loose and you won't be able to use the PPC without this case any more. And plastic itself will wear out quickly

That ORA Premium Chairman's (you're right, what a terrible name!) case looks like the best I've seen yet.
Anyone know if it's available from any UK outlets?
The name just underlines the fact that this case is three times more expensive then almost any other case

Your past experience may differ quite a bit from mine, but in my experience having the same style of plastic cover thing to retain a device (Krussel's Blue Angel case) the plastic never seemed to suffer any damage/problems in 2 years of use. Not saying it's an ideal design, I wish the phone/PDA designers would make some sort of camera-tripod like screw hole which would allow the phone/device to be secured to a case, a car mount, etc.

Damage, no. But I can't deny that it appeared the keyboard was looser over time. Not much looser, not problematically looser. But if that's what you mean then yes, it did become looser (i.e., slide more easily, so that at the end of 1.5 years i could shake the keyboard open). Again, I never thought it was a huge problem, but certainly not ideal.
Finally the Krusell Orbit is out and mine is supposed to be shipped tomorrow.

I expect to get it on on Monday.
how do you like it so far? I'm looking to purchase this too but then again with this whole talk about the plastic making the keyboard and base loose is worrying me. I rather not have that problem.
Please do tell.
I have the Piel Frama case in black. Its ok, the clear vynil goes ontop of the keyboard which holds the device in the case.
The problem is that everytime you want to close the keyboard, the vynil bends as it is not a snug fit but its a big deal.
Also, i am sceptical of it losening my keboard lock mehcanisms.
Now I am searching for clear crystal two part case so the device is always protected even when the keyboard is out and using a screen protector as well. Has anyone found a crystal clear hard case? I know that there are some for the WIZARD, but I havent seen any for the HERMES.

Well, I've received the case but still hesitant to put the device into it. The plastic insert and magnetic lock are my two main concerns.
Currently I'm using black aluminum case and pretty happy with it except the fact that the radio and bluetooth signal levels are lower when device is placed into the case.
joedoe,
you are talking about the krusell orbit that you have received? If so, have you tried putting in the 8525 to see if the plastic is something that jasjamming is experiencing with the plastic folding back due to fitting?
Hi all,
I just bought this case and am waiting for it to arrive, I have not used the original case at all as I see it as stupid for me, the chance of me dropping it while I am trying to remove it from the case everytime it rings or I need to use it is quiet high. I first bought the silicon case of ebay but still to much of the phone was unprotected.
This silicon case seems to cover the entire phone completely, even with a screen cover, I just can't work out how it stays on the phone, you will get what I mean from the picture. I will let you know when it arrives.

Yes, I've tried it. It was pretty difficult to put my TyTN into the case and even more difficult take it out.
The plastic isn't folding back because it stays under the keyboard even when it's opened.
It's very inconvenient to use the device as a phone in this case because the flap rests right on the top of a head or you have to bend it back and hold with your index finger.
I guess I'll stay with the aluminum case for now.

They do two or three of them but this one was what I was after, just something to carry it around & clip on me belt
I have one of the ones that kwburress wrote about and found it to be an excellent piece of workmanship, but, I also found that PDAir have some aluminium cases which are handy as well. Thanks to both Prospro and kwburress for their input...

Looking for a case like SEIDO for TP2

I used to have SEIDIO cases for my mogul and touch pro... but it seems they havent made one for the Touch pro 2 yet... i just got my TP2 today and ill give myself 1 week tops before i drop it So i need one badly!
So with that i want someone to recomend me a case like the ones SEIDIO makes... i like the rubber/plastic feel/construction and at the same time like that they use very thin/light material... any help is greatly appreciated!

Me to!
Exactly what I'm waiting for as well - can't find yet for my month old Sprint TP2. Anybody finds similar I'd love to hear about it.
Hard Case definitely needed
I would like a hard case for my AT&T Tilt 2 (Touch Pro 2). If anyone has any information, please share it!
BUMP :s
Anyone?
Acrylic Case for Tilt 2 found
Check this out: http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-details/?device=HTC+Tilt2&q_sku=sku4030272
click on the "compatible accessories tab"
Amazingly, AT&T is the first to offer a "naked acrylic case" for the Tilt 2. It sounds like a Seidio-type case, except the case has an attached screen protector. The photo is horrible and I don't know of any AT&T store that carries these cases so, someone will have to take the plunge for us to find out what they're like. If I decide to buy it, I will certainly post photos and a review here.
I picked up the clear case when I got my Tilt 2 this weekend. Local ATT store in California had it in stock. The case is by Case Mate. It is pretty nice. The thin plastic over the screen is not causing any problems, but it tends to stick to the screen, so you do get these little air bubbles in spots. I'm hoping that if I really clean the screen well that problem will go away. I'm getting a little grit under the screen at the edges. I don't know if that will be a problem.
It does not add much to the size of the phone, so I'm happy.
ThomD, can you post photos of the case? Also, I assume the case is two pieces, can you confirm? Is it possible to cut the screen cover part off and use an affixed screen cover?
Willl the ATT case fit my Sprint TP2?
Photos later today, if work isn't too busy.
The case is two pieces. With a dremel is should be easy to take out the screen protector part, it is very thin compared to the rest of the case.
If Sprint and ATT have the same button layout it should work for Sprint phones.
I have the sedio case for my Treo Pro that I bought from sprint and the sprint touch pro 2 fits in the case perfectly!!! I love that it faces inward and protects the screen.

I'm just going to wait for the Seidio becuase no one else makes a holster that works with the case and keeps the screen facing in, protecting it. Well not that I know of. If there is another lmk.
I also like that they are making a dock station for it that will be compatible with the case.
I went to Pocket Solutions and bought their leather Prestige case for the VZW TP2...a touch of elegance and with the belt clip.
However, I, too, am waiting for the new cases from Seidio...just received their extended 1750 battery and like it very much!

Looks like the Seidio Innocase Surface is now pre-orderable and offically ships on 11/9. Hopefully they'll have the holster to go with it by then as well and maybe even the cradle.

Anyone have any experience with a case from Ventev? I've never even heard of them, but looking at their site it seems they make a lot of products.
Anyways I found this http://www.tessco.com/products/displayProductInfo.do?sku=532148&eventPage=1.
Honestly never heard of them myself. The price looks like it may be on the high end for what it seems to be, but if it's good quality then it'd be worth it. If you get one, post back and let us know how it is. I have a cheap Ebay TPU case on the way for now but I'm keeping my eye out for a good one.

Thanks, I saw that. I've had 2 piece cases on my other phones in the past (incipio, body glove) and I actually prefer the cheap TPU ones best. The cheap TPU ebay/amazon ones (like this: http://tinyurl.com/ct4ktzd) are really low profile, slide in and out of the pocket easily, are flexible yet firm enough to absorb shock from reasonably high drops and only cost like $3. Hopefully someone comes out with one for the OG soon. I might buy one of those ones you linked to in the meantime.

Dropped my phone this morning, no damage but I decided I couldn't wait around for a case I actually liked and ordered one of those foryourcell ones. I'll post some pictures and write up a little review when I receive it.

I will be gone all week for work, so you will probably have yours first. Will look for your post.
Ventev Case
The case arrived and fits the AT&T LG Optimus G E970.
The case consists of 2 parts, a TPU case and a Polycarbonate back cover. The Polycarbonate back cover can be taken off and you can then just use the TPU case.
All buttons remain functional with the case even though the case covers them, and all of the ports and the camera remain functional and accessible.
I have no problem slipping in or taking the phone out of my pocket with the case on.
The case does add significant thickness and heft to the phone, but the case seems solid.
I should mention that I ordered the case from Amzer.com, but it looks identical, and has Ventev printed on the back Polycarbonate cover.

Thanks for the info. Can you, please, check that there are cut outs for both mics (the top and the bottom)? Thanks.

Can you please take some pictures when you have some free time? The only picture online is the one just showing the back.
What about power button notification light?

The quality isn't great, but it should give you an idea.
Let me know if you need something clearer and I'll get out my DSLR.

The notification light gets covered up unfortunately.
Here's some crappy pictures. Only complaint is the tpu rubber part fits really tight. It was hard to get in and lifted up the corner of the screen protected. But took it straight from mailbox and put on phone, so maybe I should have let it warm up.
Thanks for the pictures, folks. I'll probably go ahead and get the Ventev case for now until Otterbox comes out If it does, of course).
So, from what I see, the Amzer and Ventev cases are identical, except for the logo on the back?

Toughest Belt clip case for N3....:) :)

Hi Guys
Has any one of you tried this Amzer belt clip case for his/her N3....????
Well I would like to mention one more thing that I have used the case of this manufacturer first time ever...and m really pleased to buy this one....the quality of this belt clip is just awesome....I use it at my work place and even in long daily run too and it really makes me feel worry free regarding my N3.....the toughness of this belt clip is the material of being tested I have checked it with many other belt clip owners and in all the case it did justice with me :good:...so I am really impressed and excited about this product quality and have also dropped a mail to the manufacturers(Amzer) to discuss about the material they have used for creating it....
Is there any one who has tried this one or the similar one...having some great experience.....???
Please do post and share your experience ...
Don't have one for my note 3. This is the first I've seen of it though this is what I've been waiting for.
I've used them on my previous phones, galaxy s4 and droid razr maxx hd. They work well. Have to be careful not to break the clips for the kickstand (they're just two tiny dots).
Fairly sturdy too.
I never used the belt clip though.

Well I have created this thread just to depict its blet clip quality because I have also used this kind of belt clip case on my previous phones but the quality of belt clip was not that much fine enough to go on for a long time...but after using this case I can say the toughness of this belt clip is really the one to be trusted and I have also mentioned in my above post that I am trying to contact the operations person or the CEO as if which product material they are using for the belt clip as it is really tough and strong one....so just waiting for a reply and will surely update you whatever they revert......
I don't have this case but i bought similar ones for my note 2 and note 1 and i only used holster/ belt clip not the case itself because the case doesn't protect the phone that much, the TOP and the Bottom of the phone is not covered so i would use a TPU case with that Holster.
Since i need a belt clip for my phone, i am gonna buy this coz you recommend that it has better belt clip and thats what i need not the case.

Can you post pictures of the actual item on your phone? I'd like to see this case and not just the stock website photo. Thanks!
Where to buy...??? Can you please post the link...??? Thank you...
This is the exact one they sell at the Verizon store. They are alright but the top and bottom aren't protected.

Yes it is the same one....yes its not that much covered from top and bottom as I was looking for a sturdy belt clip case one for me so there it goes much better on comparison to other one available in the market and moreover it does not even hamper the screen on putting it on table from screen side ...not so much pricey even ...so its worth of its cost to go for it on behalf of considering the product quality....
