Sound Feedback from input - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo ROM Development

This is kind-of a strange question but I've been searching and can't find an answer. I've been trying to find a program that will give sound feedback to whenever the screen is touched. All I am looking for is some kind of clicking noise. It would sound on any touching of the screen. As it is now WM6 gives some sound feedback but not on all buttons. I was just wondering if anybody has come across this yet. Thanks.

Not sure if the Athena is the same (probably should be pretty similar), but on my Hermes, if you go to Start | Settings | Sounds & Notifications and tic kthe box for "Screen Taps", it blips every time you touch the screen.
Mark.

EDIT: Double post.....sorry.....

Subdisplay is fickle !!!

Hello all: I really like the subdisplay feature of the HTC 7501, but it seems to be pretty fickle !!! I mean, it activates when I put the keyboard cover over (but only sometimes), and even when it activates, it will go away with the slightest motion of the keyboard.
Is this happening to all of you? I have searched in this forum, and there appear to be a few registry tweaks that modify the settings of the subdisplay, but do not solve the problem.
All I am trying to get the subdisplay to appear (and stay) as long as the keyboard cover is on. That way, I can see an incoming call's phone number and be able to answer it without removing the cover.
This shouldn't be too hard, should it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
ditto
happens to me too. bloody irritating (until i ditched the hardware keyboard)
Someone posted a Youtube video about this stuff. It was mentioned in a previous post in xda-developers but here is the link to the video:

I have the same problem, I have asked in other threads for a way to toggle this manually, can a developer help us out PLEASE?
Also I found the commands in the registry that turn it on or off, but it relies on the magnetic switch, and there isn't a registry setting to toggle the setting to another feature such as a button....
The sub display turns on depending on the location of the keyboard. It's kind of a trial and error thing to find the exact location for the keyboard. For my unit, I have to nudge the keyboard a tiny bit to the right hand side (with the sub on the bottom & facing me) for the sub display to activate. I wish they would have designed it so that the presence of a keyboard is enough to activate the sub display...
I tried to find how activate the subdisplay via software, without success.
Then I decided to remove the bottom bar (I used vijay utility) and I installed resco today plugin in the bottom part of the screen. Turning on the display I see the status with keyboard closed.
Sometime I see the subdisplay menu so I move the kyboard to see the resco status
is there any way to jsut turn off the sub display?
Just turn off the unit, or place the keyboard like you usually would and you will see contacts/calendar
Mine rarely works, cant belive they missed this in QA.
It is really anoying, wonder if the X7501 suffers from this as well.

...Moreover I found the subdisplay really usefull. It shows even the picture of the contact, using ATHENA with BT headset is great!
Many features, bur also no way to have it working with PIEFRAMA case (the one with transparent window to see the subdisplay). Infacts, because of the cover, the magnets are weaker and the alignment is even more critcal!
I think we will pay to have a button activated subdisplay
Just to have an idea of the functions it has (call status, battery, network, data connection, sound):
1) close the keyboard, activate it, and slide the volume slider
2) receive a call from a contact with picture
3) receive an sms or mms or e-mail (3 different way of displaying)
4) Is working in any VGA resolution
The best solution could be to use a button to activate/disactivate it when the keyboard is closed

Indeed, mine is a 7501, so this appears to be an ATHENA device issue, and not limited to the 7500.
Too bad, such a great idea and so poorly implemented!
its a magnetic switch in the top of the unit the magnet on the keyboard must latch the swith for it to activate..
I have NO issues with mines always works...
if you run the right side of the KB along the right side on the unit you will see the subdisplay activates

x7501 here, and same problem. This is one of the top 5 problems with the Athena. At this point I just pretend this 'feature' doesnt exist; I rely on my Jabra to tell me who is calling.

Sound problem in iGO 8.3 (WinCE 4.2)

Hi there,
Firstly I'm new to this forum and it's great to be here.
Recently I've unlocked a Novogo device - T700. It has iGO6 in it and I replaced it with iGO8.
There was a problem that the software was muted (there was not sound at all), but I fixed it by enabling screen-taps sound in the Sound settings in WinCE CP.
But now the problem is that it makes sound only after I tap on the screen, for example it starts navigating through the route, and when it shows me to turn right (for example) it does not say it, only if I tap on the screen (doesn't matter what point of the screen). Let's say I'm approaching a square, it doesn't say anything, but when I click on something on the screen then it says "square in front of you", even if I've already passed that square. That's really annoying.
Thanks in advance
hmm, bump...

Screen goes blank in phone call

Hi All
Apologies if this has already been answered, I have done a forum and Google search on this and can't seem to find an answer.
When I make a call or receive a call, the phone screen immediately goes blank. I don't mind if it only did it when I put it next to my ear but this happens as soon as you dial or answer a phone call.
If I try to press the home button during a call, it doesn't do anything. The only button that makes something happen is the hang-up/standby button but of course this cuts the call off!
Any ideas? I am running Duttys Creme De La Creme V4 WWE with a radio of 2.10.50.26. I don't remember this happening on the HTC rom - could this be a ROM issue?
Thanks
Anyone have any ideas?
Anyone have an answer on this as I have the same issue. It is really frustrating. You can get the screen back by pressing the power on button (which at least doesn't cut the person off) but it does seem to be the worst timing for a screen to go blank. I am using energyrom 21903 manillla 2.5 sense on a HD Blackstone

Did you solve you problem, guys?
I am asking because now I have this thing
What do I do? I noticed that it was solved for Touch Diamond: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...3798&page=3
Does anybody know how to do it for HD2?
Does anybody care
Dear All,
I had / have same problem. It means the proximity sensor is dead.
What I found:
When during the call light on the light sensor, for examole with a torch, the screen coming back...
Thats all what you can do, or must have changing the motherboard.
Sorry for the bad news...
had the same issue, cleaned dirt between screen an sensor and now is ok

[Q] xperia niggles

Hi, I got my phone this morning and no doubt its a very good phone, but...
Is anyone else having trouble with the speech recognition. When I speak into it the mic graphic seems to indicate it's getting good pickup, but then the waveform it displays after is very flat and the recognition accuracy is very poor indeed.
Also I'm finding the capacitive buttons very unresponsive.
Any hints or tips?
I don't use speech recognition so can't help you there but I agree the capacitive buttons are a pain. I find a firmer press or a slight slide upwards works best. You do get more used to them the longer you use the phone but for me they are the biggest niggles on an otherwise fantastic device.
Remove the screen protector that came with the phone from the capacitive keys.
They should get way responsiver after that.
I was wondering as well if removing screen potector would increase capacitive buttons responsiveness. Anybody tested it already, or is changing screen protector in near future?
I use the voice recognition all the time. Do you have a weird accent?
For the buttons:
Have you tried just swiping them from the transparent bar up?
After I started doing that I had no issues, and they respond just fine. If you want to just do the touch method, aim for between the screen and the silver dots, but I find the swiping method easier and it's a no-fail way
The voice recognition:
Only used it a few times, and only on my X10, haven't tested it on the S yet.
I have 2 problems also with the xperia s, the battery life and the unresponsive capacitive buttons. Its really a hassle always thinking if it would register after hitting with your thumbs. Is there really a solution to this? Would the ICS upgrade be of help when it comes out?

No I used to use voice on both my samsung and my htc all the time with no problems.
Actually, this is the first phone that allows me to use speech recognition to call my wife, all other phones failed to do it, so I rated the mic as very good but didn'tell it to the wife...
I don't have any of the niggles with voice recognition or the capacitive button sensitivity (to me they are the same sensitivity as the one's on the galaxy s2 which I got used to). The problems I've experienced so far are -
- Video focus problems
- Audio playback clipping when using google navigation.
Hopefully these are bugs that will be ironed out soon via firmware.

Sensitive touch screen

Often while using the tablet, my touches and swipes are a little wild. I'm trying to click an icon but the screen registers a swipe. Is there a way to dial down the sensitivity? Anyone else noticed this?
NOOOOOOO do not tune down the sensitivity, we will get unresponsive/erratic crap that the N7.2 suffers from, its perfect where it is!
I hear you, from personal experience. But, what I'm talking about is not so pleasant either. Candidly, I'm hearing good things about the latest update so I'm optimistic that it will cure my ails vis a vis 'clicks' being registered as 'swipes'.
I have noticed the exact same thing. I think I found a way to fix taps being registered as swipes but I have yet to find a way to keep short swipes from being very erratic, long swipes. To fix the former, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch & hold delay. The default is Short, I changed it to Medium. I also went to Settings > About tablet > Send feedback about this device and let them know about the screen sensitivity issue. I suggest you do the same. They need to hear from people that this is a problem so they get it resolved.
