very true. On touch dual even flashing another rom wil not reset the call durations! which isnt true for the Touch!!
that is very interesting. unfortunately I am all out of ideas. sorry :\ If hard reset / flashing doesn't reset the count, I don't think there's any other way to do so ...

it just reset the recent call timer not the entire call duration.
just tell you brother you used his phone and offer to pay for the time you used it.. the worst thing that can happen is that he beats you up

hallo,
ofther changing batterey i got the error of a .exe file that doesnt work annymore. Agenda and contacts aint working anymore. Now i want te reset my device but the only thing it does is a soft reset. I tried manny combo's bot nothing works, including power+camera+record+reset, but doesnt work either.
hope you guys can help out.
if you can get into the bootloader you can format the nda / storage or what ever it called it
thats the same as a hardreset
Remember that when you do the power+record+camera+reset buttons, you HAVE TO HOLD ON ALL DEPRESSED FOR AT LEAST 7-10 SECONDS.

doesnt work
sorry mate but it doesnt work, i get a bootscreen like menue but it doesnt woth some settings but i cant controll them. when i go in to normal bootmode and than reset i get no change eather, normaly this will hard reset the device as well.

First I try to find something looks like my problem, but most people can see the collored screen or bootloader.
I can get nothing on screen, only the light!
If I connect the device can read via Active Sync!
What to do!

I can light the screen using PWR and turn off holding it! ( blanc screen only the light) Do you mean I must use the "Tradition (OLD) method" , because I already done it without success! ( The flashing stops at ~70%).

2. better follow steps to the bootloader mode,
3. Plug to PC if you see the 'usb' @ left bottom of Prophet .... good.
4. Flash PVtemp and BE PATIENT ~~~~ IT TAKES SOME MINUTES ~~~~
5. when ready, after Prophet restarts, ONLY CONTINUE THE HARDSPL..... (no touch activesync....)

But I think it must be HW problem!
Because I've flash successfully ( 100%) the prophet using ROMUpdateUtility_NT_G4 but still can't see something on the display!
even this "USB" at the bottom of the screen!
Could be display problem???
Sorry but how to be sure that the HW is O.K.??
I'll try to put the display in another Prophet to see what happens!
But if if works , than ...... ?????
If it's not working you can always try to remove your SIM card and hold Camera button and press ON button....
Now you can see "three colors" screen and USB then you have to flash with NVID(no vendor) AKU2.2 rom .

Hey~~~
1. if you can see your Prophet screen on your PC,
2. HW problem.... 20% of chance to win....
2.1 OPEN your prophet,
2.2 remove you screen, take care to the screen connector, that's a bit fragile, but
just make loose the pin, the screen may be detached very easily.
2.3 power on the Prophet, and put back the screen ( no power off), 20% you can get back the screen display properly.
4. power off,
5. make the Prophet back to one piece.
PS. hope it works for you.

Hi again,
1. I've removed the display veeeery easily (nothing happens with the pin )
2. Found other one prophet and put the display there and it works fine : the display is hale.
3. Follow your instruction I put very carefully the display back in the working prophet : nothing new ! The screen goes white and blanc :-(
4. Go outside and smoke a cigarete to drown my anger!

Plz give us more information about the problem then we can help what do you see on the screen when you try to turn on the phone? when u tryed upgrading your PDA the first time was the charge more then 50% if less it will give a error message.
Read the Upgrade Guide again and look for the Recovery Steps follow that and your problem will be Fixed it worked for me if you cant find the files you need NO_Vendor WM 5 Rom let me know al upload and post the link here for you ok
somehow i menage to turn on bootloader and then the phone was stack there i try to install wm 5 when go to 100% noting happens on the phone after hard reset
then i tray whit wm6 same there go fine on my pc till finish message appear and on the phone go till 100 % and i done hard reset and noting

he is now dead
on pins where should stand battery he show 0 voltage
and i come to dead end

What about 'Master Reset' option in settings where you enter you pin i.e. 1234, press 'reset' and it hard resets the phone? :s

This is if you have a unbootable phone that cant get into windows. the only option is to use this method

yea it erase the nand flash like a format and the the drive is real clean and only toshiba logo is displayed

and do this:
2 Short-Pin unbrick method
1. Copy a functional ROM on SD Card. PRG folder
2. Rename to TG01WP_00.enc
3. Put the battery in and plug Power- Kable. Charging LED flash RED *
4. short pin 1 and 3 (back side under sim card, remove black plastic) Hold the short and RESET. Hold short pin 1 and 3 for 10 sec. Display go on and ROM flash beginn

If a soft reset doesn't work then hard reset, hopefully you installed from a fresh rom flash/hard reset anyway?

I wasn't able to do a Master Reset after Flashing.
OK, so after trying out the last android build from Markinus, winmo is now saving text messages to the SIM.
If I do a 'hard' reset, what will I lose on my phone? (contacts/texts/email setup etc??). Please explain the downside of hard reseting. Thanks! (or basically.. will I need to save/backup anything before hard resetting?)
Also: Will it remove the 'unlock' that I have applied to my phone?
Update: Well I did it anyway. Saved my contacts, but that's about it lol. Hopefully this will get my messages to saving back into memory rather than onto the sim.

a friend of mine has a hero but the calibration seems way off
mos of the times when he touches the screen in the middle and then the notification bar comes down:S
even if he tries multiple times it does it 10 times in a row
i think the screen calibration is off but not sure as i rooted it and put tastyginger on it(as the phone whas still default) but the problem still persist
i did a factory whipe and cache and the dalvik before i flashed it.
will that all make a new touchscreen calibration?
if not how can i make new touch screen calibration?
otherwhise i have to restore it to default and send it in for warranty?
or do you guys/girls think it wont be coverd by warranty
