default button assignment - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom ROM Development

Just would like to know what is the default wm6 button assignment? I have a voice speed dial in the setting but as we all know there is really no physically button for this. I don't usually notice this because I never change these button assignemnt setting. But when I use my earphone/headphone jack, just recently, the voice speed dial program starts everytime I insert a headphone or earphone. Which bring me to double checking button assignment. When I change the Voice Speed Dial button assignment to "none" I don't get the voice speed dial automatically starting. Looks like the earphone/headphone jack seems to be the Voice Speed Dial button huh?... Kindly advice.

fonix voice dial, best program iv every used

since u guys were discussing it on the forums, i thought i might try it out
definately a great program
it can even dial my girl friends name, which is french... dunno if its just going based on her first name cause its american or ... but it works none the less. windows down music up or totally quiet
if u dont have it i suggest getting it. i find the standard ear buds that come with it to be a pain in the ass, so just speaking into the mic on the pda is much better

yessss! it sure is a great program
i originaly downloaded a 'borrowed' copy, but i appriciated the work soo much

OH! by the way... since you liked voice dialer,

Is it possible to record a phone conversation?

im running the standard windows software on my orange spvm1000.
Basically i need to phone someone up and record what they say and what i say etc.... any ideas if that is possible and what software would i need?
please help
christian
press the record button and hold it ...
That will only catch one side of conversation.
No.
Both sides of the conversation are recoreded.
I use it all the time ( when i cant be bothered to look for a pen)
So the record button needs to be depressed and held throughout the conversation? I will try that and see if it works, I havent been able to get both sides of conversation yet and many threads on this subject lead me to believe that others are having the same problem. Is this a documented method or something you found yourself.?
record convos
yes of course a convo can b recorde.and both sides of it very clearly.
lissen carefully
dial the dersired no click the green button n once it rings press record once n leave it now th convo will b recorded... trust me.
but press rec button once the no is dialed ok not b4 the no is dialed not after the other party answers the call.
use it n tell me if it works pm me n let me know ............cheers

just found it myself.
I wanted my sisters email address but didn't have a pen.
As far as one-button recording (you just press a button and it starts recording) is concerned, you may want to check out the "One-button recording? Does it need to show the app window?" row in the article "Everything you may need to know about sound recording on the Pocket PC" at http://pocketpcmag.com/blogs/menneisyys/112005SoundRecorderApps.asp
Almost all third-party sound / audio recorder applications know this trick.

Talking Dialpad

Hi guys i found a way of when ur on ur dialpad to dial a number and one would press and hold a key for instance 1-9 including * and # that the phone will actually say the number out loud and also when you have a call waiting it could play an mp3 in your own ear instead of beeping. I dont know if here is an app out htere to do it but i can write it quite quickly if people would be interested?
It basically just adds keys to the registry to play an mp3 when u press and hold a key. I added the mp3s i use but would lik a lot more from other people so please upload then we can have a few different ones to use
Hey guys inphy a friend of mine is actually developing the app, this is the first beta, it only supports files to be in \my documents\ but it should work fine, have a look and ill geive him some feedback on waht to change etc.
Bring it on!
wow i want
Me like...
Give it to us
I can't wait to get it into my fingers!
Sorry, I mean "to get it on my Neo"!
niiiice idea
waiting you
Well i'm in, i'm always looking for ways to customise my mobile. And try to set it aside from the average joe.
On an extra note a customise app to include such things as being able to asign new keyboard slide sounds from an application. So you can choose a slot(1-0) then a name "Transformers" then choose the slide in sound and out sound separate. This would save everyone messing directly with the registry, renaming and moving files and such. Surely not too complicated for someone with programming knowledge. Find reg keys under Hkey_local_machine\Software\HTC\Slidingsound
Thanks look forward to this app and anything from this coder/programmer in the future.
Thank you once again.
diigibio
i wait for your new app
be quick
The Idea with saing the name instead of the knocking sound on bussy Line sounds great

Hey Grumps sounds great, very useful application...
Nice, I actually watched a video of this app. of YouTube last week sometime. A user had this installed on his iPhone, and I thought it was great!
just have one thought. it would make the response of the system little more. so you might feel some sluggishness

Thanx in advance, mate.

Indeed !
But maybe just little "sacrifice" speed up, we can get other "plus" point, such like you can dial without see the touchscreen while driving ???
Me too!!!
This is a great idea!
yes yes yes !!!
I'd Love it!
That would be awesome! Thanks dude.
My wife has this on her dumb cell phone. It's great for hands free dialing and would be a nice addition to WM.

[Q] Want "ping" instead of "plop" when dialling

Now while I like the "nature" theme of the SIII as much as the next guy, I've got one problem with it.
Like the title says, I really dislike the "plop" sound that you get when dialling, and would much prefer to have a proper (?) dialling tone, e.g. where each key has a different note.
Try as I might, I can't find any easy way to switch to dial tones like I had on my old SE X10, so unless someone out there's got a solution, I can see I'm going to end up switching off dial noises altogether.
+1
Why hasn't anyone answered this question? It's important to have these tones when calling an automated system.

It does actually send the correct tone down the line, you just hear a different one locally. It's hard to say if there is an easy fix, because there should be a sound assignment to each key in the Phone apk or related, and if Sammy has replaced them all with a single one, it might not be so easily modified to point each button at a seperate sound.
All I can suggest is to get an alternative dialer, perhaps the AOSP one?
When I called my bank, it didn't work. I switched from short tones to long ones and it still didn't work.
If I can find a different dialer I guess I'll try it.

That's very strange because it's practically a critical feature that the phone dialer can send DTMF tones. I use it regularly myself so I can promise you that it does work for some of us, it could very well be a problem with your bank. Try rip the phone apk out of a Cyanogen build or similar if there are no dependencies, or if you get a dialer from the play Store pay careful attention to how reliable it is and its permissions, just in case.
I asked this question weeks ago and no one has come up with any 'fix' for it...
The tones you hear when pressing a key have nothing to do with the tones the phone sends as described.
Try calling another phone and pressing the keys, you should hear a distinction between all single tones. (If not, please have your ears checked )
Did you have a good connection when calling the bank? The tones heavily rely on a halfway acceptable connection.
If you still want to hear distinct tones, try other diallers such as Go Dialler. They might be able to do it since it's onlce purely cosmetical.
It could be a problem on the bank's end because Google Voice works.

I'm going to agree with what's said here - while plopping noise IS annoying, I've not had any problems with automated "Press 1 for ..., press 2 for ..., or wait on the line and an operator will assist you" services - they all seem to work. So, the problem - for me at least - is purely cosmetic.
I'd assumed that the plop had been part of the theme that Sammy had applied to the SIII, in which case an experienced themer should be able to undo this in favour of some a bit less crappy. Although not being a 'droid developer or themer myself (merely a user) I've no idea where to start looking for that kind of info - fingers crossed that it's in a configuration file somewhere in the system.
I have been annoyed by this also. I myself am so use to hearing dial tones, that I'm just missing the sound, and just want them back.
I found this, where a user replaced the waterdrop with DTMF tones........but its for the Galaxy s......Good news is the zip has all the tone .ogg's. Maybe someone can look and it and figure out a way to port?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361687
I'm also missing the well known DTMF tones and pissed about that bubbles.
"Nature inspired" concept and our device desing is very nice but this chage is absolutely stupid.
Nature don't has phones growing in trees an phone calling couldn't sound like a leaking tap.
Hope somebody was able to port this SII mod to our device...

does it exist? app to auto-answer call and send key stroke?

Greetings XDA community. I've been googling on and off throughout the day looking for an auto-call answering app that does what I'm looking for. Basically, I need it to auto-answer a call from a particular phone number (easy enough), and after answering I need it to press/send the pound (#) button. Then, I'd like it to hang up. Does anyone know of an existing app that could do this?
While this isn't the exact use I want such an app for, think of it like this: you live in a condo that requires someone to be buzzed in. The building dial pad connects to your cell phone. When they dial you from downstairs, you have to answer and press # to buzz them in. If this was my scenario, I would tell my phone to auto-answer the # of the dial pad, and once answered automatically press # to buzz them in. and then hang up.
I'm fearful no such app exists at the moment, but hoping someone here is my saver!

While I'm not really sure that the app can do those actions, my best guess is Tasker.

You're on the right track. Tasker + AutoInput.
Thanks you two. I have Tasker now and am trying to figure out how to make this happen. It seems logical enough (IF phone rings and caller is "xxxxx", answer phone. Then, when call duration = 3 seconds, input "#" on keypad. Then, hang up), but I'm working on figuring out how tasker wants me to input this basic combo Looks promising once I figure it out, though!
Did you figure this out? I'm looking for the exact same thing and was wondering if you could post your steps. Thanks!
P.S. I'll try it myself as well and see if I can work it out.
I am also looking for the exact same thing. Did you ever find a solution?
Thanks!
