Vista, Activesync, or Win Mob Dev centre, WM5 - help

I am trying to help a friend who is in another country to set up his newly acquired WM5 ver TyTn.
He has Vista, and already has tried to sync with the old Activesync 4.5 but Vista sees no connection to the device.
Does anyone here know if the new Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for Windows Vista would work with his WM5 phone?
I would be looking to upgrade it to WM6 when he next visits but not to keen on talking him through it remotely!
In the meantime if he had a solution to sync his phone it would be great.
Thanks,
Al
WMDC is the replacement (or latest version fo Active sync).
Activesync is for XP and WMDC is for Vista.
To your question........I have not attempted a WM5 connection with WMDC...........but I believe it would work.
Good luck

I am pretty sure that it has been warned to NOT USE VISTA (any flavor), for doing anything with ROMS, that is what has stopped me so far. Im now dual booting XP at home so I can continue.
Hi Sting32:
Thanks for your reply...it's very curios...I have another PDA...HTC-TyTN...and always...I'm update it without problem with Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1.6965 into the Windows Vista 64-bits.
Maybe, I need to get a computer with Windows XP to upgrade the SPL for my HTC MOGUL PPC-6800.
In Boodloader Mode I have the following:
TITA100
SPL-1.07.0000
CPLD-9
That's why I need to update to SPL-2.4-olipro
Thanks anyway
TecMan
I run Vista x64 and I haven't had any problems what so ever installing the Olipro 2.40 SPL or any custom roms. Not trying to be rude so please don't take the following as such, have you read the instructions in detail? I had problems the first time I tried to put the previous version of Olipro SPL on the Mogul. I thought I was doing something wrong. You can always just throw your phone in to bootloader mode by pressing the power and camera button and then pushing the stylus in to the reboot hole. Try to install it from this point.
Error [262]: Update Error
Hi tavella:
Thanks for your reply....well...I run my HTC MOGUL PPC-6800 in Bootloader Mode (SPL-1.07.0000) and then I run ROMUpdateUtility to update the SPL to 2.40-olipro and I got the following:

- and finally ERROR [262]: UPDATE ERROR
I needed to do the recovery procedure and tired again and got the same results.
Can you help me?

Hi Friends:
I solved the Error [262]: Update Error, it was very simple...
1. I run the Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 with Windows XP-SP2 and then run Hard-SPL-MFG.exe and my NEW SPRINT HTC MOGUL PPC-6800 got a Bootloader Mode with 2.4.Olipro
2. I run RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.35.651.2_RS_TITAN_3.35.04_4 350H_SPCS_AM_Ship.exe and I had the following:
Windows Mobile 6 Professional
CE OS 5.2.1629 (Build 18136.0.4.8)
ROM version: 3.35.651.2
ROM date: 02/22/08
Radio version: 3.35.04
3. in Bootloader Mode, I run DCD_3.0.1_Sprint and I had the following:
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
CE OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19199.1.0.0)
ROM version: dcd 3.0.1
ROM date: 02/22/08
Radio version: 3.35.04
Thank you for your support and now my NEW SPRINT HTC MOGUL PPC-6800 is working great!!!

TecMan,
The reason you might be experiencing a problem is because I started with Olipro 1.20 and updated to Olipro 2.40 before I installed the 3.16 beta rom. The Olipro 1.20 might be the key. I hope this helps others that might have a problem upgrading with Vista 32/64.
All you had to do was install the olipro 2.40 using WMDC FIRST. If you were stuck in bootloader then that might be a different story. But if you weren't then get out of the bootloader screen, connect through activesync/WMDC, and then install Olipro 2.40. I have done all of my flashes on Vista and had nothing but success.

Need CLEAN WinMo 6.5 rom for my HTC Tytn

Hello, this is my first post.
I have bought an SPV M3100 (HTC Tytn). It is my second WinMo phone with touchscreen (first was Eten x500). I've unlocked it (SIM and SuperCID). I've seen here some WM6.5 roms, but they ware moded. I want a CLEAN (original) version of WinMo 6.5 (to customize it myself how i like). I want the WWE version (Romania).
Also, I want to know if WinMo 6.5 have Mass Storage option for card, or i will need a 3rd party program (becouse i don't like ActiveSync) ?

Hi all of you!
I have a Hermes (HTC Tytn/ Orange SPV M3100) and i succesfully tried a lot of ROM’s until these days..
But, this happened:
During upgrade of a ROM, i made the mistake to disconect the device from the PC..
And, now the problem is that i can’t boot ANY OTHER ROM!
I can enter to BootLoader , where i see
HERM100
I PL – 1.04
HERM100
SPL – 2.03
ALSO, i CAN connect to PC (it displays „usb” & i see it on Device manager)
(PC run Vista Ultimate 64 bit).
But, when i try to upgrade ANY ROM , the process starts, BUT STOPS at 0% ? .
I searched & read 4 days for a SOLUTION to make my phone alive again..
Can anyone tell me what to do?
Is a REAL solution for this issue?
Please reply.
Thanks!
