Hey guys just a request of what ive been missing for lately i used S2P (there's a 1.4 version on devs website) all the time and kind of missing the widget for changing music.
So maybe anyone interested in making a simple widget to control S2P from homescreen?

Cause i dont use the HTC Music Player. Im going through the add on kitchen now ill see maybe i can cook something up. But i doubt it
Maybe I'll give it a try sometimes.. but no promises and I'm sure it won't be soon.
There is work on the nitrogen player, but it is in alpha state.

Yes Mike, there is.
If I or anyone else has the time, I think there will soon come S2P and others that can work with CHT.
It is very possible to do.
In fact the Nitrogen cab, kind of lays a framework for such things.
Though it needs a little reworking based on some changes made to Co0kie's Add-on Framework changes, since that add-on was first made.

I have been trying carefully S2P (v1.4) and Nitrogen (latest stable version). Both designs are very good, but I think that S2P is higher in response to sound (not much difference with Nitrogen, but I appreciate it, especially with good headphones). In addition, S2P better controls battery power to Nitrogen. Nitrogen is more convenient to use by selecting the music, but if you get used to S2P ... is perfect.
Another advantage of S2P with respect to Nitrogen, is that the project seems to be alive (although new versions have to buy into Microsoft's Marketplace), while Nitrogen seems to have been dead by now...
S2P would be nice to have a plugin for the Today screen.
What do you think about this?.

Think its great main feature of S2P i love is that it starts music once i plug headphones in. Handy
So let me make it clear u have a widget made?
Would also love to see a CHT music player widget for S2P. I like S2U2, but CHT new lock screen is extremely versatile, so I'd like the option, and really want to be able to control S2P from the CHT lock screen.
I was able to do a work around with S2P and CHT. I used the mortscript files from CS2P for songnext, songpre, and songplay and make shortcuts to them and then put them on a page as free links. Can't do album art, but if someone wants to look at the mortscript files, I can upload them. The album art works with titanium so I think a dev could certainly learn from the mort files to make a widget. I'm just agronomist not dev so this is where I stop. Let me know if you need the files and I'll upload them.

Just downloaded and installed the WVGA version and it seems to work pretty well, and looks reasonably nice (10.4mb cab file). I'm running it on top of feroponts WM 6.5.5 with SPB Shell 3.5.5 rom.
EDIT: Really liking this theme. Requires some of the tab's setting up (like the camera tab etc), but once done that it's great Can't see a WP7 screen lock option yet however, but will look for it.
Note: This should really be in the 'themes and apps' section though, as it's not a ROM.
I found sense music player on this forum. I installed it and it plays mp3. Unfortunately there are problems with screen resolution and interface requires amendments. Can someone port it for sense fans? Homescreen widget doesn't work too.

Has anyone gotten anything like visualizations working on this phone yet for the music player?
I know there are two music visualization live wallpapers included on the phone, but I was really looking for something you can just either choose from the stock music player, or a music player I can replace the stock one with that has them included.
Really can't wait for something like this to come out/be created. Would be cool in my car if I could have visuals on the screen when the music plays instead of just a screen with a player on it. lol
hi all , just wanted to hear some opinions from you people about the best music app/ mod out there..i tried stock , ICS , and MIUI mods they are great but a little flawed
-ICS looks great and smooth but lacks features ...and the widget lacks a back button and don't have album art =(
-MIUI looks great and has quite some features like shake to shuffle and album finder but it's very lagging and lyric function don't work , it still great thou bbut lags too badly
-stock is stable and has a cool gesture function but it also lacks a back button on the widget and don't have much to offer ..so whats player have the best combination of functions , design and smoothness in your opinion? do note that all thewse players are great! but for some reason i have this urge to find something better! so do enlighten me!

Recommend you to use PlayerPro,its a very beatiful player with theme support and all the features in other players,like shufle,playlists,auto download album and artisit pictures,lyrics,shake control,video player and other things i dont remember.Of course its a paid app,bur google is your friend!

there are a lotta players,each has its own features and lacks some too,i tried a lot too,but finally sticked to walkman mod
thanks for the suggestions ..can't find ubermusic apk files and player pto says i parser error =( so i tried a walkman black themed mod and it's pretty good...gotta try it for a few days!
The only beautiful thing of UberMusic is the way how it searches for pictures of artists and put them as background while playing music. But no searching engine, no filtering music and no lockscreen controls are not enough for me. I asked for my refund.
The best for me until now is PowerAMP. It has a lot of options for an almost perfect playing. It's a pay app but worth it.
And the default music player of Android 4 is good too, but kinda slow running in X8, so for now I don't use it.
U can try PowerAmp from market..
It's good and the widget is cool too..
Also, TTPOD is great too, with tons of skins u can dl from the app..
But im using ICS music app bow

You know? I decided to give a "second chance" to UberMusic, after I read to learn how to use it.
I've testing it for three days. It runs faster than PowerAMP, wich started to give some errors btw, like getting stuck when I launched it or not searching right for music. I don't know why this happens.
UberMusic runs faster than PowerAMP in my X8 with GingerDX v021. I doesn't have a search option, but I like the letter menu. I think it's more practic to search for music by alphabet than typing the name of the songs, specially when you have to do it with only one hand in portrait mode.
PowerAMP still has more options, but those bugs bother me. Hope those errors are fixed in the next update. But for now I'll use UberMusic as my default player and I recommend it.
I use PlayerPro simple and very nice...
I'd say check Real Player. It can play both music and videos.
Sleek interface and it also has a neat function that allows you to control the player even when the screen is locked.
walkman player is suitable for me.. i like to keep it simple...
Cube Player.
I just like its LITEness. Lacks of some features other players already have. But for me it worth it.

i use stock player of gingercruzt rom and also recommend PowerAmp last version
I still belive that w8 music player is the best but on custom rom i use ics music
U should make a poll and include some players and u'll see then the most used one
For me, TuneWiki, I learn Lyrics very easy
TuneWiki is great since it shows the lyrics. I wish Google would improve the stock player.
CloudSkipper is the best try it. you wont regret.
