Go to Program File -> DopodScv, you can find the "GPSRecorder.exe" file
The program runs under Traditional Chinese character, you may try it out
surely this only works if you have a dopod touch dual?

It seems like HTC has disabled Wifi, GPS & FM Radio on Touch Dual

GPS: Why do we need it IN the dual - I much prefer the battery life dividends that my Bluenext GPS receiver brings me. 25+ hrs (quoted) continuous... if it was in the Touch surely it'd be a real battery drain?
WiFi is different though. I respect it's also a battery drain, but I wouldn't have minded that for the occasional use. There's no bluetooth wifi adaptors out there?

Perfect, finally the MicroSD version. Problem is that there is no extra space left. I now use a 2Gb card for music and TomTom maps...

Hi there Guys i know you have all stressed that there is no antenna for the GPS in the touch dual but i would just like to bring to attention one note, in the uk T-mobile happen to offer the touch dual , with a preinstalled navigation software called Copilot live7 which usess the intetrnal GPS, i have also visited the copilot website and they have confirmed compatability with HTC touch dual. so so so anyone got anything to that?

Contrary to your comments the SX56 is running way better than my expectations! i have been using various softwares on it and it runs very well
Even using it as a universal remote for my TV/DVD/Hometheater etc.
Phone ringing is finally audible
Phone and contacts list is much more interactive.
reception is bleeding good!
Onboard 32mb sux but i am using the 256mb SDcard anyways so no compains there.
Battery time is awesome
colors are dull
no cam and no blue tooth but for the price i just cant complain! $350 and its not network locked.

hhmmm i always found it kinda useless that i could use my xda1 as a remote when placing the xda1 30cm in front of the tv or stereo

It does work well for my Philips TV and DVD, which i operate from my bed, but i have the same issue with my Panasonic Theatersystem, for which i have to sit up and extend my hand
my tv is philips aswell and it only worked at a range of 30cm
about bluetooth and wifi then you cant use sdIO cards in a xda1
and no wifi or bluetooth cards i've seen can work without that

30 cm is nothing !! even my Newborn baby is 48 cms the foot of my bed is probably about 4 feet away from the TV so i am using it at atleast 5+ ft or more distance. It could be the software that you are using. The forst Universal Remote that i tried failed to work saying reinitilaising obexchange please soft reset for changes to take place. second one would work right after learning then crashed. the one from pdawin.com works fine for me. makes me extend occasionally though but works!

i do.. im using a BT-Q818.. its superb. does the job well plus its supposed to run 32 hours, and can pick up 32 satellite signals..
one good thing to think of before getting a gps receiver would be battery replacement possibilities..

Garmin GPS10 here. Fully waterproof, WAAS capable, magnetic attachment to car. Stores multiple parings. Runs around 12 hours on a charge. $80ish for OEM package (sensor only). This thing is awsome. I was getting differential fixes to within 1 meter while hiking up in N. MI last week. I was running also maptech's pocket navigator on my TyTN with the sensor duct-taped to my backpack. Laptop was in the truck with Terrain Navigator counterpart stored there. Both devices could share the sensor & also swap track data.
I'm using a GlobalSat BT-359 bluetooth gps receiver and iGuidance map software on my 8525. I've had no trouble with any of it. Got everything from Semsons Inc website as a bundle.

you dont have any troubles with your iG4? their's this stuttering issue that i have been experiencing.. what interests me is the ROM you are using.. i will prolly change to what you have as soon as i get too many porblems with the current one that i am using..
Bapski--- I'm still using iGuidance 3. My version 4 should be arriving soon. I'm anxious to see how it runs on VP3G's 3.0 ROM. Everything else I use runs very well on it. I'm still a noob at all this but if you have questions, I'll sure try to be of some help.
Hi Folks, this is a little embarassing but I cant get the fm radio to work.
I'm generally not that bad at figuring stuff out and the radio app appears to opens perfectly ok, I can turn the dial and tune to any specific frequency but there is simply no sound, or indication of a received signal
When I click on the arrows it even says "turn on the radio", which suggests its switched off, but where is the on button?
No doubt there is a really simple explaination that someone can ping back to me, many thanks
all mobile phones that have FM radio need the wired headset plugged in which acts as the antenna for the FM radio. so plug in your headset, then it will work.
Assuming that you have your headphones connected then the power button is at the top left corner of the screen.

I would be interested to know if there is a /dev/radio device or similar. The command "lsmod" might show a module loaded named Si4709_driver or there might be a file on the phone like Si4709_driver.ko .
If so, the market app "Fm TwoO" might work.
Or perhaps this phone uses a TI or Broadcom combination FM/BT/WiFi chip ?

For development I'd probably be better off getting the original S, and considering an S 2 when it's better supported with aftermarket ROMs etc.

Yesterday I was thinking about how to enable the NFC sgs2 not have this technology, so I thought that using bluetooth or wifi direct you might also enable nfc
Android is not a developer so I need someone who can create a program that "hijack"the signals that are transmitted via the nfc nfc chip to an external device via bluetooth or wifi direct, then I did this I will create a hardware device composed of the NFC chip and a receiver / transmitter bluetooth or wifi direct to hide behind the battery, you will be able to receive the signal and then sending it to the NFC chip.
Does anyone know how to help me?, I am completely new in the Android paronama.

It should be possible in the future to use NFC with an SD-Card that has NFC integrated. I think a diy is fun, but possible more expensive due to your bt solution.
are we sure nfc is not inside first sgs2 ? how to check ? Maybe it can be activated in few times.....

I really don't think its worth the effort involved. Reminds me of someone I know who spent thousands trying to make his bmw 318 into an m3. When he finished, it looked ****e, didn't work properly and could have bought an actual M3 with the money he spent. Sorry to put a downer on this.
There is no NFC in the Sgs2. Als new Sgs2 has been announced with tiny improvements and NFC os included.

You would be better with SIM based NFC tbh... You can't just randomly say "let's use wifi/bluetooth instead of NFC, as they both work on radio waves of some sort"
I still want to use the wifi / bluetooth nfc only to transfer the signal to an external hardware that transmits, via the receiver wifi / bluetooth, nfc signal to a transmitter.
the idea and the hardware is easy to do, but the software ... I do not know, but I think it's tough.

Just buy an nfc enabled phone if you want it that badly. Trust me, trying to do a DIY job will bea waste of your time and money and will all end in tears. LOL.
i'm not sure if it's asking this'd be dumb but how would i understand if i got nfc şn my phone? i bought my sgs2 yesterday but it's still grey market here in Turkey so i can't be sure if i got nfc or not..

Also, using an NFC sticker is not the same : It will enable you to use your phone as a payment or transport card, but it won't allow your phone to actually READ NFC tags and display some information, nor REWRITE NFC tags.
Anyway, I think it's a good idea but probably not worth your time and money with NFC enabled Galaxy S2 coming in a few weeks or months. Besides, even if my SGS2 doesn't have NFC, I'll probably have a new phone in 18 months or so when NFC becomes really useful.

Agreed here. Surely the most used function of NFC will be for payments until other phones catch up, and this is accomplished by a sticker anyway?
I'm all for modding and hacking, obviously, but I feel that it may just be needless in this case...

not every model have the NFC chip on them samsung did say that some already do have it and they just need a software upgrade to enable it but i know none of the UK models have a NFC chip. Samsung also said that the one with it are slightly thicker phones than the ones with out it...

Before I make the final decision I have a few more questions. My current phone is a HTC Tilt 2 which is a Windows Phone. I am assuming I will have to learn a lot to get this to work.
1) How fast does it work with 3G? I am working in Dallas which has LTE, but I live outside of New Orleans which does not have LTE.
2) Will my Motorola H17 bluetooth work with it? I am hard of hearing and depend on the Bluetooth a lot.
3) Will a GPS with voice turn by turn controls work with it? I hope to be able to use the Note instead of getting a standalone GPS for my Fifth Wheel.
4) Will the stereo Bluetooth headsets work with? I prefer these instead of the wired ones while working out.
5) Can I put my current micro SD card in the Note to access my music?

I can answer a few (my Note comes later today!)
1) Depends how your HSDPA and HSPA+ coverage are, check the ATT map in that area.
2) It should, I've had that bluetooth work on other Android devices.
3) Yes, google maps is turn-by-turn on any android phone.
4) Probably, don't see why not
5) Yes, any microSD should work

Wow, going from WM6.5 with a resistive 800x480 screen to the Note is going to be mind-boggling for you (I had the Sprint variant of that phone about 4 phones ago).
1. Crazy fast compared to T2/TP2 because the processor is light years ahead
2. Yes, there's no reason why it shouldn't
3. Should work - out of the box you have Google Navigator and there's also the AT&T navigator which costs $10/month.
4. same as #2...should be no problem. Bluetooth is pretty well developed at this point for the basic stuff like headsets and headphones.
5. It's no problem...Android will find music on your SD card.
As a former die-hard (and still on the fence) qwerty smartphone user, I recommend heading to the Android market and getting a keyboard with arrow keys. The one I use is Smart Keyboard Pro (there's a free trial). I've never liked on-screen keyboards, I make a lot of mistakes, and being able to arrow key around is helpful. That said, if any phone has the screen real estate to make an on-screen keyboard palatable, it's the Note.
point number 5 is a yes for most bluetooth headsets you just need to make sure they have a2dp functionality

2-4 Just take your bluetooh with you to the store, you can pair them there and see if they work for sure. then you can delete the bluetooth devices.

3. I will guess yes, but is a educated guess...
5. Save the content of your memory card to your pc first. It should work the only thing I can think of is that the device might ask you to format the card. Doubtful, but it could. I am also sure that the htc directories might be different than the one for the Note. When is my time to swap my memory on my blackberry to my Note I will make a copy in my hard drive, format the memory, let the note build the directories the way it needs then I will move whatever music, pictures and videos I want.
