Htc X-button - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo Upgrading

please help me i need the program HTC X-Button v1.51 build 29977 .
thank
jorge

It's your lucky day. I'm not sure about the Build number, but the version is matched.
Edit: Build 29977

One thing I noticed is that it runs on my Athena well but it doesn't stay on top all the time. Anyone know of how to make it stay on top so I can access the app list from any screen?

I installed this version and it came out to be better than the previous one. Under Setting - Button just tick "Enable the X......", "End program by tapping and holding X", and "Enable Quick Menu......".

Thought I did that but I'll try this version and see how it goes. Thanks for your feedback.

Cayotte
please elaborate as to which one to be checked...
For me ver 1.5 works better than 1.51 as the whole screen seems to hang as it wont go to the today screen. I tried doing both way, first tried with all checked, next tried checking only the 'enable the x button to close' first option.
I removed and installed the ver 1.50. Its all cool now. My OS is black majik.

please help me i need the program HTC X-Button v1.50

I tried the previous v1.51 and it was terrible compared to the v1.5 which I found more stable.
I'll give this version a try, since I suspect that even the v1.5 I have is causing WM6 to hang.
Hope this one will do.

It seems to be stable, however it would take a couple of days to see if the device will hang.

X-Button issues ..
Odd .. and maybe someone wants to double-check my findings. Both version 1.5 and 1.51 cause erratic behaviour of my two devices:
Treo 750 - Green send button stops responding. Deinstall solves the problem
X7500 - GPS reception almost down to zero. Deinstall restores GPS reception
For now I am back to version 1.0 ...

Hmm, so far I have been able to reproduce the send key issue on the Treo which doesn't fail to show up every time I install X-Button 1.5x. The GPS reception is back to square 1 though ... poor reception altogether.

I installed x button 1.5 on my Ameo running wm6 and am having problems with my bluetooth which i never had before. I have tried to uninstall it but cant, can anyone give me any advice please.

Installed on my Advantage running WM6 kept crashing the shell (at least what the error said) then would reset kept in a loop was finally able to keep it up long enough to uninstall no more issues.
If you are running WM6 use caution.

Install the new build 30229 will solve your shell crashing problem.

Installed V1.51 (build 30229) on WM6 (ROM 2.20.405.1) (CE OS 5.2.1238, Build 17745.0.2.3) - no problems with Bluetooth (sync and handsfree profiles) or GPS.

Marka2k, can you tell me how you managed to uninstall it from your device please.

Note that there are a few "issues", mostly cosmetic. The worst is the phone, which is mostly unusable. But VijayBigPhone helps: http://vijay555.com/?Releases:VJBigPhone -- you do have to rerun it each time and sometimes in between. But it does work. Do a search on this site for MvRTrueVGA to learn more.

I'd suggest using with caution. I tried on my Athena, and whenever it powers up the device freezes at the today screen. I can't access the start menu or anything .. looks like I'm going to have to do a hard reset

Can you sync before it freezes ?
Probably you can uninstall the software via ActiveSync.
btw: are you talking about MvRTrueVga or VJBigPhone?

Note that I have had no difficulties with either, running a number of startup programs (PocketBreeze, WisBar, iLauncher) and a wide variety of applications.
I was using MvRTrueVga, hadn't tried bigphone.
it didn't let me sync either, so all I could seem to do was a hard reset .. wasn't happy lol
I use MVRTrueVGA 1.3 on my HTC Advantage running WM% for a while and it works mainly just right. Still, can anyone help me to also overcome some minor cosmetic challenges:
- Backlight Settings dialog
- Power Settings dialog
- Comm Manager dialog
- some of the indicators in the TOP bar about GSM, 3G and so on seem wrong
Is there a fix I can use?
Ah, and while I ask, anyone who have tried this on WM6 yet?
Works on WM6 aswell, same "cosmetic" problems,
but additionally, the volume slider doesn't work anymore (works again when truevga is turned off)
btw: some games don't work when its turned on:
worms world party,
age of empires ....
they start normally, but when I tap on the screen, nothing happens
Yeah, and I forgot that also the telephone dialer looks untidy as well.
So no fix for this at all? For a device coming with a 5 inch screen there much be a demand for this more than before...
Are there other (working) solutions than MvRTrueVGA?

Did you install SdkCerts before installing MvRtTrueVGA?
no, I never heard of this file.
what does it do? (I know its a bunch of certificates, but can it fix my problems?)
can I install it afterwards, or do I have to remove MvRTrueVGA first?
thx in advance

Thanks for this great tip!
After installing SdkCerts and a soft reset, my volume slider works again!

Why do no WM6 ROMs remember "Sounds & Notifications"?

This is a problem that plagues every WM6 ROM so far. For instance, receiving new emails *always* defaults to 'flash LED for 5 minutes' after a soft reset.
Even modifying the registry works for a while, but something changes it back again.
Could someone please figure this out?

I did a quick test on my Prophet.
No matter how I change the setting in Sounds and Notifications, it will still "remember" the modified value on my machine after soft-reset.
No problem on my device.
same here no sounds problem
The same with me! no sound problems
floepie,
Do not use stylus for softreset.
Try to do softreset with any programms for reboot. psShutXp do it correct.

I always reset holding the power button and never with the stylus hole.
If I set 'receive new email' to a sound, the setting will stick for some time even after a reset, but after a day or 2 or even 3, the setting will always return to 'flash light for 5 minutes'. Try it with the 'receive email notification' yourself!

The same problem here using wm 6.1. Reminder and Text Message notification settings get lost after a while. Any idea?
Using some programs (eg, the latest Opera 9.5 betas) may disable notifications.

Only Operas betas (as in, the ones direct from Opera.com/mobile) disable sound, and it may be only on some devices.
You should be able to use the Opera builds extracted from Diamond/Raphael ROMs with no issues.

I think the latest build of the beta may have fixed it...
I worked it out as when I installed Opera it broke the sounds, and then, looking at Operas site I noticed there were some bug reports involving sound issues...
Uninstall, and then reset the sounds/notifications to how you want, and it should work.

Keyboard issues since 3.1.6?? Anyone else?

It seems since 3.1.6 my keyboard has been acting up.
`Registering double-presses,
`not registering function or shift on about half of the keypresses [seems the timer to hit fcn > key is lower]
I reverted back to 3.1.5 and the problem vanished.
I've been having the same problems with 3.1.6 and 3.2 and couldn't for the life of me figure it out. Wasn't sure if it was a conflict with something I'm running or not like MagiKBLite, but even after deactivating that have the same problems...
i found this as well, i thought it was due to getting pizza grease and other junk in the keyboard and making the buttons stick. its so bad its to the point that i had to start using spb fullscreen keyboard. i am glad to see that the problem is with the software rather than the hardware. not to worry, DCD is the fu**ing man!!! im sure he will have a fix for this in the next version
All three of you need to troubleshoot this again. I haven't seen any issue on 3.1.6 or 3.2. Do this, install the pre-made ROM, your carrier file ONLY, and then see what happens..... Do this for both 3.1.6 and 3.2.... My bets are that something you included or installed is causing the issue, OR you three have a hardware issue....
I have the same issue with 3.2.0, never used 3.1.6, but I had the issue from scatch with both ROM and Kitchen builds. The biggest one for me is that I can't get the "()" keys to work and all of my contacts info has to have them around the area code due to the CIM software I have to use for work...

Did you have the issue with your previous build?
I had issues with 3.1.6 and 3.2.0 and have been experimenting. Next thing I want to try is to find the keyboard driver in an older ROM and try plugging that into the newer one, same thing I did to get my outlook working with exchange.

My previous was 3.0.4 and I did not have this issue with that build.
this started for me before I even started to flash my phone. Has slowly gotten worse. I found a thread somewhere around here or ppcg that had a small cab file that fixed things right up.
I'd hit a key and the letter would appear 3-4 times, Fn would randomly lock and unlock.... now all better...

Yep, that did the trick for me too. I had to get that keyboard fix the other day, since my T, E, I, and Fn keys would either register double/triple hits or just work whenever they wanted to. If anyone is also having an issue with some programs only registering all keyboard key hits as symbols rather than letters, this will fix that too.

I had the same issue - I used the kitchen to build my rom - I generally do my "settings" - (screen brightness, owner info, etc) before I add ANY .cabs and noticed this issue. What was funny, however, was after a soft reset (after installing one of my programs) it went away, so I never really gave it another thought.
thaaankk youuu (arrgh) thaankyou (dammit) ......install cab file...... thank you thank you thank you!!! (fu**ing EH!!! no more on screen keyboard woo-hoo..)
Thanks for the cab. I noticed it with whatever version I had before DCD3.2.0 (I want to say 3.0.4 but I could be wrong). I was starting to wonder if it was somehow related to the radio 3.39.10.
This issue has been around for the entire life of the phone. UTStarcom actually provides the fix in their downloads section for the xv6800.
http://handsets.utstar.com/view_phone_details.aspx?mcode=XV6800&bID=89&sAct=0
mine did this, but also my o, p, and l keys wouldnt register unless phyiscally pressed very hard. then would register like 3 times.
i thought it was something physically wrong with the phone and just got a brand new replacement in the mail today.... ooops
First time I have ever seen the VZW version... Glad I am on Sprint

[APP] WifiNoStandby - stop wifi going to sleep [Update 14-MAY-2010]

First off, thanks to kmeta for the registry edit that allows wifi to stay on when the device is in standby (can be found here).
The problem with that registry change is that it resets itself at reboot so that wifi turns off in standby again. Since this was a pain to have to keep modifying, and the only other solution in the above thread meant using MortScript, I threw this little app together. It simply runs at startup and sets the value of the registry key.
If it doesn't work on your device then it probably means that the registry change is device specific, but I don't believe it is. Please let me know if it doesn't work and we can take it from there.
Edit:
Note, even though the app only runs at startup, the cab file makes the registry modification so you don't have to restart after an install.
Thank you, will try it on my HD2!
Does it close itself entirely after changing the reg on startup?

Yes, it doesn't stay running. It literally makes the registry change and then shuts down - it's all it needs to do.
Works great! Thanks a lot
FYI, 'manually' changing the wifi in standby registry key on my HD2 with BSB Tweaks or HD2Tweak doesn't work for me. Even when doing it every time after a soft reset, wifi just won't stay connected after some time in standby mode. With this little app it simply works.
I wonder what it does different?

That might be the cause, because BSB Tweaks only makes the registry changes when you soft reset which does nothing in this case, because the key is gone again after a soft reset.
Anyway, thanks for that nice CAB. I have yet to try it, but I am already saying thanks in advance and will post my results after I had the chance to test them tomorrow at university.

It should be fine, since it's running WM 6.5. Maybe it's something to do with the custom ROM you're using. Does it have any power saving features? Do you have any 3rd party power saving software that could shut down Wifi? Maybe HDTweak, as I believe that has an option to do the same as this program.

OK,
So anytime I close an application and return to Home screen Touchflo must restar?
I think that this is wrong, and touchflo sould start only when I restart my phone.
If every Htc touch 2 is the same than it's allright, I am going to live with it but I don't think so.

I think that this is wrong, and touchflo sould start only when I restart my phone.
If every Htc touch 2 is the same than it's allright, I am going to live with it but I don't think so.
Anyway,
thks for the quick responde.

Sorry, I missunderstood you, it is abnormal for touchflo to restart everytime you return to homescreen.
Consequently I believe it's time for hard-reset, if not solved it can be some corrupted (original) ROMconfused or hardware problem?!
I did a hard-reset but I've got the same message everytime.
I am going to call the service center tomorow.
Thk's again,

Good luck!

Try mmtaskmanager2.2(if necessary) ...
or it happens mostly when you install a new theme with some files missing or not supported by Manila 2d v2 or you have replaced/deleted some theme files in/from windows folder.
Thanks and Regards

Hi,
Yesterday I did a Hard reset and then I was opening each software one by one to see wich one will bring that message back again.
Finally found it !!!
It is the Quick GPS software , once I acces this software the massage is back for ever.
Now I am not downloading anything on Quick GPS and after the second hard reset done the phon is PERFECT.
rakesh_4utoo can you please help me with a Remote Desktop that's work on WM 6.5 rom 1.28.70.2.(66092)?
Anything I found on google is not working or it's freez.
Thank's in advance,
