http://rapidshare.com/files/88929555/RUU_signed.zip.html
I cooked this for myself, because with other roms i was missing voicemail notifications. I am using it right now and seems like its very good and stable. So i would like to share it with the community.
It includes most of the telus customizations ( yes its has ugly purple windows theme too)

Base Rom Version is : 3.15.651.0
CE OS 5.2.1622 ( Build 18128.0.4.4)

It includes most of the stock stuff eg. windows live, office etc.
third party packages included are

PP_PIE.sa.CAB
PP_WelcomeMessage_1.3.sa.CAB

EDIT : jan 31 update
removed rltoday
Added : htc gps tool, 10 buttom comm manager, task manager and x buttom
Fixed : phone setting save bug

If not pre packaged in an executable, how do we install it?

attached is the rom update utility.
extract this and then put the ruu_signed.nbh file from original post in this folder.
then run ROMUpdateUtility.exe.

Thanks for the advice. I had already figured it out though.
I do have to say, this is one amazing ROM for us Telus users. I love the default Telus phone dialer with the colours etc, the EV icon shows up normally, GPS works, Phone programmed itself easily, I just had to switch back to the HTC default black theme and get rid of the RL today plugin you had. I preffer the HTC home plugin myself but that was easily switchable.
Two thumbs up.
The mobile speed is through the roof! It acts just like it should, just like the stock Telus one! Except I have GPS now and the updated radios working like they should or so it appears. It's so fast!

Do you have to update the radio and and unlock rom?

It looks like an OS only update. I'm going to give this a try for the heck of it.
just make sure you have the current unlocker installed and current radio.
Thankz a1jatt for the Telus rom !

I used the current unlocker, and I also updated to the latest radio.

A1jatt, Can you integrate Windows Mobile 6.1 into the rom? I'd love that.

^^ i think that will be too buggy right now.
btw i have made some changes today

I'm flashing it now. The changes sound nice.
What was with the 300xz breakdown image? I want the Telus startup image. How can I fix that?
Not a fan of pocketzenphone, either. I'd like the ones that comes with Telus.
I think you should keep a Telus rom as stock looking as possible, with the upgurades that you've included except for the Today changes. That should look stock, otherwise the user can easily change it themselves. Especially the Telus loading screen which is now a car.

just a question
so to use your custom rom do i have to use the unlock app then add your rom then the radio app also? or is this an all in one rom? yes im a noob lol

Use the unlocker if you haven't been unlocked yet.
Then boot the boot loader etc by pressing soft power, camera, and the hard reset on the bottom of the phone at the same time.
Once you're in that mode, go to activesync, click on file, connection settings, and uncheck usb while you flash the phone.
His latest download just requires that you double click on romupdateutility.exe and follow the prompts. Then do the radio update and let your phone boot.

I also noticed the camera feature is missing. The shortcut is missing or not working, and when I try to launch it, I get nothing. I tried to take a pic and voila.. fantastic.

hmmm
so is it worth this rom update or will i loose my camera feature?

The camera feature is nowhere to be found. I'm getting rid of the rom until this is fixed, and if possible, the things I suggested before. I'll have to cook my own rom some time.

hmmm
damn phone keeps rebooting again????? after installing rom and files? seems to happen as soon as i remove it from the usb connection?

I'm not sure what you did, but reflash it.

I have dcd's telus rom and have been using windows mobile phones ever since the samsung i700. His rom is the smoothest rom I have ever had so far. Keeping in mind it has only been 5 day's. Camera works and the only bug I have found since Sunday, the day I flashed, is the issue with the EV icon and voice mail icon. It's quick, smooth and hasn't locked once.
I'm not posting this to make light of this thread by any means. I appreciate and support anyone that produces rom's. Especially rom's that cater to specific carriers (Telus for me)! I only share this info in regards to my personal experience. The more options, the better it is for everyone. Please continue the great work!

same crap
anyone in hamilton that can do this for me??

If DCD had fixed the EV icon and the voicemail, I would switch to his.

Scott’s VZW ROM - Working VZ Navigator (eRice kitchen v1.03.7) - Rev 1 out!
UPDATE 19 DEC 2008 @ 18:00 Central Time. New ROM is out. Consider this thread discontinued. Files will be on the website for historical purposes. I would recomend upgrading to my latest ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=461524
UPDATED 12 Dec 2008 @ 19:00 Central Time
** You will need to dial *22899 after you flash to reprogram. Do this before anything else.
** Other model phones from other carriers will loose custom EPST settings per NexVision's testing.
REVISION 1 Changes at the end of this modified original post
This ROM IS FOR VZW USERS ONLY!
Greetings fellow VZW users. My first creation for us is Custom a ROM based off of eRice’s kitchen in this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46965.
ROM Info:
**The ROM I created is nearly identical to the “STOCK” ROM with a couple minor additions and an upgrade to the core CE OS files to version 5.2.20931. I pulled all the apps and drivers from the leaked VZW ROM in this into the eRice kitchen from this post: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741
**I stripped out the Sprint drivers and applications from the eRice kitchen and added the VZW drivers and Apps from the VZW leaked ROM. It was fairly seamless to do. I tested VZ Nav and it worked great!
** This ROM is considerably more smooth than the stock ROM and more responsive in most applications including Touch Flow. No, it doesn’t fix our missing memory problem but I dont think you will notice it as much now. What makes it great is it is based on the 20931 CE OS but retains the 100% stock look via proper drivers and applications.
**VZ Navigator runs well on this ROM!
As far as I know this is the first “Custom” ROM with any sort of GPS for the XV6850.
**********************
*Revision One Changes*
**********************
Added N2A Weather Patch to Autoinstall. INcludes most US cities and patched weather server.
Added Diamond TF3D Config to Autoinstall (Runs with no errors)
Added Nue Fonts with a few extra fonts than what the OEM normally has. They look great on this screen!
Added Advanced Config 3.3
Added Turn off SMS Sent Notification - cabbed by "mixtapeking1900"
Added DotNET CF 2.0 along side DotNet 3.5. DotNet 2.0 installs first then ver 3.5 via Autoinstall (CONFIG.TXT in extended package OEM for the kitchen users.) I bieleve either could be removed but not truly sure. DotNet 3.5 was needed for Advanced Config.*Note - Selecting dotNet 3.5 in the KITCHEN will cause problems! Dont do it unless you proplery modify config.txt to not load them in the AutoRUN.
Removed IE 6.1 (Breaks My Button Setup!)
Removed JetPrint Bluetooth printing (whatever it is called, not sure)
Fixed My Button Settings not launching from the Settings Tab in Manila
Fixed Voice Command> I added it back in. Go to "Settings -> Voice Command" to turn it on before it will RUN!
Kept HTC YouTube
Kept HTC Network Plug in
Kept Internet Sharing
*All Three of these are from the eRice Kitchen. Big thanks to eRice for all 3!
No other installed programs than those listed and the VZW OEM apps.
The ROM is now pretty close to Stock which was the goal. This should be the last revision unless someone finds a major bug.
AS always, please report bugs and any thing you like as well.
Files located at www.scottcrosler.com
Mad Thanks go out to eRice, Commenex and ImCoKeMan for making this possible! Without them none of this would exist!
UPDATED 12 Dec 2008 @ 19:00 Central Time
Basic Installtion Instructions
Download ROM and extract to desktopp (Now includes RUU). Start the ROM Upgrade Utility and follow instructions Flashes just like ANY other phone or ROM. Flashing will destroy ALL data on phone. Always sync with ActiveSync before starting the upgrade utility OR place your phone in bootloader mode (Power, VolDown, and reset)
A call to *228 or *22899 (automated activation line) WILL BE REQUIRED for normal usage! This is true of ALL ROM's and even a simple hard reset of the Verizon stock ROM.
Before you flash you MUST be unlocked. I do not support the unlock process or the software but I can tell if you that if you follow the instructions at the link it works perfect.
Link to unlocker is here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503
Link to ROM and RUU is here: http://www.scottcrosler.com/
Bugs so far:
Wiped Clean on new revision
**Here is where you will see gains with this ROM over stock...
1. Navigating through menu's, especially the settings menu.
2. Smoothness of TF3D (debateable depending on the tabs.) First time will be slow for EVERY device if you leave ALL the tabs enabled. Each tab is a like a sep app that has to load when you select it. After the tabs are loaded you will see even more gains over the stock ROM.
3. File explorer. Go to the Windows folder. No further explanation needed there, trust me. The stock file explorer took nearly 15 seconds to load Windows. This does it almost instantly.
Updated Kitchen Files!
This is for the eRICE KITCHEN. This is not my own Kitchen but an add on of VZW OEM files to the eRice kitchen.
Its the OEM pack that I used to create this ROM. Its what I stripped out of the VZW leaked ROM. I added just a couple OEMs that are not in the cooked ROM. I dont have the original OEM's broken out! IF anyone wants to break it down further like eRice did with his original kitchen let me know and I will host it on my site.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR KITCHEN SET UP:
Download and extract (to desktop) eRice 1.03.07 kitchen from here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42796
Delete the entire OEM folder from inside the kitchen!
Download and extract the VZW OEM folder from www.scottcrosler.com and place it in the eRice kitchen as to replace the one you just delted. I made one minor change to the pure VZW OEM folders.I dropped the phonecanvas XML provisioning file into OEM apps. i think it supposed to be in SYS but I dont know.... It works fine the way it is. If you have never heard of the file then ignore this part of the post.
Start RaphealKitchen.CMD and follow instructions.
***Do not select DotNET 3.5 in the kitchen!!!. It is enabled by default, delelect it. Will cause issues.
I will try to support the kitchen as much as possible. Please do not bother eRice with this hybrid kitchen as I am sure he will not support my hybrid creation.
Thank eRice for this kitchen.
Thank the original poster of this thread for the leaked ROM I worked with:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741. Not sure who posted it.
Thank me for putting it together!
I AM NOT TAKING CREDIT FOR ANY OF THE FILES. I do however take credit for converting to VZW OEM.
Should there be a link to your ROM here?
Are there instructions on how to flash?
Like putting phone into bootloader mode or anything else necessary?
Does the unlock process wipe the phone or does only the ROM update wipe?
Anyone tried this yet? Any reviews?
It's a lot of work to reinstall everything and to re-apply my special settings, even though I've been documenting what I've done.
Also, I was thinking of trying that Telus radio. Can I still try that on this? Does a radio update/change wipe the device clean or that's non-destructive?

I updated the second post with the steps you need. Sorry was trying not to get flamed on my thread. Someone over at PPCGeeks flamed me for pretty much no reason other than the fact that they could. It only stopped me from releasing my ROM over there. Oh well. There loss. Too bad because there are some really good people over there. The eRice kitchen was perfect in every aspect of a ktichen. I was never so impressed. Impressed enouhg to download the leaked ROM and portover the VZW software ;c) Its a nice change over the stock CE OS. If you flash let me knwo what you think.
Hi Scott,
I've been lurking on both forums since I got my Titan last December. I have learned much from everyone here and over at PPCG: these are the best resources by far for those of us into our phones and the tech behind it.
I agree that you were treated less than "professionally" over at PPCG, and hope that you will continue to work on the VZW TP/XV6850. Thanks for this great use of Eric's kitchen tools and stock ROM, along with your knowledge on how to get them all working for us! My take from the eRice thread is that he has no issue whatsoever with you using his stuff, and in fact he welcomes it for us VZW stepchildren... hehe.
This ROM does indeed kick arse, and hopefully GC and others will figure out the PRI lockdown and we will all have an amazing little machine to play with: it is w/o a doubt a much slicker device than the Titan, and I dug that little unit for the better part of a year
Cheers Pal

You know what Dude, that is all I needed for motivation! You verizon users have some serisou **** instore for you ;c) Thanks for the positive feedback! Im motivated again!
They will figure out the PRI crap. It will take time. I wish skywing would port over his adapter program. I could incormporate that and we would have 100% GPS just like everyone else. He stated in his thread he was not interested in doing so. Thats a huge loss for us that we never even had ;c(
For the record!
For the record:
I have always asked permission before I redistribute any item found here. I asked DCD for his kitchen when I posted my R4R ROM for the Titan's.
I asked eRice specifically if I could port his stuff over for VZW users. His response was:
"if you can get the sprint carrier files split from the rom/kitchen and include the vzw ones, more power to you. that's what this forum is about. sharing ideas and results and improving on them for the benefit of everyone."
Its posted here. Just for the record ;c)

A few people have tried on PPCGeeks with great success as posted above.
Keep it coming. Two things to note. And YES I Just installed this ROM.
First, I had to *228 (not surprised but it is required to get data connections to work. This has been true for every ROM i've played with as well as custom ROM's i've built in the kitchen.)
Second, Comm Manager is missing from the slider menu with TF3D enabled. (Although still accessible via the keyboard shortcut.)
I will play some more and let you know what else I find. Thanks.

The comm manager TAB or the comm manager link in the settings Tab? Its just fine for me. There is no Comm manager TAB in VZW version of TF3D.
I see you use the PPC Kitchen. That does have the Comm Manager Tab and you are used to that. This version is stragiht ripped from the ROM. No changes AT ALL. The stock phone doesnt have COmm manager Tab.
How about responsiveness?
Launching VZ Nav opened Opera and downloaded the CAB. CAB launched got to privacy screen but complained about not being able to save privacy settings. Only option is to lick OK. You are then brough tto the "default" VZ NAV error screen telling you there was a problem with your GPS device. I do have the CAB for VZ NAV now however.
Re-Launching VZ NAV produces the same result. Unable to save privacy and crashes out.
My mistake. You're right. I've gone through so many ROM's that it's a blur. The "Communications" link is still under the "Settings" tab in TF3D as it should be.
So far responsiveness is good. I have not configured the settings for my "regular" business use however.
Perhaps the reason VZ NAV will not install is because it's the official signed version?

No, It always crashes twice at the initial set up, even on the Stock ROM. Its a crappy program I know! Try it a third time and you are good from then on. If not let me know and I will upload the Cab that I have. Nothing special about it though.
EDIT: I relfashed my phone, installed and it worked for me. It still does the three times to load problem. Two GPS errors for me. Then the third time it starts. THis is the EXACT behavior of the stock ROM.
bkurek,
How do you "go through so many roms"? Isn't it an hour or more to reinstall all of your apps and personal settings or is there some easier way that I'm missing?
I can't restore with SPB Backup, right?
Would you say this rom is noticeably faster?

You MAY be able to restore with SPB back up. MAY being the keyword. You can always try it. It wont hurt anything. Worse case scenraio; Hard reset.
I will let bkurek answer the respoinsiveness question. Anything from me woudl be purely biased ;c)

That's true. Since it's basically the stock ROM, I might have a shot. I guess the one thing that might be a problem would be your IE6 update.

I go through them because I enjoy doing so and I'm looking for what *I* want. Yes it can be that long but I don't go through all the motions until I've found the right combination/foundation to build on. I did not for instance configure ALL of my email accounts or setup active synch in vista, etc etc
Yes it does feel very snappy but just like anything else you'll find it to be faster today and go back to *****ing about how slow it is tomorrow. It's a matter of perception in the end. You'll always want more. I'm actually more interested in a stable build than a faster one because I already know it'll never be as fast as I want it to be. I have experienced a myriad of stability issues that if I don't find a remedy for I will return this phone. They manifest mostly in the messaging components at this time. I have not had to soft reset a phone this much since 1990-something. Speaking of which, as a completely uninteresting side note, I have not posted to a forum since early 1990-something but the point is that I do like this device and would like to see it improved upon is why I am taking the time to post now. It’s a cool phone. Give it some time. Someone, somewhere will make it faster and more stable. I think.

Interesting. My stock did not have this problem but it came pre-loaded with VZ NAV. Third time is the charm.
Program files and things I don't want to lose always go to main for me.

[16-06-2009] Max's Neon ROM Test (WM6.5 Build 21500)

Massive thanks to jerpelea (wouldn't have gotten anywhere close without him).
I'm back! This new version is based on the fantastic Insomnia NIKI Kitchen, using WM6.5 Build 21500 and OEM Iolite/mishmash. As I made this version for my personal use, it is FULL of applications - if you don't like applications installed from the start, don't download it!
Warning: This ROM is for testing only and has been prepared by a complete cooking noob (me). I cannot guarantee any results for you or your phone and this may end up screwing things up COMPLETELY . Install at your own risk.
Having said that, it works very well on my NEON200 (Touch Dual 850), much better than any other ROM I have tried and even better than the old 6.1 version.
Make sure you have installed the Neon Hardspl (thanks Olipro) before you even remotely consider installing this.
Known Issues:
- DEVICE ID Reports as NIKI100 (I am still trying to figure out the XIP stuff)
- The camera hardware button does not work
- The camera autofocus doesn't work properly (messed up the some of the files I copied I think) so it takes a few seconds to shoot.
- Hardware keyboard doesn't work properly. It thinks that it is a 16key version.
Anyway, give it a go if you are game and let me know how it goes. It is a hundred times more finger friendly than the WM6.1 ROMs (which is the whole point of the touch phones).
I only do this in my *very* spare time, so I'm sorry in advance if I don't update often. I can say that I am very happy with the ROM as it is (never use the keyboard or camera), so it may be quite while before I update.
Download the new WM6.5 ROM here.
Old version (WM6.1 Build 21109) can be downloaded here if you want it for some reason.
Well done, looks nice. Everything works. Camera is good, text works, after calling t-mobile internet connects. Reception is fine, battery does not get hot. Although, instead of having a box with an x in the middle of it at far right corner, i have just an x. It takes a little more effort closing out of an application. Good job again.

I was just about to edit my post Keyboard does not work at any time. Also when recieving a voicemail, i tap and trys to connect. But says that phone call cannot be made at this time.
I've had no issues with voicemail...
Have you tried installing the latest Ezinput from the first post? Do you have 20-key device?
Perhapsthe Voicemailis something i need to set up with T-mobile.Yep, got the touch keyboard working with the install No keypad though.
Edit: Yes, camera button does not work.
I'm gonna load it up now and give it a shot.
I can't find the SIP task in task manager to kill it before installing the .cab.
Also can't get online because it is configured for Telestra (I imagine I can fix that easily). The "Setup Connection" app in settings closes immediately. That is how I used to setup my internet/phone provider stuffs.
Edits.
Ok...oddly enough after I updated my internet settings the 'task manager' and a few other apps showed up. That allowed me to kill the SIP and load the keyboard.
Overall this ROM is fast! Very happy with it so far. Can't wait till it is finished.
PS - I can't use my hardware keyboard either. Even with the SIP update. On screen works perfect.
I have NEON300 US version. If I decide to upgrade, can I reset back to factor default? Or is once upgrade, no turning back? I have Build 19209.1.0.2 version now on my phone.

I haven't found a packaged default ROM. You might wanna see if he releases one once he gets this build worked out. I would love to get a copy of your default rom before you upgrade it. I think I lost mine 2 laptops ago. Once you load the HardSPL you can go back, however you need the default ROM to do so. There isn't a backup / restore utility as far as I know.

Let me know if you need help with this.
Voice Mail (T-Mobile)
I havn't been able to figure out how to change the voicemail number from the Telestra default, but if you dial "123" with a T-Mobile sim card, it will send you to your voicemail account. Just a little tip I thought might help.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I thought it was just an issue I had to call t-mobile about. Thanks
SMS
I have een having issues with SMS. When I try to send a text, I get an error message saying that my message can not be sent, that I need to subscribe to the service. I flashed back to Seths V2 rom and every thing worked fine. Any ideas?
BTW, don't know if any one needs it, but here is a cab that works great for reconfiguring internet stuff for T-Mobile or AT&T
I Just found this link. Says it is for the Neon 200 US, but my device still says 300. Any how, looks exactly like the Ship Rom as I remember it.

You can change it by editing:
1) Modelname.txt in OEM/OperatorPkg
2) nbhgen.txt in Tools/Htools
I've Changed nbhgen.txt to NEON200 and a different version number, but when I flash it still says NIKI100 and the old version number. I have also changed the CID in OS.nb.payload, still no luck.

Change the name in modelname.txt in oem/operatorpkg
Also change mixupdate_oemversion_100.provxml in same folder.
os.nb.payload content will get overwritten when the ROM is built.
Thanks for mixupdate_oemversion_100.provxml - that has the version info in it (also edited easily via registry). It was missing from my kitchen.
modelname.txt simply has "Touch Dual" (which is OK) in it. That file doesn't let me change NIKI100 to NEON200.
If you check my .nbh in a hex editor it displays "NEON200", yet upon flashing it still displays the device as NIKI100...

dcd_hermann_0.92.exe ?

Can it be? Is mr. dcd1182 back from the dead?
My Touch PRO has been waiting it's whole life for a dcd rom, i searched but didn't find anything about this goodie!!!!!!!!!Anyone have a clue about anything about it?
It looks like it was uploaded 5-22-09
It also has a PagePool of only 6Mb, is this a verizon rom? I'm afraid to flash my Sprint TP not knowing anything else
*edit, if you need instructions follow my post on ppcgeeks, seems like more people are trying it out over there
Back when i had my Titan i would run DCD all the time and loved his work enough to donate. right now i'm running Mightymike 4.16 and have been looking to flash another rom. perfect timing.
DCD, thanks for making the move to the Touch Pro.
for those looking for HTC task manager, i'm using the one below. also DCD used GfxBoost in .92, but i didn't see it in .96 or later builds so i included it also.
whoa, it must be really really stripped. it's only 64 mb?

His site is public. If he doesn't want to share it, then he needs to change the website/ftp settings. As far as I know, he hasn't officially "released" it yet. No announcements from him. I tried it, but the mobile internet wasn't working consistently, so I had to go back to mightyrom.
ROM is very fast and stable and data worked fine for me on Sprint. However, the phone would not ring on incoming calls. I checked all the settings I could think of and vibrate works fine but no ring. Flashing to another ROM only because of that. Bummer...
for some strange reason my data goes in and out. i can't seem to track down the cause yet. i'll mess around with it some more. also DCD is using a different build of opera mobile then i'm used to. i just loaded up the newest build i could find and all was well
Edit: here's a link to the opera i used. it's pretty new

Wish List!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just my 2 cents so here we go.
I would like to see the this rom include:
1. Full qwerty keyboard.
2. Ability to turn of flashing light on new txt, email, etc.
3. Random access added
4. On people tab add ability to contact via txt, email or call as only has ability to call now! BOO
5. When viewing txt, email, etc. from said tab, mark items as read removing new count number, without having to launch said app.
thanks in advance!
.96
There's a .96 .exe in the link now......time to flash..
Nate
there are (I think) two apps that are vital for this rom to work great: HTC task manager and GfxBoost. Anyone interested in this rom should us these.
very fast rom...i think faster than yay4jugg which i was using for a few months now.
just needs pagepool changed
opera is set as default. how do i disable it or remove opera.
also noticable fast battery drain.
works on sprint. just need the sprint cab.
DCD has 1.02 up now
This is not at popular as the thread over on ppcgeeks, but there still might be some people that have not seen this yet and that would be a shame.
DCD just posted 1.09. i'm running 1.08 and it's one of the best Pro roms out there. give it a try.

[ROM] WM6.5 23047 VZW Barebones

I have decided to hang up the Titan and pickup an Imagio. So most likely my wm6.5 ROM cooking is over. Sorry....
Build 28011 Now Available
Hey guys. I realize there is not much support for us Titan owners over here. I, myself recently downgraded to a used Titan, not really knowing what was to be expected. I like the device for the most part, but the new ROM support really stinks. Luckily, Joojoobee666 from PPCGeeks has been updating us with the ported XIP from the newest Windows Mobile 6.5 builds.
I prefer to keep my personal ROMs pretty clean and simple. I don't place my name on any screen or accept donations, so please don't ask. I just make them for myself and support will be limited.
These ROMs are for Verizon vx6800. From this point on, I assume you have read the wiki for ROM and Radio upgrades. I am not responsible if your ppc blows smoke.
****Any and all my ROMs will have Verizon carrier built in unless otherwise stated****
Build 28011
I can't tell any difference between this build and 28004/05. Maybe a little snappier? Can't tell as I haven't fully set up my titan. But browsing through wifi, phone calls and sms works. No freeze issues!

TelecomNZ 28011

Build 28004
This build has shown to be the most stable for our Titan ppc. 28002 had sleep issues, along with 28008. 28005 which I am currently using has freeze ups with wifi connections. So I will be flashing back to this ROM that I am posting, unless something better comes out in the next hour.
I think I forgot to add Microsoft Office on this ROM, but all the other usual programs apply. Some of you may have read about the new skin for the winmo keyboard called "msimar." I tried to add this kb version into the ROM with no luck.

Installing and will report back! Tomorrow I get my Touch Pro 2 so this is the last time I play around with this phone. Figure I'd make the most of it.
I just noticed this morning that the WirelessManager(formerly comm manager) button isn't working. To get around this is simple.
Open Total Commander
Open Windows directory and scroll down to wrlsmgr.exe
Tap wrlsmgr.exe once
Press "file" select >>>>>> (A)
Create shortcut
Press Tree-> navigate to start menu in the windows directory
Press ok
Now you can add the comm manager functionality by going to start>settings>personal>buttons
Select comm manager and then select wrlsmgr from the drop down box.
I do some ROMs of my own working with PPCKitchen. How can I get the new WM65 build into the kitchen to cook a new one? I have had a 6800 for about 8 months and love it. Would love it more if I could get the GPS to work. Baby steps.
It's actually pretty simple over all. You will have to create a text file and modify another. Drop the SYS and Common archives into the kitchen folder. Add the new XIP.bin to the Titan core archive's ROM folder. Sounds difficult at first, but one you get it down, it should take less than 5 minutes to add a new build.
Here's a link showing how to add a new 6.5 build to an apache kitchen.

Well done! This is a quick, snappy rom. Why is it that no one puts office in their roms anymore? Also may I suggest a more versatile comm manager and the adding the htc task manager? I understand you are keeping it 'barebones' but just some add ons people may want.
Thanks for sharing and once again well done!

Hmmm, now that I think about it, I haven't seen a wm6.5 rom with office either. I wonder if it is a compatibility issue or if cooks just don't bother with it, because they will be cooking again in a few days when the next build is leaked?
I wish I could come up with a more versatile comm manager. From what I understand, Microsoft is doing away with the comm manager and introducing the wirelessmanager. File names and commands have changed, so the older comm managers that we are accustomed to no longer work.
As for the htc task manager, it is no longer compatible either. As you know, the start, task and quick menu were at the top right corner of the screen. Now that microsoft has moved the start button to the bottom, the functionality of the htc task manager has deminished. I have read that the dotfred task manager still works, but I am not familiar with the app. I can try to cook a new rom with a comm manager and htc task manager, if you want to try it out and see if its true or not. Which comm manager do you prefer?
That is too bad many of the nice convinces we are accustomed to do not work on the new builds.
I do like having office, it comes in handy. It is released in the build and not cooked in after the fact?
I imagine you will agree with me, I think that a task manager on the home screen is essential for our devices. I would be willing to try a htc managaer and comm manager rom.
I like the htc comm manager (originally released for the touch but adapted for our devices).
Thanks!
GPS?
Does GPS work on this ROM "out of the box" or do i need to apply the settings from the wiki after i install the rom?
thanks in advance
I have a 6800 as well and mine has never worked. I have tried all the "patches", radios, tweaks, everything (well clearly not everything). Still no GPS signal. Even took the phone apart to double check the processor version. I am almost convinced mine doesn't have one. If anyone has a suggestion I would love to hear it.
I have Verizon and got my 6800 this year too. I've got mine to work well. I first started by following the old threads. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanRecentHome
I unlocked and downgraded my ROM and used an old radio too. Carefully read the instructions!!!...I used a 2GB micro SD for all the early programming but use active sync today for most ROM/Radio changes.
I also use GPSGate to establish a strong lock-on for IGO8 GPS but do not need it for Garmin XT, TomTom7, or Astro Navigator II.
I do not use AGPS --- I do not use my data plan, just WIFI at home and other locations for GPSWeather and GoogleMaps to work.
I'm hoping this thread and any new updates here will provide at least 22MB free after loading all my software, games, and GPS stuff. Most of these new builds give you 25MB free with more add-on than this build ROM. All of the ROMs I tried, over 16, provide GPS if the radio allows it. I do not know of any newer radios or ROMs produced this year that do not support GPS. I believe your free RAM must be over 20MB to start IGO8 and about 17 MB for the others. If you run ROMs or SW that does not release ram after closing you may never have enough ram for GPS to work.

I do agree about the task manager. While this build has the built in task manager, it is not as convenient as having quick menu in the corner of the home page.
I am building a new rom as I type containing the office apps word, pow point and excel. Also added the htc comm manager and htc task. Also changed the first boot splash screen to an htc splash. I believe that's all I changed. I am not going to flash this one since I am fairly satisfied with the original. But if you would like to try it out, please give us feedback on the comm manager and task manager compatibility issues, if any. It'll be linked to the first post when the rom is built.

He is not talking about a GPS program as he references "settings" in his post bolded above. So he of course knows that 99 times out of 100 a Chef doesnt include a real Nav program in the ROM (maps obviously too large for device memory). Now google maps.. Thats a commonly cooked in application.
Answer is Yes and No for you rmancl. The ROM comes with a gps driver, and is obviously GPS radio required so thats half of it. The other half is making sure your GPS one settings in QPST are accurate for your Carrier and then navigating to this location in the registry to set the Suplagps settings [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\SUPL AGPS\. Other resolutions include installing the various GPS CABs that are out there.

Thanks for the one off brew Mindtrip! I flashed it and have been testing. Office and Comm Manager work perfectly. Comm Manager actually runs much quicker than other roms i have tried. Unfortunately Task Manager does not work as you expected. It is really too bad. I have done some research too and it doesn't appear we have a home screen task manager for this build.
It's a nice simple rom, which makes it nice and quick. Thanks again.

I posted in your thread to help someone having problems with PCM keyboard. I didn't know that threads were marked territorially. I am just here to help others in the best way that I can. You on the other hand, do your very best to make others needing help feel stupid or inadequate. Remember the person who posted about your rom who said something along the lines of" I really dig your rom, I just wish it didn't have your name all over it"??? Remember what you replied to that? You told the guy that he was a peice of dirt. That he is nothing to you!! How the heck can you say that to someone who just said your rom is good?? Your ego is overwelming! Because of that and the other posts you make trying to make yourself sound like god, like the one in this thread is what encouraged me to learn to build my own roms. I don't need you, nor do I care if you exist. But I am not going to tell you that, nor would I intentionally try to make you or anyone else feel like crap for posting an obvious question.
The downloads and donations don't mean anything to me, as stated in the first post of this thread. I have a job, do you? I do this as a hobby. For fun. To help others who may not have a solid understanding of what is going on here. What is your purpose? Develop roms and stroke your ego?

ALee's 6.5.X - Light ROM for the Titan / XV6800

Alee's HTC Titan/XV6800/Mogul ROM - Build 23569
Notes: Your phone must be unlocked. I use Olipro 2.40. You also have to have a GPS radio installed. I use version 3.42.50. Please read up on flashing roms for the Titan if this is your first time. I'm not responsible for you breaking/bricking/making your phone unusable. Use at your own risk!
I will include a Verizon ROM and a Carrierless ROM. Should work with DCD's carrier cabs, but I have no way to test. Please let me know if it works!

6.5.X ROM 23569 - No Carrier - Updated 5/23/10
http://www.4shared.com/file/pxK7WmZh/ALEE23569NCV2.html
This is a WM6.5 ROM for the Titan. I've started cooking a rom for this device because it seems like other ROMs don't update with new builds too often anymore. This 6.5 ROM is designed to be light and useable everyday.
It has 23MB of free RAM in low memory mode, and about 29MB of free RAM in high memory mode(no camera) while using ActiveSync. It runs stable and has 119MB free memory for programs/files.
In order to save memory and resources, some packages have been removed. This means that not all features are available or will not work with this ROM. If it's not included in the ROM, and somebody asks for the feature, I'll do my best to provide a method to install the features in the future.
This is a work in progress, and it's not for everybody. Some things just don't work, but the things that work run well.
I'm going to try to support this ROM as best as I can, but I'm not a pro at this. Alot of my work has been trial and error and reading through the forums to fix my mistakes. I will probably try to keep up with updates until January of 2011, where I'll be able to get a Touch Pro 2 with Verizon's new every two.
The ROM generated thanks to the PPCKitchen.org project. I think it's a great utility that helps a normal person like me cook a custom ROM. Feel free to give their utility a try if you want to cook your own ROM.
Additionally, thanks to all the developers who have publicly provided fixes/patches/updates/programs to the Titan world. Most are long gone and have moved on to better phones, but I wouldn't still be using my XV6800 without their work.

New Version
Updated the ROM today. I cleaned up the Titanium registry entries and it seems to have made the Titanium screen snappier and smoother. I also put in some reg entries that are supposed to help the 6.5 memory leak issues. Seems to work well enough for now.
Calculator Replacement
Since you're already doing a Calculator Replacement, I'd submit that you consider using the program 'Eval' ( www .dl-c.com/PPC/ )
I've been using it for many years going back to pre-phone pdas and I think it works better then the built-in, and possibly better then the HTC version (though I can't guarantee that)
check it out and let me know what you think

Wifi works for me...can you describe where you run into problems when you try to connect?
hello everybody!
Im really new here so i was wondering....
Is there a reason I should be using this ROM instead of Ryan Mogul's WM6.5 light ROM? "forum.xda-developersdotcom /showthread.php?t=496982" (without the space, hyphens and switch the 'dot' with a period .)
Is this one better? Is this one more "up to date" and does it work better than Ryan Moguls WM6.5 light ROM?
THANKX!!!
I've never used Ryan's roms so I don't know what is better or not. It seems that rom is based on an older build of windows 6.5 where mine is built on the newest 6.5.5 build. The newer build has some graphical enhancements that are designed to be more finger friendly (larger buttons, start menu on bottom.)
Based on his include list, it seems like he includes more things in his ROM. I cooked my rom based on having the bare essentials and every user can install his own extras based on their preferences.
The best way to check is to try them both out and see which one is more appropriate for you.
hey i just flashed your verizon rom to my phone, and it didn't work.
Never mind! I got it working! GREAT ROM! THANX BUNCHES!!! Oh and btw, yours is much better than Mr. Ryan Moguls!

Thank you! One thing...
Thanks so much for doing this. I really appreciate getting some new life into an old device, it feels like cheating! Anyway, I have one minor nitpick. I'm a GNU/Linux user, and had trouble opening the archive because .rar is a proprietary format. Would you consider using a zip archive next time? Thanks again!
I will upload the ROM as a zip next time.
