That is, in my opinion, the best silicon case for the wizard! - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Accessories

I paid about 30$ for it, and it came with a nice wrist strap. For me it's ideal because I can work with the wizard's keyboard perfectly, the protection is good for the device and excellent for the screen. Sadly the only color I could pick was white.. The only problem is that apparently I've got a defected one, because the back part won't stick to the device (the front sticks as it should, so I believe that after replacing the back part it will also work. I use a double-sided duct tape in the mean while)

Always makes me wonder, what keeps the case on, on both sides? There just doesn't seems to have places to grip on.

It's semi-rigidized, so the frame around the device is made of plastic and coated with silicon. The frame has small clasps that keep the case on the device. Actually one was broken so I'm holding it with the duct tape and going to replace it today. These are the clasps:
They look flimsy but they're OK.

Cool...
Hey...Where did you find that? I have been looking for a case like that everywhere...ok, obviously not everywhere or I would have found it...all I have been able to find were cases for the cingular 8125...could you post the link please? thanks...oh one more thing, does it come off pretty easily?

I read somewhere awhile back that somebody had dyed their clear silicone cover
They used some dye that can be found at most stores(Walmart, Target, etc.)
I dont think it was food dye...maybe something along the lines of clothing dye.
Anyway, they put this tablet of dye in warm water, then placed the silicone cover inside and then left it in there for several hours.
It came out looking great....I think the guy had done some using black, blue, and red.

I Found It...
Thanks to Aviv for a little help in the right direction...
http://pdaden.com/shop/cart.php?target=product&action=view&product_id=18120&substring=wizard
just search for wizard and scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
My long search is over...it's only $24 with international shipping...Thank you so much Aviv

The front part is held tight, but the rear doesn't, at least mine. With the duct tape it's OK.

Well good idea for a silicon case, but looks forced. Also I prefer the PD'air aluminium cover, really protects the phone. Have dropped it several times by mistake and (phew) phone still works.

I have the aluminum case also, it is kinda bulky. But aside from that I think that it feels odd using it. Having to open it just to use the touch screen, not to mention the keyboard, is a little much for me. I have dropped mine plenty of times with out any case and it still works fine (scares the daylights out of me when it happens though).

Aluminum cases are bulky and heavy. With this silicon case I can work with the wizard without giving up protection, it's always inside. Furthermore, the silicon case is nice to hold, even better then a naked wizard. It won't slip and it's soft to touch.

hmm whats those yellow things on ur keyboard

Hebrew letters.

Anyone tried this with the Cingular 8125 version. It's more rectangular. Kinda of uglier... I just shipped the back case and I think I'd rather get a silicon case but I want one that's made for the cingular version.

This is the closest that I have seen...only problem is that it doesn't allow the keyboard to slide open. The 8125 seems to have the most options as far as silicon cases though so you might check around.

Did anyone else get this case yet?
It pretty good but I'd like to get some more opinions before buying it.

It's on order. I'll give you my feedback when it arrives.

does the case stay on the phone securely?
I just saw that. Might have to try it for my son's 8125. He didn't like the aluminum case -- said it felt like he was carrying around a brick in his pocket-- and he REFUSES to use a belt clip (as in with the leather case I bought him). This might be an alternative solution to BOTH of those for him. Doesn't look as bulky to me as the aluminum case.
Cases
Hi there. This case looks nice. Please let us know if you give it a try. I just received a leather case. I sort of like it but always looking for something better.
Hey, I've got a crystal case on its way so once I receive it I'll post about it. It should be here by the middle of this week.
Hi there. I went ahead and ordered that crystal case as well. Should be here early this week.
I also just ordered the crystal case. Its coming form Hong Kong. So its probable a cheap rip off.
But I hate the leather case that came with my 8125.
And the alum cases is like carrying a paper weight around.
I think once the cheap plastic molds to your phone it will be nice.
Should be here next week also.
And I'll give it a good review.
Case Logic
Hi there. Received my crystal case from Hong Kong. Don't like it. The back piece just is not secure enough and I can see the phone popping off and flying head first into a cement floor and goodbye $428 Ebay non insured Phone. So far the leather case I bought is the winner of cases. I just don't like having to unsnap it every time I use the keyboard, and the phone can push out of the top with a little pressure. Still searching for the ultamate case.
Alright, I finally got my crystal case.
Pros:
-It was cheap, so at least I didn't waste alot of money.
-The front part of the casing stays on very well.
-It looks really nice.
-Keeping it clipped on my belt and using it without having to take it out of a leather case is convienient.
-The screen Protector works very well.
-*Most* of the buttons on the phone are still easily accessible.
Cons:
-The back part of the casing does not stay on well.
-It's really annoying to release the phone out of the belt clip. Even more annoying than having to take the phone out of a leather case.
-The two halves of the case don't fit well together, so the edges are uneven.
-With the keyboard slid out, the two soft buttons at the top of it are almost covered by the top of the case, making them really hard to use.
-The case also almost covers the Camera button, making that feature of my phone a pain to use.
Overall, I'm not really impressed, and I would not recommend buying one. The worst part about the case is that the back half of it won't stay on (that's right, the part that clips onto your belt), which worries me because I don't want to turn my phone into a paperweight while walking down the street. Even clipping it into the belt clip and just pulling slightly on the front of the phone, the whole back of it came right off. The front stays on too well and is a pain to take off. A good idea, a good attempt at a case, but not the best engineering.
Ok, I give you the ultimate case. For me anyway. It has replaced my wallet. The main part of the case I got off of ebay I think. It was actually for an audiovox pda. Search on ebay for XV6700 or PPC6700. The phone and screen location match the wizard.
It has three credit card slots for my most used cards. It has slot for full size sd card and stylus holder. (The one in the phone sucks am I right?) It certainly doesnt fit in a pocket (not even a large one) but the belt clip swivels, and is very tight. I clip it on my pants when I ride my motorcycle, and even at 70-80mph it has not fallen off yet. You actually have to yank pretty good to get it off (I know that doesnt sound too clean, you know what I mean) The snap is magnetic so it is also very secure, and the phone will not come out unless you open the flap.
I had to cut a hole in the bottom elastic so I can charge the phone while it is in the case, and I drilled a hole in the leather where the ear speaker is just in case I need to quickly answer the phone.
The extra pouch on the side is just a credit card case I bought at walmart. It was in the section by their dayplanners. I used some auto trim tape to stick it on.

i have that in clear and smoke... both are nice... only problem is sometimes junk in my pocket gets stuck under the case... but you can pop it off real quick and clean it...
nice looking!
Dammit. I wish I had one of those before I dropped my phone so many times
Those look nice but...
Do they afford any protection. I have been thinking about one of those Innopocket Metal case, but those cases look a lot nicer. Anybody have any saves with those cases???

Thanks.
i bought the one listed above. it's okay, still is a bit bulky.. fitment is descent.. feels a little lose. i might just buy a new oem faceplate instead
you mean the rubberized one? does it fall off? does it provide protection?
the oem faceplate seems like just a replacement for the original housing?
what would be the point? to save the original for resale?

Please give a review I am considering this one too.
WOW...It will be very nice to be a bier for my dead herald.
Black, rubberized version, came same week, 10 bucks shipped, best case I ever seen snaps right on, skin close, thin, looks awsome, as if it was part of the design, NO TMOBILE LOGO!!!, no interfereance with opening the keyboard and a small difference with access to side buttons like camera, etc,. still comfortable, and in my opinion good for preventing accidental pressing...
Just too bad the invisible shield didn't come on time for my relative to bring it here... Then I would feel all around protected with the best there is.
Upgrade to Touch Flow 2.3 (Thanks to Itje!) bricked twice, stuck on Tmobile screen. Reason was expected since Vista is known to brick. The link to Modaco didn't have any possitive effect. Successful upgrade from my XP machine, first try.
The only issue now is that sometimes it is found to be turned off when I don't remember turning it off, usually when I take it out of my pocket.
And when I try to set up Windows Live Mail it just goes to home screen, which sucks since I want Live Mail on it. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I overclocked to 247 and Skype mobile works great. Just took a while to find the 2.2 Low CPU version... http://www.skype.com/download/skype/mobile/21beta.html It says needs 400 mhz, but worked fine without overclock...
Was surprised that Battery Status program was in the WIndows folder and no shortcuts... How are shortcuts made anyway?
In general very happy with the machine!
Any suggestions appreciated...

Avoid the metal cases. Had one for a few months for my Wing, signal strength is knocked down (with associated drop in battery life since the cell radio has to work harder, 25% reduction in battery life for me!), Bluetooth range drops to only about 5 feet before static creeps in, etc.
The protection is good with the metal cases, but you pay a high price in performance for the protection.
Black rubberized case in Tmobile holster?
Those of you who got the Black Rubberized Case, is the case thick enough to protect the protruding Green/Red call buttons from being pressed when they're in the OEM Tmobile holster? Pictures on ebay don't show the sideways view, so I can't tell how thick they are. thanks

Finally found an ideal pouch for the Hero

After trying several cases/pouches including the official C300 leather case (too bulky) and a cheapo faux leather pouch that marked the white casing of the phone I have finally found this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GENUINE-L...ches?hash=item3ca4b454a3&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Its a pretty tight fit but you can yank the tab to pull the phone out.
Dammit I spoke too soon. It stained the Hero orange!
I've ordered a gel/silicone case now.

Ouch, hope you can find something that you like!
I have been in search of a good case too, and I think I'm going to go with a foof pouch from Foof Shop. Another user of these forums got it and said it fits perfectly in an iPhone/iTouch size. Just a suggestion for you, if you like the style.
It's a shame my favorite company, Switcheasy, is staying Apple only
Waiting for beyzacases myself - their diamond one was superb.
I'm using a large Luna pouch by Krusell. Paid about £12 for it on a buy it now from ebay and would happily recommend.
It's a good quality soft leather case and while it wasn't purpose built for the hero, it is as you can see a pretty snug fit

I can lightly hold case upside and gently shake without the hero falling out, but at the same time I don't need to wrestle the case to remove the phone. Only downside was the quality control sticker left a sticky mark on the leather when I peeled it off (which washed away with a little liquid soap).
Wish I had a black Hero. The white one gets marked without trying.
I might get my girlfriend to make me one of these:

MF recommends the Extra Large, for the Hero, but you mentioned only the Large.
Looking at the sizes there's only a few mm in it; I really don't want another pouch that the phone falls out of though
thanks again...
Foof is Ideal
I recommended the foof case, and the more I read with problems with other cases the more I'm glad I use this one. The interior is white fleece absolutely no chance of staining and great protection for the device. I've still heard all my notification sounds through the case and the black and white patterned cloth looks great. Its also washable.
thanks; I love the foof cases: I was going to get one for my MBP, but my wife made me something very similar herself, just as good (or better .
Which foof case exactly did you get for the Hero? How snug a fit is it?
thanks again.

I got one of these:

It fits really well and is cheap as hell. It also makes it large enough (and increases the drag coefficient enough) so that it feels secure in my old G1 pouch.

Anybody else accesorize their dock? (decal) :D

I had a Transformers Autobots logo decal on my netbook for the longest time... I thought it was sorta cute, at 'least until the new Transformer movies came out.
Anyway, the ASUS Transforer's textured back is too rough for for any larger decal like that (such a shame, wouldve been perfect on it given the name and form factor!), same with the dock; but I had this smaller Android decal laying around and after some measuring I realized it was perfect for the dock's edge/hinge, and voila...
I bought it over a year ago when I got a full sized Andy for my car's rear window, but if anyone else wants the exact same decal for their TF I can dig into my email and figure out where I ordered it from.
You can get skins made that fit on the textured back fine and you can submit any picture you like for uploading on the decal. In theory they are meant to non-copyright images but I am sure that is to cover their as#'s and they don't really check - trust me ;o). Google Zagg - zaggskins. I put on some really cool artwork on my tab's skin and now it looks awesome. Just a shame that they don't have one for the dock. Not cheap but to protect and customise a $500 tab it's worth it.
Had a spare sticker, so chucked this on.
Not been into a StarBucks with it to get funny looks yet, hopefully no-one from Gizmodo is on the prowl.
The glow effect is just the camera flash. Sticks on fairly well, but if it peels off? meh, I'll not be fussed.
Nice, now youre a kool kat. I wanna add a turtle head and limbs to match the texture
I'm not sure Zagg skins would work on the ASUS tablet, the back isn't just textured, it's downright full of dents... It's hard to explain, but you could easily puncture or poke into anything stuck on the back as the grooves (more like shell marks) are fairly significant. I kinda like the unique look tho, feels alright on the hand and doesn't get dirty or scoff easily.
Any skins or decals will work fine. The texture of the dock is the same as the tablet. I have used 3M Dinoc on mine and it sticks just fine. I did both the tablet and dock.
Here is the tablet, dock is the same but without the bee and android name.

Zagg skins work fine on the back (or anywhere else). I put mine on my transformer a week ago no probs at all - the dents are not a problem (like a golf ball) it won't peirce or tear they are strong and designed for it. Don't worry go for it looks awesome.

If directed to me, then no not at all. I even slide it in to my case fine and nothing has peeled up. There is a little slither of the back that isn't covered, but it isn't noticeable. I only know about it because I'm the one that put it on

If directed at me the Zagg skin is fine and not peeling around the edges at all - my girlfriend has had one on her phone for a year + and no probs at all. Regarding the invisible shield on the screen - a little harder to apply and all comes down to your initial application (have done shed loads of them so I am all good with mine) - but it has a lifetime warranty anyway - so if it went crap or starts to peel pull it off send it back and get a replacement - you " had to get your device serviced "
I have an Intel Core i7 badge on the palmrest of my dock. I would take a picture and show it but everyone should know what the badge looks like
i'm thinking about getting a CF Skin, are they pretty easy to take off? i wonder if it leaves a plastic residue

Homemade backplate using genuine leather

So I also own a Note 3 and dig the leather back but don't dig that it is fake as hell. I picked up the ZU when it went on sale about a month or so ago and though I do like the glass material I felt I was worrying too much about it. I couldn't find a case that I liked that fit in the dock and just kept worrying about scratching the back up. So... I just bought some leather sample and some el cheapo screen protectors and went to work.
I quite like the result though cutting out the camera hole was the worst part. Another good thing is that this is easily removed and reused if so desired.

Thanks dude. Nah, I used some 3m double stick tape. It's the stuff I believe they use to put spoilers on cars. That leather isn't going anywhere. You can see how I laid it down in the second pic. I double stuck it onto an illumishield back screen protector so I can easily peel it off and put it back on at will with no loss of stickiness in case I want to switch back to my incipio case.

Thanks, it looks really great. I have to find out how to do it by myself without rear sample protector.
I would suggest just buying a cheap rear protector because it would serve as the template for the cutout and also allow you to remove it easily otherwise you'd have to stick it on directly on the glass which would be a more semi permanent solution. But if you really want to do it without the back protector then just take a piece of paper and etch around with a pencil and you should have a good template to cut around.
I'm thinking of cutting out an opening for the Sony logo but I'm afraid if it might look like cheap. I may try to hunt down some red leather if I can find it on the cheap. Maybe I can find an old school Michael Jackson jacket at the thrift store and chop it up. Also I plan to buy a Muvit Bimat case and removing the clear portion and fit the leather around the bumper area of the case. I think that might be pretty sweet.

Well here is a better idea... Just get some wide clear tape, I'd use some clear shelf liner like for cabinets and stick it to the back of the phone then draw your pattern. Peel that off the phone and lay it on some wax paper then glue the leather onto the non stick side of it and cut out the pattern. It is really just a square cutout, the hardest part would be the camera hole. Thank God this thing doesn't have a flash because cutting out that hole was a PITA. That way you will have sticky on one side and leather on the other.
The shelf liner is like 5 bucks at any grocery store.
Thanks a million man! I will try to win this battle on weekend.
Great job you should start charging people to have this done your make a killing dude.
