Sync Conflict: going through the motions WMDC 6.1 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

I installed embroidery software for my Bernina. I immediately received a message stating I had to update the drivers in WMDC before the software could finish installing to 6.1. Since that time, my device goes through the motions of syncing. I can look at the files on my device. eWallet syncs, but nothing else. On the device, I have the following message:
Result: There has been a change made on your server that requires you to resynchronize al items on your device. Please perform a manual sync.
Please tell me a work around other than rewriting the entire device!

whoa
Amazing the problem is mentioned on at&t board, but no one here has ever had it happen. The at&t fixes have not worked. The fix in the guide to updating the device has not worked. Sigh.

I have a 8525 and sometimes would like to think myself as somewhat dangerous with my knowlege of WM software and flashing, but I have no clue!!

I am assuming that you are talking about syncing to a PC with XP. If that assumption is correct, try deleting and recreating the partnership with your device.
With the device disconnected, in Activesync:
File > Delete Mobile device.
Also be sure you have the latest AS client on your PC.

No USB sync ;(

Suddenly, by USB sync is gone. I can BT ActiveSync and serial, but no USB. I am sure it's something in software, because after hardreset it recognized via USB again.
Any ideas?
TIA
little help
 I had the same problem twoweeks ago ,and I realized that from some strange reason one small application repllog.exe (located in windows directory) is not activated anymore. This aplication activates USB communication, and when you run this manually -active-sync will work. However I dont know how to fix this problem to run it automaticcaly, but -i don´t want it eather, because of I´m using connectionto internet through GPRS of my XDA2 (WModem+HTC USB modem driver+USB modem dialer) and automatic sync via ActiveSync makes collision in communication (blocking USB port)......
From M$ site:
PRB: ActiveSync May Stop Responding or May Not Connect After Many Soft Resets
SYMPTOMS
If you soft reset Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 for a Pocket PC device or for a Pocket PC Phone Edition many times, the device may stop responding when you synchronize with Microsoft ActiveSync through a serial cable or a USB cable. Infrared transfer speeds are not affected.
RESOLUTION
Hard reset your Pocket PC device. For more information about how to perform a hard reset, see your device documentation.
MORE INFORMATION
Restoring an ActiveSync backup may not resolve this problem if the backup was made when the problem existed.
To reproduce the problem, perform a soft reset several hundred times.
I've root it down this problem to notifications queue. Memmaid apprently killed repllog.exe, as mcmills correctly pointed out.
I also recently encountered this problem. I cannot, however, find repllog.exe.
I even usedthe search function but the file is just not there. I am an
experienced user and I do not remember deleting anything.
By the way, I'm using Windows 2000 SP2.
repllog.exe
For>ahro
this file is not in PC, but in XDAII, so you need to look there: XDAII_root\Windows\repllog.exe ....

Why Can't I get ActiveSync to work in WM6

Prior to upgrading my Advantage X7500 to WM6 it synchronized with both WinXP and Vista w/o a problem. Since I upgraded to WM6 I've had virtually no success getting my X7500 to sync with either OS. Must be a setting I've got messed up or something. I'd welcome suggestions to resolve this.
Try to go on setting connection usbtopc and disable advanced network functionality and ok
Thanks -- I tried that but it had no effect. Even did a hard reset and was able to get it to sync to Win XP (very slowly) but when I restored my backup I'm stuck again with it sitting w/o syncing, or giving a synchronization error. Problem is there's no help when this happens -- just the troubleshooter but that doesn't find anything wrong.

stupid question perhaps but are you using the latest Activsync?
Wm6 doesn't work with A/S on older versions, though if you could sync very slowly this is unlikely to be the problem.
It could be that one of the programs you are attempting to re-install is incompatible with WM6, or that the backup file (if you are using software other than A/S to reinstall your data) is corrupted in some way, though I'm not techy enough to know the ins and outs of this
If you have all your data backed up somewhere and haven't tried this already then uninstall Activsync from your pc and then delete the activsync folder from your program list:this folder contains the windows mobile drivers and would otherwise remained regardless of A/S being uninstalled. It worked for me when I couldn't get my Hermes to sync - though I've had no problems with the Athena (touch wood!)
Also have you tried on a different PC?

Thanks for your detailed suggestions:
I've narrowed the issue down to syncing the calendar -- sometimes tasks and contacts sync -- the rest seem OK. I've searched MS forums and KB for the Support Code 86000107 that continually pops up when I try to sync in AS 4.5 -- to no avail.
Yes, I'm using Activesync 4.5 in WinXP and the WMDC (latest) in Vista -- I have the same problem in both. And I have tried AS 4.5 in another computer running XP -- same issue. What is bothersome is that I did not have this problem when I had the shipped WM5 version that came on the Athena, only since I upgraded the rom to WM6.
I ended up trying to hard reset and see if that would eliminate the problem -- it did improve the syncing (before I couldn't get it to sync anything, just sat there searching) but now I have this problem with the calendar (skips right over the contacts, calendar and tasks -- then syncs the other items).
I did a scanpst to find and repair any errors in my outlook file (there were some). I removed AS, deleted the AS folder as you suggested, reinstalled -- no change.
At this point I'm baffled -- obviously the phone is only marginally useful so I'm going to switch back to my Hermes for the moment. I just don't know where to look for possible solutions -- maybe when the "official" WM6 rom for the Athena is released on Wednesday, that will be different??? But, since my problem seems to be unique to me, I doubt it.
Thanks again -- I appreciate you help. Any more suggestions are certainly welcome.
It sounds as though maybe your outlook pst file is hosed. You might try...
Export your entire outlook data file to another pst file. Don't just move the pst file. make sure you export it (export file pick pst)
Delete everthing in your outlook data file on your pc and pda.
Sync your pda with an empty outlook file. If that works Then import your pst file from above to your pc and try to resync your PDA
sometimes this works when the pst file on the pc is somewhat corrupt...
Good Luck.
IS your tytn syncing ok with the same setup? Tytn wm6 or wm5?

That seemed to solve the problem -- apparently, all my pst files were corrupted, perhaps from having synchronized them among the various drives I have them stored on. Fixed one with scanpst, then followed your recommended steps and I now seem to have a new pst file that does synchronize with my Athena.
Thanks for your help. I "hope" my problem is solved!!
BTW -- found that my Hermes would not sync either -- that confirmed the suspicion of the desktop pst file being corrupted.

I have a x7500 bought off ebay but cannot activesync
I have a x7500 I bought off ebay but cannot activesync I have tried both usb and bluetooth but no luck. with USB the computer does not even see the device only charges it. with bluetooh I can ftp files and send notes, and contact info, but when I tried to bluetooth activesync the x7500 does not see the partnership, also when I go the bluetooth configurations on the computer to quick connect on bluetooth serial ports and select the x7500 it says the device does not support it.
I have tried changing the usb-pc off and on and no difference. I have even installed the usbsettings.exe and nothing also. I also have hard reset the device nothing is working. Any Ideas.
computers are xp (all threee of them) and the device is WM6
ROM AP TOUCH 3.0

Scanpst is completely hidden in Office 2007 and very hard to locate in Vista. Once I did find it and ran it, it appears to have cleaned up a lot of problems. It does no good for WMDC to tell you it has found an error as there is not even a hint as to where the problem lies. It just goes ahead and replaces all the files on your device with the ones on the computer (or vice-versa depending on your settings). I'm hoping this fix of about 134 problems in my pst file will keep things going for a while.

I am having the same problem with my work computer (XP). Everything syncs fine on my home computer (Vista). I upgraded my rom to DCD 2.2.1 ROM, and I keep getting the 86000107 error.
At work, we are using Outlook 2003/Exchange. I've created new profiles, uninstalled/reinstalled AS 4.5 countless times. I closed out the exisitng PST file..
I am stumped.
I'm trying it on a new computer tomorrow to identify where the problem lies. Anyone have any thoughts?
Similar problem solved
I had the same problem and went through many steps like those posted in this forum. I'm going to show my steps to solve this problem without hard reset your phone.
1) When the phone is connected, at the phone ActiveSync setting delete the PC profile.
2) Unplug the phone from the PC.
3) Uninstall and then reinstall the ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Center.
4) At phone system setting -> About -> make sure there is a name ID. Without this the PC cannot identify the phone and thus cannot sync.
5) Set the USBtoPC with 'advance network..." enabled.
6) To the extreme, before step 3, go to PC windows\inf and remove infcache.1 (need to add in an administrators account and set the privilage to full control). That may remove old corrupted drivers.

[Q] I've searched and searched with no success re Windows Mobile Device Center

As you can see, I'm a Senior Member; however, I've been "away" for a few months. I had an HD2, which was stolen. After reverting back to an old Nokia to get me through the "tough times," I bought a Telus HTC Desire (running Android 2.1) and had it unlocked.
This was my first time using Android. It's a nice operating system, but I simply cannot do many things I used to be able to do with my HD2. So, two weeks later I bought a new HD2. I still have the Desire if anyone's interested. It's in perfect condition, but that's not my reason for writing these words.
I've searched and searched and searched the forums with no avail. It has to do with Windows Mobile Device Center and error messages when I try to sync my HD2 with my PC.
Okay, I'll try to provide as much detail as possible.
First, I DO NOT USE EXCHANGE. I have only one email address set up using POP, and it works. I can get and send mail without a problem.
However, everytime I attach the HD2 to my PC via USB cable, Windows Mobile Device Center automatically starts the sync process. Sadly, though, I ALWAYS get the following error message: Exchange Activesync encountered an error ... blah, blah, blah, and nothing syncs.
Then, if I leave my HD2 connected, when the next automatic sync begins, there's no problem (most of the time). My Calendar and Contacts sync well.
I ONLY sync my Calendar and Contacts. Nothing else!
I've tried virtually every solution I've found on the Internet without success. I've tried syncing just one of the two items, either just the calendar or just the contacts, and then go back to both, but that does nothing to solve the problem.
I'm simply losing my mind with frustration. I cannot get that "darn" error message to stop. I simply want my device to sync with my PC (running Windows 7 64-bit). Yes, I'm using Windows Mobile Device Centre 6.1 for 64-bit systems. Yes, I've tried uninstalling it and re-installing it ... but still no success.
I've tried remove the partnerships and starting over again, but the same error message occurs.
HELP, HELP, HELP!
I've been a member here for quite a long time and have found this site to be the "cream de la cream" of sites for HTC phones. I'm hoping someone can help.
Thank you,
Peter
Anybody?
Hmm, it's been several days with a reply to my original post below. Has no one else had this problem?
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Peter
only advice would be performing a hard reset if you havent done it yet.
maybe it can help...

Already did a hard reset ...
I already tried a hard reset, but I still have the error issue.
Hmm.
Have you tried:
Try running the command below in a Command Prompt with admin privileges:
regsvr32.exe %Windir%\system32.exe\ole32.dll
Press Enter.
Reboot your computer.

In response to your question, I ran your suggested command in a Command Prompt, but without success. I kept getting the following error message”
The module “C:\Windows\system32.exe\ole32.dll” failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files. The specified module could not be found.
On a related note, pardon my ignorance, but what does it actually mean when someone says "with admin privileges?" I bought my laptop, I own it, no one else uses it, I have not set up anything special concerning more than one user since I have been and always will be the sole user of my laptop, so can I automatically assume I have admin privileges? If not, how can I change this, and why would I not have admin privileges? How can I confirm if I do or don't have admin privileges?
Thanks,
Peter

[Q] Zune shows 0M for Total Storage

I have a Lumia 710, did downgrade to Dload (asks to format drive when plugged into computer in OSBL mode), installed latest Rainbowmod, sim-unlocked, etc.. In the end however, I decided to stick with the stock 7.5 rom since it seems to be faster, so I downloaded the rom via Navifirm+, and installed it using Downloader.
Now, things are fine, except Zune is having problems connecting with the phone. It recognizes the phone, can do sync and file transfers and such, but it can't read the storage properly.
Total storage and Available storage both show 0M.
Due to this, the App Deployment tool from Microsoft does not work, because it cannot connect to the phone (It worked before the issue came up). Windows mobile center also can't connect to the phone, etc.
What is the cause to this and is there a fix?
I've recall reading somewhere about Rom/Baseband mismatch and such..
Sorry if this issue was brought up already by others, but doing forum searches didn't give back much.
Edit:
Problem fixed.
Went through the support pages on the Microsoft site, ended up downloading a program called Microsoft Fixit (MicrosoftFixit50577.msi), which basically just deletes Zune for you, then opens a webpage with the download link for Zune. Not so much of a "fix" I'd say. Anyways, it's Zune 4.8, and the package is 170mb, which is actually different compared to the one found on the XBox section, http://www.xbox.com/en-CA/Live/Partners/Zune. This one is only around 100mb in size.
However, I didn't want to download the 170mb package due to slow internet, so I just ran the old 100mb Zune package, installed it, plugged in the phone, and noticed that drivers were installed.
Everything perfect now. I guess it's still the drivers that are messed up.
I'm pretty sure I've tried re-installing Zune before and not fixing the problem. Maybe the Fixit program is a cleaner uninstall which gets rid of the drivers as well.
Note: The Fixit program complained under Windows 8 about unsupported platform, and does not do it's job. Booted up Windows 7 (dual boot is the way to go..), and it works fine.
Note2: Running the program in compatibility mode under Windows 8, the programs works OK.
Edit 2:
On my Windows8, I deleted the driver called "Nokia Phone USB" (I think), and Zune detects the storage properly now.
I had this issue.
I just went into HELP in zune software(upper right corner next to Sign In etc..)
From there i just looked for : "Computer doesn’t recognize your device on the Zune Software" - it's the 8th thing from top to bottom.
from there I just followed their steps and if that wouldn't resolve my problem,i would just hit the NO button, and they would tell you something else to try.I ended up downloading a software from them, that finally resolved my problem.
Best of luck !
If you have trouble into following that I've just said, just PM me.
You need to uninstall the drivers that came with navifirm. They prevent zune from properly interacting with your phone.

Thanks! This fixed the problem on my Windows 8. I deleted the driver called "Nokia Phone USB", and Zune detects the storage properly now. Can't recall if the driver came from Navifirm though, can't remember.
Had the same problem on Windows 8 after upgrading my Lumia to 7.8 with Navifirm and Nokia Care Center. I uninstalled the drivers that came with Navifirm and it worked fine again

Samsung USB driver problem error incompatibility with Microsoft MTB Driver -- Fix

Guys / Gals
I was able to fix my problem of not being able to connect my phone, a Samsung Note 3, and the error I got was from Microsoft MTP. I believe it is Media Transport Protocol. I searched for days; this was a pain in the neck problem. iPhone users seem to have the same issue. I have seen a couple of solutions suggested here on XDA, but they did not work for me. One solution advised to remove the drivers via Windows, mine is Win 7 btw, Devices and Printers screen, they stated to make sure to check the remove driver checkbox. But MTP does not have any such checkbox that I see in my setup. Maybe we are different Windows versions or something. Regardless, what worked for me was to reinstall Windows using the Upgrade option right after you select install. This procedure does not usually damage your personal files; but like every other post here:
1- Do back up everything.
2- I am not responsible for any damaged files, computers, anything.!.!.! Ok?
I backed up my files on an external drive. The only thing I had to reinstall was VMware Workstation 11, and afterwards I was able to launch it fine. In fact I am typing this post from the Ubuntu guest within the restored Win 7. During the install I noticed Windows took some time "repairing .Net". So maybe folks who have more knowledge of Microsoft products can look into this as a quicker fix?
After you are done, test your phone's connectivity and if it is working, create a restore point as soon as the install is done since Windows is going to install a slew of updates right after. You can label restore points something like "Phone Driver Works" or anything else, which implies a successful milestone.
Send me an email if any of this is unclear. I am so glad this is fixed for me. I'll post some of the links, which helped me figure this out.
