netfront v3.5 browsing better than opera 9 on wm6.1 - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 ROM Development

just to let you know netfront v3.5 browsing (fast and smooth for 195Mhz processor and given pathetic-ram of prophet) better than opera 9 on wm6.1 its speedy and takes less memory. anyone has more better browsing experiance with other browsers could also tell in this thread.

operamini is the best of the best.

opera mini i installed a jar jad version but it do not uses wifi ,it uses gprs instead ,may be i need a direction or a link to the one which you use and which let wifi be also used

I use Operamini 4.0
And I can use wifi to go online.
But netfront v3.5 is also good. Iris Browser is also good too.

thank you i checked mine is opera 1(jad jar) may be thats why it does not use wifi .
plus i got this info
mostly opera 8.5 for ppc in a full fledge browser with almost all the functin of desktop counterpart...and opera mini is a proxy server based browser with some limited capability....opera mini use a middle server to process ur request and then it compress the webpage u requested before sending it to ur phone...in other hand opera 8.5 for ppc doesn't use any proxy server of mid server it work with direct connection to the web server...
as a result generelly opera 8.5 is slow to load the pages when opera mini load a page faster..(as it compress the data before loading) but opera mini doesnt support all the bell and wishtel of a complet web browser...
finally if u want a browser with a high speed and clean and user friendly then go 4 opera mini but if you need all the functions such as opening two pages at a time oo support for flash of java then go for opera 8.5 or netfront...
i can't guess till now what does netfront v3.5 use.

there's the way for opera 8.5 ppc version to act like opera mini...remaining all of its functions...("compress the webpage u requested before sending it to ur phone")
opera mini uses passkey to connect to its compressing middle server...all u have to do is to obtain this passkey and to configure your 8.5 to connect through proxy to middle server. (by the way...the same can be done for desktop opera...good method for those who are short in internet traffic)
sorry for my bad english guys ))

opera 8.65
i use opera 8.65 for WM5 or 6 or apa la gitu.. (2779) until now its ok ok aja tuh... if u want to request, i'll give u "complete",hehehhee...
* upload 1st, maybe after this post,hehhee...

ROM date : 7/01/08
Radio version : 02.19.21
Protocol version : 4.1.13.09
ExtROM version : ShadoW 2.0 TE

thanx i have opera 8.65,opera 9.5, i dont have "apa la gitu" and i also do not have opera 4 java version, which i desperatly need to give a try ,before i finally declare netfront v3.5 as the winner.

Best browser in my opinion is operamini v4 (which i am using). It is also easy to install. Just open on your mobile the current browser you have and put on address line www.operamini.com and then just download (it small and fast).

i got opera mini 4 from website 2 questions
1. is this free
2. do we have to put some wifi port address cause still it can't access internet via wifi, the progress bar is taking ages here to open nothing .[SOLVED] thanx.
used it , i miss tabs and image quality ,a sacrifice for prophets pathetic-RAM

I use only NF 3.5 its far far best.
No to IE , no to Opera.

well i recoment you not to download operamini from the website. just from your existing browser write on address bar www.operamini.com and follow the instructions and your done. its easy.

how about mozilla firefox mobile --> MINIMO ?? hehehee...

i think the best browser is opera mini....

Don't say Minimo. Last time i used it, .5 , it was crap. Only time ever I prefered IE to Firefox. Must say, I'll try operamini, but PSP has better browsing to Opera, and PSP browser is based on NetFront, so I'll give that a whirl. When I get around to flashing CloudyFa's New rom.

At operamini.com is also a beta (4.1) available with new features.
There are two download files:
Standard Opera Mini 4.1 beta JAR (116 KB)
Standard Opera Mini 4.1 beta JAD (4 KB)
1. What is the difference between them.
2. I installed the program, and to run it, it seems to be I need to first start:
Esmertec Jbed, and within that I can launch opera.
Is it also possible to start Opera directly without starting this javalauncher?

reason why opera mini quit on windows 6.1

hi, i found a solution and reason why opera quits esmertec java on windows 6.1 (tested on cloudyfa and gullum's rom).
if i set my own regional preferences (in my case Polish) then i can't launch operamini, if i set back to default english - opera works fine.
can anybody confirm that?
ps. i know that opera works fine on older version of jbed but there is no smooth scrolling

TRY "JAVA MANAGER" http://v-dog.net/XDA/Esmertec JAVA Manager.cab, to see if you can run that smoothly without "sudden quit!"

On Cloudyfa 19701 with Esmertec and Polish regional settings ...
Try not to install Polish versions. I have English Opera Mini and works like a charm. Got problems with Google Mail - couldn't even install - untill I decided not to use Polish version. English version wokrs with no problem.

sorry for the late reply..
1. OperaMini 4.2 version signed and trusted,
2. Jbed version ID = 20090216.5.1
Is it working? (should work actually... )
It works great. I can perfectly login to a lot of different websites and Opera Mini is really fast. Only 2 problems:
a) After the installation, phone has to be restarted.
b) Icon is missing.
c) There's a new folder "Multimedia" with Opera Mini shortcut, while it is already in main menu.
And at the bottom of Opera Mini there is only of pixels falling of the screen, but I don't care about that. Tested on Bikertibi WM6.5.3 build 28014 Prophet ROM.
I fixed the above problems. I used the Opera Mobile 10-icon and removed Multimedia folder. Works really perfect on WM6.5 now.
You can find the custom CAB here

Today reverted back to Windows Mobile 6.1 on my Prophet and I haven't got Opera Mini working with icon.
It works flawlessly, even faster than in WM6.5, but on both your & my version, the icon is missing. I know WM6.1 doesn't support the way I set the icon for WM6.5.
Folks, Opera released a native version of Opera mini, no need to use jbed anymore ;]

After flash with your ROM, get about 20Mb Free RAM. Add SPB Mobile Shell, with 2GB MemCard plus other application, its about 13Mb Free RAM.
Can't replace battrey taskbar with percent battrey.
All function work on mine, tomorrow will give another review after finished all seting.
Thanks for your great ROM

Dude... I'm quite interested in what you install after hard-resetting... The RAM load in your device seems to be pretty heavy.
When I was a newbie of official and medkid's ROMs, I installed a lot of softwares as well. But now I keep my device from those which are seldom used(just storing them), and use the default applications as often as possible. For instance, I used WkTask very often before using WM6.5 ROMs, but since WM6.5 consume too much RAM space, I decided not to use WkTask any more; instead, I use the default Task Manager now(assigned to the hardware button of Record).
Actually, to release much RAM space, I use WM6.1 themes when I'm using WM6.5. Besides, I disable the default lock screen and Titanium. Those let me get about 20 MB in WM6.5 system. Nevertheless, the Start Menu is an annoying cause of RAM consumption...
But I still advise you to use WM6.5 instead of WM6.1, 'cause user interface & scrolling engine are not the only improvements of WM6.5. The codes of WM6.5 are much optimized. Some new functions, e.g. widgets & Office Mobile 2010, are exclusive for WM6.5.

1. On your Atom Life, go to Setting ==> Connection ==> USB to PC then select Mass Storage Mode, then connect to your PC / Notebook
2. Format your Memory Card FAT only
3. After you download New ROM, extract file AL1.DIO to your Memory Card
4. Make sure you have 70% off batt on your Atom Life
5. Press Record Button, then tick your reset button with stylush. WAit till percentage count, then you can release record button.

I use Microsoft My Phone for backing up SMS and PIM, and Windows Live for backing up contacts.
I haven't used other backup software since a long time ago... So I can't suggest any. By the way, I remember that you can just copy the cemail.vol and pim.vol file in the root of the File Explorer. That equals backing up you SMS and PIM.
Quick check: SD Card needs to be less than 1 Gig for this?
I've been on WM5 for always on an Atom Life and I think its time for a change.
Updated Screen Picture
After try and try with many software to improve My Atom Life with your Clean ROM, I get about 15Mb free of RAM. Last try disable auto Keyboard change.

Hello
If your after a browser with good abilitys to read things like embed.codes and widgets then I'd recommend dolphin browser HD.
Sorry it dose not have flash player but its the best for my phone ( which is the LG Optimus T )
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App

No Opera 11 for us mate. WM 6.5 is dead in the watter. My only hope lies with XDAndroid ! Support the project
Download Opera Mobile 11 (Windows 7)

Android Version
Thank you for your prompt reply.
So my only solution to run Chrome it is to move to Android
Will you please advice me how difficult it is to install maybe a dual boot
in an HTC HD2.
I´m not an expert but I think that I can follow a set of steps to implement the Android 4.0 .
