Im write small programm to unlock and unhide extended rom partition on Gene.
DO NOT USE IT ON OTHER DEVICES
USE IT ON OWN RISK
Copy programm on your Gene and run it.
After the message on success reboot your device.
You will have folder Extended_Rom2 in which it is possible to copy
files and which will be will remain at hard reset.
Total space in ExtRom - 10 MB.

within my GENE, there is no such key:

the other key exists, the attribute value is:

Turn off your Gene
Hold both the softkeys and press the power button. Do not let go of the softkeys until you see a text prompt that says everything will be deleted, now get rid of the softkeys and press the call button.

Files and structures changed in 1.20. So if you just run the cab on your device . there will be some files left over from previous versions which didn't got overwrite. They may (or may not) cause problems.
BTW if you don't wanna hard-reset to clear all those files. You have to remove it manually before you install 1.20 cab.

I have found problem in WM2003SE with SD card. Everytime, your device is off and suddenly turn-on ,SD-card cannot be detected.

Bcz the old IA CALLER ID is still running and you didn't delete it files that's why it's working with you.
First of all delete the IA caller Id shortcut from the \WINDOWS\Startup , reboot the ppc, then delete the files manually as it's posted before in this thread.

same problem with me IA_contact can not be replace, but when i copy it to my Extended ROM and run configurator to add it to my config, then hard reset it, it installed properly.
there are two downloads in this forum. Which one should i download? I have an unlocked o2 xda IIs in english.
one is WWE and the other is ITA. Guess :lol:

Try this step
1) Go to registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/StorageManager/Profiles/TRUEFFS_DOC
2) Change value in folder "Storage" by other thing example "Toto"
3) Soft Reset your 2020i
4) With Explorer now you must have a folder nammed "Toto" in my example
5) Try to copy or delete inside a file. For me it's working
6) Return in registry, return original value "Storage" in Folder value
7) Soft reset again
In final you must have your original Storage that is now unloked
Let me know if it's correct for you

I tried exactly what you said, even that I have tried it before, but it DID NOT work.
that parameter which you changed is just responsible for the name of the folder only, so if you realy could unlock the Storage folder, then it happened with you by chance with another way. if it was just that simple then flashing PPC would solve it also, but it wont, I also tried that.
so please try again to lock and unlock it if u remember the way and tell us in more details. in yours explanations: the name of storage is changed but still I cannot delete or save into it.
on the other hand, if you change the value of MOUNT there to 0 then you will hide your Storage folder, and this is what the LoadvDisk does, it just plays with such a registry parameter, but for unlocking the DLL file is responsible for that, for those who doesn't know what is the DLL, simply I can tell that it is a collection (Library) of functions, now that DLL file has a function that is responsible of unlocking the disk by modifying the non erasable memory ROM. and that is why when you flash the PPC, still your extended rom and Storage is locked, because that data is saved on the ROM that needs a special function and password passed to that function for modifying that data there.

In fact i was no certain about "other way" at the moment where i wrote.
Follow exchange about " eNiPlA", i tried modify the tools for SX66 and use it during the test but don't view effect immediatly. It was the same tools that was loocked my storage that today after modification unlock it.
Try this, but i m not certain that to change name of folder in registry is necessary

Don't use this tools (in this state) to lock, but just for UNLOCK Storage . As EMU said, if you try to lock , in fact it lock your STORAGE.
yes, that tool worked alone, just install the tool, run it on your device and try only to unlock (ONLY UNLOCK, DONT TRY ANYTHING ELSE) and it would be ok after a soft reset!
thanks apoujade, can I ask you how did you modify the tool, which tools you used for that, if you had the whole source code can you please send it also, because if you could modify this tool, then we may reach to the Extended Rom easier from it also.

I changed with binary editor string "rEiRaH" with " eNiPlA" wthitout missing 2 space before. It's seems to be made for Audiovox with Extended ROM in target. On Alpine it's work for Storage area.

Yes, you are right.
What I thank all friends here is that I could release the lock of Storage which was locked during the operation of finding the way to unlock ExtROM.
So if I try this manual, after that my ExtROM is writeable? That would it be cool!

everyone is wondering how to unlock the Extended Rom, so as everyone, while we were trying to figure it out, our Storage Folder became also locked (not-writable) so we had another problem, it became our main problem, since the Storage folder should be writable in the normal form, so the ideas in this post are only to unlock the Storage folder and has no relation to the extended rom, so if your Storage folder is already writable, then ignore what is in this form. if you are looking for a solution for your Extended Rom, the answer is: WAIT, we are working on that, and when it is solved most probably you will find the answer in a seperate post..

I didn't even realize that the problem started when I tried to use the extrom unlocking tools, I just found one day that my storage was locked and I could no longer write or delete files from it. That sucked, it took me ages to find this post and now it is fixed. Great!

i have this weird problem in WM6 rom i have tried Prophet touch xb By Gullum and Vista Stylish rom...
the problem is that i have tomtom installed in my pda and when i turn my Jamin on everything works fine like the tomtom software works 100%. but if i leave the phone on idle for 2 hours and then start tomtom it says maps not found....
then i go to file explorer and check the storage card and in the map folder and all the files are there but there ar extra files there with "SQUARE" in front of them....
this problem is fixed by removing the memory card and re-inserting it....
also could this be because i am using a mmc card with an sd adapter ?

Sounds like the same problem I got with my prophet.
There is something like a timeout with the MemoryCard. If you put it out and in again before you start TomTom it will possibly work.
I also have the Problem, that the files are shown, but they are not there. To check this you have to go in one ore two sub folders and they will be empty.
I never found a solution for this problem and I have this since Prphet Touch VI.
Try to add this registry key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\SDCARD\ClientDrivers\Class\MMC_Class]

or download the file attached, change the extension to .reg and import it with a reg editor

This is really the only problem!
In the Prophet Touch roms the reason for sd-card works and mmc not is that the key exists in the registry for sd only.
I purchased a Taiwanese Iolite (T4242), comes with Chinese version.
I used the QMAT to Change the CID to SperCID and than Just flashed it with :
_file_RUU_Iolite_HTC_Europe_1.09.401.3_Radio_Sign_12.41.30.16_0.41.30.12_Ship.exe
IT WORKS FLOWSLY... and my device is now WWE.
How to do it:

• Download QMAT and MTTY from http://rapidshare.de/files/46772105/qmat_and_mtty.zip.html
o The latest copy of QMAT is also found http://revskills.de/pages/download.html

Format your memory card for FAT32
• If you have a card reader, go to DOS and type:
format <volume> /FS:FAT32 /A:4096
where <volume> specifies the drive letter of the SD card. For example: format d: /FS:FAT32 /A:4096
Run QMAT to create the Gold Card
1. Put the newly-formatted SD card in the working WM device and connect to ActiveSync
2. Run QMAT, go to the Hardware Forensics menu, and then select "Generate HTC Goldcard"
3. Select your device's key (Iolite)
4. Get the SD Card Serial from WINCE Device
5. Save the Gold Card image to the SD Card
6. Put the SD card in your device and put it into bootloader mode (hold down the VolumeDown button and press the reset button).
7. Now you have a card which gives you SuperCID.
8. With the card inserted into the Iolite, which is in bootloader mode, connect the Iolite via USB to ActiveSync.
9. From your PC, run the RomUpdateUtility.exe from the RUU folder containing the WWE shipped ROM
It should start flashing if everything is configured properly!

I flashed mine without making a GoldCard to unlock my Iolite. Mine was in CHS and after flashing become Europe WWE. I am looking for an Asia WWE. There is one in the forum but it can't be flash and I don't know whether it is because it is RUU .... _Test.exe and not ... _Ship.exe
Maybe the GoldCard unlock method will work and not sure it is worthwhile to try.
In fact it is very easy.... if you read it carefully you see that it is just connect your device with a formated sd and than reboot it to boot loader...
The next is flash with any ship rom.
Seems that your country id matched the rom you flashed.. however you will not be able to flash any-rom.
As it seems to me many users are stucked with rom flashing .. Hard SPL has not been around yet.. so this is a nice solution and once again - very easy!!!
Maybe it works. But.... not in unregistered version with Trojan.
Be careful!

Mmm.... in fact, I did copy the entire directions of "Howto", however I did not even use the MTTY.. pay attention that in my notes, I ignored checking of SuperId setup. The Mtty is required just to check that you have a superid before flashing. It is not required (I think so...) with this machine... it wull not flash if the SuperId did not load.... so just to make it simple : connect the machine, setup the SD card and flash ..... easy no?
I will not load the MTTY from Rapidshare I trust that you checked it and since it is not required... I suggest that you eliminate this step.
Tested from a Taiwanese rom to a European one and it works great. Thanks a lot for the tip !

HTC Iolite ptg, cid HTC__506. I can not do anything with it. for "ruurun 0" reply "command error". Gold card not worked. htctr.exe not generate correct *.nbh.

Dubi, wait a minute, do you have a registered QMAT or an unregistered version?
As one of the forum member commented, it will take 20 Euros, (more than $30) to register QMAT in order to make a GoldCard with the method you mentioned.
Can you confirm that?

have you a registered version QMAT???
If yes :
format the MicroSD card if FAT32
if you run vista or win7 ,then you must run the QMAT in admin
run in ppc itsutil ,ask for the ppc
now can you make it the gold card

You can also download one from the "demo" version.
Version 4.24 (Legal, not cracked or something) were is option to creating goldcards you can download from atachments in this post: http://pdaclub.pl/forum/index.php?topic=142183.msg1063217#msg1063217

I have made the gold card successfully, but when I update the rom, I still can not pass the CID problem. Is there any people tell me how to flash the rom? Thanks a lot
in qmat 4.24 no Mega option in drop-down, what device need to select? Elfin or somethink other?
