unfortunately, my prophet has been broken by the well known ROM update SPL 3.08. The exact name of this file is: Jesterzs_Aku2.20_with_3.08IPL_and_2.20SPL_ONLY_FOR _G4_
So the current situation is:
IPL 2.09
SPL 3.08.0001
I am looking for a solution. The ideal one would be:
upgrading again with a valid SPL but greater version number (such 3.09).
The second step is to unlock the CID (No problem for that),
and finally downgrading everything to ROM 2.20 (Easy).
By now, I create a modified 2.20 SPL to 3.09. Please check attached.
But the ROM update seems to not work. Indeed at the end of the operation, the prophet shows a wonderful screen with degraded green and the following words:
IPL 2.09
SPL 3.08.0001So, I can conclude that the first step is not sucessfull.
When the ROMUpdateUtility_G4.exe check the version number, the version of the prophet seems to be empty...
Does anyone have any idea?

well, what can you do with a prophet upgraded to 3.08? nothing.
my problem would be dissambling the SPL and IPL for changing the version.
Modifying directly the binary doesn't work.

I have Qtek 9100 with IPL 1.01 and SPL 2.20.0001. When I switch on divice, it displeyed color screen and nothing more. I flash it whit many ROM's but IPL/SPL always is the same and did't work normal. How can I resolve the problem. Thanks!
Only with a JTAG device. It's a special device that can access the chips without the need for the phone to be working. But nobody knows which are the JTAG pins so no luck here.
The IPL 1.xx is meant for the G3 DOC chip Wizards and G4 all have IPL/SPL starting at 2.xx.xxxxx. Since IPL is the firt bootloader with information and addresses for SPL and since they don't match you'll never get out of that situation...

Try..
(1) put the phone in bootloader mode
(2) flash it with cingular 1.x radio (search for it)
you should get a normal device in the end

You should
1) Flash only IPL/SPL from g4 (f.e. 2.26.0001) to get your SPL/IPL the same with italian RUU 2.5.2
2) Flash ROM without IPL/SPL italian RUU 2.5.2

does anyone know whether my device is equivelent to G3 or G4?? or its completely diff technology that cannot be compared!!!
I know O2 Atom is by Quanta and it uses CPLD (Complex programmble Logic Design!! I hope i remember this right).
this can't be compared at all, totally different technology. there is a whole separate section for the atom. just go to the forum root page and look for the atom.

I have one MSPV M3100 and i upgrate this to WM6 Xda-Live 0.20.1 ROM. This rom woek perfectly but my telephone run very bad.
Y have this version:
ROM: WM6 Xda-Live 0.20.1
Radio ROM: 1.16.0.0
Bootloader: SPL 1.06
I want upgrade my Radio Rom to 1.27 version, but not it with himself. I have tried 4 times, and always the same error. ERROR 114= Upgrade error.
I have followed these instructions:
Upgrade instructions
1. Extract the contents of the compressed file you've just downloaded
2.Run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
Description for Radio 1.11 shows ver 0.70, but don't worry about it, it is really 1.11
3. The Hermes screen will turn white and show "Upgrade Radio Stack Please wait........."
4. If you get a "ERROR 120: COUNTRY ID ERROR", do not disconnect the device, run MaUpgradeUt_noID again.
5. The upgrading process will start and MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe will end up saying "ERROR 114: Upgrade Error", but the radio ROM will be flashed anyway, don't worry about that error!
6. Soft reset with stylus (Device will not be hard reset and no data will be lost)

I have the Oliman 1.10 and ipl is 1.01. Search for hard spl and you will have it all.

Before you flash the radio it is a good idea to use Hard-SPL so if the flash goes wrong the phone can be recovered.

@merodio How is it that you live in the USA, but have a CANADIAN cell provider (Fido), and also can't speak/write English (again, since you live in the USA)???
EDIT: Apparently the fido icon comes up when you select "Albania - Albanian Mobile Comms" as your provider.. Which is ALSO a non-sensical choice if you're in the USA....
You need to be superCID to run the RUU you're trying to use. Use one that uses SSPL.

Hey Meodio_99, sorry but you are a classical case of someone who is going to end up with a bricked (dead) phone. You have a disadvantage as your English does not appear to be very good but you need to both read AND understand otherwise sooner or later you will end up with a bricked phone.
I suggest you read all the WIKI sections talking about upgrading and also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286755
It might take you an hour or so but it might also prevent you from crying yourself to sleep at night because you killed your Hermes!
Hi there, i have a situation that happened to my s200/G4 when i've tryed to update:
First i've updated IPL to 2.20 and it went ok showing on the device IPL 2.20.0001. Then when i've tryed to update SPL to 2.20 also and here the problem acoured. in the end it showed ok but when it rebooted it showed IPL 2020.0001 and SPL 2.20 and nothing else...... after this the s200 always stops at the bootloader screen. I'v tryed the hard reset, soft reset, latest i'v tryed the ppc charge trick(cut wires, etc...) i can even put the s200 discovered in the pc as a usb htc device(bootloader) but when i try to update to a new rom or anything the update program (always used g4 software and confirmed that it is a g4 ppc before update) it says that it can not communicate with the device....?!?!?
well, the device is showing in the device manager as a usb ppc device.
i don't know what to do more.
since he is connecting to the pc, how can i force him to accept any firm?
really this is a complicated situation to me since i am a beginner.
If anyone can help me please do. I would apreciate it.

Try Soft SPL
Instead of hard SPL, why don't you try just Soft SPL?
Search the Soft SPL thread, copy the 3 files to your Prophet root (\) dir and execute the SPL link, answer YES to the Program Executing Firewall if it pop up.
You'll need some WM5/6 to be able to operate the Prophet in order to do this, I went from the BootLoader directly to PDAViet Step 1 Temp WM5, after it ask me to tap the sreen to begin to use the device, I follow all the steps in order to have a WM operative, then use ActiveSync to Explore and copy Soft SPL to root dir.
After this, execute Soft SPL from your pocket, a blank screen will came. Press the Camera Button (Just in case), the Execute "ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G3.exe" or G4 equivalent from your nk.nbf preferred WM6 ROM.
Some time you'll have to unlplug the PDA and plug it again so the update to WM5 PDAViet Temp to begin without the "PDA not connected error", please, be advice that Activisync will be disable during this Bootloader stage, I mean, It will not sincro nor anything, but you'll still be able to update to Step 1 WM5.
You haven't actually done HardSPL right. Not an expert so I can't help you do it, there are guides on this forum though. But your IPL wont show 2.20.0001 ... it will have something with G4 in the middle. Sorry I can't be more specific, I only fixed this on my phone last night.

have you SuperCID your phone as of yet? Sounds like it is not unlocked.
Try that, and let me know if that makes a difference.

It sounds like the radio rom is corrupted... If you can try to flash the ORIGINAL SHIPPED STOCK ROM on to your hermes... It MIGHT fix the "No GSM" error...
If this doesn't work then you won't be able to use the Hermes as a phone again but you can load other OS's on and use as a PDA....
mikendawn, Super CID WON'T work to repair the radio rom. You seem to think its the be all and end all solution... Unfortunately this isn't the case...
Loading Hard SPL V7 on is as good as Super CIDing your Hermes as all it does is allow you to put other carrier/cooked roms onto your Hermes and allow you to use them.
No, not quite that, I thought his phone wasn't SuperCID. I didn't think it was the end all solution. Just thought it sounded like his phone was CID Locked.

Hope you have a copy of your SHIPPED STOCK ROM... You need to re-flash that then update your SPL to Hard SPL V7. The Hard SPL you have is an older, less safe version.
If you don't, you may have corrupted the radio rom on your Hermes which means you can install Hard SPL V& but the radio (phone) won't work ever again. Even with the SHIPPED STOCK ROM there's no guarantees...
