I had this problem before. A soft reset of the device and/or system typically resolves the problem.

yes it is in WM6 but for some reason HTC/Dopod like removing it from the ROM's.... not sure why...

Right...it's an official part of the WM6 release, but optional apparently.
Could be that Dopod didn't want people to think of the U1000 as a PDA which needs to connect to an RD, but as a fully functional device by itself=
you never know with marketing/PR.
Any hint for using a /console command ? If you connect to a server you open a new terminal session, but not see the console. with xp you can start mstsc.exe /console

Can't type "s"
I'm able to connect to a Windows Workstation but cannot connect to W2k Server - I can see the logon dialog box but I cannot type a letter "s" which unfortunately appears in the password .
Does anyone how to fix it?

only sun_dream can make it work on Niki, as far as I knew.

Try to execute usbswitch.exe on your niki. My Computer recognized it after switchung to usb serial mode.

thanks for sharing - unfortunately i'm on sun_dream rom now, will try it on other rom anyone please report whether it is working and what is your current rom?
I have tried everything to get these drivers to work, tried installing them on windows vista, windows 7, using compatibility mode, using a virtual machine to install it on windows xp, downloaded three different types of versions of windows xp and I still can not get these drivers to install on anything.
I've searched the forums; I've lurked all throughout google and youtube. I can not find the solution. Will somebody out there please for the love of god help me. This is the 4th day I've tried to continue the process of flashing my phone to boost and I haven't even gotten past this very first step.

How would that even work out ? The phone won't even register on the device manager without the drivers or having a microsd card which is just for accessing my micro sd data.

Try another download of the driver....It will ONLY work with Windows XP, I ran virtual pc on my Win 7 computer, load driver in virtual pc session and be sure you can access your usb port in virtual Pc. When I get home, If you need it I'll upload the driver I used.

Never mind I figured it out, it was the drivers. Got another copy. I'm now working with QXDM but having trouble with it, the command bar is greyed out and I'm not sure why.

preferences or settings tab....if not try establishing the port with qpst or cdma ws and go from there
someone please hook me up with a good copy of these drivers, I'm on windows xp and they will NOT install, I've only found 1 active link with these drivers, the rest of the links i'm finding went down with megaupload

A couple of posts up, he states that the drivers only work with windows xp. Try installing a virtual machine.

actually the drivers will work with xp 32 bit as well as windows 7 32 bit but not with vista......just make sure to install the drivers for the incognito before you plug in the phone as its easier that way....

Ive got a Samsung exhibit 2 4g and I want to root it. Except when I connect usb, it always says cannot install driver. I've gone to device manager and it has two listings saying "SAMSUNG Android USB Composite Device" with exclamation marks next to it. Ive factory reset the phone and I have usb debugging on to. It also wont list for adb devices. Ive burnt about 6 hours for this and nothing.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I tried that... and probably every possible thing. I guess me and adb+Windows 7 64 bit dont go together . I still like the phone and I think I'll try this on Windows XP hopefully it will work. I'll keep you posted.

Just wanted to know if there are an tips someone had or if there is possibly a way to root the phone without a computer.
And if I bring it to the Sprint store, will they help me any.
Im just lost. I think I have tried everything and it was working before.

You cannot root without a computer.
Your problem is probably a driver issue. Please read the quides carefully as they contain everthing you need to do it.

The USB cable is known to be good? Also, remove HTC sync but leave the drivers.

What version of windows are you using? im using 8 enterprise and could not get fastboot/adb drivers to install for my evo
Usb debugging is enabled in developer options?
(Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh!

Cable is fine, being an Android user, I have like 30 cables. And Imma uninstall sync.

So you can't get anything to work from your computer including USB storage and fastboot commands? Sounds like a hardware problem with the USB port on the phone or the cable to me.
Does it charge properly? You could still have data issues even if it charges. Some cables only support charging and are not wired for data.

When you connect your phone to the PC, can you choose file transfer mode, on the phone? If you can, what happens when you choose "Trasnfer files (MTP)" ?

Yes i can. Thats the problem Nothing happend. I try this on 2 PCs and still the same. I restore difficulty settings on phone and then on second pc was OK it connect on Mtp mode but on my pc it still dont working. I think that my pc miss something but i dont know what :/ For any help i will be gratefull ^^

Did you check device manager (control panel) for the drivers? Maybe you need to install them manually. And if you are using Windows 10 "N" version, then you need to install media feature pack for windows 10, because without it, windows 10 won't recognize devices in MTP mode, here is the link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48231 . I had that problem when i installed Windows 10 N on a new laptop. Also, maybe, you will need to disable signature driver enforcement to insall the drivers. You can find all the information regarding the drivers on the internet. I'm leaving now, i won't be here until tommorow, so i can't help you more at this moment.

Well, it told you the actually the same. "Check the drivers in device manager". Anyway, you are welcome. Good that you found a way to fix you problem.

I'm in the same situation. I checked my driver, it's well installed (MTP). I'm running on win 8.1.
Redmi is showing but there is nothing inside, no folder. My PC tells me "Device may be locked or not ready, check if the mobile is unlocked".
I only unlocked Dev privileges and USB unlock.
What am I missing?
