WM7 (not, just a major wm6 update) - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo ROM Development

Has anybody seen/heard anything about this?
Apparently MS are showing it off already and claim it works on existing hardware.
http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/29/microsoft-shows-next-version-of-windows-mobile-behind-closed-doo/
Id love to have this I guess the wait begins.

looks nice, but which bit of "Nope, it's not Windows Mobile 7 / Photon, " do you not understand.
This is WM6.1, not WM7!!
looking forward to it anyway. WM6 was a vast improvement in stability and function over wm5, and hopefully this will be more steps in the same direction.
If the linked story regarding the carousel UI is true, it might be the first major change to the basic today functions since pocket pc 2000! Much as i love WM and the sheer magnitude of the things i can do on it, the design does suck!

any one got more info on this...

Yeah, me...
It has been leaked out thanks to The Boy Genius from www.boygeniusreport.com
There are some (100) screenshots from a phone with WM6.1 (Motorola Q9).
URL: http://www.boygeniusreport.com/gallery/handsets/windows-mobile-61/
It's a smartphone...

Therefore, WM6.1 is only for smartphone and not for ppc. It's a WM smartphone version. (not touchscreen also)

If they release 1 ver. of it they will release all 3. Givem time..

yes wm6.1 is coming to ppc. it wont just look as good as the smartphone version. or atleast i dont think it will. we'll probably get everything except the home screen carousel.

Interesting
interesting topic. I would love to know if 6.1 will be available for ppc as well. and if so, how would it look like and is it worth the upgrade.

I've been trying ti get an Ameo for the longest. Is there any way I can get one sent from the UK. I know in the US T-Mobile doesn't even carry it. T-Mobile's phones suck over here. All the good stuff is on the other side of the world. Lol. Is there any loophole that I can slip through and get this phone for 50 american dollars?

Update on WM6.1
WM 6.1 has been released for pocket pc. I'm running it on my Axim X50V and it's extremely fast (with proper caching tweaks). It uses up less memory than 6 and they've added in a new task manager.

thats not really an update mate
we have been running 6.1 on the athena since aprl

Android on Touch Pro?

Anyone got the official android os on their Touch Pro yet? I'm getting it on the 2nd and i want to port android to it immediately once i get home from the sprint store.
(by official i mean from the source code released yesterday 10/21)
I don't think it's that easy
Let us know if it worked.
I'm just wondering if anyone has done it yet, or if anyone has started, etc. I don't pretend to have sufficient knowledge to even try, so i was looking to others for help...

2nd, search before you post, there's no reason to clutter the forum with redundant redundancy of a redundant nature.
1) the wiki has like 2 pictures of a Haret bootup of the sdk rip of android, i was wondering about the g1 version android
2) Same as the above (sdk version vs. g1 version) last time i checked.
It's not like i didn't search, if anything i misunderstood some threads

Android on Touch Pro
That would be an interesting ROM. The Dream has similar spec as Raphael, and they are within half a year of each other, so it would be quite possible to run Android on Raphael. I would like to try it, once Android gets better established and I get sick and tired of WM.
Longhorn android
has anyone tried androkkid on the longhorn rom of windows mobile 6.5? Mines mad slow
what a shame to answer users like this such a pity for you man you make me sick Black93300ZX and what are you going to say about my nickname now? Eh ?!
i would like the happenings app from android or moto cliq

I read about this on both Engadget and Gizmodo earlier today. I didn't see anything particularly exciting but I guess we'll see once more people play with it.
These days I'm usually just looking for a ROM that runs as fast as possible on my existing hardware and lets me multitask well. I wonder how well 6.5 would run on our Titans.
problem is there is very little people working with titans.... and the one person that was doing it well (dcd)... got scared away because of the moderator... :-(
I saw at least one post by DCD in that forum, so perhaps he will give it a go.

Yeah, dcd is a veteran and we still very much need him, however some of you have gleaned so much and are already running well with the baton. Your adventure into rom building is very very impressive, Skip's v1.1 speaks volumes. You give us hope, give us WM6.5 as soon as you can.

All my friends in the hermes forums have ported it and say it is very unstable....
It is a beta leak but a very early version so its not all there.... It is missing the interface I want so I am not even going to bother porting until the release next month...
Dutty even did a port of it and went back to original
UI I want is on the right:

good to see you still look in here
on the screen shots in the blue angel forum, it still says WM 6.1 Pro. any thoughts?
They say that it's not the full version of 6.5, only the working parts that are written into a 6.1 ROM.

Ok, maybe it was. but how about the scratchy tabs
why do you say it doesn't fit?
i think the purpose of the hive is for you to drag in upwards/downwards to see the rest, just like tf3d.

well the major bug as it seems is a bug with the camera
thats all i could get out of the translation and it also said that it was only for temporary use and definitely not for longterm use
Actually I believe what it says is that the issue with the camera (from previous 6.5 builds) has been addressed.. and I can verify that as I tested the camera in the short period of time I had a working 6.5 build going.. i've since broken it though LOL
nice work Da_G. i cant wait for the 6.5 roms and kitchens soon either. how have u found the new hive UI and the today screen? any other cool features thats different from 6.1?
I have tested this rom this morning ... the camera is not working, the volume control does not work, this is the new interface honeycomb (the new start) and the new home with the slider.
The rom appears protected.

[Q] Duttys or Artemis ROM? What is different about those GREAT ROM's?

Dear All,
I am using Artemis & Duttys HTC ROM's for a while and have deep respect for the GREAT ROMS they both produce.
I would almost call CEO HTC and tell him to hire them!!!! The desire it!!
Only question remains?
The ROM's are both so good that I almost can not see the differences anymore!?
Does somebody see it!?
Thankx!
Artemis & Duttys fan!!!!!!!!
Asking about differences, right?
Well only when you tried Steve's 'Elegancia Roms' ofcourse!
Nah, kidding. It's every one's personal choice and 'feeling' about his/her favotite rom.
I was totally in favor of Sergio's 'Cell Roms' when I had the TP2, never used any other after a long time of flashing others.
When I got my Leo the Sergio's didn't match enough, so I started flashing others and sticked with the Elegancia Roms. They're MY favorite now and, for my needs, perfect.
There no perfect Rom, only your favorite..
I think the answers you are gonna get will make it a lot more harder, simply because it is personal.
The Cooks are amazing in wat the are doing.
Every one has got there favorite.
And lets be real, Dutty,s or Artemis ?
The are long in the bizz of making great Roms.
And the do not stand alone
Energy, Chucky, CleanEx, G10, Elegancia, Core Cell, Lia Roms, Xannytech and Miri.
Crap, dont start flaming me for missing out a name or 1,2,3
So you see, its all in wat you want from a Rom and the looks of it
Why dont you try a few ( the one,s who fits your phone )
Then your choice will be soon a favorite choice
Have a great day
Greetz.
A meaningless discussion. I tested all of them.

Dutty human voice but a strong and clean.
Faster and willing to answer questions and Dutty.
Using both of them have fondly.
question, what is the best car?
VW, Audi, BMW, .....
I mean every car is good and bad, the different is in look, taste and your needs.
this is the same fore rom versions.
If "the best" exist, there will be no other. and if there isn't a other it's the only one.

Do we have any DEV interested in joining the force?
This would be really slick. Sounds like they're making it pretty straightforward for devs to get working once Samsung decides to allow it. Let's hope they do!

Some people have already had success running Ubuntu on the Galaxy Note. It's not an official build so it won't be as tight as the one Canonical has running on the Atrix, but it's a pretty promising start.

hmm... not quite
that one is different
that one is really running Ubuntu in Note or whatever phone you have
the new one is HYBRID
you are still running Android, but at the same time it's running Ubuntu
so when you do things in Android or Ubuntu, both sides updates immediately
and the phones automatically switches back between a Desktop or a phone as you dock / undock the phone

Does anybody have any information about the development of this for the i717? I haven't been able to dig up how this hybridization process works. if i had access to the sources that cannonical came up with for the atrix prototype I'm fairly certain it should be a direct port.
it strikes me particularly odd that cannonical would keep this technology closed source given how open ubuntu generally is.
please, anybody with info, give a shout...
I know that this thread hasn't been posted in for a while, but I'm very interested in the functionality that it represents. I'm rather curious to know why there isn't a greater amount of pursuit of this from either user demand or dev perspectives.
I'm interested in any new information anyone can provide!
Thanks!
I wonder how many people are running some version of Ubuntu right now. I've been using it for a few years now and would loooooooove to see my phone and laptop be an extension of each other!
