o2 XDA II software upgrade disaster - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Hi
Unfortunately I was in the middle of upgrading the software to version 172181 when I decided, for some strange reason, to pick the phone up out of the cradle and make a call. DOH!
I can no longer get the phone to boot up / turn on it is just stuck on the low light o2 backscreen and shows
r 1.17.00
g 1337.20
d 1.72.00wwe
Im quite literally just stuck on that screen, the phone wont seem to reset, reboot or hard reset or turn on or off.
I assume im doing the hard reset correctly on/off button and reset button with stylus.
I did see somewhere to use the on/off button, camera button, record button and reset button with stylus but this does not appear to work either.
I don't know whether the condition is terminal or not but anyone can help i would really appreciate it I have a lot of information on there that is very valuable to me.

hi
had same problem D/pad on/off button and reset release reset first and it should put it back in bootloader mode then do upgrade again, it did work for me

thanks newquaymarc
ive done that now ive got a low light page that says
"serial" at the top
"v1.03" at the bottom
any idea what i should do next?

Oooh upgrade seems to be installing \o/
Thanks
would you happen to know if there is any way I can manage my contacts from the pc? i searched activesync and there appears to be nothing there. My old motorola bought up kind of a virtual phone on the pc and managing and adding contacts was easy.

It's bcoz the flashing/upgrading/installing of ur fone seems not to be finished. Always follow instruction. If you really want to do something, think twice so you never messed up. nweiz, try to load it again in bootup mode and re-flash it. there are a lot of ROM for the Himalaya, you can download one. Try to search. again, FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!

if you by this mean that you press the tip of your stylus into the hole in the left part of button of the xda once then yes
then try to turn it on using the turn on / off button
I tried, but it did not turn on, when I put it to cradle led is green, but when I get it out of cradle I do not see any light on led. I tried to power it on pushing that button, but nothing happens
is anybody able to help me?
If it neither works in the cradle or on battery power then I would suspect a component on the charging circuit has died or your battery is kaput, by doing a reset it should switch on automatically.
but holding power button and doing soft reset I could get to wallaby bootloader, so battery does work. any other suggestions?
If holding power and rest works then the power button is functional, have you attempted to flash the xda before this happened? What happens if you push the green telephone button bottom left of your xda? Have you tried a hard reset, using the unscrewed top half of stylus to push once in the tiny hole bottom right of xda, leave for 1 minute then push once more. You will lose all data but your data isnt much good if you cant switch on.
yes, I tried to hard reset it several times, but had no result. now I am trying to wait for several minutes during hard reset. when I press green button - nothing happens. I did not try to flash my XDA before those problems appeared. no it did not turn on even after 5 minutes... :-( please help!!!!
I had installed KSE TrueFax 2 and this power issue happened to me. Could not switch it on at the XDA at all, and had to so a soft-reset to get it to switch on. After I uninstalled the fax sowftware, everything worked okay again.
so you can power phone on pressing button and dping soft reset. yes? what do you see? wallaby bootloader? what to do next to run operational system? I just see 4 color stripes and below GSM OK, that is all, what should I press?
dmjass, it seems to me that you have lost or corrupted your rom, if you havent been flashing the xda its beyond me why this should happen. I would download a new rom, not radio stack, just the rom and use the sd card method of flashing, this should restore your system if the hardware is all ok, you have a working bootloader and an intact gsm stack so give it a try as you have nothing to lose by doing this.
I think trying to do the SD-card ROM update is your best bet as well.
If it turns out that you cannot get your unit running again, I would be interested in purchasing it for testing purposes and replacement parts.
Good luck!
-Robert
thank you friends for your advices, but please let me know how to perform flashing rom by sd card. I will appreciate all your help, please describe that process in details. ok? thank you.
PDA bad ROM?
I am experiencing the same problem after having dropped it off my belt clip. Now the unit just says "Welcome to T---Mobile, G324e4 // R6.25.02 // 4.01.16 and none of the buttons work except for the boot stylus ones. Can anyone help?

It shouldn't - I am running apps from mine at the moment without problem.
Thanks a lot, it has been stable for more than a week after removing some of the programmes. But now every few days the speaker turn itself to silent and I can't get any ring tone. I soft rest and go back to normal. I ahve to do this every few days.
Did you have same prob, and how can I fix it.
reflash the rom!
Do you mean hard rest? if different how can I reflash?
Ah Ah Ah...
It not only a simple hard-restart your device, but upgrade your ROM to the latest, then try to find if it is better.
I already have the latest, should I connect to PC and reload the new upgrade again?
definately, use the bootloader mode....ie. camera+softreset button together then plugin USB to PC and run DSUU

Help!

Hi all
I have a Lobster 700tv phone which I think is brilliant, but I'm looking to upgrade the software from mobile 5 to mobile 6. I have windows xp on my pc is this possible?
The reason I'm asking is that my phone is somehow stuck in headset mode (even without the headset plugged in) and I can't figure out on how to get it back to normal. Even when the phone rings, I get the ring tone, but have to plug in the headset to answer the call. (I've done a cold reboot and it's done no good). I took it to a phone repair shop yesterday and they've said that it's a software error.
Has anyone else had the same sort of problems?
Or if anyone can advise on a possible solution (apart from throwing it out of the window!) I'd be grateful.
Thanks
If its a software issue a hard reset should bring you back im not sure what a cold reboot is so you may have tried this, also never heard of your phone so i wouldnt know ho to hard reset. If hard reset doesnt work then you will probably have to flash a new rom, possibly to wm6 if you can find the rom.My advice is lots of searching and reading... good luck
wm6 won't come soon to my and your lobby's screen
it requires a LOT of time to be done, special tools, extracted ROM for the operation and so on, (btw the phone isn't very commercial, wide-spread and so on, which is demotivating programmers)
ANYWAY, now on the topic:
you can try the CLEAR STORAGE option
found in accessories, it does almost fully hard-reset the phone, but preserves DAB app (I read somewhere, that hard resetting did remove the app, but I'm not sure now...)
anyway, here's how to do the hard reset:
1. Press and hold soft1 and soft2 keys (i.e. menu keys).
2. Press and hold power button for around 1 to 1.5 seconds. Release power button. Keep holding both soft keys.
3. After a while, black screen should show instructions asking user to press '0' key to reset to factory default.
4. Press '0' within the timeout period (which is very brief).
If instructions don't appear on the screen, repeat steps 1 to 4.
it'll show the boot screen, and afterwards a black background with the typings, quickly press 0 to reset, sit and wait
as usual, backup all contacts, data, apps, stuff like that, and then do the job

Hi there Prodigyfied,
Greetings from cloudy and overcast England.
Thanks again for the info.
I've tried what you've suggested, and it's still the same. Do you or anyone else have any other ideas?
Thanks

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner!

Should have enough suggestions to get you working!
Good luck.

SPV m3100 Forgotten phone password

Firstly I would like to thank numourous people on this website, as a long time reader and solver of a few phones I have had over the last year, its thanks to you people that I have been able to fix, upgrade, and modify these phones.
Thank you all.
My problem is I recently bought 3 of these SPV m3100 from a local boot sale, 2, I've got working, unlocked and WM 6.1 installed and mobile shell, running perfect, the other one starts and gets up to the phone password, which I have no Idea what it is, I've tried to do a hard / soft reset ,I can get it into bootloader, but It trys to sync with activsync but says "unlock password !"
I've also tried a 1gb micro sd card, but again nothing happens as its locked, I've downloaded the manual and it states that if you have lost the password, you have to clear the memory!!!
I've tried to do a hard reset but I do not get the option of returing phone to original( assuming this might get rid of the password?) I just get a white screen with no writing for me to press "R", bootloader is the coloured bars, and when normal booting, screen is perfect up to password screen!
Any help would be appreicated.
Many thanks again

Switch off the SPV M3100, then on the bottom of the phone you have the answer call and end call buttons in clusters of 3 buttons on each side. The Top button on the left is a dash like symbol -- above the windows button, and you have the same dash like symbol button -- on the right above the ok button. You need to hold down both the dash-like symbol buttons and the middle silver button at the same time, then restart the phone. The phone will ask you if you want to reset the entire phone memory and settings back to factory settings and confirm this by using the Query keyboard letter "R". Click R and it will wipe it and set it back to its original settings. Hope this helps. Thanks Pete from www(dot)86plex(dot)com

Htc diamond touch stuck on windows 6.1 screen

My sprint/boost mobile HTC Diamond Touch phone suddenly just hung and stayed on the lock slider screen. I cannot answer calls or do anything. I tried to soft and hard reset the device and every time I tried all the reset combination, the phone just kept vibrating for a long time without anything happening. I flashed the rom and when it came back up, it showed the green windows ver 6.1 screen and it tells me to "tap the screen to set up your windows mobile based device"
I have tried tapping the screen with the stylus and nothing happens. Don't know what else to do. I am open to re flash as I have my data backed up and don't mind losing the data. Also my sliding keyboard has stopped working weeks before this recent problem. Any ideas?
Thanks for any help

Which ROM did you flash?
I'm asking this since you posted on the Touch Pro forum.
HTC diamond touch pro is the cell phone for Sprint.

I don't have a ROM preference, but if you're trying to reflash and you can't do it through activesync, all you have to do is connect the TP to the PC w/usb cable, hold down the power and volume down button while pressing and releasing the reset button with the stylus (while leaving the power/volume down pressed). It will keep it in the SPL mode, but you should be able to reflash in that mode.

Thanks. I took it to a repair store and they told me that the touch screen is faulty and needs to be replaced. They have ordered the replacement screen and hopefully, I will be able to reflash it after.
