hey there!!
Do you have a qtek 9000 (universal) aswell??
Could you post some comparison pictures? Would be great to really see how much bigger it is.. I mean,, uni on top, side by side flipped open and such..
Really think ill go for the toshiba g(e?)900 instead.. im only in it for the speed and the resolution. Size i really think uni is in the "bigger league" for my needs but its great.
Really appreciate it!
thanks

ps.
For sharper images, put it on a minicamera stand (or whatever you have that puts it in normal height). put a normal bulblight next to it (use no flash), absolute best is put it on a white sheet of paper, where paper turns up back of the unit, and use 2 bulbs right next to each side of the camera, this gives perfect light of the product. Set the camera on the 5sec timer. Supersharp images without the flash..
THANKS!

That's simple. Hold the volume slider to down and then press into the reset hole.
Found this today in T-Mobile Ameo manual.

Does TomTom realy comes with HTC package?
Does work well?
Can you make a screenshot of the small status bar when you cover the display with the keyboard?
How does scrolling work in this mode?
IS it possible to make calls without handset, like on normal mobiles?
Thanks for information :`)

Can you please try to answer my list of question above? That would be nice. I am also thinking about buying one.
On the press conference (3GSM) the HTC people told, that they will bring a WM6 upgrad as soon as possible. So I don't wan't to buy one from T-Mobile Germany. They are to damn slowly or won't every upgrade to a new OS.
Also they won't pack TomTom into it, so you have to buy your own one.

As i said a couple post before, i got an Athena for testing. I didnt get the retail box. This is not yet available.
The small screen bar is very handy. It shows messages, appointments etc.
I will try to upload a photo tonight.
Yes, you can make calls without the hands set but its rather dificult, as it doesnt have H?W keys to accept or reject calls.
Only if you have the keyboard attached you have this option.

Any idea how much i can get a basic Athena for. I am looking for the cheapest price. My budget is less than $900USD. I just sold my universal for $600USD. Also do you think that I should go for the Athena for frequent use? Is there anything better than the Athena? Like the O2 XDA Atom Exec or the O2 XDA Flame?

as you seems to have the universal as well, can you compare between them? which one is faster? Thanks

not to sound like a idiot but how are you able to enter alpha characters in the dial pad? i cant seem to natively. tried a few workarounds like making a new contact with that "number" or even pasting the text into the dial pad. nothing seems to work.

Thanks for this. I actually used this to show a Verizon employee the dead pixel my brand new Galaxy S3 had. We used the touchscreen test mode to circle the area with the dead pixel. It showed up nicely on the white background.
I'm still unclear on what the light sensor is testing.I do get a reaction. It flashes black/blue, zero/one.....but what is it doing and how do I test the light sensor here?

Did they replace it? I was under the impression they don't warrantee against dead pixels, which would infuriate me.
The proximity sensor on this phone has much better range than my old phone. In good light, with a piece of white paper, the prox sensor would consistently get tripped at 9cm (3 1/2 inches)!, which is almost double my old phone's.

You have to put your finger directly on the light sensor (directly to the left of the front cam) for it binary flip from 1 to 0. It doesn't show gradually reduced sensor values as you approach.

The initial floor employee would not acknowledge the problem. He kept saying "oh they won't see it and I'll get fired, etc". I remained calm but continued to press him about it, but he wouldn't budge.
I got frustrated and after arguing with him on a different route (the 14-day exchange period) he even refused to acknowledge that Verizon obliges themselves to a 14-day return. I pressed him more on it before he finally went to talk to a manager, and said "oh right we can do that". I was grudgingly going to pay the $35 restocking fee out of frustration.
Eventually, after he fumbled with the computer system for a good 20 minutes or more, he got the manager to look at the computer. The manager then asked me to see my phone, and I put it into the hardware test mode and showed him the affected area. He made a quick call to another store, as he was wondering if they had any similar problems (he said one person's phone had a damaged back plate out of the box).
After he saw the dead pixel he confirmed that I could swap it out for free. I apologized for making a fuss over a single dead pixel, but he assured me I didn't have to explain myself, and that he would have done the same thing had he paid for a defective device.
So, yes, I did get them to replace it, but only after an hour and a half of waiting, arguing, more waiting, etc.
Thankfully my new Galaxy S3 seems fine.

Any way to remove wifi nag notification?

I know the wifi nag can be annoying because of its uselessness and persistence. It seems minor to me considering what wonderful potential this phone has- when I root and rom and all that. But if anyone knows a way to turn is off for stock....
Not at the moment. The trick that worked on the SG3 doesn't work for us.

The wifi icon in the notifications. When wifi is turned off the notification stays on always, to let you know- i guess , that wifi is an option for you to use. Like I didn't already know that the phone has wifi and I can use it when I wish. That wifi icon is basically a permanent short cut to wifi settings. I know seems strange, but Im fine to live with it for a bit. It goes away when you turn on wifi.
that was not nice to plaster that there

That's the thing, I never use WiFi. It's about the only thing that stops me from saying the Dinc 4G is perfect out of the box...in my experience so far. It just clutters up a person's notification panel for absolutely no good reason. I hope VZ themselves take it off, but maybe I'm too optimistic Yea, it's a little thing, but it's an odd move that almost seems like a mistake. I mean, what's the difference with a WiFi widget? I use the BlueTooth widget and Hotspot and Brightness widgets, why not put all those up in there too? We should have the option to disenable it, especially if you own the phone outright...and I'm just speaking on a stock level. But I'm also hopeful that some bright person will find a way and salvage that space back from our panel.
it's something I'm personally working on,

Yeah some of the other newer phones are coming with that as well. Think it's the "new thing" for big red.
Right, in the Galaxy SIII forums they hypothesize that this constant notification is an effort to have users data be on WiFi (and off their 4G network) as much as possible. I've tried playing with SQLite Editor and "wifi_networks_available_notification_on" in the settings storage as posts like this describe, but find the database is locked, and any attempts to change that have bricked my Incredible 4G. So I hope someone else figures this out!

Bricked, as in the phone won't turn on or get past the boot screen. The system files are quite fragile, while I managed to get this setting changed, it wouldn't reboot so that I could see if it worked. But its not my first time at the rodeo, and I had TWRP recovery to get me out of that state, and into a new ROM, which is the only way I think this little nuisance gets removed. Nitsuj17's ROM, for example, has this feature on their To-Do list, but it probably isn't their top priority.

So you weren't bricked then. You can't recover a brick which is why it is called that.
As for the nag, everyone wants to get rid of it so it is being looked in to.

Bad lag when coming off the net

As title, everything else is fine but when coming off the net and going to straight to texing, contacts or calls, there's bad lag, I've turned animation off also disabled s voice and stopped quite a few apps running in the background, but still there. For such a so called state of the art quick phone, this carry on badly Let's it down

That's because of 1gb ram
The launcher redraws making the phone unusable for a short period of time .
Bad architecture.
I thought that would be good, obviously it's not......I know the external ram/memory's better but it's the internal one that counts when operating.....so that's it then, I'm stuck unless I change phones

I just tested you scenario on my phone running stock rooted rom ELLA guess it depends on what you mean by a bad lag.
Tried from stock browser to messaging and stock browser to contacts and its almost instant just as long as it take to tap the home button to close the browser and tap the icon to open messaging or contacts, can't actually time.
Tried it from a 3rd party browser the same way and the same results basically tap home to close and tap icon to open app for contacts or messaging.
I have not disabled animations or anything like that, but just wondered if you have anything like virus scanners or app managers running on your phone as they may casue delays.
Nope no virus scanners ect ect running, and anything I found running I didnt need/want (and it was quite a few) I turned off
When I say in real time, it's about 3-5 seconds, that's going back to the home screen coming from the net, it doesnt matter if I press soft key back button or the hard key in the middle, it's bad either way
These phones are expensive enough

Just had a look to see how many processes are running in the application manager and there are 17, it isn't something that has bothered me so I have not stopped anything it just does what it does. I can say the process from pressing the home button to close either the stock browser or third party browser is almost instant at any time, its just press then the app is closed, it isn't something I can time but would guess at about half a second, it realy is just press and its closed.
As I mentioned I am running the stock rooted ELLA non branded UK rom and I don't have any lag anywhere, I know this doesn't help you solve the problem of the lag but if you are on the same rom maybe do a foctory reset, clear the cache and dalvik in recovery then set up the phone again.it will be a littile slow for the first day but after that it should run properly, without lag.
Don;t forget to backup contacts etc if you do decide to do this, it may be worth a try.
How do I tell if I'm on this ella
It's either try that or get a diffirent make......this lag's really pissing me off, it's doing it all the time

Go to Settings > About Phone and see what Android Version, Baseband and Buld number you are on like the below I9300XXELLA is the latest 4.1.2 release for non branded phones, so it should be the same as thins unless you are on a branded version

It's 4.1.2 but 19300BWELK1 not ELLA is this what's wrong and causing lag
Can I go on the other one to sure it...if it's oing back and I'll get a diffirent make, I'm not having a £400+ phone and this crap
Christ my old HTC Desire S is faster than this depsite less of everything
1GB RAM combined with poor ram management isn't exactly a good combo.
What can be done then?...anything..
Or do I need to go for a diffirent make.....I did nearly go for the One X or the Xperia T but thought I'd give this a second chance after the first one was faulty

LTE means Long-term evolution and implies the use of 4G networking. A lot higher speeds than HSPA+.
I didnt realise it's the Note 2....it's even bigger than the S3, and I'm just about managing with one with this, It'd be 2 hands with the other one
Is there anyway the S3's ram can be doubled or no

Yes, kind of. It's called "S3 LTE" and is a different phone from the normal S3. The S3 LTE has the model number i9305 and has similar hardware to the i9300. What differs though is 2GB's of ram and an LTE capable modem chip.
Ok, but it's a physically bigger phone, and like I say, I'm just managing the size of the S3 with 1 hand, I'd be back to using 2 with the other
Can the S3 be upgraded to 2gb or is that a no no

It's a no. You're not getting me, the S3 LTE isn't a bigger phone. Don't confuse the i9305 S3 LTE with the i7105 Note 2 LTE.

Everyone who own a Z2 plz READ!

Hi,
The main reason i sold my Z1 was because he has a lot of issues.
but the biggest issue was the touch screen problem.
bassicaly it was stop reconize the touch and it was creates sord of stops on the screen. (will upload a video later for an example),
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNV_jat9Z5Y
So i afraid that the Z2 will suffer from this issue too, i decided to open this thread for testing.
if someone on this forum have a model in his house, plz do the following test to see if the problem persist.
1. put the device on a flat surface like a table, naked without any case.
2. Open any sketch app. like drawer.
3. leave the app open on the surface for atleast 30 seconds.(if the screen goes off u can change the "screen on time" in Settings -> Display.)
4. after that draw a line, if the problem persist u will see it.
if someone can film the test when he does it will be even better and highly appriciated.
Thx guys

Yes, I got my Z1 with that same issue covered by warranty. They tried fixing it 4 times and I was patient for about 2 months because I really wanted to keep it. Finally I got fed up and returned it for a full refund under warranty - just didn't want to go through that again.

No problem mate, cuz it was a big issue on the z1 section i tought the z2 maybe suffer from this too. speacially when some z1 compact users report they experiencing this problem too.
So again friends, if someone has a prototype or a model plz do this test asap
I have the Z1 and never had this issue. I know it exists from the thread in the Z1 forum, just pointing out that not everyone suffered from this. That being said, it's a horrible problem to have and if I did have it on the Z1 I would never be getting the Z2.
I had Z1 & suffered from the same issue.I only preferred Z1 coz it can be rooted without loosing warranty. Also I think if z2 users face above issue they might also face screen not responding after playing games like dead trigger 2 for half an hour. Not to mention the yellow hue on screen

Trust me you will love this Phone. its something special from all Xperia's
Enjoy
Safe
Happy Days
As the Z1 screen is surrounded by aliminium(I read somewhere in the forum that that's the problem),and the Z2 is aluminium+rubber I think the Z2 will not have this issue.

Since you already have a Z2 prototype - can you confirm that there still is a UMS mode available to switch the way you can connect your phone via USB? My car stereo sadly does not support MTP, so my only option to make the internal SD card available is via UMS.
thanks and sorry for hijacking the thread.

Awesome, thanks so much!
Some users in Tawian are reporting touch issues...
But it seems they are running a newer version of the firmware.

I tested this and saw touch problem but it s not just Z1 that shows touch-problem in this experimental situation.
if i remember correctly G2, htc One & etc shows same problem in an experimental situation.
But i hope like lots of software tweaks on XZ2 they do something for metallic frame and touch.
they changed frame design little-bit i don't know if it effect on touch panel or not!

One more question. Is it possible to hide embarrassing photo albums in gallery or Sony still did nothing about it?
@AmberBoy
Download "Hide it pro" from play store, the best app for hiding stuff.

Got my warrently replacement and STILL having problems...

I posted a few times over the past couple of months complaining of problems with animated gifs and call quality but now another problem as surfaced.
First of all, animated gifs are STILL broken unless I use Textra. The work around is nice but still not a solution.
Second, call quality STILL sucks. I had hoped a replacement would fix the problem (faulty parts) to no avail. I've tried unselecting "Advanced Calling" as well as "Voice Enhancement" with no success, either. Callers are still complaining that I sound a mile away and sometimes sound garbled.
Third, over the past couple of days I've been getting an "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped" error repeatedly. I've tried rebooting with no luck. I googled a solution and everyone says to uninstall Google Play Store's updates - also with no luck.
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH MY PHONE? I swear it's possessed. Is this an LG problem or Verizon? The people at the Verizon store have no idea what's going on and I got no where when I called Verizon, too.
I'm beyond frustrated. Someone please help!
I have the same problem with voice quality. Same exact thing you speak of; mile away from the phone and garbled. I also got a warranty replacement and same problem. I have even done a factory reset, did not install any apps and still have the same issues. It seems to be interment with no known location that I make or receive a call to be the problem. I am just waiting to maybe get an early edge upgrade and jump ship. I use my phone more for talking than texting in a given day. I had the same problem with call quality on the G2, this will be my last LG phone.
I've tried a factory reset, too. I wonder if I ***** enough if they'll let me get a different phone.

I was totally serious, worked 13 hours yesterday and have had two days of screwed up sleep. Felt great earlier after my boss suggested I sleep in and work from home today, woke up at 11, felt great for four hours and then it started hitting me again. Why am I still on my tablet!? Goodnight! ☺

Believe I found a fix after a search. Go into "google now" and click "settings" click on "hot word detection" and make sure "from any screen" is off. I have not had an issue for two days now!

Update:
I got the lollipop update this past weekend and over-all my phone is running much smoother. I'm no longer having sound issues while on the phone, nor am I getting google play service errors anymore.
However, I am STILL unable to receive animated gifs. WTF!!!
I'm still here and still having gif issues and call issues if anyone has a suggestion.
I've tried disabling "OK Google" from any screen but that hasn't helped. Friends are still complaining about my call quality to the point where they're now harassing me for not getting an iPhone!
I'm still receiving broken gifs in anything other than Textra.
???????
I gave up on LG a while ago due to the call quality problems I was having. Same complaints as others, people say I sounded under water, far away etc. The net is full of complaints. See the archives. My company gave me an iPhone all unlimited so I'm using that. It works fine but I do prefer Android devices. I know one thing, I will NEVER purchase another LG phone again. And I will never purchase any phone through a 3rd party like Best Buy because it just adds another layer of complication when it comes time to get things fixed.
