New ROM for JASJAM 1.31.305.2_106_6275_1.38.30.10 from Telstra - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Hi Guys
I have just noticed that there is new ROM published on www.clubimate.com today.
As far as i understand it is the same OS version as installed on all JASJAMs sold by Telstra, but just with new radio and maybe new extROM ?
What i dont understand is why it says 1.38.30.10 instead of 1.38.00.10 ?
Maybe some additional customizations for their NextG network ?
Here is the link:
ftp://ftp.clubimate.com/i-mate_JASJAM_telstra_1.31.305.2_106_6275_1.38.30.10_108_ship.zip

Hey, good find!
Dunno if i have time for flashing ROMs today but will have a look at some stage. Lol, dunno what's with the standard OS but nomenclature of radio rom is intriguing.
PS just noticed you're in adelaide. Good form

Could you please upload extracted RadioROM to rapidshare or megaupload ?

am doing it now... stay tuned

I extracted the radio rom. It is 1.38.30.10, flashed it with the new Custom RUU works great. I'll test it today to see if there's any noticable difference between 1.38.00.10. Here it is if anyone wants it. When it doubt use Force Using SSPL.

changes are minor... 3G fixes for the 850Mhz networks here in AUS....

well some parts of cingular runs 3g in 850 like here in jacksonville...so might help some of us here too

I have just flashed it, i havent had any problems with 1.38.00.10 on Telstras NextG network, so will see how this one goes. ;-)

Hi all, I've just installed the WM6 Black 1.2 and Hard SPL 1.10 Oli to my Jasjam, very nice. It took me all last weekend to reinstall the Applications and data.
My current ROM is 3.22.200.4 and Radio Rom is 1.20.31.10. I've just want to know:
1. Is it worth just install this Radio Rom only 1.33.30.10 to improve my GSM reception and WIFI.
2. Also if I install the Radio Rom only- do I still have to reinstall every Applications AGAIN.....
Cheers

About 1000x said there is NO improve in WIFI with radio ROM...this is part of the OS and not the Radio ROM...yes it is worth if you have any older version than 1.38.00.00

It depends on the way you do the install...cause the latest RUU (original one) make task 28 on the end of the install and this mean HARD RESET...I will do my update from SD card...

Well I've been using it for a day now and haven't noticed any huge improvement in the radio but I with more use it may prove to be better.
Noticed the new MS Packet Video player. Guess this is to solve the problems Telstra customers were having with no Foxtel sevices on the Jasjam. I believe it was an issue of Media Player not being compatible.
Also a few small changes to Telstra customizatons. No changes to WM5, still AKU 2.3.
Maybe my imagination, but I thought I used to be able to turn on Flight Mode (radio off) and still have WiFi on, but can't now. Also the tab in Phone options to Update Time has gone, and there seems to be one less tab in the WiFi settings. Guess you can get them back with reg hacks.
Funny how everyone raves about how fast WM6 feels when they first install it... this update made me realise how fast WM5 feels when it is a new/clean install.

I uploaded the Radio Only with the Olipro RUUWrapper so it wont HR after you install. Also NON rapidshare mirror.

As a further enhancement to the Next G (TM) network, Telstra will carry out a platform upgrade which will affect i-mate JASJASM users and will require them to carry out a software upgrade for their handsets. This software upgrade will be available on a CD and on the www.imate.com/jasjamsupport website.
Customers who purchase an i-mate (TM) JASJAM must be informed prior to purchase that their i-mate JASJAM handset will require a software upgrade. Customers must be told that this software upgrade is available on the www.imate.com/jasjamsupport website. CDs with the software upgrade will be available on request from the website soon.
Post the network upgrade, the customer will need to have installed the new software on their device in order to maintain simultaneous voice and data connectivity.
Before the network upgrade, all Telstra i-mate (TM) JASJAM users will be sent an SMS, followed by a direct mail piece with instructions on how to facilitate the upgrade.
Note: the customer must download the upgrade to a PC then to the handset. There is no provision to download directly from the imate site to customers handsets.
Customers are advised to backup all personal data prior to downloading the software to their device.

From that link, the enhancements :
The essential service enhancements include:
• Network enhancement: this upgrade will even further optimize the performance of your i-mate™ JASJAM on the Telstra Next GTM network, taking full advantage of all the latest network enhancements and ensuring you can continue to make/receive calls during a data transmission eg. Direct Push Email.
• Time Zone fix: currently some of your appointments may appear to be shifted forward by one hour. This may have occurred when daylight savings commenced. The service upgrade will help stop this occurring.
• Unknown USB device driver fix: you may have seen an "Unknown USB device" error message appear on your screen. It is extremely intermittent, and only experienced by a small number of devices. The service upgrade will help stop this error occuring.
• Screen Backlight fix: you may have experienced your back light not turning on making it difficult to read the screen. It is extremely intermittent, and is only experienced by a small number of devices. The service upgrade will help stop this occurring.
• Freeze fix: you may have experienced your device freezing up. It is extremely intermittent, and is only experienced by a small number of devices. The service upgrade will help stop this occurring.
• Bluetooth® fix: this enhanced version of Bluetooth® is designed to improve the ability to connect your i-mate™ JASJAM to other Bluetooth® compatible accessories eg. Bluetooth® headset or car kit.

Anyone extracted the cab files from EXTROM?
Hi
Are the new Windows Media streamer install file located in the EXT rom?
Can anyone extract those from the installation file and post them somewhere?
Thanks

While it's technically OK to use with the radio ROM you created, it's bad advice in general (particularly if you have Hard-SPL installed). The "Force SSPL" option should only be used to upgrade/downgrade Hard-SPL. The latest Custom RUU (V4) has SPL auto-detect. When it doubt, use that!

Upgrading Extended ROM with ER2003edit

Hi there,
I know, there is also a special thread regarding this issue, but my question is more general:
I want to upgrade the (write protected) Ext ROM of my XDA. As I do not have an upgrade tool from o2, I've downloaded the latest upgrade from T-Mobile Germany and followed Softworkz's instructions and made my own Extended ROM.
But now I am not sure, if it will be possible to flash my XDAII with the MDAII flash utility (will be flashing the ExtRom with o2 Files only). Do I need the original o2-Sofware to flash or can I take any HTCHimalaya-Software to flash my device?
Thanks for comments...
Bobopopo
Hi Bobopopo!
As stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6289 it's quite easy. You'll find a step-by-step How-To (in GERMAN!) here:
http://www.smartphone4u.de/xda2/tipps_tricks/extended_rom.html
And it works like a breeze! The only thing is that I don't know, whether your O2 xdaII will accept the T-Mobile ROM - but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't.
Only issue could be the Radio Stack Upgrade, but I have no problems at all with the T-Mobile Radio Stack in the O2 network.
Also I don't know of a way to backup your original ROM of the xda II - but maybe theres still the bootmanager way to back it up to an SD-Card!
Grüsse,
Klaas.
Finally flashed the ROM of my German XDAII with a German T-Mobile ROM (1.60). Has been no problem at all and I am impressed how easy it was (using ER2003edit). The only thing I have to work on is the homezone control, it is not working yet but not so important anyway.
I cooked my own ExtROM, but I think it will need some more improvement.
1. Is there any tool that further compresses the Extended ROM? (My ExtROM ist full but I would love to put some more programs inside)
2. My target is, that the XDAII will need about 5 minutes after a hard reset to install all the required software and get back the old settings. Will a backup with ActiveSync also remeber the favorits, connection settings, program settings aso.?
3. Is it possible to flash with the speed of USB 2.0? Until yet I have only tried with USB 1.1. (because I use a PCMCIA-card to provide USB 2.0 and the flashing manual says not to use an USB hub).
Thanks for some more tipps & tricks...
Bobopopo
@bobopopo and @admiral_k
Hey, I see your are also O2 customers in germany and also have the
homezone feature of O2.
When you did the upgrade, you also upgraded the radio stack...
I think the homezone feature is linked to radio-stack, so Homezone-Control will not work with t-mobile radio-stack.
I see two options... leaving out the radio-stack upgrade or forget the homezone-control.
Could you please write your impressions if it's worth upgrading the radio-stack. Actually if have the homezone-control disable most of the time so I would not really care, but it's nice to know that i can check if I am in my homezone... ( really interessing if you surf the web via local dial-in numbers... )
regards
Alex
Until now I did not see any improvements on the Firmware of the XDAII, but the T-Mobile ROM is working fine...
Regarding the Homezone control, I am pretty sure that this has nothing to do with the radio stack (Reason: After upgrading the whole firmware, the Homezone has been indicated (after a softreset) and disappeared after the next softreset.
So I think the Homezone control is dependent on the Ext. ROM (that I cooked myself by taking some of the new T-Mobile Ext. ROM and some of the old o2 Ext. ROM). Maybe I just didn't find the right mix.
I'll post a solution as soon as I find one...
Hi guys!
I am in a simular situation, I hava MDA II with T-Mobile OS and a German O2 subscription.
I would like to add the auto config for O2, could this be done, if yes how specifically can this be done.

Unable to Flash

Hi all,
New to this forum. Actually, new to the device (so PLEASE be gentle ). I have an AT&T/Cingular 8525 I got two nights ago (14 Aug) and am trying to upgrade to the latest release version for Cingular. I've downloaded and installed the RUU file on my desktop computer.
When I execute it, I go through the steps as indicated, and when it gets to the point where it starts to push the update - my ActiveSync on the desktop shuts down. I then get the failure message and am left in the cold.
My device came with:
ROM 1.34.502.1
Radio: 1.16.00.00
Protocol: 32.53.7018.01H
I'm running ActiveSync v4.5.0 build 5096.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Joe
edit: I've been reading the upgrading notes on this forum, and haven't seen anywhere the problem with ActiveSync closing down. Also, didn't find this forum until AFTER I started looking at ROM upgrades. I'm surfing around now so I don't brick my phone.
What OS you running? Vista? XP?
Keep reading as you are doing now - good work.
Desktop OS is XP MCE
My desktop is running XP Media Center Edition, and I'm up to date with the service packs and other High Priority and Optional updates (via Windows Update).
I am able to ActiveSync with the Desktop without a problem. It remains connected and data is passed. I can browse the device.
When I try to execute the RUU file, I hear the "device disconnect" sound, the ActiveSync window closes (I've been leaving it open on the desktop), and then the upgrade times out.
WTFO.
I continue to read, but may end up keeping the unit on the original software (not my optimal solution). Anyone else experienced the ActiveSync termination problem on the desktop?
Thanks again,
Joe
Well, have you upgraded anything? Like upgrading the SPL to HardSPL?
What I would do, is this:
1. Read Mrvanx.org upgrade guides.
2. Put HardSPL on there. (If you have the disconnect problem, just put the phone in Bottloader mode, then plug into USB, then run the RUU.)
3. Upgrade to whatever ROM. Try the normal way, if that doesn't work, try the "start in bootloader" method described above or try the SD Crd flashing method.
I personally, take apart any ROM that I want to flash (use winrar to extract the exe and dutty's good nbh tool to extract and rebuild the nbh) and use the most recent custom_ruu and flash that way. I never use whatever RUU is packaged with the ROM. I don't have communication problems. Give it a try, don't give up. If you need to find stuff, try the google search link in my signature - the best way to find stuff on the forums.
Todd,
Thanks for the replies. I just downloaded HardSPL, and will try that when I get home tonight. I also downloaded "Hermes_WM6_WWE_vp3G_v3[1].0.0_ATT.rar" to upgrade to WM6.
To answer your question, no, I haven't upgraded anything (yet). I have been able to put a couple of programs on the device (Battery Pack Pro, Photo Contacts Pro, and Conversions in Hand), and they all work fine.
I'll try the bootloader method if I can't get ActiveSync to make it happen.
Stand by for my (hopefully happy face) post(s) tonight.
Joe
Well, I'm wearing my smiley face 'cause I was able to successfully flash an update into my 8525 last night. While I didn't do it on this machine (my desktop - didn't try), I was able to install Hard-SPL and upgraded to WM6 from a different computer.
I am still running radio version 1.16.00.00, but will try to update that over the weekend. I figued that since I haven't BRICKED this thing yet, I'll keep working on it until I do .
Thanks to all (especially the over 970 postings in the Hard-SPL thread - I read through ALL the pages). This is a great site and I'm looking forward to customizing the H3LL out of this phone.

Reading through the pages is why you are wearing your smiley.
Glad you got it going. Since you are on AT&T, I would suggest you start with Radio 1.50 or 1.48. Those are the ones I have had the greatest success with. 1.48 was shipped with a Cingular update and 1.50 is the newest. I don't know what carrier it shipped with, but it has worked well for me and others I know who are on Cingular.
Good luck and have fun!

Thanks. I'm thinking about 1.48 as I've seen a number of folks with it in their profile. Since I loaded Hard-SPL on the device, I should be able to safely update just the radio, right?
Any benefits to going all the way to 1.50?
Joe
Edit: I upgraded to radio 1.48 (using MrVanx guides). The step-by-step procedure was absolutely OUTSTANDING! I have tested the phone, and IT WORKS! Only difference is now I connect via Edge (shows an E), before it was GPRS(?) (it showed a G). Does it really matter which connection method it uses?

Yeah, you can do just the radio. No problems.
Regarding 1.50, I personally get better battery life. Reception seems about equal to 1.48 for me. Performance is highly dependent on your geographic specifics. Personally, I would put 1.50 on for a few days, then try 1.48 for a few days. Then you can pick whichever one works best for you.
Thanks. As you can see from my edit, I successfully updated to 1.48. I'll use this as my baseline and then see about going to 1.50 in a bit.
Thanks again,

Hello marinerjoe,
I have tried to upgrade my friend's Hermes and experienced the same problem. Instead, I can flash Hard-SPL on it but fail at upgrade (being kicked out by the Activesync).
May I know if you just complete the upgrade with a different computer with nothing else? Could you advise me your path of success?

I did not attempt to do the upgrade from the same desktop machine upon which I had my problems. Instead of trying some troubleshooting suggestions I read on this site, I took the easy way out . I went to a different machine that I had administrator priveleges on, and did it there.
The difference between the two machines? My desktop has Symantec Antivirus and the Symantec firewall. The other machine (that worked) doesn't have the firewall. There are other differences also, but I'm thinking the firewall might have been a contributing factor.
Others on this board with WAY MUCH more experience with me can tell you if I'm full of SH!T or not (there are some here who aren't shy or afraid to FLAME SPRAY those less ed-ju-ma-cated).
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. GOOD LUCK!

Help with a MDA Vario II

Hi everyone,my name's Larry and I just registered to the forums. Please forgive my newness but I am in a bit of a pickle here.
I have a MDA Vario II, aka Hermes 300, that I bought s/h off ebay. Works fine,no worries, but I upgraded to WM6 because i felt browsing was a little slow and the screen graphics werent as good as I expected. The upgrade was from the T-mobile site itself and all went fine. Only thing is I dont believe this phone can handle it(needs more RAM really) and after being online a while it gets really slow, like steerig a cow through treacle at times so I came to the conclusiong it was a bad move! Now I've noticed a link on here about downgrading to WM5 but is it that easy for one with no specialised tools or knowledge(tho i did build my own PC, or should I say ahem WE did)
Also a problem the phone has developed since the upgrade is it keep deleting my email settings, even tho on the 'desktop' screen it tells me i have so many unread emails in each account! So now i cant check emails from it either!
I do hope I can sort this out cos it is really frustrating having a PDA and not being able to browse properly!
Many thanks
Larry
Welcome to XDA-Developers larry. Well Firstly i would start with CID unlocking your device so that you can flash any rom you can do that by downloading hard spl from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
then once you have flashed that you can basically download and install any rom for the hermes. I have an mda vario ii and hate the t-mobile rom as it installs quite a bit of useless crap. I never use and it is also so damn ugly. if after installing a new rom you find you have internet connection problems and/or mms settings then download and run this http://rapidshare.com/files/92547562/UK_Setup.exe that will install the settings for internet and mms for all uk networks, the majority of the cooked roms on here though ,already have a network wizard to set it up for you, but better to be safe than sorry
P.S. I forgot to add if you are looking for speed and extra ram i would look for a vanilla(clean) rom, install that and then add the apps you want via cab files, you will find them scattered about all over this site

all your question answered here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
I have looked thru the wiki and cannot find the advice I need.
My device has the following on it and what I would like to know is if I can actually drowngrade the device back to WM5.
The rom version is 3.60.110.4 (T-mobile UK)
The radio version is 1.50.00.00 so I assume that it is boot 0108.
The IPL is 1.04 and the SPL 2.03.
The protocol reads as follows 32.83.7020.20H
I have come across a guide that states if the radio is above 1.27.00.00 then downgrading may not be possible.
"(NOTE: If your radio version is currently HIGHER than 1.27.00.00 then it is very likely the radio bootloader is version 0108, this WILL NOT allow the radio to be downgraded to a radio containing BL 0106 and will result in a "NO GSM" error.)" -http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=41&Itemid=27
The other question I would like to ask is this - it is possible to put another verion of WM6 on with this radio version?
Thanks for any advice!
Can anyone help me here!
Do I need to SIM unlock my PDA to update the ROM to a custom ROM, for example Schaps_WM6Pro_Hermes_4.30 which I recently downloaded from here.
At the moment it is locked to T-mobile. I have also updated the SPL to 2.10 olipro and the radio is at 1.50.00.00 and the HTC boot is 0108.
Thanks guys

I think you might not have gotten help 'cause it doesn't look like you've read what people pointed for you to read. Hopefully this'll help you get over the jargon hump and make progress. Having upgraded from the Offical T-Moble rom and swapped ROMs, it's definitely worth taking the time to learn how to do.
SIM unlock & CID unlock aren't the same.
If you've had you phone with T-Mobile for at least 3 month they will let Unlock you SIM (at least they do in the US). Contact them directly, you'll need an active account & phone number with them. This is free.
CID unlocking allows flashing ROMs onto your PDA. For some reason the folks at T-mobile, etc want you to have to look at their stuff every time you use a machine you bought through them. Using a cooked rom is like reinstalling XP without having AOL on your computer, makes life much better.
(flashing = installing to a PDA's Read Only Memory)
(ROM = OS + Radio + other stuff = basically everything thats on the PDA after a hard reset)
Flashing can be a dangerous thing, you don't want to 'brick' your PDA so you install an escape hatch. Hard SPL is that escape hatch.
(Brick = peice of baked clay = your PDA if a ROM install fails and you didn't install Hard SPL first)
The Hard SPL protects you if the ROM you installs fails 'cause power went out, ROM was bad, you bumped the cable, etc

I wont be using another network but will be staying with T-mobile W n W.
I did it!
Well I did it. flashed the phone with Schaps WM6 4.30 WWE.
Have noticed it runs faster than the previous T-Mobile WM6 and has some really neat features-you can adjust a lot more settings on the phone than before, quite impresed! Thanks for everyones help!

I have US Cellular also. Read the thread on how to unlock you phone. You will need to update your radio also. DCD 4.1.2 is the one I run and it is very good.
Start by going here
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Titan
Or this post is more orientated to USCC
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24511&highlight=uscc
Howdy,it's a breeze, just a bit scary at first but well worth it. Holla out if you need some step by step. 1. get good unlocker, 2. update radio to the latest dcd's offered. 3. upload carrier (uscc, right!) it will say cellsouth but dont worry, its just a name we can fix later, then load dcd's 4.1.2 rom. Set your GPS com to 4 and baud to 4800, dont let window automatically manage, too slow.
I was wondering how your coming with all the reading. I just ran accross your post and reminds me of doing this to my uscc titan last weekend. Always write ALL of your information from EPSt (##778 send) save it as a text on your computer, easy access....If you lose any info, I've got it here on mine. Let me know how it goes, really hard to mess up, dont worry....KC

Hi friends ..
I have a problem hopefully can help me, is the following.
I have a 6800 Titan U.S. Cellular and try to upgrade the ROM DCD 3.2.6 but made the mistake to put the ROM in the SPL 1.07.000 or blocked. When completed the installation of the ROM, my phone restart but it did not run the windows just stays on a black screen that says HTC Smart Mobility and no more progress is just there. in the bootloader (3 colored screen) shows that the SPL is 1.07.0000 and even more I've tried the stick olipro 2.40 to unlock the SPL and will not let me.
When you start appearing in small red letters that said R 1.64.00, D 3.2.6
Please help me no longer do that, I think it broke. !

Try updating it via the micro sd card. I believe this happened to me once and that is what I had to do. Just follow the instructions in one of the previous links.
And the radio is to old for that rom.

when told by the method of the microsd card, refer to NueSPL 2.47? because if so, for that is required to synchronize the phone with active sync so to put the exe in any folder of NueSPL and then format the card in fat32. The problem is that my phone can not synch with the active zync, that otherwise can have a flash card 2GB believe that this affects the flasheo through titaimg.nbh because all that I have just run is the gray screen with the legend that says "Loading ..."
I too have a USCC 6800 with 2.17.557.0 and 1.64.00 on it. I am new to the whole phone flashing scene, and have spent literally all day today on these forums searching and reading. Did you get yours working, and if so, what did you end up using? The main things I am looking for are GPS support and windows mobile 6.1 instead of 6.0, if that is possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Would the upgrade for the Alltell/Sprint versions of the 6800 on the HTC site work with the USCC version? From what I can tell they are the exact same handset, just with different software features by their respective service provider.
i just put wm6.5 on my phone, its running...OK but too slow, I'm gonna go back to dcd 3.3.4 or maybe try a different one.
I am still hesitant of changing anything with mine. I guess I am too afraid of choosing the wrong thing and bricking it. I think I have a pretty good handle on how to do it, but not so much on the various files. If anyone has a good (tested) setup, please share the links to the various files.
Just wondering, are any of you who are having problems with flashing from the Kenosha, Racine, or Milwaukee Area of WI?
If so, I may be able to help you. I go to school in downtown Milwaukee and have flashed USCC roms on my phone many times before. I could unlock your phones and flash them for you as long as you payed me for the time to do so.
Thanks
Dave

[Q] T-mobile HD2 Update MR Software (Version 3.14.531.1), What is it?

T-mobile HD2 Update MR Software (Version 3.14.531.1), What is it?
Today T-mobile release a new software update. Does anybody know what it is for?
I assume if you have a rom installed it is no good. I am running Energy Rom, and Radio 2.15.50.14, so I am assuming updating would be a bad idea.
yeah has anyone installed it and what are the benefits of it?? I want to know b4 installing...
You may get better answers over in the TMOUS HD2 forum on this
Features of the 3.14.531.1 update
I also had the same question - what is it that changed with the new HTC HD2 ROM? I spent a lot of time searching, and found this:
Pasting the text below, just in case that link dies (I hate it when that happens):
[pasted from phonesreview uk on 10/22/2010]
==============================================
For all you T-mobile HTC HD2 smartphone users out there who have been waiting for an official software update to land, you’ll be happy to know that today is the day you have been waiting for as T-Mobile is to release software update version 3.14.531.1 to the HTC HD2.
According to an article over on Tmonews, the new software update from T-mobile will deliver several fixes along with stability improvements and access to new apps like Amazon MP3 and Shazam. As for those bug fixes…
The new software update will fix such stuff as slow browsing when on Facebook, the inability to delete Gmail messages in the preview screen, Twitter errors, SMS being delivered to the wrong person, and the white screen whilst browsing the net, the inability to hear Visual Voicemail, unable to unlock the device, unable to unlock the HTC HD2 with correct password, and the lack of a space bar on company directory keyboard, and finally the speakerphone doesn’t work after using the Call Assist app to call 611.
HTC HD2 user can download the new software update by visiting t-mobile and following the instruction; however T-mobile will issue a notification by text to HTC HD2 users when the update is ready, which should be today the 19th of October so keep an eye on your text messages and let us know how you get along.

It will also **** up some stuff, while fixing others.
No Bluetooth stack fixes...
Its horrible...I'm having the worst connections to apps like Omarket, Marketplace, Slacker Radio...The Wifi will not stay connected...The only thing working as far as connections is the internet.
edit: Everything's working now except the Facebook app.

yes, it will be locked again! But, there is no reason why T-mobile will not request an unlock code from HTC on your behalf. Usually it takes 24-48hrs

Why you say it's a bad idea...because the official is no good or because you can damage the phone this way ? I went from omega to the 3.14.531.1 and I experience many problems freezes restarts etc ...I think the update damaged the phone (although it was successful)

you probably left hspl installed, 3.14 plus hspl = "many problems freezes restarts etc"
Ι am no expert but I am sure I replaced HSPL with SPL 2.08
Still I experience all these freezes and restarts with both 2.13.531.1 and 3.14.531.1 versions (in 3.14.531.1 it even freezes when you insert the memory card)
Can it be something else ?

so, is that spl 2.08 or hspl 2.08 or spl 2.08.0000 or hspl 2.08.hspl? clarity please, leaving off the last 4 digits prevents us from double checking your work.
enter bootloader, whats it say next to spl? (all of it, not just the x.xx bit)

Entering the bootloader right now says 2.10.0000
It must have been changed after flashing the official 2.13.531.1 (via USB)
Prior to doing that I had run the utility hspl3 and chosen 2.08.0000 (there are 2 choices in this utility as you say 2.08.0000 and 2.08.hspl) so (I thought) I had replaced the hspl with the official loader
Does this utility (hspl3) effectively changes the SPL or just updates the displayed number ?
Do you suggest following the micro SD card method to flash and not the USB method ?
I read somewhere that the ONLY way to replace the SPL is by flashing from micro SD...so what is the hspl3 utility for ?
Can you help me with that please ?
I need help because the phone right now although it seems to have been flashed correctly to official 2.13.531.1 and displays 2.10.0000 as it's SPL version freezes and restarts every some minutes...

yes, because you chose teh wrong 2.08 (next step) it will be changed by usb flashing. Had you chosen 2.08.hspl, this would still say 2.08.hspl

thats old instructions.
for a start hspl .exeis for applying hspl, not just removing it - you can simply run hspl3 (or hspl4, whichever, makes no difference) - choose an spl ending .0000, hspl is gone. choose one with .hspl and, , , guess, , , yes! it loads hspl onto teh phone.
Can you help me with that please ?

yep, happens a lot that, especially with stock roms,, give 3.14 a try perhaps.
3.14.531.1 has more problems...not only it freezes with certain applications (or making phone calls) but it freezes when inserting the microSD card as well...that's why I went to 2.13.531.1...at least I could keep the microSD inside without freezing...
And that's why I think it's not a firmware-software issue...that's what I'm trying to verify...
Now I have another bigger issue...after trying to flash a firmware that I think it wasn't T-Mobile's by mistake (the phone is T-Mobile model) the SPL is now 3.03.0000 and the 2.13.531.1 and 3.14.531.1 firmwares refuse to start flashing
Is there something I can do ?
I want to go back to 2.13.531.1 so I can sent it to T-Mobile
Thanks
Use hspl4, choose 2.08.hspl, reflash 2.13.
Sounds like you flashed a non tmous stock 3.14,,, don't do anything that silly again.
Just confirm for us,,, your send key is green, right?
Thank you very much I used hspl4 and managed to go back to the proper ROM
As for the send key if you mean the key with the little telephone on it yes it's green...the phone is T-mobile it says so on the top
Now that I have tried 2.10.531.1 - 2.13.531.1 and 3.14.531.1 versions and all 3
suffer from strange freezes and restarts when making phone calls or watching movies from the internet or the storage card (after some time) don't you think it's safe to presume that there is a hardware fault and return it to the vendor ?
Do you think there is something else for me to try ?
Thank you again for your help...
