I dont think it is at all possible to flash your Prophet from the/a SD card.
You must flash your Prophet, from your computer using the USB cable...if you are trying to tell us that your computer doesnt have a HS USB port (ie only a USB 1.1 port as opposed to a USB 2.0 port), that should be fine...albeit it might be a little slower.
I hope this helps answer your question/request

You need a CID Unlocked Device or right set CID Codes in the Rom File.

my device is cid unlocked actually with a old cooked rom in wm5
but my problem it's the mini-usb port in the prophet who don't work for sync :/
tested with a lot of computer...
only recharging the battery it's possible.

anyone?
thanks

XDA II ROM Upgrade Process

Hi,
Can anyone direct me to any docs or links to the process of performing a ROM upgrade for the XDA II?
Can this be done on the USB cradle or cable?
Is there an absolute need for a serial cable?
Thanks for any assistance that you could offer.
Best regards,
D.A.N 8)
The unofficial TMobile 1.60 rom that is floating around here is an executable: You just run it from your pc with the XDA connected through ActiveSync.
If you want to backup your old rom you need a serial killer.......I mean cable.....
Do I need a serial cable to Back Up the XDAII ROM?
It says so on the above post...
So I can back-up the ROM (and install a new one) either by SD Card or by serial cable, not by USB?

Fu*ked my athena plz help!

Hey guys today i downloaded the latest shipped rom from htc for advantage not knowing that the spl was 1.10! and mine was 3.50 so now i'm stocked in bootloader screen now knowing what to do and cant flash any rom! i tried some cmds with mtty but not working. tried removing battery but not working and still stocked in bootloader... i know that this can be fixed but dk how. plz help guys and gals.
before upgrading i was usin Sogarth's base rom and now i get spl 3.50 olinex on the screen.
the ruu cannot connect through usb with bootloader... stocked! anxious
you may want to try this
check that spl3.5 is still in your device (it says in bootloader)
If 3.5 is there
disconnect your device
switch off computer
reset device ( it probably boot stray into bootloader)
switch on your computer
connect the device
install appropriate room for your SPL
that worked for my
( I believe that enable rapi is there to allow for usb comms, but when you connect the device bootloadeR will change from serial to USB
As long as spl 3.5 is in the device OK you should be able to recover
p.s. if room install comply follow recovery procedure, (remove battery)
good luck

the only prob was that pc couldnet connect through usb with bootloader tnx PBL1 and tnx cmon... i solved it! i was shocked cause i thought i mixed up the device! tnx anyway

Startrek BT DUN Connection...

Hi everybody...
I have a question..
How can i connect my Startrek with my Motorola w385 Jefferson. This is to use my unlimited data plan that i have with motorola (Iusacell, Mexico).
This procedure can i do with a Pocket PC (Like my old XDA Flame) But with a Smartphone is to much difficult. I can´t find how.
Any comments or suggest?
Maybe changing the ROM. But i have other issue.. My USB connection are dead. The port are dead and i can not change the ROM.. Maybe flashing with microSD ?...
Thanks to everyone...

Thanks Man.. But i did not explain very well..
The thing that are dead is not my USB's Ports (In my laptop or PC), in fact it is my USB 12-Pin Connector (In my cellphone), at this moment i have a external battery charger for keep using this amazing device and i can not send to repair this because is too much money (It's more cheaper buy another phone)...
So, it is the reason that i asked after if with the MicroSD maybe change the ROM. Any suggest again?. I appreciate that.
Thanks.

What ROM are you using now? There are some official ROMs that have Bluetooth DUN that could be flashed from µSD. The original Cingular 3125, for example. I can't say whether it would connect properly to your device, though.
You have checked that your phone doesn't already have it, correct? In the 3125, it was located in the Accessories folder and called "Wireless Modem".
Startrek BT DUN.. and Flashing Micro SD card.

3. can i flash a new radio without a usb cable?

Here's a good place to start: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_StrTrk
AFAIK, no free 3rd party SIM unlock solution for the StarTrek unless your seller is willing to contact the telco to get the SIM Unlock code. My seller was kind enough to help me out so I got mine unlocked for free, but at the expense of the seller.
It's not using a standard mini-USB cable. It's proprietary, including the headset as well. If you already have the StarTrek with you, you should be able to tell from the connector on the phone.
i dont have it in my hands yet. it is still in the mail. maybe when i get it i will call up att and see if they want to give me the unlock code. can i flash a radio via the micro sd card?
I just got mine!!!!
I got a Cingular 3125 from eBay new in the box...It had the oldest ROM that they shipped with...I've got it unlocked (thanks to great docs!!!) & flashed with the very great NEoRose 6.1 (very nice!!!)....Looking forward to using this one for quite a while!!

Okay mate - there you go:
1.
Take this guide for CID unlocking your device which is necessary for using custom made ROM's - note that you'll have to do an 'ApplicationUnlock' first (first link over there). AND note that at step (9) you'll have to use/enter your Unique-ID, not the one that's posted there.. else you'll get an error saying sth. like checksum failed or so..
SIM Unlock cannot be done that easy - you should check this topic - especially the last post - maybe this will help you. Unfortunately i don't have any experience on that.
2.
Flashing a new radio is pretty easy - you'll need to AppUnlock and CIDUnlock your phone first.
Next thing is to choose a ROM - i highly recommend WM6.1 Build 5.2.21040 AKU 1.6.0 by Erofich. Flashing this ROM you only have to execute the *.exe file (after App- & CIDUnlock) - mind reading the installation instructions at the first post
3.
Don't know about that - but i guess that's not possible - i wouldn't try it as bluetooth will be disconected during the flashing process.. and flashing unofficial ROM's via SDcard is impossible.
4.
Yes it's micro USB!
Hope this helps a little.
If there are any questions left, feel free to ask
Mister-Maledives your my new best bud. can i flash an official rom via sd card?
also your wrong it is not a standard micro usb plug unless the cable that goes to my lg incite and lg chocolate is a non standard one.
the problem with my startrek is that it has poor reception so i am thinking that flashing a new radio will fix that.
thanks again for all of your help.
I'm pleased to help.
Flashing a standard ROM via SD should not be such a problem. Here you'll find a topic about it.
All official ROM's can be found in Erofich's topic right here.
I never tried flashing (an official ROM) via SDCard. Why don't you want to use USB?
And you are right. The mentioned LG's have definatelly micro usb ports. The one from Startrek seems to be thinner than the original micro usb. Sorry for that.
thanks for the help. i dont want to use usb because i dont own a usb cable. how do i check what radio version i am running? also do the official roms include radios?
Ebay offers cheap USB Data Cables - have a look here..
To check your radio version got to Start > Settings > (0) More > (5) About
But i got no idea if official ROM's include radios.. i think so but maybe asking Erofich would be the best idea.
i called att and got a free unlock code incase anybody is wondering. i am going to try to flash an official rom and hope that it includes a radio.
well i flashed an official rom and it did not have a radio.
do i have to cid unlock to flash just a radio? can i flash just a radio with sd card?

for Senior/expert only...HOW TO FLASH HARDSPL ON MY NIKI100? (I SEARCHED FOR WEEKS)

Hi, sorry for capitalized title...
I searched and tested for weeks for a solution in this helpful and very professional forum... but I still haven't found a trick for my problem:
I have a NIKI100 - 20key that ActiveSync doesn't recognize (usb port still charge in Windows environment but no data transmission seems to work).
I tried many PCs with many OS, and now I can say that THIS IS NOT A SOFTWARE PROBLEM (or not?).
So i tried SD flashing, and it works only with signed ROM, so I can't flash WM 6.5
Because of USB issue, I can't flash HardSPL.
MTTY doesn't find the NIKI on COM or USB port.
The question is:
Is there a way to flash HardSPL via SD or is there a signed ROM with WM 6.5??
THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE!!!
ROM: 2.16.831.3
Radio: 1.65.29.22
NIKI100
SPL-1.22.0000
CPLD-4

Can you tell me what happens when you connect your device with your computer, when it is already in bootloadermode.
You can turn the phone in bootloadermode to turn your device off and press then on/off button and camera button on the same time, and keep them pressed until bootloader appears.
If I'm correct you will see Serial in the white block, just let me know what you see in the white block when you connect the phone with the computer, if I'm correct Serial will change in Usb, if not just let me know.
Greetz,
Tnx for reply...
I see USB when I connect the cable, Serial when I disconnect the cable.
I'm searching for a SD-card-method for flashing HardSPL: is this a good idea or I'm just wondering ?

Ok thanks, I'll do some searching and see if we can fix it.
Regards,
Ok, if I where in your situation I should try it this way, just be aware that I can not test it because I don't have such a problem, and you can brick your device if it went wrong.
1. Copy sspl-1.16-nike.exe to your sd-card
2. Copy sspl-1.16-nike.exe from your sd-card to your device
3. Turn phone off and remove sim and sd-card
4. Turn phone on and connect device to your computer
5. Run sspl-1.16-nike.exe on your phone
6. Wait until usb appears in your device
7. Unplug and replug the usb cable
8. Now flash the HardSPL 1.22
If you can run the HardSPL you should be able to flash a wm 6.5 rom.

All right from 1. to 7. but when I run flashin it shows error code 260 (unable to connect).
Is there a way to run SPL "JUMP" and then flash HardSPL via SD card? I think it's the only way to flash HardSPL
Rataplan is the expert one on this area,
but wath is your operating system? Seven or XP?
Because i just was able to hardspl on XP, all other things I was able to do on Seven.

Did you try to run the HardSPL 1.22 from the bootloader ?
Let me explain a little bit better, did you connect your device with your computer when your device is in bootloadermode and then run the HardSPL 1.22
If this fails, you can rename your nbh-file, hardspl-1.22-nike-shipped.nbh into nikeimg.nbh, copy nikeimg.nbh into the root of your sd-card and turn your device on while pressing the on/off button and the camerabutton on the same time and follow the instructions on the screen.
Succes,

Yes, I tried all of this method...The PC can't recognize the niki in bootloader mode.
When I put HardSPL on a tested sd-card (renamed NIKEIMG.nbh), I'm stuck in white screen with "Loading...".
I found some method for flashing HardSPL via sd-card (for Kaiser: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835):
is there a SSPL Jump for Niki that run from sd (as with Kaiser sd-method)?
BTW, I think this is the right way... I'm trying and searching!
For Openview:
I tried with many PCs with XP Pro and 7. The niki usb port seems to be broken (only charges, but no data connection).
Nothing seems to work. If anyone has somethig for flash SSPL and HardSPL from SD, please post!!!
Any other ideas???
I think we tried everything but unfortunally the answer is that it isn't possible to flash the hardspl via sd, the only person you can ask is cmonex, she is the only one who can set this straight.
Here is her User cp but she is a very busy lady.
If you fix it, plse post it in this thread it can help others.
Goodluck buddy
Ok I'll try to contact mrs. cmonex. Of course, I'll post any solution (hope to find one... ).
Tnx for all!
SOLVED!
I solved the issue!! It was only a hardware problem with HTC ExtUSB port!!!
I cleared the pin and resoldered the port on motherboard. Then I flashed HardSPL via standard method and now I can flash anything form sd-card!!
Thanks to all.
Mr. Rataplan, now we can close this post!
Thanks!!
Great Marshalll, I'll ask Electroz to close this thread.
