IMEI is unique, shouldn't be unmatched.
Upgrade or Downgrade ROM or anything (say, radio version) shoud not affect IMEI.
Make sure U understand this first. Do not trust someone who telling u upgrading ROM will change the IMEI.
U could search on google to see which one is correct.
I have no idea why some people always saying that their IMEI is not matched. How do they do ?
Disassembly old device and reassembly on a different device ? or ?

I use HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a whitout reson onli for test end now i heve a new imei

The IMEI which is displayed when you use *#06# may have changed but only the last digit, flashing a new radio changes the last digit since it is the version number...this is NOT part of your IMEI.
Flashing the unlocker or any other part of the hermes does NOT change the IMEI so I suggest you double check it against the sticker on the box your Hermes came in. IF it is different then it was always different before you tried any flashing techniques on it.

Possible IMEI problem with G4 prophet

Hello, I have a prophet and I have a problem, the phone cannot find the network, is continuosly searching the network, but is able to make an emergency call.
When I type *#06# in the phone shows me the IMEI number with two aditional zeros in the end,
ej XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX00
this is normal?
Thanks and sorry my bad english.
try Hard Reset or re-flash your rom..if it still has that problem..try iWizard, change your IMEI (Changing IMEI might be illegal on your country and use it at your own risk)
The 2 00's are normal

Using jafwm you can.
g4 prophet needs to be CID unlocked ( done with jafwm for €25) then just use jafwm restore.
You need a jafwm dongle to do. Cost is circa €50 for a dongle.
p.m raskal for more info.

You have found the qtek somewhere? The IMEI could be blacklisted, because you didn't gave back the device to the owner.

welll try to downgrade your Radio ROM to 2.19.21 ...It helped so many people ! including me. and 00 at the end of the IMEI is normal.
there are few things to know:
- in some countries phones which were purchased outside the country will not work. telco keeps track of all phones sold in the country (with imei numbers of course) and can easily block them;
- telco potentially can block the phone based on imei or hardware id;
- there are some issues with pdocwrite for G4. not all areas are writing correctly;

Help lost my 3G

I have installed the radio to 1.41.00.10 but my 3G or U signal has gone and i cant make 3g calls, help what do i do? My phone is a HTC TyTn

Can you explain what you did do to upgrade? Did you upgrade your rom as well?
I have quite the same. Please check your IMEI number, compare number sticker underneath the battery with *#06#. In my case they are not the same so I can't connect with the data access anymore. I upgraded to radio 1.41.00.10 and upgraded ROM as well.

I have the same problem. I have downgraded the radio rom to 1.40.30.00 but the problem remains. The IMEI number is right. I don't know what I can do...
Hi,
I have some questions regarding the IMEI #. My first question is where is the IMEI # stored and why would upgrading a radio rom change it, I would assume that even if a radio rom was extracted from a rom upgrade package it would not contain IMEI information because it is meant to be put on many devices that have different IMEI numbers? My second question is what do the last two digits of the IMEI stand for? I notice that typing the code above shows me the same number as the sticker under the battery, but this number is two digits longer then the number on the box and device info. hardware screen.
Thanks

It doesn't. IMEI will be always the same. check it on device information. If you check it by *#06# the IMEI is only the first 15 digit.

That's right.
You would clone the IMEI only if you read the whole Qualcomm chip and write it back on another qualcomm (this would require take the chip out of the mainboard, and solder it again...). When you flash radio you only flash around 14Mb, the flash on qualcomm is around 32Mb. The IMEI is never flashed.

So has anyone solved this problem? My 3g stopped workig after upgrading to radio 1.5. It has signal but cannot answer or make calls. It works in gsm tough. Before I had radio 1.46 and everything worked perfectly. I tried to flash many radio roms but none of them worked...
Any help?
Thanks.

Solved it.
Well, i've read the wiki but i wanted to believe that changing my radio back to the one that worked would do. In fact it doesn't. My SIM card is very old but has always worked in my hermes (TyTn). I inserted a more recent SIM and my 3g was back, inserted mine again and nothing, so the problem was obviously my SIM card...
But as a computer science engeneer I would like to know why changing the radio back wouldn't do the trick... does anyone know?
Thanks!

same imei on unlock version of x01ht

Hi all.
Just asking for your expertise on this which I totally don't understand.
My friends bought 2 X01ht unlocked versions recently. They have been unlocked and loaded with olipro bootloader which chinese rom and radio on it. But when we check the imei thru settings-> device information, they have the same imei. I think imei is something written on the rom and can't be changed, even if we patch new radio rom, right?
Unless something uses other tools to change the imei manually, right?
there are tools that can rewrite the IMEI on a phone ROM flashing or radio flashing will not do it. I believe those tools are hard to get ahold of though but changing the IMEI is possable and i have sen it done before.
check if the devices have been opened (no warranty sticker), probably the person who has unlocked them has copied the flash from one qualcomm to another, this requires taking out the qualcomm chip to flash it and then solder it back to the device.

The shop told me that the flashing changed the IEMI no. other than opening the case.
Flashing using the normal RUU won't change your IMEI number, it can change the last 2 digits (Software Verison) of the IMEISV (17 digit instead of 15).
maybe hardware problem bc check the imei thru settings-> device information >15 digits

Softbank X01HT - IMEI problem

i have buy a new Softbank X01HT recently. When i press *#06# , X01HT output the IMEI it is not equal to the phone body's sticker. What is the shop comment? They say that it is because of the upgrade to Hard-SPL 2.10 and unlock the phone. The 2.10 version will change the phone's original IEMI. Is it true ? Anybody can tell me the truth ?
The IMEI is NOT changed by flashing HardSPL or a new Radio or even WM6.
What other things have you flashed onto the device?
EDIT:: Also where did you buy the device from??
I had already flashed the radio rom to 1.41.00.10 ..
When i get my X01HT buy from shop, the IMEI no. and the sticker's IMEI no. is not equal ..
Well the shop has sold you a dodgy device, most likely returned by somebody else.
If there is a way to prove it to them that HardSPL doesnt change the IMEI then I would use that.
Is the IMEI totally different?
yup, when i press *#06# my Hermes is return

then the motherboard has been replaced into a separate case.
In fact, it's not replaced. Because my friend has 2 machines with the same imei as listed above. I guess they clone the rom, or IMEI change it.

IMEI is aggregated in both cases from the radio; if this is true, HTC screwed up on a batch of phones when programming them.
Don't believe its HTC
I don't think this is HTC fault it should be a changed board or IMEI. Although it is illegal to change it everybody knows it is not impossible (I don't know if its possible to change the imei of hermes but for wizard it was.)
is not HTC; there's a company in asia selling unlocked X01HT with same IMEI because they unlock them by flashing the qualcomm directly (take chip out, use programmer to flash it, and put chip again).
you guys know wow?this is stange for me also.i think the radio upgrades changes the imei number.not exactly the whole number, but it adds two digits at the end of the number my hermes has 17 digit imei on the back and it gives 19 digit imei when i check it with the code(*#06#).i cant exactly say how many times i upgraded the radio rom but I THINK the two digit that adds up, represnt the count that you have upgraded the radio.
any suggestions?
disruptorx is right....when looking at *#06#, its the same but it has an extra 04 at the end. i dunno what the 04 is and why its there.
i know for a fact that my cingular 8525 hasnt been tampered with. the void sticker is still there.
The IMEI number is the first 16 digits of the code displayed when you type *#06#
The number does indeed change when you upgrade the radio, the 15th and 16th digits are supposedly to represent the software version on the device (according to wikipedia). But the rest is possibly something that the radio does, unknown to me

pof is right ! I'm Chinese hermes user. You know there is no hermes sell in China except HK and Taiwan. My hermes is X01HT, unlocked first time boot without extrom install. There're lots of people using X01ht but installed extrom when it first bootup and htcboot has beed updated to htc182, Thencan not sim-lock after. so they send to some company which can take some chip out and flash it to htcboot 107, they call it Hard-Unlock.but I don't know which chip they take out and flash, DOC flashchip or qualcomm ?
IMEISV
I recently found out that this 17 digit IMEI is called IMEISV SV stands for Software Virsion!
I have the same experience to buy X01HT in HK. They gave me a new phone and I checked the IMEI doesn't match with the phone's label. They said it is normal because of the recent cracking. They brought me another X01HT and the IMEI is same as the first one. They said the whole batch of phone they are selling recently has the same IMEI#.
I bought the phone anyway and can update HardSPL v7 and radio rom to 1.43 w/o any problem.
My X01HT was freez and no response.I repaired back to my hand, changed IMEI report.
My X01HT
My recent bought X01HT didn't have the same IEMI no. as well.

The IMEI changed after update ROM!

What is the reason?
my htc touch pro IMEI changed after update ROM(official ROM"like as: RUU_Raphael_HTC_ITA_5.05.408.1_R2_Radio_Signed_Raphael_52.58.25.30_1.11.25.01_Ship.exe")
and then my IMEI changed 17 bits--REMOVED--
when i install any software, the system to prompt the follow information:
"the program is from an unknown publisher.you should install it only if you trust its publisher.do you want to continue?"
I think this is just occasional,so i update ROM again and again.
but the IMEI is "--REMOVED--" all the same!
You probably don't want to post you imei online (maybe that's a fake #; if that's the case, you should say so).
Your IMEI didnt change =/
Maybe for some reason the soft way to see your IMEI is corrupted, but look under your battery, that IMEI is still the same, and that's what matters because if you warranty your phone for some reason IMEI is how they track it. IMEI is basically a serial number for the provider.
^ not true. It is possible to change your IMEI number with certain software. When a call is made the IMEI # is recorded in the provider's billing software. With Rogers for example, this is the case, albeit few reps know how to find this and fewer still care what your IMEI is or isn't.
Not saying whether the OP's IMEI did/didn't change, but the sticker under the battery only shows the IMEI when the phone shipped.
Just like a sticker on the back of a computer may say "windows xp" while its OS is actually "vista"
When you upgrade to a new version (Core) it will add one number to your IMEI only in form. It is still electronically recognized as the same IMEI, so don't worry. what you will find is that the number is the same, but has now an additional digit or 2 in it. This is just like a revision number & will not affect your services at all. This happened when we old Tilt users went from 6.0 to 6.1 & will likely happen again going 6.1 to 6.5 official.
Do you get your IMIE by dialing *#06# ?
yes mate
Imei changed
Hi,
i work for a mobile provider an I changed yesterday my ROM and today I got an Security check on my work and my IMEI changed also, and that was a little problem. Because they have to check my IMEI number, to look that I have the right mobile with me. The problem is, that Security had only the last 4 numbers, but I found out the new added two digit numbers
Cheers
Hmmm...That's what I said above. It is the ROM/Revision number & it gets added to the IMEI. For anything truly querying the IMEI, it is fine. But it seems your setup is querrying the Registry version of the IMEI.
Anytime you upgrade roms, Usually OEM roms, this happens. It started with the first touch & the Kaiser.

If you ran a ROM that had been XIP'd for any reason (such as to make some software that looks to see the OS version to run), this will modify how windows see's the IMEI, however the radio will read it for what it actually is.
This is interesting... when I warranty return my phones to ATT, they ask me to do the *#06# and have me read off the IMEI... Could they tell if I've changed roms via the numbers I read off?
Could it possibly be a secret way to bust us all?

No, no suits, black helicopters and vans unless you start cloning, there are your previous IMEI's on ATT system, they want to validate the problem handset as you have the ability to remove your sim and call them from a working handset, your account is bound to the sim, then there is always the accounts with multiple active sims, they just need the right one for the RMA.
