Crossbow in hermes - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

My friend just got the hermes running the crossbow os, would someone tell me how to dump the rom out? Need urgen reply cause he will leave hong kong tomorrow.

First try Buzz's rom dumper. It's available here
There are reports that it won't work which may be related to the Hermes microSD slot. I'd try the miniSD version of Buzz's pgm first.

There are various ways to dump the ROM from a live device, I don't know which one will be the most reliable or will be more helpful to reconstruct the ROM after the dump, so if possible dump the rom in all methods explained here:
1) itsutils pdocread, as explained in the WIKI:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_HowtoDumpRom
This is IMHO the most reliable method, first use 'pdocread -l' to list all partitions, then dump ALL them in "raw" files. Feel free to ask if you need help or are unsure in any of the steps.
2) As Sleuth255 suggested, you can also try grab_it! tool from buzz, but I don't know if it will work or not.
3) There is also mamaich's TestWM5.exe, which dumps files and modules to SD card, but I think the dump will not be useful for creating a valid imgfs after, anyway try this method too.
4) It will be also useful if you dump the bootloader on this device: Run gnuharet.exe on the device, then telnet to port 9999 and issue this command: 'pwf splfile 0x30000000 0x40000' in gnuharet.exe
This will dump the running SPL in a file called "splfile" in the folder where you run gnuharet from. It will probably be corrupted by wince usb host buffers, but anyway will be useful too.
Good luck and feel free to ask if you have problems

Suspense is killing me... did we get a dump?

Also please, put the Hermes in bootloader mode (side ok + power button + softreset with stylus) and tell us exactly the IPL and SPL version you see in the tri-color screen. Probably we can investigate how to dump rom parts from bootloader using 'rbmc' command in mtty.

nice tease...guess i put it up for discussion in our Hermes meeting tomorrow..

Well lookey here! M$ also released a version that runs on the HTC Wizard. The Wizard was their preferred device at MEDC 2006.

I'm really wondering why they called it WM6.0 instead of SE or 5.5...

POF and other more intelligent people than me - if we do get this ROM I am more than happy to act as a guinea pig for this!! I have 2 days off work and a brand new Hermes to mess around with!

LOL I'm sure everyone will want to be a guinea pigs for this

possibly marketing...

Getting the ROM dump is only the first (most important) part. Next the talented folks here at xda developers will need to convert it to a flashable image. The Hermes architecture presents unique challenges here. I'm sure having this dump on the FTP site will add even more incentive to this effort which will also result in our ability to cook our own ROMs....

Rom upgrade problem

Started a rom upgrade, power failure :x I am NOT a developer so need simple step by step advice on what I may be able to do to recover situaton. Device says Serial 1.06, if I plug into cradle machine beeps to confirm connection and XDA II says USB 1.06.
All I have is the original Rom file and the upgrade (these are both exe's designed to run on PC to upgrade through activesync.
I do have SD card but no raw image.
What are my chances (other than sending in for repair?)

Don't panic...
Put the device into cradle (with power supply plugged) and run that update again...

Beecher, thanks for your reply. Sadly I had already tried that!
With the upgrade rom the app ran and found the XDA but reported that the update was the wrong version (I can only guess because it could not find an existing rom to update (I know the update had got as far as erasing the old one)
I did also try and run the original factory release rom prog but that did not seem to do anything at all.
what's your device type (qtek2020, i-mate, MDA II, O2 XDA II) ? ... and what was the original ROM version ?

Ouch, it looks like I missed basic information you have a XDA1/MDA1 device! I thought you have XDA2/MDA2 device.
In this case, try to find on this forum LumpiStefan ROM kitchen for XDA1/MDA1, cook you own ROM and download only ROM image. Then upload this ROM to your card and get to bootloader. It should somehow update your ROM in device.

[READ FIRST] Guide to Rom Upgrading a G4 Wizard

First, I'd like to thank all of the people on this forum, as without the forum itself I wouldn't be able to do anything
I've had my G4 Wizard for less than a month, and it's already unlocked and flashed. To all of the people who don't know how to flash I can only tell: Read! And use the search. Most of the problems have been answered hundreds of times on this forum.
I did a lot of reading before first flashing my device, and all went perfectly, from the beginning to the end.
Anyway, when I found out that my Wizard is actually a G4, I was dissapointed that there is really not a lot of info about it in here.. Especially about how to flash it (I know it's not that hard, but for those ones that don't know, the first time is terrifying ) I am going to try to make one, but if there are any mistakes, tell me please
First, I'd like to note that this is only a "tutorial" based on my personal experience. Although I didn't have any problems flashing my device, I do not take any responsibility for your actions!
Next, and this is important.. Make sure that you REALLY HAVE A G4 DEVICE and not a G3!!! Think before flashing, otherwise you can brick your device! A G4 Wizard will report an IPL and SPL similar to 2.21.0001 and a G3 PDA will report something similar to 2.21 or 2.21.001 (notice the number of 0's at the end!)
And don't forget, these actions WILL ERASE ALL OF THE INFO from your phone, so BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP! You have been warned
Some other notes:
1. Most of the custom Rom's out there will require you to CID-unlock your device (most but not all of them.. See this thread for details)
2. Yes, CID-unlocking will void your warranty
3. There is always a chance that you will brick your device, even if you do it right. But this is really unlikely, usually because you tried to use a G3 Rom on a G4 device. Be careful!
4. At the moment of writing, the only way to CID-unlock your device is via http://www.imei-check.co.uk/
5. Please don't Rush yourself! Think first, read the whole post. Remember, this is not a self-contained guide! Look through the forum to be sure that you're ready, and that you really want to do this!
And last, but not least! Please do not use your PC for the time you're Upgrading! Close all of the running applications, and wait until it will finish! Don't repeat other's mistakes.
______________________________________________________
Now, if you still want to do it, you can continuse with the steps:
0. Be sure to backup all data on your phone, close all the apps on your PC, charged your phone to a minimum of 50%!!!
1. Download the Rom you want to 'flash'. Remember, you need a G4 Rom!!! Look here or here for example.. I'm using the WM5 AKU 3.3 Rom from this forum..
Extract it on your Harddrive. Don't run it directly from WinRar or any other archiving program you're using!
2. Open your ActiveSync without your phone connected! and select File -> Delete Mobile Device. After that connect your phone, and press cancel in the window that appears. Be sure that in ActiveSync you have a "Guest" line in gray!
3. If you did everything that have been said, then you're ready to flash.. Run the RUU. Usually it's a file called "ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe". If your update utility is not in English, you can download the English files, and overwrite the ones you have (The english files is NOT a rom! You have to download a Rom first!). If you get a message like:
ERROR[300]: INVALID UPDATE TOOL
This Update Utility cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please get newer Update Utility then download the new Update Utility. Both can be found here.
4. After several "Next" clicks, your phone WILL restart. Don't disconnect it, just leave it. It will load into the bootloader (A screen with 3 colors, you'll know when you get to it), after that it will start flashing. You will see the progress bar on both your PC and PDA. Give it a LOT of time. It can flash your phone from as little as several minutes (Guess I vas lucky ) up to 10 and more minutes. Sometime, the progress bar will turn red and stop. DON'T TOUCH IT, it's not an error. It has to set up itself, so it's OK!
In case you get ann error while flashing, or your computer restarts while flashing, don't panic (for now). If your phone enters the bootloader after that (hopefully) than just run the utility again on the PC (with the phone in the bootloader) and it will start again. If the situation repeats try another ROM.
If you still have issues, uninstall ActiveSync. REBOOT! Download and install ActiveSync 4.2 Don't create a partnership.
You should be OK after these steps.
Some last words..
I may have used some words or expressions from other's people posts (mainly from this post) This was done just to be sure that I don't miss anything, and all I've said is as close to the truth as possible.. Thanks to the owners of this site, and all the people who helped it it's developement!
Enjoy!

You can't unlock without imei-check. If you did unlock through imei-check, you still can't flash a G3 rom with IPL/SPL in it unless you want a brick.

Hello all,
for some reason the only rom that G4 loads is 2.3...I have spent days trying to load 3.3 and nada.
I have followed your instructions...anyone has any?
only this works for me

I tried these
WM5_AKU3.3_Crossbow_BETA_G4

Yeah... do that and you`ll have another brick in the wall
The only difference from G3 and G4 ROMs is that the G4 ROM will NOT rewrite your IPL/SPL ... so you can flash any ROM WITHOUT the IPL/SPL parts.
AND VERY IMPORTANT ... i repeat... it does NOT matter if you have a CID UNLOCKED G4 ... if u try to flash IPL/SPL on it, you`ll have yourself another paper-weight.
I did everything, but after reboot it runs still previous Rom. Like I did't nothing...

Changing IPL/SPL
I would like to change to a newer IPL/SPL on my G4 unlocked UK T-mobile MDA Vario. I have read that I need to use one of the T-Mobile ROMS but on the xda-developers ftp server it is not obvious to me which are for a G4 phone.
Can anyone give me some recommendations please?

What I found is part of the discussion regarding G3 Wizard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435 - see the first post
Does anyone know if the US T-Mobile 2.26 ROM link in the above G3 thread is also applicable to a UK T-Mobile MDA Vario unlocked G4 and will it change my IPL/SPL to 2.26?
You can flash a new IPL/SPL on a G4, its just that theres generally no need, its risky and you have to make sure its not a G3 IPL/SPL. I think there is a newer one to 2.21.0001 but I'm not sure. I wouldn't change it if I were you as it runs fine even with latest WM6.

I have an Cingular 8125 CID & SIM Unlocked G4 phone via http://www.imei-check.co.uk/, is it safe to download to run the new T-Mobile PDA Phone ROM Update Utility 2.6 from the T-Mobile website or will I brick my phone? Because I don't know if that ROM is intended for G3 phones or has a bootloader?

As I mentioned in my posts earlier...If you download the package from your provider chances are its for G3, they do not post different versions for G3 & G4, only for G3. If you download elsewhere from the internet and the ROM is packaged...right click on the .exe package and extract the content to a folder of your choice and check the RUU installer. If it says "NoID" somewhere in its name, its most definitely for G3 OR G4 (may be installed on either device).

Upgrading Cingular 8525

I brought Cingular 8525 off Ebay over a month ago and love it. I like experimenting things to improve and learn of this website about upgrading your Hermes to make it better than stock version provided by your carrier. I have been reading this forum for almost a month now since I got this 8525 and wanted to dive into it but I would like someone to confirm the step I am plan on doing is the way to go with least risk of bricking my pda. I understand there always a risk of bricking it but I want the least risk as possible =P
From reading this forum and wiki I learn that I should do this steps but correct me if I missed a step or doing something in wrong order.
1) Since I am going to use Hard SPL I don't need to SuperCID my phone and just download Hard SPL Hard-SPL-V2.zip at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722 and flash it using usb port on a xp with activesync installed.
2) Download Radio 1.38 without gps HERM_RADIO_1.38.00.10_Only_SSPL.rar at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297925 and flash it the same method above via usb and activesync.
3) Test phone make sure everything working after 2 flashes.
4) Download WM6 ROM (I am leaning toward MWVI Black Edition v1.2) Windows_Mobile_VI_-_Black_Edition_v1.2_(Release_22-03-07_GMT+10_4am).exe at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298936 and flash it the same step as above via usb and activesync.
This part I am lost on is the statement on that forum -> "To install, run the (.exe). This will automatically push Des's SSPL to your phone although if you have security enabled then you will need to answer "Yes" to the dialogue when it appears on your phone."
Do I need to answer yes because I have Hard SPL install or is it going to overwrite my Hard SPL with Des's SSPL? I am lost about that one and wasn't sure on this.
5) Download cabs to restore Cingular data and mms settings at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1163312&postcount=1 and install it on phone.
6) Download Cingular Keyboard layout fix and install.
Also I am thinking of skipping step 2) - Radio upgrade also 4) - MWVI ROM upgrade and instead go with LVSW Edition at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298809 which came out yesterday and since it come with Radio 1.34 and are there any steps I need to do with SPL or it will flash fine with Hard SPL? then resume step 5) and 6)
In the future if I want to get a new pda and sell this one, all I need to do is download stock ROM from Cingular and flash it back on my 8525 then it should be back to the state it was like when I brought it overwriting or removing the Hard SPL and Radio and OS?
Thank for your inputs and help!

SSPL stands for SoftSPL, so no, it won't overwrite Hard-SPL. It will run 1.09.des bootloader on your device for the duration of the flash, then you'll be back to whichever SPL you had before you started. If you don't have security turned off on your device (most don't), you'll have to answer 'Yes' when SSPL is pushed to your device because it's unsigned code. It has nothing to do with being Hard-SPL.
Whether or not you'll overwrite Hard-SPL with your flash depends whether the ROM you are flashing also contains SPL (and what version it is). Best to know exactly what you're flashing before you do.
The rest of your plan looks good to me, especially step 1 being to flash Hard-SPL. While nothing can "innoculate" your device from a brick (i.e., sh*t happens), Hard-SPL does give you a way out if a flash goes south on you.
Watch the Cingular settings cabs... I've had some issues with them. I prefer to set things up manually after a hard reset, but that's just my experience. They work fine for others.
Also, IMHO the newer radios work better with WM6. The combo shown in my sig runs beautifully for me (but, as always, your mileage may vary!).

Hard SPL is only there to help recover your device if it gets bricked during a flash. The security is OS dependant and only requires you to click yes when SSPL is pushed to your phone as it indentifies it as an untrusted source. This will probably happen when you install the Radio upgrade as well. SSPL is only a temporary psuedo bootloader and will not overwrite Hard SPL or any other bootloader on your device.

Ok, if you decide to go for the LVSW ROM then download the OS only repack that is posted somewhere in that thread (not the one thats in the 1st post). The reason for this is because it includes a bootloader that will overwrite Hard SPL. Just download OS and replace with Black Edition noted in step 4.

OK, seriously though, the Black Edition patch was designed for the Black Edition, it's probably not a good idea to use it on the LVSW ROM.
The search function can be pretty crappy at times, which is why you can search the forums using Google instead. I think that changing the registry yourself is better anyway because then you know what you're doing...
Wow thank you everyone for your replys!!
I am still undecide which OS ROM to go with.. Both look great!

You could try both if you want to. That's one of the benefits of this community. You can actually *choose* what you want, and then have the option to change your mind as many times as needed!

Ok SPORT (better?), perhaps you're totally oblivous to the fact you hijacked the OP's thread as if your woes take precendence over anyone else's. But oh, that's right... "you're in a rush".
Not "being nasty", just asking that you demonstrate a modicum of respect for the forum.
Upgrade was a success!
I went with Black Edition and I must comment it got nice Splash screen and today screen! I was a little worried it was going to be gothic looking screen but it wasn't and it is a very nice looking screen and setup and seem to be easier on the eyes too.
Thank you for all your inputs and feedbacks!
I entered the Cingular WAP setting manually and use a cab to fix the keyboard layout then uninstalled the cab so it wouldn't be in my Remove Program box.

OH yeah you got that right! The Radio flashing was exactly what you said. A real nail biter, there was moment when I thought my phone is screwed then it would jump another 4% or so in the status bar then another long pause.
But it was an awesome learning experience for me and now I feel more comfortable upgrading my pda.

Really I am having problems with the search function in this site too. I'll try google as mentioned.

Beginners Guide to Unlocking/Upgrading the ROM

So you want to try some ROM other than the shipped ROM for your Athena!
What Do you need to know?
Backup
You should also know that doing this will usually wipe all the info off your phone(except the microdrive and SD card)
So it is important that you learn to backup any info that you want to keep.
I suggest using pimbackup and I usually back up MyDocuments by syncing with your computer or even copying it to your SD card.
I do this as a routine everytime I fiddle with my ROM so I can return to the previous state.
I also use Sprite Backup as well.
Remove Sim/Sd card
Next , make sure you remove your SD card and simcard before proceeding to apply Olipros unlocker
Unlock
Well you have to unlock your ppc to accept a new ROM.
I haven't done this for a while , but fortunately the process has been made easy by Olipro in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315831
and in german in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=378216
Check Bootloader Screen
Throughout this forum you will be referred to your SPL.
This is the Secondary Program Language and on your unadulterated ppc it will be 1.1
Olipro's original unlocker upgraded this to 1.1x but the unlocker above will change it to SPL 1.2
You can see if this has already been done by putting your phone into the Bootloader screen.
This is done by holding the camera button completely in and then pressing the reset button.
You will now see a red/green/blue and white striped screen telling you the device id and SPL version.
If you see SPL 1.2 , you are good to go to load any SPL 1.2 Rom.
Activsync/Windows mobile device centre.
You need this program to apply updates to your ROM
There used to be a problem with earlier versions of these programs not recognising WM6 ROMS.
This problem is easily solved by updating these programs
Upgrading Radio
No there is no FM radio on the Athena, this refers to the operating System radio that operates the phone/wifi/gps etc
This is important to know as AP4 needs at least radio 1.50 (and maybe WM6.1roms)
Upgrading the radio proceeds the same way as a rom upgrade
version1.58 is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409271
version1.57 is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=372904
Where to find a ROM
Fortunately Sergiopi has collected and sorted them here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397518
Walk me through the Process
1.backup data
2.remove sim and SD card, apply hard reset and wait till full initialization complete before connecting to pc.
3.establish Activsync connection
4.ensure no background program running, antivirus, firewall and etc. before executing flash command.
5 start the unlocker and follow the instructions.
6.reboot phone and make sure you still have activesync
7.**Update the ROM to an SPL appropriate rom according to what appears on your bootloader screen**
following the above protocol
Great!
Now you should have a new ROM to play with!
And play with it you should !
But I want to try an SPL3.5 ROM!
OK if you got this far You should be able to do this.
**First step is to install AP4**
At the moment there is only 1 foolproof way to do this and this is to use the Athena Updater
But first read the upgrade Guide Please Here http://www.htc-hackers.com/uploads/AP4_How_To_1.8.pdf
It is very detailed and I recommend following it exactly !!
This is the link to the athena Updater
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387409
Now I want to go back to SPL 1.2
Ok. this is possible
see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405604
Need to know more or Stuffed the Flash?
Don't worry , nearly everyone here has made a mistake but been able to recover.
Read the wiki and/ or search the forum
If you have any suggestions to change What I have written ,post a reply.
Advanced:SD Card Flashing
Rather than using Activesync/WMDC it is possible to flash using the SD Card
from the athena Wiki (a good source of info)
"Rename the .NBH file to ATHEIMG.nbh and copy it to your miniSD card. Press camera+soft reset to bootloader and wait for reading ATHEIMG.nbh from SD. Remember, the miniSD card must be formatted with a FAT32 filesystem before copying the file ATHEIMG.nbh to your miniSD. After finished, do a soft reset."
this doesn't work with SDHC cards .

Thank you very much,
Because the knowledge in this community is so high, sometimes pleople like me are afraid of writing some type of questions.
This way it will be easy.
"Sticky" please.
fantastic, a thread like this should be made part of the sticky topics!
cheers
Beautiful guide
Yes, is special for a noobs like me and others nice guide thanks.

may help stop a few questions
thanks 1000000 times
now i won't be afraid of upgrading my athena
This really should be made a sticky.
I know when I first visited this forum, it was overwhelming. So many bits of pieces of info everywhere. Very hard for a new person to come in and make sense of it all.
Great guide lakeman.

you need to learn a few skills like reading the wiki and then doing a search of the forum.
also this question has nothing to do with the title of this thread.
The problem you talk about is not confined to the X7501 and i refer you to a sticky in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387986
At the top of the forum is a new section called question and answers and I suggest you look there as well
I had unlocked my device and upgraded radio version to 1.58. Different Roms tested , last was Michy 5.1.
For variuos reason I had to reinstall the Original HTC Rom and again everything was working succefully.
Now I would like to reinstall Michy Rom 6.1 and once I enter the bootloader the screen is showing:
ATHENE 100 IPL-v1.00 ( standard)
as well as one line below
ATHENE 100-SPL-v1.20 Olipro
In order to avoid to brick my device my question is:
I can flash the Michy Rom straight or I still have to repeat the unlock procedure since the beginning again?
Thanks and regards

You can only flash SPL 1.2 ROMs and last time I looked Michy 6.1 was only SPL3.5.
You would need to upgrade to AP4 first as outlined in my first post

update rom and radio
Can someone help me? I have updated my dell axim rom many times but in the case of athena (u1000) i am afraid to do it because it is also a phone. I am not sure whether the radio 1.58 is applicable world wide mobile phone network or is it just in the united states. I live in Malaysia and we have several mobile phone network providers like digi, celcom and maxis.
Also should the radio be updated first or the rom first? Thanks

Radio 1.58 works everywhere as far as I know and is not carrier specific.
I could not get mms to work.
You need to upgrade to radio 1.5 at least to load AP4 and I think people had troubles if they used an earlier radio with WM6.1 roms.
So I guess it would be best to upgrade the radio first.
Thanks
Thanks lakeman,
Thanks for your clear clarifications about the radio updates and the AP4 Roms.
i am beginning to feel confident again about updating my u1000. I have read so much about michy's rom and a few others. The official rom in my device is stable but might be a bit slow if i were to compare to my axim x51 using the latest L11 rom from Lenny.
The joy of having responsive roms made me reluctant to sell of my dell axim even though I am using my u1000 most of the time now. I wonder if anyone had sold off their previous axim after using u1000 (athena x7500) and regretted.
But if i must use my u1000 which has features that no other ppc has namely the large screen, i would like to have better roms than the official roms.
Thanks to all here who have contributed so much to improve the athena!
lakeman
your instruction seems the most easy to follow (at least for me)
So i am itching to try upgrading my dopod u1000 here in malaysia.
So if i just want to upgrade the radio 1.57/58
I have to
1. do the unlocking using olipro (3 steps)
2. remove sd card and sim
3. connect to pc using activesync
4. install the radio and
5. hard reset (will be done automatically)
CORRECT?
If i want to upgrade to a say michy rom
1. do the unlocking (3 steps)
2. remove sd and sim
3. connect to my notebook (activesync)
4. install radio
5. hard reset
6. connect to notebook (activesync)
7. click on the say michy new rom installer on notebook
8. follow til the end
9. hard reset (automatically will be done)
10. NEW UPGRADED ROM!
Am i correct?
Thanks!!!
(Any recommendations regarding ROMS for a start if a newbie like me wants a the fast u1000 but as plain as possible so that i can choose what to install later?)

[RUU] CustomRUU for Topaz

Hi all, I've created HTC Topaz CustomRUU patched to perform a 'task 32' instead of a 'task 28' after flashing an .nbh, so it will not format your device if you just flash a radio or a splash screen.
How to: Drop the .nbh file of your choice in the same folder as CustomRUU and start flashing.
Have fun.
Changelog:
v1.1
Small fixes to avoid false detections by antivirus software.
Updated RUU Utility.
UPXed
Finally something that looks familiar - the RUU files
How do i get the dump from Dazbert or the files from Humble converted so i can use the RUU?
BR Steen
Incredible! CustomRuus and Roms already available, while the device isn't even out there yet! Well, I'm still waiting for it...
udK, where did you get one? I live in Switzerland too and want to get one.. don't want to wait until mid of april
Likewise!! If you find one available now, let me know too - PLEASE..
Diamond 2
I got my sample today for testing, wow, wow, wow what a great piece of machinery is this not
What nbh could I use? I have the one with the time bomb and can`t seem to fix it (tried to put shell32 from other device but it won`t boot afterwards)...

Was waiting for this so I could try out the Asia_WWE_1.40.707.1 . I guess I can still use the same unpacker from the HD forum?
Can't flash the firmware
i can't flash the firmware using the method on this post. my computer is running windows vista 32. Please suggest me how to flash it. Thanks.
You can't it needs to be CID unlocked.
I have had two TD2 the first went back as was faulty , just died on me . The funny thing is it did flash which I was suprised about . But died soon after so not sure what was wrong there.
The second that I have now will not. We will have to wait for the unlock.
My AVG virus scanner warns me that your zip file contains a trojan horse..!!
Yep it will and so does mine ! Symantec
This has ben discussed on other forums and is a known prolem with the custom RUU
Trust me though it will be Virus free . Some virus scanners see it as a threat and throw it into quaranteen .
UDK and others on here are developers and Virus's are defo not their thing . I am not sure why it does it or why it sees it as a threat but rest assured it is not.

OK, it's done. Any anti-virus problems with udk's CustomRUU, feel free to use my wrapper instead.
You need .Net 2.0 to use (which most of you should have by now ).

Try to use your wrapper but it was still getting stuck at 0%. Please suggest me. Thanks.

CustomRUU's for many devices are known to be identified as viruses by anti virus programs. There's really generally no problem.
Did not work
Hi
Try and try as I might I dropped the extracted nbh file in with the wrapper version and it still came up with "invalid vendor error".
What did I do wrong?? Any ideas?
Thanks

You need Hard SPL - which isn't out yet. Or the gold card method that cmonex mentioned for language changes.
