Hi Guys,
I recently bought a second hand mda vario II and got the WM6 rom from Herms mobile 6 forum.
when i try to upgrade,just when it starts upgrading after 1% it says Invalid Vendor ID (Error 294).
The rom version of my vario II is;
1.21.110.3 and radio version 1.05.05.00 and protocol version 32.36.7010.04H.
any help is appreciated.

Consult THESE GUIDES.
If you use the Custom_RUU or perform CID unlock, you will not get that error.

Hello XDA II friends!
I bought Truefax 2.08 Phone Edition II for XDA II. Unfortunately it doesn't work with XDA II Rom Version 1.60.00GER - Error-message:"Vorgang wegen eines Fehlers abgebrochen; Zeitüberschreitung beim lesen vom seriellen...". . Does somebody know if there is a new Rom Version available? I tried the new update of the O2 Homepage: xda_16052ger_o2.exe but it doesn't work as well. Error-message: "Error 120: Country ID Error. The Rom image that you are trying to use is not designed to work with your PocketPc".

I tried the tuefax with ROM 1.72 it seems to be working fine.
You can download the ROM from your provider's website.

I asked my provider for a new ROM Update for german devices. They said they don't have one. There are ROM Updates for almost every languages but not for german?!? Doesn't anybody have a german ROM Update newer than the 1.60.00 GER version?

I've tried "down"grading the ROM back the lower versions of ROM only connects using Activesync 4.2. wm6 only connects using Activesync 4.5.

i have a vario ii with radio version 1.16.00.00 and sometimes some troubles in missing calls and no connection to internet.
Has anybody experiences, which version is working well ?

Hi juwenio,
i have already tested several radio versions. i recommend for the mda vario II for Austria:
if you using WM6 -> 1.50.00.00
if you using WM5 ->1.27.00.00.

yesterday i have updated to schaps wm6, and after trying radio 1.41.00.10 (that doesn´t work well) i installed your prefered 1.50.00.00. Till now absolutely no problems.

I am just wanting to know if anyone has the upgrade file for the T-mobile MDA Vario II to WM6, i have just got teh MDA Vario II and wanted to upgrade it but t-mobile dont have the link on their site anymore (UK version)

I just updated my 8525 with this file:
RUU_Hermes_TMO_UK_3.60.110.4_6275_1.50.00.00_108_Ship.exe
and now my unlocked Cingular 8525 shows it's ID as a MDA_Vario II.
It works fine.
It shows up as WM6 Pro CE OS 5.2.1620 (build 18125.0.4.2) 2007 Microsoft Corp
I downloaded this file 3 months ago from this forum somewhere.
It was referred to as the standard 8525 ROM - not cooked.
Maybe someone that has it will re-up it and post a link.

my problem is i have k-jam g4 mobile it is gave to me as present from usa now iam living in yemen and that country in arabic gulf the mobile didn't worked here it want sim lock i take it to programmer and i think he updated it by wizard_love rom but the problem now is most of times when my mobile switched on and any one call my it tell them that this number is out of coverage or switched off and i loved to update it by tnt or wm6 roms what i could do and from where i could start????
I tried to update it once by tnt rom but it stucked in bootloader mode.

1- what is the best new rom for my mobile and where i could found it ??
2- what i could do for radio rom ?
3- from where i could start ?
also my mobile is cid-locked what i could do?
