No, only the latest WM6 supports 4gb

That is correct WM6 is needed for cards above 2gb.
Not every version of WM6 though - but all recent cooked ones.
Check the relevant ROM's info before you flash to be sure.
Is black satin microSDHC compatible? When you people say above 2 GB, you mean microSDHC right?
I have, and use, a 4gb SanDisk Micro SDHC memory card in my Tytn, and I have found it works in all the WM6 carrier roms and most of the later cooked WM6 roms. They will not work in WM5 roms, I hope that answers your questions.

heres a question where do you guys purchase your 4gb cards i ahve not found one retailer in the states thats a legit online store to purchase from. Please explain. Thanks i have been on the hunt for a 4 gb card for the longest and have not found a solution.

I tried This CAB on my friend's Treo 700WX which has WM 5 and after a soft reset, it worked. Give it a try a find out for yourself.

that's where i got mine. i was skeptical at first but i was wrong. item works as advertised and i have had no problems as of late. hope this helps.

I looked for the last 2 days for something that would help my mogul to recognize the full 6 gigs in my new card.
Finally i found this forum that has a cab file on it and all you do is put it in the mogul execute it and viola!

Worked for me. Also any ROM past the 2.09 Sprint seems to have this feature built in.
I have a bran new mogul and it didnt come in mine ? I had to install the cab file.

That's not really much help since the only ROM past 2.09 (2.16) was found to be totally buggy a week later and pulled.
So while it seems future ROMs from Sprint will indeed enable >4GB SDHC support, for now one has to use of the drivers/cabs that have been lifted from other HTC devices.

me to. i love athena. this is my 2nd one. i have x7500 with broken screen that i took apart to play with and i use it to charge battery and i bought another athena but x7501 being in us i cant use the video call anyways so no p. i love this device and i am gonna get the x7510 when it comes out. i bought the shift but i want the voice compatibility but no go. with your power i might be able to do this one day.... but i had almost all the pda phones that has been out in pas couple years ( uni - blue angel - xda atom - wizard - iphone - nokia e90- imate ultimate 8502 - nokia n95 8gb - hermes - tytn ii - shift - athena - apache - mogul - touch - tre0 650 - treo 700p - and 750 i cant remember the other ones ) and i can tell you athena is the best pda phone ever. except one that i like but doesnt work anywhere except japan.

yes a hero rom will still work on the stock 1gb card, I have personally flashed many roms on that card alone

I got mine in july for 23 and some change from amazon. Now that including express shiping. Its not bad. I still have some lag but not as much as before with the stock card.
A computer store I have been going to for a couple years now, Directron, has the same Transcend 8Gb Class6 for $17.99. I just got 2 as the store is around the corner.

Most of the phones are equipped with SD cards/slots but as Microsoft dictates: non-user-accesible. If you replace the card the phone will be hard-reset (as all user data, etc. is stored on the card u just removed).
U won't be able to do so without disassembling the phone though.

99.9% it would, yes. Looking at my Mozart, it's not entirely obvious how you could disassemble it if you wanted to!
I wouldn't recomend it to be honest, although I agree it totally sucks that none of the HTC devices include slots.

I upgraded my Mozart today to a 16GB card I had lying around. Not too complicated but involves a fair bit of dismantling and going through a void sticker.

I know the HD7 seems to have shipped with legacy card, so a Class 6 should be fine and in fact increase performance.
Considering AT&T is promoting the Focus for its more accessible SD slot, serials are not necessary and updates will be uninterrupted.
Your warranty does go down the drain though.
Good News, there is a way to upgrade the HTC 7 Mozart and I have done it successfully .
I have attached an image of the zune screen showing the updated memory to 14.73GB

I also did the same thing to my phone the other night and found that the original micro SD card was a class 4, so what I want to know is... What class of micro SD card did you use? I changed over my SD card the other night with a class 2 16GB and found that it showed up in the boot-loader as 'unknown' type SD card and that after the hard reset, when the phone was setting up and installing apps, it was taking 4 x longer then what it was when I had the original 8GB micro SD class 4 card in it.
Let me know if this has been the same for you or anyone else that has tried this. I have ordered a class 4 16GB SD card to try soon.

As you will see I just used an old class 2 16GB card that I had lying around, I think it is a Duracell brand !!. There were no problems with booting at all, just went straight to a message saying that the menu tiles were corrupt and asking for a reset. No noticable speed difference, but I will be getting a class 4 32Gb as soon as I can find one for a decent price.

Hi Pipolas
For 3 of the black screws you will need to use a torx screwdriver, they are sometimes sold as "security" screwdrivers . The size you need is T6 x50. There is also 2 phillips screws which I just used a very small star pointed screwdriver for.

I dont know yet about a class 6 32Gb replacement, but I am going to order one and try myself, as I beleive it will be fine. I will let you know once I get it delivered.
BYW, in terms of speed comparison, I have non-scientifically compared my 16GB class2 with my wife's standard 8GB Class 4 and the results look almost identical, in fact in some tests loading into IE etc the Class 2 phone was quicker. I need to run some games though to test properly, as they run mainly from the SD card and any real speed variance will be most apparent then.

eh Andy i have a little problem :
how did you manage to put the power cord into the plug that is on the metal part? because I was handling, but the only thing that stuck is the mini usb port on this phone that is attached to the hull, I can not recharge the battery.
I suppose it is inserted incorrectly because at one point I tried to connect to PC USB port for a few seconds and he got "recognized" detected "then it went away.
