dcd 2 and radio 3.27 - Great Results!! - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

Of all the Roms I've tried so far on the Titan; dcd 2 and radio 3.27 is the best.
GPS is working well. The phone has not locked up or freeze while bluetooth is on; bluetooth is working well Voice Command. Using 65%-70% memory at all times.
Excellent rom dcd - thank you!!
One question: I am current using dcd rom 2 BETA; any changes made that should make me install non-beta???? Thanks.

Provider?
You should say which provider you have with your Titan. Some folks with VZW had issues with authentication or other troubles, some on VZW had no issues at all. So which provider do you have that all is working well, I know I want to know.

And Dcd has now released his 2.1.0 rom with Windows Mobile 6.1...

mine is working pretty good to, Sprint with 2.0.0 Beta. The only real problem I've seen is that sometimes after closing a program thats running GPS the phone gets reeeeeaaaal slow for a minute, or sometimes freezes up.

using sprint; sorry i forgot to mention.

The TELUS one is working flawless. Excelent job. No freez, all option are working ;-) thanks

With the beta it would literally take me about 5 min just to find service....data was real flakey too. Not sure if it was the rom...radio...or what. With the 2.1.0 rom I get services as soon as the device comes up after a soft reset. Data is 100X better for some reason. Anyway....thx!

There is no Java on my phone after upgrading to this rom. I cant install google maps or opera mini. What can I do?

verizon 6800 gps woes

copied and pasted from the gps faq:
hey guys,
im a long time reader and this is me first post here on the forums.
im having an issue with the gps for the xv6800 on verizon. ive read through lots and lots of posts regarding verizon and their gps service, agps and the like. my problem is that i dont ever get a lock, and never see any satalites in the htc gps tool. it just sits there.
ive got
VZW XV6800
Rom: DCD 3.2.0
Radio: 3.42.30
i installed the radio using the sprint official rom, and then put dcd's over that. im using olipro 2.40 and after i put in dcd's rom, i ran the verizon carrier cab. also the arc mms thing but im sure that has nothing to do with anything other than mms.
my gps settings are
com4
4800 baud
and manage automatically.
location mode is set to on.
i dont have tomtom or another commercial program to test, so ive been trying google maps and windows live. google maps tells me my handset doesnt seem to be compatible with my location, and windows live just tells me gps signal lost.
ive let it sit for roughly an hour and some change, trying for a lock, although that is unpractical for everyday use, i just wanted it to lock.
i read on here that other verizon customers gets theirs to lock in minutes, and that would be great for me if i could get that. so im asking, is it just my handset? or have i not done a crucial step in the flashing, programming?
didnt call verizon when i switched phones to reactivate data or whatever, i didnt know what i was supposed to ask them to do, so i just switched phones thru vzw.com and it makes calls and uses the ## codes perfectly. ive dont the *228 ect .
am i just sol? i really would love to have gps back, my previous phone broke, and i used vznav and that was great.
thanks in advance.
try this, and see if it makes a difference:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TitanGpsFix
thank you for the reply but i forgot to mention that i have already applied the gps fix fromt the tutorial. i read somwhere that is persists through flashes, so i have not tried to reapply it after upgrading to the latest dcd.
if it truly does not then i will try to reapply that again when i get off of work
gmaps always says not compatible with my location (it is a feature some phones support that doesn't use gps) - don't use my location, check 'use gps'.... once the gps has a lock my location will send you to that location though....

P4000 upgrading

OK all, I have just read inescpbl's post regarding his unfortunate upgrades, and I'm happy to say I didn't bung things up the same way, but more want to get your thoughts on my P4000's current state, and if there are any further updates that could smooth things over.
Basically, I did the following:
Upgraded bootloader to 2.40
Installed Radio 3.39
Installed No2chem's latest
Nothing worked.
Installed DCD 3.2.3
Installed Radio 3.42.50
Installed Telus CAB to allow for internet
Was able to surf internet and use google maps
Updated programming and PRL with *22803
Now, I can make calls but internet is like a yo-yo, with 90% of the time not working. When it does, Google Maps is unable to receive GPS satellites.
My question is, after all of this, the setup feels buggy. Is there something I have missed or should do?
Thanks in advance to anyone with their 2 cents to spare...
I've never had to update prl. Im with telus too. only thing i've done other than flash new roms is do the GC14 gps fix. Never had a problem with the P4000 being 'buggy' as you say it.

Annoying Call Waiting Sound

Hey,
I know I am not the only one with this problem as others have also posted messages about it. I am so tired of this annoying call waiting sound. I have not had many problems with ROMS that cause me to post a message about it. This one is annoying. It started in DCD 3.2.2. I have had it since. I had 3.2.0 with Radio 3.42.40 and I did not have the problem. I upgraded to DCD 3.2.2 and I all of a sudden had this problem. I also cooked another friends cell who has always been on the stock GPS ROM and he was the one who asked me about it first. It wasn't on every call wait initially but it soon started frequently for me. I then upgraded to 3.2.3 and I also had the problem. I then upgraded my radio to 3.42.50 and I still have the problem. I finally upgraded to DCD 3.2.5 and I have the problem. I dont think this is a radio issue. DCD, could it be my OEMS? I am adding some games, google maps, Sprint TV and YouTube player. Any ideas as to what is causing this?
I'm going off memory on this, but I remember someone saying it was related to the Dialer / Phone Canvas used. Do a little bit of searching if you want more specific info.
I was DCD 3.2.5 Radio 3.42.02
Upgraded the radio recently to 3.42.50, And the sound started. Based on that, I'd say it was the radio, because thats all I changed.... It IS annoying.
Try going to Start>Settings>Phone>Services Tab>Call Waiting>Do not notify.
Its Not the Radio
I am using radio 3.37.20 and am having the same problem. Might be the dialer skin I am currently using a diamond style dialer skin that I love so I will not get rid of it till I can completely not take the sound anymore.

Problem with DCD 3.2.6, Radio 3.42.50, and iGO8 Nav Software

Hey all. I have DCDs 3.2.6 ROM, 3.42.50 radio, and iGO8 navigation software installed on my Verizon XV6800. I can receive and lock GPS in about 5-7 minutes using the Holux GPS Viewer v1.5, however if I lock GPS and navigate using the iGO8 software, if the unit ever loses GPS lock the entire phone freezes up. This happens every time i'm using iGO8 and I go inside, block the GPS signal for a second, etc. Very frustrating to have to pop out the battery every time i'm using iGO8, any ideas what I should look for to troubleshoot?
Thanks.
not sure if astro launcher is compatable with that app but it works great with tom tom and it restablishes a signal when i power down and then back up

How are able to run iGo8 on a 6800? I dont believe there was enough RAM to get it to run smoothly, and it would lock up all the time. Just what I heard over at Ppcgeeks.
Steve
I have the exact same setup and i run iGO8 just fine. Depending on my build or rom that I use, it will load up immediately after install, but since ive been using 207XXX builds, I have to reboot after install. I used to us Astrolauncher, but i have fallen in love with GPS toggle ... especially the latest version that shows the sats on the screen. Sweet!
I run OnCourse8 which is really like iGo8 and it works flawlessly. Either use Baf's GPS Toggle or Astrolauncher to prime for fast locks on a xv6800. I'm also running radio 3.39.10 which seems to work alot better for GPS in my area.

Alltel GPS Help Thread

I think I am having the same problem as everyone else with the Alltel TP GPS. I have absolutely no luck finding satellites in my hometown, yet if I travel out of my hometown I can get signal 99% of the time. I tried locking in while I was driving back from work (Ocala, FL) to my hometown (Sarasota, FL) and it worked all the way to my house. As soon as I turned I turned Google Maps off it couldn't find me anymore.
I have tried all the tricks to make it work including the obvious "turn on my location".
If anyone have a solution that works please let me know. I have heard that if you use the Alltel Nav program then the GPS picks up very well, so there must be something there.
can anyone help?
if you are running stock rom its a little finniky at GPS but if your running a custom rom then its a lot better... also the stock radio seems to be little strange...
if your not running stock what are you running?
do you have quick gps installed?
I am using the stock rom. I am not familiar with other ROMs, I haven't looked into that aspect of it yet. What is the best ROM for an Alltel phone (IYO)? Do the other roms still use TouchFLO? Am a very graphic person, so I like the prettyness of TF3D.
i had problems getting a satellite lock in my home town when i had my 6800 with my tp its much better i am running energy rom found here over at ppcgeeks http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=69545. i really think it just has to do with the area/amount of towers. there has been some discussion about needing gps services turned on on alltels side. Saying that if you sign up for there navigation service they will open up gps and then cancel service(i have never used their service and get gps). It sometimes would take awhile for me to get a lock and then only pick up one or two satelites then out of area i would pick up a bunch. have u tried htc gps tool? also check out visual gpsce. try all different radios too. im curently running the vzw rapael radio found here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46616. once you flash over your alltel radio u will not be able to flash it back stock since the alltel radio has not been dumped yet (something i was not aware of when i flashed). im going to bet though if you unlock your phone and flash a custom rom your gps lock will be better. good luck!
I installed ConFlippers Rom for the Alltel TPs and I like it a lot, but it didn't do anything to help my GPS lock.
Changing doesn't always helps. Conflippers is a great rom because its exclusive for alltel and is very easy to flash because everything works. With conflippers you need to install "htc gps tool". Then once you have it do the following: select "clear memory" ->open for 15 sec.->close->select "cold or warm start" ->open 10 sec.->check nav init.->check your satellites. If you got green then go to google maps or whatever program you are trying to use gps for.
If you would like to try a different rom then sometimes simply cycling the location setting from on to off then back on again or soft reset is in order. Keep your quick gps up to date.
There is not one fix for all gps problems for the t-Pro. You will find a routine that works and it will no longer be a problem. One thing that works 100 percent of the time is with the stock rom, paying for alltel nav will give you locks instantly in any program at anytime.
I'm using Nfsfan's CDMA Touch Pro Rom
I install the Alltel Carrier Cab and MMS cab in my faq
when I flash it to make it work 100% with Alltel.
(mms=Picture/vid messaging)
The link to my faq is in my signature.
Also, in post one of my signature there is a link to a post I've made
describing what's vga compatible and what's not
till I finish getting everything for my TouchPro Faq.

Well, I've had my Alltel Touch Pro for about 6 hours now, so I'm hardly an expert (coming from my eternally flashed and reflashed PPC-6800) but, here's my experience with GPS:
Bought the Touch Pro from the Alltel corporate owned store. Walked outside to my car and got in. Went into the phone settings and turned Location On. Popped my Garmin Mobile XT (bought retail, not cracked) card out of my 6800 and into my Touch Pro. Let it install. Started up Garmin Mobile XT, got on the highway, and within a minute had a nice GPS lock.
Obviously, all on the stock Alltel ROM (no time to look into custom ROMs yet, I've only had it for a few hours!) So I can state that at least in my case the GPS worked fine out of the box without any sort of priming or tweaking. YMMV.
Yea, like I said mine works great everywhere I have been except for my hometown. I can even hook up to my bluetooth GPS receiver and it works great everywhere. Just can't seem to get a connection in (Sarasota, FL).
