No Radio? - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo ROM Development

Yesterday I unlocked my HTC Advantage X7500 with Olipro's Athena unlocker. Then I installed a WM6 ROM from a thread from tupisdin. So far so good. It is working but when I look in de device Information I see this:
ROM version: 2.20.405.1
ROM date: 06/21/07
Radio version: nothing
Protocol version: nothing
ExtROM version: 2.20.405.1
Does this mean my HTC has no radio installed? Is this maybe the reason why my TomTom 6.0 keeps looking for a GPS signal?
How do I solve this problem?

Hello. It sounds to me like you have maybe missed the radio steps in the unlocking procedure. Try re-doing the unlocking again and then reflash with wm6 rom.
Hope this helps............Later

And yes, this probably is the reasing that TomTom can't find a GPS

how about adding some honey n sugar to ur xda2?it will definately b sweet...
the benefits are that it will b sweet like wat u wanted n will attract ants also...
which ROM is best for XDA2
before you do anything to upgrade your XDA2, you need to think anout your satisfaction with your XDA2 now.
If your device work well, you won't need to do anything.
because of ROM upgrade is risky your device please think before do anything.
In my suggestion, the best ROM is T-mobile 1.72. you can search in this forum to find topic about T-mobile 1.72.
think before do anything.
What about if you use 1.66.00 WWE and the damn thing crashes all the time? any reccommendations? A few people have been raving about the imate 1.72
My IMate 1.72 ROM is running okay. A few little problems, but nothing that a soft reset didn't cure.
I'm on the T-Mobile ROM...
ROM version: 1.60.00WWE
Radio version: 1.10.00
... with a customized ExtRom.
i-mate ROM 1.72 doesn't work with my GPS Software (Intellinav - Belkin Navigation System)... and it also has bad Cleartype. I-mate ROM 1.66 also has the Cleartype problem, and one of the cleartype fixes some one posted here gave me a hard reset. I-mate ROM 1.52 doesn't have the integrated applications as services advantage so there are less processes available on that ROM, which means you won't be able to run as many applications at once.
Personally, I think I'm going to stick to ROM 1.60 until some Second Edition ROMs start showing up.
Anyone got a 1.60 ROM that I can get? I found that much better than the 1.72 that I upgraded to, but I deleted it..
im on imate 1.72 never had a sd erase nor hard reset have to softreset every few days thats all works great with tomtom3 and BT gps

What is the most current OS version for my phone?

I live in Kansas City, Missouri and have the T-Mobile XDA I (or whatever it is called). I bought it with the 2002 OS on it and upgraded to the 2003 version that I found on the t-mobile website. I was curious if there was a newer, more stable version out yet that is official yet? The version I currently have on there is:
ROM version: 4.01.16 ENG
ROM date: 2/4/04
Radio version: 6.25.02
Protocol version: 324e4
Is this the newest one for my phone and if not where can I find the newest one?
THANKS A TON!!
Can someone PLEASE help me out here?
There is no newer Version of ROM available.
As much as i know, T-mobile removed this release, because they have some problems with it.
From O2 there is an version out (4.01.12) but this had never been official released on their website to download.

I cooked a ROM in your Kitchen for my XDA 1. Your Kitchen is great and I was able to customize the ROM fifor my needs.
I've got:
ROM version: 4.01.16 ENG
ROM Date: 2/4/04
Radio version: 6.18.00
This ROM is giving me all kinds of problems such as
XDA turns itself on every few minutes when the phone (radio) is on.
Sometime the SD card shows up as empty, othertimes it has the files?
Is there a more stable and functional ROM?
On my harddrive I've got the following ROMs as executables:
3.17
4.00
Official T-Mobile RUU2.07 v4.01.16
Which of these would you say is the best and can I use any of them
in your ROM Kitchen?
Don't know, which ROM Version is the best.
I'm using the 4.00.33 Version, but it's in German, so it isn't useful for you.
I never had much problems with this ROM, so it's the best for me.
Many people reports, that the best WM2003 ROM is the 4.01.12.
3.17.03 is surely one of the stablest ROMs, but it's still Pocket PC 2002 and not the new WM2003.

Stefan
Thanks for your help. I am using WM2003.
I notice in your kitchen that ROM 4.01.12 is a version from O2 in the UK.
Will this work for me in the USA? If so, do I choose the No Autoconfig option? Is there anything else I need to adjust to make it work here?
Any other ROM versions to use in the USA?
Also, I cooked my current ROM using the WM2003 final verison in your kitchen. Is the device turning on every few mintues if the phone (radio)
is on, a known problem?
Thank you.

wm2003se: My Radio version is still not changed

Hi Guys,
I am new here and I managed to upgrade to WM2003SE by Dr. Stein. Only problem is after the upgrade my radio version is still version 1.08.00, can anybody help assist me please. Thanks in advance.
ROM version: 2.06.00WWE
ROM Date: 06/14/04
Radio Version:1.08.00
Protocol version: 1337.18
ExtRom version: 1.12.925WWE
Radio
You should have the following information if you upgraded using the ROM from my thread Bro.
ROM version: 2.06.00WWE
ROM date: 06/14/04
Radio version: 1.18
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.12.925WWE
It seems that not only your Radio but you Protocol was not upgraded as well. That could mean the upgrade was not complete.
Hi Dr,
Thanks for the reply, it seems I cannot complete the upgrade it seems that very thing seems ok until it begins to upgrade the ext rom, it goes to 3% then it gives me an error, been trying but can't seem to pass that stage. Have tried the next steps as provided but still same error, I am stuck. If you pm me your hp number ,can I call you to help me out thanks a million.
Is your cradle USB connected directly to your PC or through a hub?
direct to pc.
Can you please list the steps you performed?
I shall return to this post but for now I have got to go attend to some work matters.
I just followed the steps indicated in the procedure of the upgrade. When the error comes up, I followed the steps provided, etc, disconnect the cradle, remove pda from cradle, softrest and setup the upgrade again.
If the protocol and radio doesn't get up graded, is it ok? It seems fine now only thing i notice is that the battery is draining faster than usual.

upgrading to wm6 but keeping wm5 radio version?

i just got my htc replaced because i corrupted my hermes when i upgraded the radio. i was wondering if i upgrade everything except for the radio (ie: schaps) will it still grab the signal 110% of the time?
ROM version: 2.15.502.3
radio version: 1.40.30.00
htc hermes // att wireless
Hi, this should be no problem
Hard-SPL is installed for security?

Error during messaging (SMS)

Hi,
I have the following ROM set up on my XDA Neo:
ROM version: 7.0.0.7
ROM date: 7/05/08
Radio Version: 02.47.21
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.24
ExtROM Version: Vincent ROM (ENG)
Whenever I send an SMS my SIM card kind of blocks off. The phone appears to be normal but if someone calls me..the phone rings at their end but on my phone there is no indication it is ringing (not even missed calls). Once I disable my radio and enable it again or soft reset the phone it starts working properly.
Out going phone calls work as usual. Could any one please help me out by either suggesting me a better ROM for my XDA Neo (OMAP850-195MHz) or a possible solution to this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Vinit.
Well i would suggest a newer ROM not sure what you have now and also a new radio rom update the version i run is very good check my signature for details
Hard RESET your phone.
It will solve your Problem
I think Hard reset or flash new rom will solve your problem.
hi,
I downgraded my phone to WM 5.0 and it is working perfectly now. Following is the new info about my device:
ROM: 2.20.7.34 WWE
ROM Date 7/10/06
Radio Version: 02.47.21
Protocol Version 4.1.13.24
ExtROM Version 2.20.7.114
My question is whether it is a problem with the SIM card which is not compatible with Windows Mobile 6.0 or other higher versions? Should I stick to WM 5.0 only or try and upgrade to a newer ROM.
Thank you,
Vinit.

Nop. I thinks this problem cause the rom you used. Try another wm6.1 or wm6.5 roms.
tried everything now..i m back to the old wm 5 (and not liking it at all)..the voice is not at all clear in Wm 5...WM 6 is much better but only if my connection problems can be resolved
