Ok Guys, gonna test all you senior moderators / users here and put you to challenge to see if you can help me get my wizard G4 back up and running.
For the past couple of days Ive been faffng about the forums looking for a way to change my g4 WM5 to WM6, after digging in i realised i had to install vmware and put xp on it, so far so good.
After that ive tried every rom (with all their own prepackaged files) and got nowhere, every time i managed to get one that would even get to a percentage bar screen it would go to 100%, restart and nothing changed. I even tried the all new soft spl way but got some error msg saying a .exe was missing.
tonight, i managed to get a ´302´ error and its now stuck on the bootloader screen, my question is:
how can i ´flash´back to normal state from here , doesnt the pda have to be synced in order to flash it again
I hang my head in shame, i managed to mess it up real this time..

seems like ur on G4 CID LOCKED and u try to flash with RUU "NO WAY BRO "
flash ur official rom 1st using RUU while on bootloader then flash any G4 safe rom using :

with soft spl:
when i ran START-sSPL.exe it opens up in cmd and the progress at the bottom doesnt go anywhere but 0.
and shell tools managed to get al the way untill you press OK, when decides to crach..every time.
again, i thought in order to flash these devices to have to have an active sync. but you cant sync things when its showing the red-green-blue bootloader screen...or am i missing something.
more tips are VERY welcome, thanks lads.

shelltool doesn`t crash it hangs only just wait for 30-40 min and unplug ur device and hard reset it will work
aslo on the bottom of bootloader screen u will find USB that means that its connected and it can sync

u can`t flash with shelltool on bootloader mode but u can flash ur official rom using RUU on bootloader
ok here is what u need to do
1- flash ur official rom or "wizard love rom " using RUU in bootloader mode "RUU works under XP only "
2-after flashing ur stock rom flash and u got up and running OS flash using shelltool "works fine under vista "

i downloaded the wizard_love rom, it got to 99% then i got the same 302 error message, theres asmallrecovery process you can go though if this is the case. i followed that and the power went off...hopefully its just the battery...

I just went through the same situation with my phone:
Cingular 8125 G4
IPL: 2.25.0001
SPL: 2.25.0001
GSM: 2.25.11
After a failed unlock attempt/flash, I flashed back using the WizardLove rom to get it functioning, then I used the SoftSPL flash to then allow me to upgrade to Octaivoi 5.0 rom.
Octaivoi's 5.0 *running 12+ hours flawless*

hey guys thanks for all the help so far.
recently ive been stuck trying to flash the wizard love rom onto my G4, but today i finally cracked it. For some random reason, the phone didnt like the original wizard love rom described in vippies tutorial ( which i looked at , at the very start, a kick ass tutorial bth), i even went out and bought a new usb cable just incase it on the off chance it was that, nope. I kept getting 2 different error messages do to with the connection. 630 i believe was one of them (which is just a general connection error msg).
but today, after searching for a while i found a customised wizard love rom on a bittorrent site that worked like a charm. so im alln gear´d up with a working pda again ! woohoo
So im back to phase one....phasetwo...get wm6 on it or probably break it again for another 3 weeks in the process.

Nah, i took your adivce and tried to flash that octavia rom onto it...
back to the good old red green and blue screen except this time it doesnt display RUU at the top right hand side anymore...im pretty sure thats a bad thing?

lots of tinkering over the last few days has proven successful.
ive went from having a non working 9100, and trying hard to find a base rom that would flash properly to:
Finding a wizard_love rom and installing it
managing to use soft spl (which god knows why decided to work after the gizillionth time) and flashing a very respectable wm6 rom to it ( Octaivo, thanks for the tip johngalt82)
And..AND!! even getting the HTC_Touch_ Home_Plugin displaying wonderfully
happy as a pig in ****.

I was flashing my brothers phone for him, and I was using the CID Workaround, and it completed, and then after a hard reset the device wouldnt go past the first splash screen.. pllease help
If your able to get into bootloader mode then you should be able to flash another rom such as wizard love or your providers rom.
If you read the thread on unlocking G4 cid locked using shell tool you will see what i mean. I personally was stuck in a very similar situation and received help, so the info you need might be in that thread.

i used the shell tool, but i just got stuck on the first splash after i did that.... here are device specs
Its a Cingular 8125, obivously g4
IPL 2.25.0001
SPL 2.25.0001
It doesnt get past bootloader, and I would really like to put WM6 on it.
At this point, I've tried various other ROMs and nothing is working. Any thoughts or ideas at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just follow this steps u will be out of it.
Press and hold the camera button and reset the phone, hold the camera button until you see the tri color screen (bootloader), when u are on tri color screen connect the USB with your phone(dont see for active sync it wont recognise but it will be connected), and then flash your phone with the rom your provider has given you i.e, the original rom and DONT flash it with shell tool use the exe file of the rom.
When you are at the original rom then try to flash the WM6 with shell tool and follow the instruction properly.

I cannot do that because the Carrier ROMs that I have aren't for G4, so they arent working. I have three different carrier ROMs for my phone.. and none of them work.

Check your email, I downloaded and zip works fine here.
i'm facing this problem right now , i will solve it with the original rom .
the problem started when i used shelltool to upgrade my G4 CID Locked to windows mobile 6 crossbow underground edition .
i will give it another try when i get my device alive again ,
any suggestions for the WM6 underground to make it work using shelltool on my wiza 200 ??

Finally i solved the problem and installed Crossbow WM6 underground edition .
all i did is to install the original rom from provider and then used shelltool to install WM6 .
i want to mention that my wiza200 is G4 and its CID Locked .

I've searching for love rom few hours at night, then finally found, it is using the same flashing frontend (but in italian? language), flashed ok, phone's running. I've tried some few other wm6 roms, but always errors like "too old, get new one" or once it was probably fake, because it loaded exactly the same ROM as love one is. So, now I've probably stuck on WM5 at all

whats your device and is it G3 or G4 ?
try to do as i did and it worked for me , install the provider flash , then try shelltool to flash WM6 underground .

Mine is G4, dunno if cid is locked or not. I've flashed it as I said with wizard love rom and working without problems. I've tried that again this morning, to flash from love rom, but the same. At 96% it hangs, error 302 Communication error, then starts recovery process, phone goes to bootloader mode. Then is possible to flash it with love rom again with no problem

i have a g4 wizard using the shell tool i have chaged my rom on my phone sometimes 3 times a week just to test them out

And anyway, dunno exactly which rom for WM6 I can put in (I've just 5.underground_edition_Crossbow_ROM.exe which stucks at 96% with 302 error)

No, not really, rapi and that second cab was in device, it was restarted, but I did a mistake - i didn't copied that desired rom into updater directory - that was why were all fields N/A... did that, flashed on first try, without problem
I had the same problem, orginal rom from the provider, and I can reflash it again.....

I'v been up for 24 hours. I have searched, read eveything, DL every tool, rom I could find and I am tired and upset. I have followed every post to the line.
I have a G4. I used the shelltool and flashed the TNT_5.0_Wizard_Professional to it. It booted once and worked great but has never booted since. It gets to the HTC screen. and shows the IPL 2.28.0001 and the SPL 2.28.0001 the GSM 02.25.11 and the OS 6.0.0.0
At this point I don't know what to do to unbrick my phone. I tried to go into bootloader and reflash the ROM but it always gives me a no communication error. Any advice or any one having this problem and had any luck fixing this would be super helpful.

You don't have a brick
Load the wizard into bootmode (start and keep voicecommand button pressed until you see a three colored screen)
Then kill active sync (wcescomm.exe in taskmanager).
Connect your device
Load the original rom and flash.
After that you can reflash almost any rom to your G4 with Soft SPL.
Its faster than shelltool
Or you can CID unlock it using hard SPL, and run the Ruu from the ROM itself.
Before using Soft SPL or Hard SPL read the threads first.

Two things:
1- 'No communication' can come from low voltage battery. Be sure to have it more than 60% before changing ROMs
2-The TNT 5.0 is a cooked ROM and is smaller than the Official ROMs.
TNT5.0 - 0x3800000
Official - 0x3900000
Which means that ShellTools can hang because of the size difference.
You don't have a brick

It's not a brick yet.
Have you tried Mestrini's tip, regarding fully charging the device?
You can also try to use another usb port and better yet, another computer, even if the initial flashing was from the computer you are using now.

i have been from that state already..
just use the wizard_love ROM..
yea, they are right.. you have to be in that 3 color screen..
then kill the active sync or uncheck usb connection in connections settings.
then flash the wizard love ROM..
after that, u cud flash any WM6 again..

First of all, its not bricked. Bricked = doesn't turn on, nothing, blank screen.
I've looked to your info, you already have HardSPL, so you can flash directly using any RUU, don't use shelltools!
Enter bootloader (hold camera+reset), open up the RUU of the ROM you want (make sure it doesn't have any IPL/SPL) and flash away
well I looked all day what to do and I can not find solution

Ok i have try everything. I have tried the RUU from the HTC site and even everything else when it is searching for the PDA and crashes idk why. I turn on my phone holding the camera and i get to the Red,Green,Blue,White...Plug the USB in and the phone says USB but not my computer??? so i don't know what i need to do please HELP i just got the phone and read you can do all this stuff

You guys wanna see bricked? I have a BRICKED! phone... My MDA was the unfortunate victim of a car accident. When my car went carreening off the road, my MDA went flying through the air and ended up on the floor of the car but not before hitting virtually every surface on the inside of the car.
Now my charge port is completely snapped off and my battery shorted out when I was trying to hold the charge port in place to charge it and fried the main board. DEAD. NO MORE.
THAT MY FRIENDS, IS BRICKED....

Well i got mine up and running agian just used XP and install the RUU from HTC YES.......Now when i go to install WM6 when i press update were it should show me the Ver. of the one i am installing on my phone it does not say why please help and what do i need to install WM6 on my phone?

first of all,as dferreira has assured u that ur device is not bricked,secondly ,you already have HardSPL,that means your device is unlocked,just follow his instructions,download any wm6 Rom and flash,it'll good to go,but if u still want to be sure,download WST Tool from the below given thread read carefully and apply the tool to verify the status of ur device,

Soft SPL only allows you ONE update, so phone is CID unlocked only when Soft SPL is loaded.
It's normal for the RUU to stick on 99 % for a couple of minutes, The whole update will take aprox 10 minutes.
You can try the hard SPL from there you are semi-permanently CID unlocked.

Can anyone please post a guide on how to flash Hard-SPL onto my HTC TYTN.
The guide for installing Hard-SPL onto the HERMES is not available anymore, and i am EXTREMELY confused about what im doing, and i am afraid i will brick my phone if i do something wrong.

It really isn't hard to do. But be sure you know what you are doing btw. SO read the sticky!
Basically you just download the flavor of Hard SPL you want (I used 2.10 which I can recommend, very easy to downgrade to factory SPL again as I just learned!).
After download unzip the folder and run the RUUWrapper. Follow instructions exactly, do nout unplug your device etc. and it should work like a charm. It takes about 1 minute!
If you don't know what you are doing or you are still doubting, wait for Mr Vanx site to come online again or don't flash. There is always a risk you screw up and end with a $500 brick.
So use at your own risk!

start the device in bootloader, what is displayed?
Mine is doing the exact same thing. Starts at 0% and jumps to 100% and says it is done, but it has done nothing.

the SPL flash is VERY quick.
I'll ask YOU this aswell, put your device into bootloader mode and tell us what it says.

I appreciate your reply Mr. Vanx. Same as with puca, I put my phone into the bootloader mode and it does indeed show the correct 2.10 Olipro version. This is the 3rd 8525 I have had and I could have SWORN it took much longer on the first 2. Even the update from WM5 to WM6 seemed to take much less time with this particular phone. Guess I shouldn't really complain
Downgrade Error 260
Hi Mr Vanx I have followed your guide to downgrade my current SSPL (2.10 Olipro) to SSPL (1.11). But I keep getting error 260. I have followed guide step by step.
I have even tried flashing from SD-Card (by renaming to HERMING.nbh). Process runs successfully, but nothing happens.
Its still showing SSPL-2.10 Olipro in bootloader. Am I missing anything?

I do not see the radio version or the IMEI. So I would like to do a HARDSPLv7 followed by Radio ROM update to 1.06.00.10. I hope this will work. Seniors may help with their sggestion.

I have an I-mate 9502 but my problem is for pocket pc generaly.
I installed a program for sound, When I do a soft reset it hangs on Blue Imate page and didn't boot.
I tried to hard reset but it dosen't worked too(I know hard reset of it, is Green+FN+Power button) but it don't work, Also I tried to install a fresh Rom but it need to loud windows.
Please help how to hard reset it.

I have an I-mate 9502 but my problem is for pocket pc generaly.
I installed a program for sound, When I do a soft reset it hangs on Blue Imate page and didn't boot.
I tried to hard reset but it dosen't worked too(I know hard reset of it, is Green+FN+Power button) but it don't work, Also I tried to install a fresh Rom but it need to loud windows.
Please help how to hard reset it.

After Flashed with the new ROM, My Device is now stuck in iMate Blue Screen Logo....!!!
But Don't worry Guys...it can be solved with manually hard Reset...
1. Remove battery and reinsert (to make sure the phone is off).
2. Hold down Fn and the Green button (with the phone icon on it) and press the power button.
3. You will see the white hard reset option screen almost immediately. Press the Left Soft Key to hard reset.

But I know hard reset of my phone, I did it many time before, unfortunately it dosen't work this time. I tried all I knew about hard reset. but I couldn't do anything for my phone.
I tried (FN+Green+power like last time I did hard reset easy)(FN+Green+reset button)It don't sho any reaction.

Hey, my phone is an At&t 8525 and after finally fixing the white screen problem and flashing hard-spl v7 and a couple of roms I bricked the phone when flashing the last touch flo rom. During the flash the ruu wrapper stopped and indicated there was an error. I did the recovery and it supposedly completed succesfully if I can remember right. When it reboot it would not get past boot loader. And thats where I am now, the phone will not get past boot loader.
I've tried every method on these forum I could found
SD card flashing dosent work, I get the 002..... error in red.
Flashing the factory an at&t rom dosent work either, gets the same error

As for as I know the MTTY method dosent work, I don't know how to type in commands into bootloader and when I type in 14 0 in MTTY nothing happens

The phone does not boot into bootloader when I hit the power button, I have to hold the comm button, power button, and soft reset in order to bring up bootloader.
When bootloader is up and the phone is connected to the computer via usb bootloader displays usb on the screen and windows detects the device as an HTC device.
Again i've spent about a week and a half trying to fix this phone and I don't know what to do anymore, i've tried more methods than listed above I can't remember though. If anyone can give me a hint on what to do I would highly appreciate it. Thanks
P.S Can someone please tell me how you type commands in bootloader or MTTY
You DON'T have Hard SPL V7 installed..... Otherwise your SPL would be 2.10.
Connect the Hermes to the pc, make sure active sync has benn disabled - got to settings, untick connect by USB. It should register on the pc. Go to bootloader then run the .nbh file for your stock rom... Make sure its the carrier rom that it was shipped with. It doesn't have to be WM05 but it DOES have to be your ORIGINAL carrier rom. Let it run through, you may gewt lucky.....
If it works, INSTALL HARD SPL V7....... Makes it so much easier to fix then...

I tried downloading and sd card flashing a stock rom from a list of factory roms of all Hermes that I found here on xda. It gave me the same error though. I'm not exactly sure which exact rom to download from that list either. Any more help would be appreciated, thx
Wow I feel retarded, I used the wrong factory rom. After I used the right one it worked perfectly, I now have my 8525 back! Thx so much man, ur the friggin man!

Glad you fixed it mate, but if I were you I'd also make sure you have Hard SPL V7 installed. It is the safety net to help when things go wrong... Never gonna be 100% safe but better odds with Hard SPL V7...

Been a while guys, figured I would break out the 8525... charge it up and see what kind of things are new in this community. Unfortunately, it looks as if the radio is bricked on it. Seems like it will install ROM's that the radio is not included on. NO GSM is on the boot display, which is strange as I was using this phone until I got the Tilt about 1 1/2-2 yrs ago. I was a hardcore flasher back then... every other day it seemed, so I know it has (or had) everything it needed like the Oli 2.10 SPL... but it seems like I cannot recover this radio issue.
I am messing with the different original OEM and Carrier ROMs hoping I can get passed the 11-12% mark, and I will let you know if something changes. Any idea if un-installing SPL 2.10 Oli, and then trying to walk back through the old SPL steps could help? I am just trying to figure out another way to get around this radio issue... or basically I have a PDA, no phone Damn phone hasn't been touched in like 2 years, you think it would be just as fine as it was when I took the SIM out.
