is it possible to run Call of Duty 2 on the SPV m 3100? it currently wont boot. how do i check available ram and free it? In the memory option in setting, the first tab is storage card free memory isn't it?

I don't know anything about Call Of Duty...never heard of it. But as to your Q regarding Free Program Memory, no, that has nothing to do with the Storage Card (which is the second tab BTW). Program memory can be found in the right column on the first tab, and represents the amount of RAM available for running programs. There is no convenient way to free up space there without third party apps. One such app is SK-Tools, but you can't expect it to release a whole lot of space. Only a couple of MB, at best.
SK-Tools also has a few 'clean' functions that might help you clear out some space on your device storage and the storage card, but that won't help you with Program Memory.
All three types of memory are for different things, or in the case of storage, different locations (device vs storage card).
Hope this helps,
-pvs

I tried installing Call of Duty on my 8525 and it installs, but when I click on it to try to play it, it doesnt do anything.

Looking at the PocketGear page, this requires a device with an XScale to run.

ive played this game on my Magician,
i wouldnt be too worried about not being able to play it i mean its good and all but considering the size of the game and the way the controls work its really not worth it.

thanks for the replies guys. I just fancied running some decent 3d stuff on the htc100 to see what it can do. what runs well on it and can it do 3d reasonably well? i have a small collection of games to try out on the device quake1 not really playable for reasons i guess are similar to CoD2 but krally and anthelion2 and warfare inc are fun with in a 3d environment but what do you guys use? I know its not a gaming device but its nice to have some swish looking games on hand.

lol i know what you mean,
virtual pool is one of my favourites its near impossible to beat though so can be a pain in the backside.
a new one thats out is machines at war that was posted in the main general forum, im hanging out for that one.
also the game called "the quest" is quite addictive there are 3 really good expansions if you are into RPGs, the graphics on it are quite average but the game play cant be beaten and by far its one of the best RPGs on the pocket pc. also try the everquest series, has decent graphics and can be addictive its quite old now however but had a few expansions if you like the main game.

i was gutted when CoD2 didnt play on my TyTN but played on my dads Wizard fine! imho its a good game and IF it ran on the Tytn it would be perfectly playable! (quater of screen size of Wizard)
i hope someone can port it possibly but no source code has been released
Quake 1 works PERFECTLY ... ALTHOUGH ... i have an annoying bug when whereever i TOUCH the screen with the stylus, it frames per second drop dramatically ... from about 25 to about 3 ... i have Schlaps WM6 ... this isnt the right thread for me to say that and i'm reposting elsewhere later tonight so don't both answering.
krally is pretty good, and the BEST game is Tomb Raider for ppc, its only 8mb, and if you side open the TyTN and use the direction key (next to screen) for moevement and the keys around "S" (the ones all around it) for actions it works great very playable and i recomend it, although i'm stuck =/

Could not get it to work on the trinity either.

CoD2 needs 28MB of free program memory. Readme says that it may not run if it detects not enough memory. 28MB on Hermes is something near the value of free RAM after cold boot with most ROMs. The best that I've seen is 32MB, but I'm not having Hermes for long time yet. With my Schap's 3.57a I have 23MB now. I'll try that program "SK-Tools" and if it won't work, flash any super lite ROM and I'll know if it's free mem issue. I bet it is, because it works on Wizard as GilesTheAlmighty said. (Wizard has shared storage+program memory; I guess and maybe slightly remember [I had one] you can free up more memory for programs, right?)

Didn't work with 29MB. I give up :]

its a shame about the direction pad only being 4 way and only being able to press one button at a time. I find michael shumachers karting 2002 pretty good when you use the keyboard. Age of Empires is very good just a bit old. I have K-rally but its a bit easy. Warfare inc is great as a simple rts.
One of the most used is Handmark's Scrabble they do monopoly too.
If only snow rally had better control option. Disapointed with that one. Fifa 2002 is a good laugh as is ultimate football. Anthelion2 is long and nicely done where it's nice to look at too.
I haven't tried virtual pool I do have Billiard Master2 though which is hots eat two player and the Ai isn't too bad.
What i'm annoyed at is games like project Gotham are out on s60 but not on the ppc. there seems to be a lack of good new games unless i'm looking in the wrong places.

Nope you aint looking in the wrong places, i also came from the Symbian world. The pocket pc environment has damn good specs but not really alot in the way of games, the games you can get tend to be tricky to use although i like some of the stratergy games and rpg games like the quest which im still trying to finish the latest expansion pack which is going on about 8 months now.
compared to some of the Ngage games though it still doesnt measure up, i dont know how many times i finished Ghost recon on NGage1.

Game - Whack-A-Monty [Beta]

Please check the requirements before you install!!
I'm new to developing on the Pocket PC platform and decided that I wanted to give it a shot. I figured that the best way to learn would be game, so here's my first attempt. This game is based off the New Super Mario Brothers mini-game called Whack-A-Monty (from the Nintendo DS). All of the graphics are from the original game; I have no intention of selling or making a profit from this game so I don't feel bad using their graphics. This is just a learning experience that I thought I'd share with everyone.
Requirements:
In this version (0.1), I have only included support for Pocket PC 320x240 or 240x240 resolutions. Also, I have only tested this on WM5 & WM6 emulators. This will only work on phones with a touchscreen.
This game was written in C# and thus requires .NET CF 2.0.
Again, this is my first attempt at game for Windows Mobile, so this is mostly a learning experience. Please don't crucify me for posting a game here, I'll be moving on to applications next. Let me know what you think!
I haven't tried the cab yet, but if I may I'd like to see the source code, specifically how you did the animation because I've been struggling with that.

This is awesome. Thanks heaps!
Yes this works well and reminds me of the game ratsplat - it needs sound to make it complete - keep up the good work!
VERY VERY cool game lol
Thank you!!!
Would there be any way to enable to input a name with a high score?

Not much animation in this game actually, but I do plan on releasing the code here. I need to do some tidying up first. I found the 'Programming with cheese' articles on MSDN very helpful for starting.
As for adding sound, .NET CF 2.0 has very limited support playing sounds. As far as I could find, there's no *easy* method for mixing sounds, or playing more than one sound at the same time. I need to do some more research on sound...

Hmm... I thought about this originally. I might bring it back.
Overall, I'm more interested in seeing if anyone has had problems installing the game (shortcuts work / in correct place), gameplay issues (hits aren't recorded, slow play, ...), stability issues, etc
Not working...
Hi there, the screenshots of your game look pretty cool. Unfortunately, I cannot play it, it's not working.
I own a Dell X51v with WM 6 (football edition A3, release RTM) but haven't installed Microsoft Net Framework (I was told that it is included in WM6). Whenever I start the game, only 25 percent of the game is visible in the upper left corner of my screen, the rest of the game's screen is somehow 'cut off' and my today screen or whatever is visible.
What a petty...
Do you guys know what to do about it? I guess I have already tried to install Netframework, but WM6 refuses to do so if I remember correctly.
Thanks for your help,
7
It installs and runs on my Universal (WM6), but unfortunately the VGA screen makes it unplayable (you can only see the top left quarter of the game area).
If you feel like expanding your learning experience, support for VGA devices would be very nice! And why not include a landscape mode too

Yes!!! Please!!! And I'll give to you 72 virgins without the need of immolate you (I think that 72 virgins is not enough but.. xD) Without jokes, I love this kind of games, and it looks great but I cant play it
All the best
Well I can't give you the virgins, but I would be damn grateful, I'm just getting into this stuff on my Universal, so other than the snes emulator, that I got working everything else is always suspect on the butttons or outdated. So please.
Im still playing the game, its working great!! Any updates?
This game is great and worked excellent on my MWG Atom Life until I flashed to medkid's 6.1 ROM, now when I install it messes with some of the fonts (e.g. on the screen alignment screen and on commanager using poorlyduck's vista theme). The game itself kinda works ok on 6.1 but the stylus isn't very accurate for some reason, often missing some while hitting others. My girlfriend was devastated when I told her she couldn't play whack-a-monty anymore! ;] thanks for a great game otherwise though!
hey, looks great, I'd like to play it on my VGA device too
it reminds me that great flash game tontie.
unfortunately I have yet to see a pda able to play flash games flawlessly
Hey, thanks for sharing! I like it!!
Greetings, Melle.
i tried to use it on my palm treo pro and a part of the screen is cut off...I dont know what the prob is.
very cool and a lot of fun! Also, a very old thread!!
great game!I ultimately know why the game interests you and lead you programming.
vga request
loved it on my kaiser, love it more on my touch pro
Good game for killing more boredom
Thankyou.
no updates?

this forum is dead

It's a shame, but I have been visiting this forum for a year or two now and must say - this forum is dead. It's a shame because , looking at new tablet pcs and similar devices entering the market, I think athena still is a good device, offering a lot of possibilities. Unfortunately I know nothing of ROM cooking and all the cooks have left us. Too bad

Unfortunately, this is the way with all devices these days..... I still use my Athena as a backup unit in case I muck up one of my other units....LOL
Later........... B)
I also think the HTCx7500 continues to be a good device. The things that is attractive with the new devices is the advancement of touch screen technology. Cypress true touch technology for example offer not only multi touch but also the ability to do hovering because the screen can sense the finger as soon as the finger is near the screen.
Undeniably Nice to play and might offer conveniences to a certain degree. But unless there is a way to browse the net as fast as a proper laptop or a way to do document processing or powerpoint slides editing 70% as efficiently as a desktop, what the newer device can offer as compared to HTC x7500 is just cosmetics. I can get the same job done with not much of a problem with the Athena as compared to the newer devices.
So, the things that will attract me to newer devices will be
1. Faster internet browsing
2. Document processing / slide editing
3. Looonger battery life
4. Snappiness of the operating system even after installing many programs
5. softwares availability - not specially controlled by a central "market" and all software makers have to pass their work to them and let their work be distributed by one central point where users can download and use free or paid.
Zooming with 2 fingers or 5 fingers is interesting but zooming by just pushing my athena directional buttons up and down isn't such a difficult job either.
Special today's page / Home menus like the ones in Androids or iphones are also not something difficult to reproduce or customized under windows mobile.
Athena still rocks!
Glad I chose to sell mine when I did. It was a device that was ahead of its time. Shame Android never took off on it.
Something different
The prices of these babies have dropped so much that I just bought one recently... after using various newer HTCs, etc, that are all basically the same, this ancient gadget was actually a breath of fresh air. Besides the marginal interior updates, OS versions, and the gradual screen size upgrades, I really can't figure out what's inherently different with almost all smartphones today... although using the athena needs somewhat of a change in mindset (especially of what is a phone), having something different to play with is already a big plus and an actual experience.... please phone makers, lets make the effort of trying to do something different and not just marketing something as different.
I want to browse the internet, do some emailing, write something in my blog, check auction sites, watch youtubes, can the HTC x7500 handle that? (YES - Opera mini, streaming player, etc)
I want to do some word processing, write a novel, edit some documents, and make sure the work can be in sync with my laptop/desktop. Can the HTC x7500 handle that? (YES - pocketword. document2go, softmaker textmaker, pnotepad)
I want to go through my powerpoint slides and rehearse, re position/re sort the slides, correct a few wordings and make sure i can keep both the slides i have in my desktop and my pocketpc in sync, can the HTC x7500 handle that? (YES - pocket powerpoint, clear vue slides, ...)
I want to enjoy listening to some mp3, can the HTC x7500 handle that? (YES - tcmp player, coreplayer)
I want to watch some movies in avi, wmv, flv, rm, mp4 format, can the HTC x7500 handle that? (YES - tcmp player with the correct codecs)
I want to do some voice recording, can the Athena handle that? (YES - resco audio recorder)
I want to share some photos album with friends sitting together in a restaurant, can the Athena handle that? (YES - resco picture viewer)
I want to connect to internet using 3g/ HSDPDA, because WIFI is unavailable, can the ATHENA handle that? (YES - just make sure 3G services in my data card is active)
I want to transfer file from pc, mobile phone to Anthena or transfer from my athena to my friend's mobile phone without using wires, can the Athena handle that? (YES - bluetooth connections, mocha ftp server, ...)
I wan to play some games, ?? (YES - gba emulator, nes..., playstation 1 emulator, Java, Just games made for pocket pc, etc)
I don't see what the other devices (androids or Ipods) can do that i cannot do with my ATHENA. Yes, I would love it if there is a way to try out putting ANdroids os in my athena but it will be just for fun and to know that there is one more choice of os i can use if i feel like it. Honestly, if there is a 7 inch windows mobile device, I might consider.
One of the MOST important thing that keeps me monitoring the android development is actually BATTERY LIFE (7 hrs with wifi on) and fast zooming.
Many people who try to impress me with android will show me how smooth the screen scrolls here and there with just a flick of the finger. Impressive but when i stop to think over, I realized that i am not going to spend my whole time flicking the screen here and there and just for the thrill to see how the screen can actually change simply by a flick of a finger.
What i will do mostly is click on a program i need to use and start typing or imputing. Scrolling and panning is only useful when i am reading long documents like webpages or ebooks. That is why i like isilo because it allows you to scroll without the need to use the scroll bar.
Fast zooming is another thing that i would like to see on mobile devices. The kind of fast zooming used in opera browsers and netfront browsers are heading in the right direction. FAst zooming is already something that is fast developing even under windows mobile environment.
So, in the end, it comes to a matter of which operating system uses less battery power and will allow longer battery life.
My Athena is going on ebay this weekend because I have one of these now, might be something to look into for the rest of you, as there is an active hacker community too:
http://www.slatedroid.com/wiki/index.php?title=Pandigital_Novel
I only used the Athena as a nightstand emailer/websurfer/weatherchecker, so I have no use for a phone. It worked well enough for that, but the PDN is even better for my needs, and now works with android market. Very cool not to have to activesync to move downloaded cabs to the athena, plus there won't be much activity for winmo anymore since everything is incompatible with wp7 as I understand, while android market is just beginning. Just found a solution that works for my needs, and thought I would share it. Athena was good to me, but it's time for her to move on about her life's work.
Fashion
It does seem a shame that just as big screen devices like this one are coming into fashion this forum has fallen into disuse. It doesn't stop it from still being a very good device, and still very usable in my view. Plus with the amount of ROMS to choose from on this forum there must be one to suit most people. You never know, we may get another cook some time.
regards
Jay
Yes, the Android os is very interesting to look at. If someone created a 7 inch - 10 inch screen tablet with windows mobile 6.1, (or even wm5,6), I would seriously consider but of course the battery life must be good and the processor and ram should have enough power to improve internet experience.
I've used all sorts of devices, from Psion to OQO, Everun, Zaurus, HTC BA etc etc. Recently I bought the Ameo and I can say that after some customisation this little device fits my bill perfectly.
The Ameo has been more flexible (keyboard/Tablet, case, landscape/portrait, 3G/WiFi) than the Archos 5IT it replaced. Sure, Android is nice and iOS is fluid and modern, but the Ameo kills them all with a large 4/3 screen.
I'm using it right now with a Logitech wireless mouse, it's been on all day with a 30% battery drain, browsing with Opera Mobile 10 over 3G.
I wish manufactures would revisit the 4/3 aspect ratio, not everybody wants to watch widescreen films all day, and books look terrible in portrait on thin devices.
Many thanks to the members of these forums for all the tweaks and custom ROMs. this Ameo isn't dead yet.
Last week I bought one of the android tablet made in china. It is called APAD 7 inch styleflying.
The android os has somethings going but I have a number of complains. One of them is why did they do away with "scrollbars." While it is true that Many many people enjoy swiping the screen up and down and feel the screen moving at the command of the finger but it is also true that SCROLLBARS do make sense. Without scrollbars, i believe that many users have experience accidentally opening a program while they were trying to flip the screen up and down. android wants to do things differently I guess but in the process, they took away something very practical and useful. Just my personal opinion. If they want to do something that appears different, they can do what HTC hd2 did. When I look carefully, i realise that in fact, HTC hd2 has a kind of scroll bar on the main screen. It doesn't look like the traditional scrollbar but it does the same job. It allows the user to accurately move from page to page by pushing a slider. And who said programs in Android doesn't crash or hang or stop responding. In my experience, they do.
Anyway, it is a free operating system and it is open source so I hope it will improve in time to come.
Meanwhile, my Athena HTC x7500 rocks! If only I can wake up one morning and find my 5 inch screen Athena grow up and become 7 inch screen! Heh Heh!
5 inch is good size. But i would surely not mind having a 7 inch screen HTC x7500 in my collection.
I am new to the Athena myself by just having bought one for about 200 USD - and it was a great find as it is in perfect shape, looks brand new, no scratches whatsoever!
I sold my Acer F900, as I am through with touchphones, I hate them - it's too bulky and smart for a phone, but too little to do productive work (for me that's office and remote computer administration, mainly). So I decided to scrap the smarthphone, and go back to the roots: buy a small and light cellphone with physical buttons and a PDA.
So I went for the x7500, and I love it! It's 3 years old, and still getting the job done!
My only complaint now is with WiFi: it seems to 'forget' the passwords for APs for some reason...
Btw I use an extra light Taxist WM6.1 ROM (42 Megs), as I have my own proven programs I am using for years, so everything except the OS is unnecessary junk.
it is a shame it is not popular.
I have this device since June. I guess I am getting old, and the little screen of my Polaris was just not fun anymore. The screen of the Athena and the real keyboard were really the 2 attractive points before I touched the beast for real.
So here we go for a search and I found one almost new 5 months ago over the net for 200 Euros.
That's probably the best deal I have done.
I have the device at work and at home, also at customer site. I receive my calls (through Bluetooth), while taking notes or making reports. Even camera pictures are good to fill in reports. WM6.5 works great on this fast device, the only thing I miss is the letter recogniser mode when I have to take notes not seating somewhere. But vocal notes do the trick.
i check my mails both personnals and professionnals, review a presentation in the plane, give free phonecalls to my family while travelling, and finish by a good movie or the news on streaming TV.
It is said to be big, but in fact not bigger than a decent leather covered organizer.
So bad they stopped it...
And so bad there is so few brands believing in this all-in-one concept !!!
does anybody of you have a decent, stable ROM for it?
most of the links here are dead and trying the ROMs i was able to find was a great disappointment...i tried them all, even the Wm 6 ones.
thanks!

For dead links to ROMs, the trick is to Google the exact name and see if some kind soul has uploaded them somewhere - try it, it sometimes works.
I am using AGB 3.0 - to be honest, the device is slow by modern standards, and it not really finger-friendly, it takes quite a tap with a finger to get the thing to respond.
However, yesterday, a young American looked impressively at it as I used it in the train, and asked if it was a phone or a tablet - and what OS it ran. I told him it was old, several years old, and ran WM (albeit a new version). OK, he was disappointed - but that is it, this gadget was way ahead of its time, if they did it again, it would succeed with a few tweaks (modern CPU, faster and better battery).

Check Michy's sigs in any of his comments - there is a link to all of his ROMs, he removed it from rapidshare.
I recommend his Clear Edition 6 R1 or something version - I found it quite usable as I wasn't able to revert the WM6.5 start menu, found in the AVG 3 rom, to 6.1.
Nah, not dead, still in daily use by many. My Athena was 3 years old last month and I still haven't found a phone that I might want (the HD2 is close, but I got one for my wife and the screen still just feels too small). Still carry it every day.
Me too! I have tested HD2, tested Androids but the Athena is still amazing!

[GAME] Wheel 0.4.3

Wheel 0.4.3
Let me introduce you my new platform game for Windows Mobile, playable at Pocket PC 2002 and above (yes, really). I’m not a big fan of apps that works on one display resolution only, so the game is screen resolution independent (you can play on QVGA or WQVGA), however it looks best on the HVGA, VGA and WVGA screens.
The most important is that you can press more than one virtual button on you classic resistive screen (as it was capacitive), which makes this type of game comfortably playable even without hardware buttons. Nice, isn’t it?
What is the game itself all about? You control small robotic wheel (which was actually wooden in non-public releases ) chased by devil from outer space (or something like that) who wants your score (but not you life). Score is obtained by collecting yellow stars.
There are no levels, there are dimensions. In each dimension, you have to found interdimensional gateway, which takes you to the new dimension, similar to the previous one, or to completely different. Red arrow accelerates the devil (red aura), green arrow slows down him. Green sprout accelerates your wheel (blue aura), but only for limited time. Also, in the beginning of every dimension, you will get little bit of extra speed, just like when you die and are resurrected.
To save your game, use X -> SAVE. In main menu, use CG to continue.
The game is not yet entirely completed (and I’m not fully convinced if it is worth finishing since Windows Phone 7 are coming). Even so, let me know of any problems, ideas or thoughts. I don’t promise anything, but it could help to make the game better.
Note: I know it's ironic, but the multitouch effect can't work on HTC HD2 because of it's real capacitive screen.
Note 2: The game does NOT use any "multi-touch SDK", as stated here (I don't know why the author wrote it).
The game is completely free for your personal use, although it can be downloaded from the following site ONLY (I know it's annoying, but be fair and respect it):
DOWNLOAD
I hope I haven't forgotten anything and that you will enjoy the game .
(As you probably noticed, english is not my native language so I’m sorry if I have written anything funny .)
AWESOME GAME!!! Works great on my GSM treo pro. No lag and the multitouch is really nice.
Yes, it's really cool !!!
thx !!!
Thanks for your hard work! Nice game...
nice. but please keep a graphical update in mind
I tried your game on my XDA Flame (VGA with WM5).
Must say I'm impressed -especially with the multitouch. Too bad we dont see this in other games!
I'd like a bit faster scrolling and some in-game sound or tune..
Keep up good work plz!
Thank you all for your positive reactions, I am sincerely delighted and a little bit surprised .
I know about poor graphic. I’m not very good at creating it . If there is anyone who wants to help me, I’m enclosing the main graphics files. Transparent color is magenta (R = 255, G = 0, B = 255).
If someone creates something, post it here and I will try to build the game with it .
Good that i still have my Toshiba E830. Will try it tomorrow.
it looks great. One problem on the HD2 - since it is capacitive instead of pressing both keys you need to utilize the resisteive multitouch trick you impoy. in other words, to do multitouch on the HD2 you need to single touch between the two directions you want to go which is actually a little confusing in practice because you need to remember the variables. it does seem to be pretty nice otherwise.
nice game, good design for control
Very, very strong arcade feeling
Graphics may not be top notch, but it fits perfectly with the kind of game, my only glitch is that, no matter my HD2 being obviously multitouch capable, I still cannot press two buttons at the same time... maybe it's because I have LMT installed which "steals" multitouch from the game?
@bugsykoosh
just read your post, nevermind I can play by pressing the middle area, yes it is somehow harder to get the hang of it,m but after that, it kicks in my genetic adversity for arcade games, I die no matter what
Thanks for testing on HD2. I don't know why I didn't get i sooner, but it naturally can't work on real capacitive screen of HD2. I'll add it into the first post...

Thank you very much for your game, RDT!
It is really the kind of games I like to have on my Touch HD: simple but addictive!
I've created a post for your game on a french website by translating your post to french.

Again, thank you very much!
You're probably in the last dimension, the hardest one . I created a video showing how to complete it .
2 michoob: Thanks for writing about my game, I really appreciate it .
The game is a platform where we help our wheeled robot to travel through dimensions and avoid obstacles and enemies.
i guess you have to think about a good story of this game. For example: a little dragon that tries to escape from his bad father or something like that. Make a nice story, and that will be the begin of a nice game
But, when you say I can tap onm two places, do you really mean it? I mean, I am using it on HTC Gene as well as HD2. Double touch not working on HD2 is fine. But I can't make two touches on my Gene too. What's wrong?
dakujem - thanx
gr8t stuff
Playing this game almost after year and a half. Nostalgic. Great work! For those who are curious, I have still maintained my Gene along with the other devices.

Can anyone develop Castlevania lord of shadows windows mobile, game demo inside WVGA

Ok I now most of you have heard of the game Casltevania lords of shadows before. I dont have the tools to make a 3D version for my phone , my tools are only 2D .
I have 2 photos of the Castlvania lords of shadows running on touchpro2 , and the touchpro2 can handle the graphics and sound.
Now I what I have done was make a simple version , just to make sure the phone can handle the graphics. In my version you can move left and right avoiding enemies , and slashing them with your whip. Its WVGA demo only ,tested on touchpro2. You try to get a highscore.
.
I am hoping a developer who has knowlegde of 3D can make 1 or 2 levels on the game so I can play on the go. Thanks to whoever can help us!!!
castlevania lords of shadows
Can any developer with knowlegde of 3D help us. The best I can do will not come out as good as if a 3D developer did it. I would love to see this game on my phone.
last request
Can any developer make a port , this will be last time I ask.
Aim lower...
I know you like to make small games but as you noticed the comminty as pretty much reached a stale state... If you want something done most time you have to DIY.
I don't see the point of a 3d Castlevania (all the good ones are 2d). Also do you have any idea how much work would be behind this (everything would have to be done from scratch: game engine, 3d models...). You must also consider that WM is dead and the game wouldn't run in WP 7. I don't see any luck getting help for such a task.
Anyway if you do decide to continue making games do notice that the tools you use are very limited (at best they are enough for small puzzle games... or Game&Watch like mini-games)... Making games that don't dynamically scale is a bad idea. Most devices are bellow WVGA resolution... And please do develop them past the point of demo (most of your work feels like PoC... they lack the quality of a finished product... a single complete quality game beats a tons of demos).
And don't rip stuff from copyright games (name, sprites musics, whatever... you lucked out so far). There are many Open Source games that deserved being ported (again the tools you use aren't enough for the job) there's no need to make incomplete clones of commercial games.
I know I wrote this with my gloves of but you've got to agree I have several valid points (hope you take it constructively).
That being said the only reason I see that this thread hasn't been closed yet is because you released a cab (request belong in QnA... which nobody reads, I know). And don't triple post man...
games
1) I was excited by playing castlevania lords of shadows . I wanted something for my phone.
2) As for doing it myself , if I could I would have not requested it.
3) I cant make more complex games like castlevania because of lack of multi-touch , maybe someone else has it figured it out.
4) The tool I used doesnt support auto-scale , so I have to make the game separately for each resolution.
5) I released demos so someone who doesnt have money to buy games , can have a choice of simple fun games. If you want commercial quaility games then there are many for you to buy. Its ridiculous to expect someone to sit there and make commercial games for free.
6) As far as copywrites anyone can make a game using commercial charactors , as long as its free. I am no where near the 1st one to do this. All over the internet there are different versions of marios and sonics.
7) Finally I started making games for myself after getting screwed buying $7.99 games and they ended being up trash with good graphics or just not worth the price. Play any gameloft game and you will see what I mean.

Sim City/Anno style peaceful God sims?

Good morning!
It only just occurred to me yesterday, that the large touch screen of the NC would be great for a city building style game like AoE/Anno/Sim City.
I've already seen Anno on the Nintendo DS and iOS so we know the touch interface suits the RTS style of game, but I've not had any luck finding any similar games for Android (except maybe Sim City Metropolis which has generally terrible reviews).
So I was just wondering if anyone had come across some peaceful building sims that I could try out?
Thanks!
There is majesty. You could try that one.
Any other games I would like to know too.
SNesoid then grab SimCity ROM.
Haypi Kingdom looks like it could be interesting, but it won't let me create an account. It just tell me that my device is already registered to someone called jbryant187. Anyone else have this problem?
Are you on froyo? As i understood froyo randomise an imei number at startup. You can have someone else imei..
CM7, but I figured it was something like this. Just annoying that I can't create a new account.
OpenTTD.

Haven't tried it on NC yet, but it's pretty much playable on Dell Streak.
I played Majesty on the NC, its actually really fun and works perfectly - it only has like 8 levels though. So you go through them pretty quickly.
I found one that has some promise, Townsmen 6. Free and paid versions available.
yes. majesty is really good.
there's also Settlers, Townsmen 6, and to a smaller extent Hot Springs Story.
Great thread. I'm about to try out Paradise Island now.
You can also run Warcraft 2 and Starcraft through stratagus. It doesn't have sound like it did on Windows Mobile (but maybe they'll fix it or someone will finally make a decent Android strategy game).

Thank youu
I play Paradise Island and Townsmen6.
Paradise Island is quite boring soon, since only thing is getting money and building new buildings.
Townsmen has more interest, since U must take care of your people.
Amazon was just giving majesty away free as part of there a free app a day promo. It runs well on my nook and its nice on a larger screen.
