Also post details of what you were doing when it got stuck.
I have tried Soft Reset & Hard Reset both,but didnt worked.
I have received the phone from customer who says that the hadset hung on its own.

1. Kill ActiveSync process - wcescom.exe on your computer.
2. Attach USB-cable to device.
3. Run programm from attach, select "\\.\WCEUSBSH001" from port's list and click Ok.
4. Type (type himself, not copy/paste) in window:
password BsaD5SeoA(press Enter)
ruurun 0(press Enter)
ResetDevice(press Enter)
just flash the original rom

There is only one fix.... that is hard reset the device without even powering it on .....and please search the forum completely... i have also posted a video on YOUTUBE about this ...!

2) copied the file genehspl.exe to root of my device
3) and my device screen went blank
4) After searching through the forum, i got to know that pressing and holding the camera button and resetting brings up the bootloader screen.
5) Thats it, i am stuck there...

i have a p3400 wid WM5.
upgraded it to WM 6. worked quite well for about 2 months after upgrading to WM6 but now stuck on bootloader screen (red, blue, green).
nothin seems to be workin.
tried everythin, including powercycle, hard reset, soft reset, flashing original rom and everythin. well nothing worked. after 10 days it jus starte again for like 10 mins and now it is back to wht it was.
somebody plsssssss helpppppp.

try to flash it with original stock ROM and get it repaired under warranty thats what i did.....
I have tried the procedure, but even then I am facing the same problem. whrn I reset the device the boot mode do not appear, only black screen. but if I press the Camera button 7 reset the device then the boot mode appears. please help to make my device run. [email protected]

Try power button+camera button together from tri color screen it enables the USB support where u can update original rom

don't panic. getting stuck at the tricolour screen is a common problem.
as for the bml_open error, have u disabled the active sync "allow usb " option?

Read Sticky
Firstly, when you upgrade your device you must be aware of the gene you are using. Is it new gene or old gene?????
Secondly, after knowing your gene you have to Hard SPL your device according to your device. It's kind of unlocking so that you can install third party (non official) ROM.
Then you should be aware of how the procedure to be followed to upgrade your device.
So, stop wasting threads and start reading sticky posts. Many people don't read stick and as a result they brick their device.
Read before you post, there are some members who have upgraded their device successfully with no problems at all and have read sticky post atleast 20 times before upgrading.
So please read sticky to get solution and post your queries in appropriate threads or in GENE question and answer.
Here is the fool proof solution
:start
1. Read the sticky threads
2. Again read the sticky threads.
3. Once again read the sticky thread.
4. Read the sticky thread once more.
5. Read the sticky thread last time, and
6. Start from 1st line again or u can say go to "start"
i m damn sure that this will help u in unbricking the device...

I copied the file to my mobile and after running it, handset restart.

Can any one help? I personally feel that by using shell (mutty cmd> ) it's possible to write on the location? hey geeks! can you give any solution to write the block at the location? or at least how can i jump to OS and move away from the RUU boot loader?
if you are in the tri color boot screen, you can mod your device.
install activesync.
download rom
update on the tri color screen.
you should download Active Sync 4.5 from the site of Microsoft or any other site, then just plug your cable with mobile with tri color screen, or after remove your battery, put it, hold camera button, tri color screen will appear. now run any RUU.exe file (any version of FUSION), your device will automatically reloaded with new OS.

If got this link earlier, I could save 2 weeks of wait for replacement from HTC.
my gene was under warrenty, so i got replacement from HTC. Now i have new gene windows ce 5. My P3400i is now P3400

After finishing flashing the rom it restart alone and stuck on the windows mobile 6.1 boot screen
I made hard rest and the problem persists.
And the sd card not work
Now when it boots appears

Smart mobility
And my htc s/n:Ht807******
And I use Orefkov

but gives me that massage and not make the screen white

bro try this again and jus bfore this wen u connect ur fone to ur pc kill the WCESCOMM.exe by holding ctrl+alt+del
wen u type ls boot.bin(remember its small L not I) hold ur camera button bfore hitting ENTER on ur PC and keep the camera button pressed till u get a white screen

This is your problem, the value should be 00. Your phone is CID Locked so it is not allowing the custom SPL to be patched. The only way to solve your problem is to get the original WM 6 or 5 whatever ROM came on your phone and flash it. This CID lock will only allow official ROMs to be flashed. After you get your phone working, first patch your SPL and then try upgrading your phone to any custom ROM from here. And also, please try to read the tutorials to flashing etc that are sticky posts in this forum before doing these dangerous things to your phone.
WARNING: If your phone came with WM 6 original, find the original ROM and flash it. But if it came with WM 5, you better give it to service center for flashing. Most WM 5 Roms available on forum cause phones to become dead. So flash WM 5 rom if and only if you are certain that its the original one for your particular phone.

That, my friend, i really dont know. Ask Ramerson, he may be able to give you one or may be able to provide you with information on whom to contact. And please, ASK Specifically for a official ROM as you cannot flash custom roms in your current situation.

I flash it before 3 time and it was good
but the last weak I flash it with New Gene Rom by wrong i don't know what can i do i try to flash it from the bootloader it goes to 2% and the Device restart
the service center in Egypt don't support flash the rom they wanna replace the mainboard which is cost me the original device Price

it seems u have a locked spl now so first thing u have to unlock ur spl
gene unbricker not working because it is only for new gene (old gene don't boot from that)

then i think u have 2 options
1 goto service center .(easy)
2 try j-tag method (not easy).
if u wanna try i m attaching jtag method first read the readme file in the zip then think u can do or not.

walid_100......listen h-jtag is so easy methos......don't worry abt it.....it will definately help u to recover ur gene.....i also recovered my gene with h-jtag......
My HTC P3400 is dead. S/N starts with SZ7*****. I can do bootloader mode n tricolor appears on phone n it shows ONBL. 1.10.0000, SPL. 1.10.000 then freezes. When I connect with USB the symbol also shows. I read many threads n gone through the Rom upgrading guide and did all the possibilities, ie. In the Orefkov method, I typed in mitty window "set 32 1" then press enter, then it shown:

Clear image temp buffer done .

Error : DownloadImage return error (code = 0xFFFFFFFF)

Nothing was happened on the phone. The tricolour still appears.
I run ROM Update Utility (3.12.3.5) and the image version showing blank and after updating it is showing 1.00.000.0. When press the Next button, a progress bar appearing on the phone. After 2% progress, the phone turned off completely. Also the following message appearing on the PC: ERROR [270]: UPDATE ERROR. The image file is corrupted. Please check your Update Utility.
I did both soft n hard reset but nothing happening.
Any chance to recover my HTC? .... Please help

Its not that phone is dead...
Please use paper or something for battery. one of the pin is unable to touch power line.
I had similar problem when i owned phone.
Do it and make sure..
If it doesnt help then try to flash everything again.... instructions in noobs guide
g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = FF means your phone is locked......spl is not unlocked......how can u update roms b4 unlocking spl.....now u can go for J-tag only.....its the only way to get back your gene......!
