that day i try to flash the to Coffie roms ,english version..
starting testing the rom ,every thing work properly
but after i try to use the handfree to listen the music,
the phone become "silent"
- play music / ringtone with loud speaker , No sound ...
- in voice conversation , i can't head wat he say,& he also can't head my voice totally
but
- when incoming call,it still ring...
- when play song with handfree, its works properly...
i'm try to re-flash to another rom & original rom,
but the problem still be the same....
now i have no idea already.....
wat should i do now.........
re-flash it again..
or
try flash other roms..

THis problem is because of you use the handsfree recently so the plugin jack inside it was broken.
There is mechanical switch inside the handsfree plugin jack. I think it is broken now.
You can fixed it by dissamble the prophet and replace the plugin jack.

it's d jack, not software/rom problem...
i was lucky dat i sent mine to be repaired at HTC service centre without paying any penny....heheh...i sent it there with broken audio jack, and small dot on the screen..i thought i still got my warranty but they said d warranty is void...cos i upgrade to wm6..(lrr..so stupid)...they asked me to pay around rm900++ for motherboard but i said no..went there back to take my prophet..and took a surprise when i assembled back the battery during lunch that everything went fine again..now im phobia of using the headset..heheh...

Yes,as some members pointed out its a jack issue. I'd the same issue as well and took it 2 HTC. Mine was out of warranty ,so they said 400S$ for replacing the mother board..i was like goto hell ..No way. then took it back from them ,got home,and it started working on its own. If it happens again just,poke the jack with a match stick or something which wont get stuck in there and it will work.

i send to the htc service center also,
there told me the same thing .....
mother board problem,hv to change the whole board,rm900++
i ask them send back to me d......
so disappointed to their service now,every set without warranty ,ask customer change motherboard & pay damn expensive repair fee,
i got 1 friend b4,touch screen doesn't work,send repair,they say change motherboard + screen panal = 2500++
wat the hell is that ?
if i can pay the 2500++,y not i just change to a new set,some more i can get another 1 year warranty for it...
come back to the topic,

Hi there,
Yes you have to replace the plugin jack but i donot know where i can get in Malaysia since i do not live there.
For guidance to dissamble the prophet , you can search at modaco.com
To dissamble it , you have to open battery cover dan also the camera cover.
My suggestion, leave the prophet to the master services other than tried by your self, the damage can be higher if you try to fix by ur self.
BTW, this is the main problem of prophet when you are recently using handsfree, used bluetooth headset to have more safe operation.

What I meant was,when u use something to poke the jack,make sure you dont use something that has a chance of breaking and getting stuck inside.

1. if you can make recordings with you prophet, that means the mic. of it is working fine,
2. can hear music, that mean the speaker in fine.....
3. well, did you mute your phone?
4. or alternatively, you may try to flash other roms, but,
5. you can also try to hard reset you phone before starting any further.. ^_^

hardware problem...
ive had this several months back...
its due to using the headphone a lot of the time that causes the metal in the audio jack to damage or lose its "spring"ity..hehe...
theres way to fix it...try find some post in xda

my problem not fram audio jak . i tryed that .
i cann't use headset and handsfree whit wire . i can only use hadsfree bluetooth . and when i chenge my device ROM the headset work but after 10 min or 15min or few more that not work . early after softrest that work but after few hours again headset not work . and when i use over and over for several time of headset that work and again after few minutes headset not work .

1. You case did sound like the ear-piece of the prophet is getting aged. (hardware matters)
2. Aging of electrical components cause unstable performance of the hardware,
3. I am afraid you need to replace the ear-piece of your prophet to dig your way out.
( or re-flash you prophet will be an alternative, to see if really a chance for software problem)
if so, feel free to flash with the tool from my signature.Error free anyway~ ^^ )

1. flash other rom (you may click and follow the steps @ my signature ),
2. bring your phone to repair
Strange, my other prophet (Xda Neo) has this issue, I think it is HW. I tried flashing Radio Rom, but no luck, also I changed earpiece but no luck. I will try flashing WM6, bluetooth headset works fine, very strange.

There are separate speakers for hands free and earphone on xda neo (htc prophet) as i know, i had a problem with hands-free (music) speaker but i could still hear when making calls.
I don't know if this is going to help you, or you already solved it.

ok here it is now please suggest some solution....
my problem is that the earphone speaker of my imate jamin is not working properly. i mean when i make or recieve a call i could not hear the caller's voice but when i turn the speaker on its fine and when i turn the speaker off theirs no voice they could hear me but i cannot .

head phone jack faulty
it could be the head phone jack which is faulty, try plug in and out a few see if it work and able to listen the caller.
it the common problem in the head phone jack.

Try a WM5 ROM and see if that helps.
Also try the headphone trick in the post above this.
Failing that, I would assume it's a hardware issue.

there aint no problem with the headphone jack because when i use the headphones it works fine even with the speaker (on the back) it works fine. the problem is with the front one (aka ear piece). some times it works and some times it doesn't.
and i've been using WM6 ROMs since last year and there was no trouble as such. it started like last week. now i've even tried old (WM6) ROMs but...
now i'll try WM5 and would tell you.

yeah i just traced out the problem and it is kinda hardware. when i press the back cover (upper one with the camera lena) during the call it starts working but otherwise dont.
and i think the reason is that the device fell down on the ground a few days ago.
now what would you suggest ... if i should open it myself and tighten the back cover or take it to some vendor???

Your choice... The back part is not hard to take of, but to get to the speaker etc you need a T6 screwdriver, and it will void any warranty you have...
glad that your problem is solved in some way. as the early post state not hard to open up the back cover. I've try too and wanna take the camera out too.

and one thing, touch in some grounded surface, like your computer metal case.
the static could kill your prophet.If you need some help how to open it add me in msn I can help you

Every i-mate JAMin has this prob. sumtime i got it two times.......its a hardware prob. with headphone jack.when u plugin ur headphone it routes the sound to headphone but whn u remove it the sound doesnt get rerouted to speaker...simple solution take a pin and start pokin to the right of jack theres a contact there which u have to try to un-connect......n if u cant do it give it for repairs

i used my prophet about 2 years and so far i didn't got any trouble expect small fix. now my prophet flash and rom upgrade works almost everything well but i am having issue of conversation. if somebody call me i can have rings but i can't heared anjything and also who ever i try to call there is no sound at all. even WM player plays but no sound. no notification sound nothing.
i try useing earphone and it gives me very much low sound but if i call or recive then same problem.
does anybody have clue what going on with my prophet?
please i really need urs suggestion .

may be tweak of sound if u know so, as far as i guess i used the photo contact pro 5.09 and set the setting up to loud and may be this things made to happen this problem

what happen this morning is that i change the battery and it work for a while and after i connect to the pc then it back to the same trouble and now i am downloading ur 1d-storm and i will try this one too if any change happen i will let u know.
i am very glad u help me on this trouble what ever happen.

I got this problem sometime, but after I did hard reset it will be ok. I've encounter this problem many cook rooms. but for original shiped room is ok
even when i am trying to speaker on it didn't work. i already flash the original rom but i hae same problem. i can use my prophet only by ear phone. expect that i can't use coz' there is no sound.

Having speed problem on my Honor 5x I installed lineage OS.
I use a helmet bluetooth headset. When I call or someone call me I can perfectly hear the caller but not him.
It's not a device problem because I tried with another phone without any trouble.
On lineage ROM's i deleted Audio FX. I worked for the first call then same problem.
I remove all voice option from OK Google with no effect.
I'm desperate because I use my headset for my job.
I've installed other ROM with always the same problem.
Since i installed back stock rom but i want to throw my phone on the floor every days because of the speed (sometimes 5 minutes to have my road on maps !)
Do you think it could come from the Kernel ?

You can search here for a solution (but don't get too excited). If you think is a kernel issue you can try HotDoG kernel.
Even hot dog finds same issues as they rely on crpalmers kernel tree

I tried a lot Rom... Finally I found "MIUI _8_Global_V1.2 OneTeamEdition" and It's work fine...
I don't know it's kernel problem. It's not the same as lineageOS.

It' yours ?
And the first time, it's worked well, but after, the mic was inaudible. If I switch the mode to Bluetooth to speaker and another time to Bluetooth for app phone (see picture) it worked fine. But after the mic is, at new, inaudible.

Maybe it's a problem with your headset?
No, I tried with S7, work fine..
And I tried with a another helmet headset (CARDO), and It didn't work.. Nothing, no speaker, no mic...but it remoted the phone.
And it worked with MUI 8 !!!
I think the app phone isn't the same. I think that is the problem.
