WeatherWallpaper 0.36 Nov25,2008: For S2U2. New version for Manila2D Weather! - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

A mortscript that changes s2u2 wallpaper based on current weather condition. Now there is support for Weatherpanel, HTC Weather, and the original Yahoo feed (based on notiweather script)
FOR INFO ON ANIMATED WALLPAPERS, see post #4 (but if you don't have this installed already, finish reading this first post first!)
post #4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2182530#post2182530
I wanted a way to change the wallpaper of s2u2 wallaper based of the weather forecast.
Since Schettj has created such a fantastic script to user Userweather without a weather app (feed from yahoo), the easiest way for me to start was just build on this, so many thanks to schettj for building a fantastic script.
I have now added scripts for Weather Panel and HTC Weather support that doesn't require data connection. (except for the WP and HTC weather application update itself) Please note that since HTC weather does not autoupdate, there will be times of discrepancy between what htc weather shows and s2u2 wallpaper show. In other words, after you manually update HTC weather, s2u2 wallpaper won't reflect this until the next time the script is scheduled to run (which depends on delayhour variable). This is why I was never crazy about writing a version for HTC weather. For weatherpanel version it is best that you set weatherpanel application to update more often or same as the WeatherWallpaperWP.mscr script.
Create a folder that have 48 wallpapers in jpg from 0.jpg, 1.jpg...47.jpg corresponding to the different weather forecast icons. Or use one of the wallpaper set I have below.
Notiweather link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358952
S2U2 link:

Sample Customizations
1. Also, to display current , high and lo temp in notiweather change the weather line to this:
weather="C|"&code&"| "&temp&"º H"&hitemp&"º\L"&lotemp&"º"
There should be about 5 or 6 spaces between &code&"| and ", but I don't know why it is not displayed correctly.
(Edit: Current version implements this already)
2. I believe animated gifs would be possible if you change the part in bold again above from ".jpg" to ".gif" and fill the folder full of gifs.
(Edit: On current version, just change the wallpapertype variable at the top to = ".gif" instead of ".jpg", make sure to include quotes)
Update: WeatherWallpaper0.36 now also has version for Manila2D Weather (look for the Weather_WallpaperM2D0.35.mscr script). See the replies below for "u" version.
Update: WeatherWallpaper v0.36 (yahoo only): line 176 fixed with missing ")"
Update: WeatherWallpaper v 0.35 and .35u
A slight modification to the script that will hopefully fix some of the refresh issues. I have ran this for a week and have not encountered coming out of standby without S2U2 lock screen coming up. Please let me know how it goes for you. I also have made a new naming convention. The "u" version refers to the version of the script which will display Last Updated time (like the old v.33). Again, this "u" version will be posted on the third post like before. Thanks goes out to Holmann.
Update: WeatherWallpaper v0.33
I also made a version of WeatherWallpaper for HTC, Yahoo, and Weather Panel that displays the last updated time (version .33). This can be found on the third post on this page. If you don't want the last updated time displayed, then use the version on this first post. Update v.33b: got rid of the extra 0 bug ie 007:30
Update: WeatherWallpaper v 0.32
- don't use v.31, there's a bug. Please use v0.32 for WP only.
Update: WeatherWallpaper v 0.31
- small bugfix. on WP version only, at night slide forecast may display -9999
UPDATE: WeatherWallpaper version 0.3
- contains updated versions for Weatherpanel and Yahoo. HTC version is unchanged.
- updated versions for WP and Yahoo now has a new variable slideforecast:
slideforecast=0 (default) no change to slide2unlock text
slideforecast=1 slide2unlock text will display daily forecast (match lower left icon if s2u2 weather is set to userweather)
slideforecast=2 slide2unlock text will display current condition (match wallpaper)
Please note this feature is for S2U2 v 1.02 or higher (preferably 1.05 or higher). Do not change the slideforecast variable if you are running v 1.01 or less.
Please note if you change slideforecast to 1 or 2 and then decide to change back to 0, the display will not automatically revert back to whatever it is you have ( ie "slide to unlock"). You will have to change it back your self using this utility by l3v5y or through registry edit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2264560&postcount=923
WeatherWallpaper version 0.2:
- Now contains three scripts, WeatherWallpaperYah0.2.mscr (for standalone use getting weather data from yahoo feed), WeatherWallpaperWP0.2.mscr (for WeatherPanel), and WeatherWallpaperHTC0.2.mscr (for HTC Weather). You only need one of these scripts!
- Two new user settings at the top of the script:
# folder containing your weather wallpaper
wallpaperfolder = "\storage card\my documents\download\wallpaper\weather\"
# wallpaper type jpg or gif
wallpapertype= ".jpg"
- Display is now set at Current temp followed by High and Low temp, but only if you select Userweather in S2U2. For example:
80º H86º\L71º
- Also, it now only writes into registry and "update" s2u2 if the current condition has changed, avoiding too many s2u2 updates, which can cause some delay in s2u2 sometimes.
- Please note that the wallpaper by default is based on current condition (ccode) while the lower left icon is based on forecast (code), so it may not be the same sometimes. i did this on purpose because, with current conditions, the wallpaper will change more often, like 3-4 times a day, giving it a nicer effect. If it was forecast it would chnage like 1-2 times a day.
PocketWeather users: rifraf1 has written a script that supposedly works with PocketWeather. However, I will not be supporting this since I don't have PW installed, but feel free to try. See this link. Thanks rifraf1!!

Wallpaper Update
There are now three sets of wallpaper to choose from. My original vision was to use natural appearing wallpapers that shows the weather forecast. Obviously it has been hard to find for all 47 situations. I have about 10 or so and have filled up the remainder using Bliss Alive for WAD from Doreen at Lakeridgesoftware.com forum. This is now called Wallpaper MyCombo0.3.zip.
It appears that some or most of your would rather us use a more related computerized graphic set, so i have also included the complete set I made from Bliss Alive from Doreen. This is called Wallpaper Bliss Alive.zip. See pics from post #6 below.
Update 5-27-2008: Bliss Alive 0.3 is posted. Cleaned up the graphics for nicer look on PPC.
There is a third set which is a modification of Bliss Alive made by Bob_55 from SBSH forum. This is called samurize.zip. See post #5.
You can mix or match the jpgs.
Still waiting for someone to step up and provide a complete set of animated gifs. I have seen some but not enough to make a set.
Installation
1. download one of the wallpaper set below and extract and place in any folder you like.
2. install mortscript 4.1, and s2u2 at least v 1.01
3. download WeatherWallpaper0.2.zip and extract the three mscr files: WeatherWallpaperYah0.2.mscr (for standalone use getting weather data from yahoo feed), WeatherWallpaperWP0.2.mscr (for WeatherPanel), and WeatherWallpaperHTC0.2.mscr (for HTC Weather). You only need one of these!!
4. edit the .mscr file of your choice with Notepad on PC and change the following data:
wallpaperfolder (where your weather wallpapers are located from #1 above)
wallpapertype (jpg or gif, leave as ".jpg" if using any wallpaper set from here)
For Weathepanel and Yahoo versions only also change:
units (f or c, fahrenheit or celsius)
location (where you are located, see http://developer.yahoo.com/weather/ on finding your location)
delayhours (how often you want it to update)
5. save this mortscript and transfer to ppc in \windows\startup\
6. tap to run it or soft reset. you should see data activity (in yahoo version)
7. see links for notiweather and or s2u2 for further details
Troubleshooting
There appears to be issues arising espceially when using custom Roms or foreign language users. this script was written under the presumption that s2u2 was installed in standard location as well as weatherpanel (if you are using that). If you are having these issues try these two helpful posts:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2273219&postcount=144
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2271849&postcount=139
If you are using the latest Mortscript 4.11b you may have issues as well. Or you unit may be looking to connect to "Internet" instead of "The Internet". Look at this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2279195&postcount=160
If you cannot get the forecast to show on the slider (and the registry info is correct), see this thread (thanks Holman):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2547257#post2547257
Thanks:
Schettj for original notiweather script
alanlsmith for the WP script version. His original version is on page 4 of this thread.
toniolol for help with HTC weather script

here are wallpapers i have so far (taken from pocketpcscreens.com)
2nd to last pic is screenshot including forecast on slide bar (optional)
in last pic, screenshot shows slide bar removed altogether leaving only forecast/summary
see this link for how:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2314286&postcount=212

I also made a version of WeatherWallpaper for HTC, Manila2D, Yahoo, and Weather Panel that displays the last updated time (version .33). On the WP version only, there is a humidity variable now. However, if you use this humidity or make any changes to how the data is displayed, then you need to change this appropriately (WP only):
oldmax =SubStr(curweather,-23,2)
oldmin =SubStr(curweather,-18,2)
If you don't know what I mean by this, then i recommend you change this:
If ( maxtempf = -9999)
maxtempf = oldmax
maxtemp = oldmax
EndIf
#
If ( mintempf = -9999)
mintempf = oldmin
mintemp = oldmin
EndIf
change oldmin and oldmax both to "--"
Update: v.36u now also has script for Manila2D (Weather_WallpaperM2D0.35u.mscr)
Update v.36u: changes made to Yahoo version only. fixed line 176 with missing ")"
Update v.35u: fixes some refresh issues
Update v.33b: got rid of the extra 0 bug ie 007:30
If you want 12hr format instead of 24hr then see this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2521007#post2521007
If you don't want the last updated time displayed, then use the version on the first post above.

Animated Wallpapers
You asked for it, you're gonna get it! ANIMATED WALLPAPERS.
Since Rumball made the great set of animated weather Diamond icons for WeatherPanel, he has given me permission to do a set of animated wallpapers based on his work. These take a long time (I can see now why he asked for donation...he deserves it).
I plan on making a modified set which has shorter animation. The advantage besieds being less time consuming for me is that it is smaller in size and doesn't weigh down the device too much on resources to run. Also, I picked part of the animation which will allow it to run continuosly without the appearance of a break or pause.
I believe Rumball will also try to do a set which will have the full animation like his icon set so look out for that as well.
THE SET IS NOW COMPLETE!!! It was a lot harder than I thought but everyone's inspiration has fueled me on!
These are for QVGA only.
Instructions:
Download WeatherWallpaperAnimated1.0.zip and extra the content onto the folder which contain your weather wallpaper.
On your script, change wallpapertype= ".gif"
(default is ".jpg")
Soft reset.
Download:
http://rapidshare.com/files/137140922/WeatherWallpaperAnimated1.0.zip.html
Lastly, I don't know how to upload animated gifs for preview...probably need imageshack account or something. If anybody can do that, I can post the link here.
[/

i will put more wallpaper here:
samples of the remainder of the wallpapers based on Bob_55 modification which is based on Vista Alive WAD theme from Doreen. This is called samurize. It is not a full size wallpaper!

and hopefully more wallpapers here:
here are wallpapers based on Bliss Alive WAD theme made by Doreen from lakeridgesoftware.com forum.

other possible wallpapers we can use:

Nice work, gif animations would be awesome!

Nice work!!! I knew that this would be a good idea. Way to run with it! This looks awesome.

Please, add support for HTC Home Weather!
Idea is GREAT!
Nice work!

lol if i put it on my wizard it would scream at me for overloading it.
great work tho.

This is a very cool idea
But I'd like to second : Please make it work with HTC-weather and pretty please make it gif-compatibel...

better yet try it yourself. fill the folder full of gifs and change the path to ".gif" instead of ".jpg" in the area I bolded on my first post.

to display current , high and lo temp in notiweather change the weather line to this:
weather="C|"&code&"| "&temp&"º H"&hitemp&"º\L"&lotemp&"º"
there should be about 5 or 6 spaces between | and " after &code&

To make this work with HTC weather or weatherpanel, etc. I need to know where A_C finds that data..I haven't a clue.

you could look at the creator of "vista alive" WAD. It has a wallpaper for every instance of weather conditions. Im sure she would give permissions to use it for this applicaton

I checked that out. Pretty cool!! But I think the look I am going for with this a more natural real life picture for a wallpaper. I don't want it to be too obvious that the wallpaper reflects the weather forecast, and i think the computerized graphic pcitures give it that impression. Looks nice, but not necessarily the look i am going for. On the other hand, it may be good for filler jpgs for forecast I don't already have.

If you are interested here is a script I wrote, originally inspired by Notiweather, which will display data from Weather Panel on the S2U2 screen & could be modified in the same way to change the S2U2 wallpaper.
It uses the 'current', 'hourly' & 'forecast' files in the Weather Panel data folder to get the information according to the time since the last Weather Panel update, so, what it shows should always match Weather Panel itself & can display the current as well as forecast temperatures.
You can choose what is shown on the S2U2 screen, see the end of the script for examples and change the fourth line from the end of the script weather="C|"&code&"|"&display6 to display1, display2 etc, it'll make sense when you look at the script. Oh! & change location_code at the start of the script to you chosen location.

[Update 04/04/08! v1.07.02] Skinnable Analog Clock Today Plugin "Retro"

Retro PPC 1.07.02 for WM5 and WM6
~ Official Website ~I've made this little plugin that displays an analog clock, similar to those wall clocks.
It is a PPC port of my previously-released Retro plugin for the smartphone
You can make your own skin with your PC and REdit. Look below and download it. (REdit needs .NET Framework 2.0 installed on your PC).
News:
Development on Retro is stopped, for now. If you are really interested on bringing it ahead, please contact me by PM or email and maybe I'll release the source.
Main Features:
completely skinnable
skins work like photoshop files (with layers)
antialiased-grade graphics quality, better than alternatives (namely spbclock)
can be centered, left, right aligned with a margin
can create stunning effects: canvas shadows, hand shadows, transparent clocks, glass translucency, semi-transparency, etc...
real-time second hand motion (for faster PDAs)
How To Install:
Retro is compatible with WM5 and upwards!
Run the CAB file on your PDA, make sure to choose to install it into internal memory.
Put additional clock files (skins) created by others into the install dir, then you can choose them in the plugin options under Settings - Today - Items tab. The CAB file already comes with 3 basic skins.
I hope you like it.
Where to download:
Retro and REdit can be found on their official site.
Known bugs:
- does not work correctly with non-square clock sizes
- clock will not update while the screen is locked
Version history:
Retro Update 04-03-2008 v1.07.02
- Added "Alarm hand" to Retro and REdit, that shows the hour position of one of the system alarms.
- Added 24-Hour hand.
- Added the capability to short-cut to the system Clock & Alarm properties.
- Added the capability to embed Author & Name info into the clocks.
- Fixed the bug that prevented Retro from animating properly while embedded in Wisbar Advance Desktop.
- 15-20% speed improvement.
(the new setting screen is shown in the second attachment)
Retro Update 11-29-2007
- Fixed plugin didn't appear in Today settings in WM5 devices
Retro Update 11-23-2007 v1.06c3:
- Fixed slow application startup from desktop due to deadlock in slow priority code (introduced in 1.06c2)
Retro Update 11-17-2007 v1.06c2:
- Fixed CAB install package for non-english PPCs (testers needed!)
- Lower thread priority for clock drawing - should ensure that apps start as quick as possible when opened from the homescreen
REdit Update 04-03-2008 v1.07.03:
- Fixed some crashes for stupid issues.
- Fixed a duplicate preview-window bug.
- Added code to support new features in Retro 1.07.02.

Good app
It's good. You should know that rlToday does this already and more. I do like yours better though as there is less screen flicker when going back tot he Today screen. You need more examples. Also when clicking on the clock it should open the clock applet liek the standard one does. A smaller clock available would be good, with a second hand. And the date printed somewhere.
Thanks!

For the smaller clock issue, well, you can do one for yourself. Also REdit has an option to resize clocks, so you can resize the Austere clock which has the seconds hand (included with the package) to better fit your screen.
This is excellent
has kept me busy for the last hour making a rough and ready skin from the Omega Seamaster. Found an iage of one on the 'net and started Photoshopping from there...
Images are photographic so blurred slightly when resized, but generally pleased for a first attempt.
Might have another go at some point and make one from scratch.

clocks aren't resizable from Retro... you should download REdit (see 1st post), open the clock with it, and then use the "resize clock" function in the Tools menu. Be advised taht resized clocks forcedly look worse than the original ones!...

S2U2 UserWeather MortScript

Figured I would make a thread for this to keep the S2U2 thread uncluttered
A_C's wonderful S2U2 introduced support for weather forecast display if you used some apps to get weather, or you could use "User" generated weather data in the registry.
I never have good luck with those weather apps, but I am handy with mortscript - the following script works with S2U2 *and* rlToday, giving you the current weather and the forecast for today or tomorrow.
REQUIRED:
SU2U 0.95 or later, installed, with UserWeather enabled in settings
MortScript 4.1 installed
CHANGES:
In V2.1 I've cleaned up the system paths so they are not hard coded
* this should work no matter where you have MortScript installed
In V2 I've updated the script as follows:
* if your cellular radio is OFF, the weather check is skipped - it will try again on the next scheduled time (ie, it works right when you are in flight mode)
* if there is any runtime error at all, the script quietly quits now, and tries again on the next scheduled time
TWEAKS:
Near the top of the script, you must edit the various settings (see below) to get your weather, and to have it update as often as you want.
You can also change some lower-level parts of the script - if you don't want it to switch to tomorrow's weather forcast after 4pm, remove these lines from the script:
Code:
# get tomorrow's weather if hour past 4pm (>15)
if (hour > 15)
notDone = -1
endif
If you want to change what is shown on the S2U2 screen, edit this line in the script:
Code:
weather="W|"&code&"|"&hitemp&"|"&lotemp
Change the W to an S to get the Spb weather icons
Change code to ccode to show the icon for the current weather, not the forecast for the day
Change lotemp to temp to display the forecast hi temp / current temp
INSTALLING AND RUNNING
Unzip the attached zip file
Copy notiweather.mscr to /Windows/Startup
If you have run a previous version of this script, you can copy clearweather.mscr anywhere onto your device, and run it once - it will ask if it can clear the notifications... tap Yes. Then you can delete the script
Run the notiweather.mscr script by navigating to it in a file browser on your device and double tappping it. It should silently run - if it works you should see some data activity. Run S2U2 and see if you've got some weather.
It is safe to run the script manually to update the weather - it will also update the next run time to be whatever you have it set for in the script.
WEATHER PANEL ICONS
S2U2 has an incomplete set of Weather Panel Icons.
Go to http://www.desktopsidebar.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2441&pid=30068&mode=threaded&show=&st=&
Link for full stardock set of weather icons is at bottom:
http://www.desktopsidebar.com/forums/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=1489
That set includes the missing 33.png, among many others - unzip those into your gfx\weather folder overwriting what's there, if you're using UserWeather and don't have a full weather icon set. Seems to make S2U2 much happier - still not sure if/when the weather display is updated, will try and nail down some examples for A_C to test.
TROUBLESHOOTING/INTERNATIONAL
One user reports that the code used to automatically connect to the internet fails on his device. Changing the Connect() call as follows fixed it:
Original line:
Connect("The Internet")
Change to:
Connect("Internet")
Try that if the script complains for the connect call.

Attached is a mortscript that uses yahoo's weather rss feed to fetch the weather and put it in the right place, right format for S2U2 "userweather" - so you can have weather even if you don't have a weather app
Unzip notiweather.zip, and then edit notiweather.mscr in a text editor...
You NEED to edit the file before you put it on your pda - at the top are three settings:
Code:
# USER SETTINGS, CHANGE AS DESIRED
# how often to try and get the weather
delayHours = 2
# your location (see http://developer.yahoo.com/weather/ on finding your location)
location="95129"
# desired units for temp, f or c
units="f"
Change those as desired, save, and copy the script to /Windows/Startup
You can launch the script manually or soft reset.
The script uses the notification manager to run every delayHours and fetch your weather.
It issues a Connect call to "The Internet" if no network connection is present.
It formats the weather correctly and puts in in two registry locations:
#for s2u2 UserWeather
RegWriteString("HKCU", "\Software\A_C\S2U2\", "UserWeather", weather)
#for rltoday
RegWriteString("HKCU", "\Software\emerym\", "Weather", rlweather)
If you are just using S2U2, all you need to do is edit your registry and add ShowWeather, DWORD 5.
If you also use rltoday, you can use that second registry value in your skin.xml to get a string with the current weather + today (or tomorrow if after 4pm's) weather and hi temp
Code:
<Registry x="119" y="52"key="key="HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\emerym\Weather" alignment="center">
</Registry>
If not, you can just ignore that, or even edit the script and cut out those parts...
It's all working very well. Thanks to A_C for this great app!
Lemme know if anyone runs into any issues.
Change log:
V 2.2: 15-01-2008 - use system paths from Mortscript to set up notifications
V 2.1: 13-01-2008 - skip check if cell radio off, handle errors cleanly
V 2: 22-12-2007 - first working version
V 1: unreleased test version
What version of Mortscript are you using? I'm using 4.1 and I got "DelayHours command unkown". 4.1 wants set DelayHours,2. So I assume we are using diffent versions.

I'm on 4.1 and it works for me. Is it because it should be delayHours = 2 ?

My bad. Somehow I still had Mortscript 3.1 loaded. I loaded 4.1 and it works perfectly. Thanks.

I put this mortscript on my device, and I do not get any errors, but nothing is displaying on my s2u2 lock screen. Do I need to wait for it to update?
I am using SU2U version 0.97 and MortScript 4.1. When I launch manually, I could get the weather infor. On the other hand, the auto update always complains of Mortscript not being able to be run. I had set the updating to 1 hour internal. Not sure if there is a limitation on how ofter Mortscript could be run or that 2 hours is the lowest interval that I can set.
It should "just work" with mortscript 4.1, however it depends on the installed mortscript being in a specific location.
For those who have problems, you might try editing the lines
# kill any lingering notification
RemoveNotifications("\Windows\MortScript.exe", "\Windows\Startup\notiweather.mscr" )
# set notify for myself at next time
RunAt( utime, "\Windows\MortScript.exe", "\Windows\Startup\notiweather.mscr" )
Near the top. They're going to need to have the correct path to the Mortscript executable - mine is in the \Windows folder, but it could be \Program files\Mortscript or even somewhere on your storage card.

You do need to run it once - assuming it runs correctly the first time (see the note above regarding the path to the executable) it should update the weather right away - you should see the data activity and then, within a minute, the weather should update if you've set S2U2 to use UserWeather.
I'm going to check tomorrow, I am pretty sure I can get rid of the path to the executable in the code - sloppy on my part, sorry! That's the hazard of releasing scripts you write for your own use
I am hoping this can get working...I miss having a temp on my phone. I used to be a big fan of weatherpanel, but it left a lot of undeletable junk on my phone.
I have MortScript 4.0, does that matter?
Also, mine was in an A2DP folder, I just copied it to the windows folder.
Just tried this, and still no luck.
I am running WM5 with a Treo700wx.
OK...
I installed MortScript 4.1 and got this working.
It gives me tongiht's forcast, but gives me a SUN with CLOUDS. It seems to be the wrong icon.
Also, any way to edit this to display the current temparture.

Sure... you've got the source, do whatever you want with it
You can put the current condition icon for display, instead of the forecast...
Note this line:
Code:
weather="W|"&code&"|"&hitemp&"|"&lotemp
code is the "forecast code" for today. If you put ccode in there instead, it will show you the current conditions icon instead. You could also put temp in place of lotemp if you wish to show the hitem/curtemp in S2U2
Oh wow...
This is beautiful!
I love the customization.
Wow...And this comes from an RSS feed right, so If I wanted more weather, I could get an RSS grabber, right??

Yep - they have quite a bit of info in the feed. I just grabbed some bits to make s2u2 and rlToday weather displays. Enjoy! If you do something cool, post it back here.
Just what I was looking for!
This is just what I was looking for! If I try to run the program again, while it is already running, what happens? Does it create another instance of the program? Could I use this as a means of manually updating my weather?
Thanks!
Thanks for the script, it works great. Can you tell me how to change it so, it will not get tommorrows forcast but, always display the current/hi. I changed it to "temp" & "hitemp" and it works great but, at 4pm it shows tommorrows forcast.

Actually, the hitemp will change at 4. The temp will always be the current temp.
I am loving this script.

Code:
# get tomorrow's weather if hour past 4pm (>15)
if (hour > 15)
notDone = -1
endif
Delete or comment out (put a # at the beginning) those lines to stop having it look ahead to tomorrow's forecast. Or change the 15 to some larger number - it's a 24 hour clock there so 16 is 4pm, 20 is 8pm, 22 is 10pm...
That's cool but, how do I change it so it will change the hitemp at say, 11pm instead of 4pm? Thanks for the help.

It's perfectly safe! Run it anytime to update the weather and reset the "next update" time for you.
It uses the notification manager to run itself in the future. If you look at the chunk of code at the top of the script where it says
# set up for next notification
you can see that the first thing it does when it runs is, it removes its own notification request (which does nothing if its not there, but keeps it from making multiple entries if it is there) and then sets up the next one... then it gets the current weather.
So you can run it whenever you want to refresh things.

11pm is 23 in 24 hour time, so if hour > 22, then you want tomorrow's time - change the 15 to a 22 in the if statement...
if (hour > 22)
and from 11pm you will have the next day forecast
Or you can just delete the whole block, because it will always show the current forecast without that block of code. So after midnight, the current forecast should be for that next day, right?

If we already have Marsware that doesn't need NET CF3.5, why not just keep this one nice and simple.
Once youo start adding features galore it just get too resource hungry (memory!)

Sorry about that - I did not use the correct compiler options when compiling to the Pocket PC platform. I have recompiled and the DLLs were merged into the executable.
I will have to troubleshoot the CF3.5 - I didn't target that framework so it should not asking for that. It may be related to the missing DLLs issue, since both require the B4PPC compiler to use "optimized" options.
I have re-uploaded into post #1 - thanks for testing.

Thanks! I like "Pocket Forecast" and will use that (if it's not in use already). I wrote a wiki application called "Pocket Wiki" so I wanted to stick with the same naming convention.
I don't want to use any application names similar to the great programs A_C writes. I'm not worthy.

I uninstalled Microsoft CF3.5 on my PDA and ran the updated ppcWeather (11/14/08 v.18) - it works for me. That said, applications seem to always work on the developer's systems all the time so that isn't much of a test.
Could you please retest with the updated version?
Thanks to everyone for their help and feedback.

Thanks for catching that.
I just tested that and that seems to be a new bug after I recompiled with the "optimized settings" - I am not sure what is causing this because the desktop version doesn't do this. Same code, different target environments.
The weather.ini settings themeDir, httpTimeout, and refreshInterval are getting blanked, but the location ids are not. This is strange...
I am going to have to check with the Basic4ppc support team to see why this is doing this.
Now i got zip code working need some setting

LOL need move \theme\default\condition folder out to \theme\

The code is reading a form textbox variable for the settings that were getting blanked out - I'm not sure why some are ok and others are not. As a work-around, I added code to check to see that there is a value for the form textbox before saving it. Uploaded v.19 and am pursuing this on the B4PPC forums.
Thanks for the testing and feedback!

Widgets for Androkkid

On ssj5trunks' (the developer of Androkkid) request, I 'm opening a thread for widget for this great program.
The Androkkid comes with these widgets:
AnalogClock
Battery: Widget without text for QVGA is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4879711&postcount=126

wmdirk has supplied a widget library to facilitate the development of widgets, version 1.4, Dec. 26, 2009: http://sites.google.com/site/wmdsoft/wmd-androkkid-lib
After talking to wmdirk (and because I no longer use Androkkid), I've decided to change this first post. wmdirk's widgets will not be updated here but on his webpage http://sites.google.com/site/wmdsoft/home. He seems to be the only one currently making widgets for Androkkid, and he is very successful in doing so. But some of the widgets are not free, and I didn't want to mix the free and the commercially available in one list. However, this thread will still be used by wmdirk to answer questions regarding his widgets, and to announce new ones.
Other widgets that have to be installed separately (I'll try to keep this updated and with the newest first):
This is a list of wmdirk's widgets: some of them free http://sites.google.com/site/wmdsoft/home

No, you are not stupid, I'm the one who was sloppy and forgot instructions.
You should just unzip the files to the Widget directory and Androkkid will automatically detect it. Then holding on the desktop, click add, then widget, then select it, and ok.
The weather widget has a settings menu you can reach by clicking in the top half. Not all the settings have an effect yet. Clicking lower on the widget, should refresh, but I'm not sure that's working yet. Also I forgot to delete a debug message. Will try and upload a new version today.
Wether widget updated in first post (messages used for debug purposes have been removed).
Also updated information re installation and skinning.

Having problems finding information on how the widget interfaces with Androkkid and need some example code. A simple "Hello World" widget would be useful and would provide a springboard for creation of new widgets.
Failing that some source code of any developed widget to date.

I'll try to have a new version of the weather widget with the source code later today, and I'll have some more error testing to try and prevent crashes.
It is important though to be connected to the internet when installing the weather widget or changing the location.
In order to test the weather codes, you can put the following in your browser's adress bar:
http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?p=UKXX0085
and it should give you the same weather forecast I'm using in the widget

Just tried with weather code UKXX1730 it has updated and allows me to add to the page but i am only seeing the bottom half of the image you have provided plus if i change the temp to c instead of f it still shows farenheit temperature.
im not sure how others feel but ideally i would like to add a weather widget to my homescreen along with the clock and a row of priority icons or have a small icon sized image which when clicked on brings up full details

Are you using the version posted yesterday? Because with the latest version, when I change from f to c or opposite, it changes temperature. But you need to be connected to the internet when changing from temperature unit.
When you say only the bottom shows, what parts are showing? City? Current weather? Next day's forecast?
Sometimes you have to click several times before it properly updates from the internet.
im not sure how others feel but ideally i would like to add a weather widget to my homescreen along with the clock and a row of priority icons or have a small icon sized image which when clicked on brings up full details

Yes, that has been my goal too, but I'm having some problems with the forecast rss, so I'm giving it a rest for now. But the code is there so maybe someone else wants to give it a try? I would also like to have better support for different cities.
Otherwise, you could use the transparent version, set the color of the code to the same as the background, and then you would only see the icons.
If i have time i create the top bar widget to add TopBar in Android with widget and not in Androkkid directly.
Or if anyone want create it i think this is a good widget for all.
Bye
P.S.
I look for the problem of Menu for contact.
I test it in my diamond and when i try it work, i retest it.

Yes please do this would be cool!!!
OK. So I have finished the initial release of GORAPSWeather Widget for Androkkid. This is my first Androkkid Widget so please bare with me.
First all the credit to ssj5trunks for such a great app and the source code to the Hero Clock widget which I used as the code base for this widget.
Second thanks to Showaco for his Titanium Weather which I used as the weather base for this widget.
Note: This widget requires Mortscript.
Installation and Setup Instructions
1) Downlad and unpack GORAPSWeather.zip
2) Open GorapsWeather.mscr with a text editor and make the appropriate changes to the two variables: location and units.
- Change location to the accuweather.com location code for your location.
If you need to find your code go to www.accuweather.com/m and search for your city. Then you will see the location code in the URL. It will look something like NAM|CA|ON|MARKHAM.
- Change units to C or F.
3) Save your edited script.
4) Copy the GORAPSWeather folder to the Androkkid widgets folder on your phone.
5) Execute the click on the GorapsWeather.mscr in a file explorer to initialize the values. If you don't do this and add the widget it will crash Androkkid.
6) Add the widget to your Androkkid desktop. Clicking on the widget will update the weather data.
I hope you like it.

I continue experimenting with Co0kie Home Tab 2.0.0. Mainly CHTtweaks allow to change textures in .png format using the file explorer and give the option to easily change the text font for all CHT elements independently. Aditionally CHTtweaks uses great tool JMLMenuSense to make a setting menu.
CHTtweaks brings major changes as the original files of CHT.2.0.0 lua & mode9 are modified. I am also providing the open source where the changes are marked (--CHTtweaks) in the files as explanation. Feel free to use, modify, edit, mirror, sale, delete or whatever you want to do with this, but always with fun
For security also I am providing the original CHT files to restore if necessary. Just copy all files from insode the zip to windows folder, acept overwrite & restart Sense.
The files with changes are the followings:
5950B2CD_manila -- Co0kieNotifyBar.lua ==> added a 3rd layout for text missed calls - sms - emails - voicemail notification, Configurable: text font, size, color, alignment, language, displayed text
5fa4d4b7_manila -- homedigitalclock.lua ==> chose png texture for numbers, colon & background; switch for transparent flipclock-tabs; switch for get out of the midle flipclock line.
4B558519_manila -- CHT_Widgets.lua ==> selectable opacity for home clock background; added 4th layout to textclock: alarm icon only; added 3rd layout text notifications
1EC5924B_manila -- homeAnalogClock.lua ==> chose png texture for analog clock face, hourhand, minutehand & secondshand
new!2AFAFEFA_manila -- CHT_Softkeys.lua ==> chose png texture for the softkeys background; switch for transparent softkeys & softkeys background; switch to dissable the enlargement softkey icon when pressed, work done by devil-strike based on the script of rat_2665 (all credits for them please). Extended CHT menu. Hide taskbar new!
29C5E347_manila -- Co0kieEmail.lua ==> chose png texture for CHT email background independently of Email Sense Tab; change text font
7ECB5997_manila -- Co0kieMessages.lua ==> chose png texture for CHT SMS background; change text font
4956014B_manila -- CHT_Lockscreen.lua ==> chose png texture for the slider unlocker of each CHT lockscreen (Manila, Windows, Mini HD)
6A5D6A2D_manila -- Co0kieMusicPlayer.lua ==> switch transparent CHT music player background; change text font; change background
45E83959_manila -- CHT_Titlebar.lua ==> switch transparent home title bar; set color for other Sense Tab titles (excepting Music Sense Tab & Internet Sense Tab); change text font; switch page indicators to botton screen
5146EC01_manila -- Co0kieAppointments.lua, 45D3F17C_manila -- Co0kieListControl.lua & 094C0231_manila -- Co0kieAppointments.mode9==> switch transparent background for CHT appointment, horizontal alignment & change text font
3ACCF880_manila -- CHT_QuickLinks.lua==> change text font for quicklinks labels; change quiklinks frames
58B6C4C5_manila -- CHT_FreeLinks.lua==> change text font for freelinks labels; change freelinks frames
346BA8F0_manila -- Co0kieTextClock.lua==> change text font for the clock, date & alarm bar widget
6639bcc4_manila -- weatherforhome.lua==> change text font for weather info for home.
6DB6511F_manila -- CHT_Constants.lua==> dock size up to 120px
new! 285d005a_manila -- manila.lua & 3a8e04af_manila -- manila.mode9==> pie control in all sense tabs
CHTtweaks does also add some settings that use to be done in CHTEditor, now you can also do it in CHTtweaks, like disable double flip or minute flip; show seconds hand; set softkey height & menu height; set color for CHT Email text & CHT SMS text; select lockscreen style (0= Manila; 1= Windows; 2= HD Mini)
To restore default manila texture just leave the texture path in blank and restart Sense. CHTtweaks is provided without png textures because it was making so big. I have uploaded a pack CHTtweaks_PNGtextures.rar with some examples, just unpack it in the SD\CHTtweaks folder and select your favorite, delete, add new textures ... and share them with us! I havent done any of this nice graphics. I am taking graphics from NordPolCamper, MrBeO, LNando84, Santod040, [email protected], _leciel_, S-Droid, Sternas & ericv99. Thank you so much for them! Special thanks to LNando84 for all the good work and help with the setting menu.
Installation:
CHT2.0.0 needs to be installed previously.
Switch Off Sense.
uninstall any previous version, acept soft-resset.
Install CHTtweaks.v0.97.cab in device, accept soft-resset.
Install JMLMenuSense 1.60 or higher in device, only in case you allready have not installed for other widgets (v1.75 not working)
Extract CHTtweaks_PNGtextures.rar in device or SD, I use to do it in \Storage Card\CHTtweaks
Switch Sense On
Find CHTtweaks in Start Menu\Programs & CHT menu.
You can uninstall CHTtweaks.v0.97.beta.cab. If you have any problem after deinstallation use restore.CHT.original.zip, just copy the original files from inside the rar to windows folder, acept overwrite and do restart Sense.
Also you can restore independently any modified file of CHT and the rest will continue working. I mean if you like the way of changing the CHT Email background but nothing else, just restore all the files excepting 29C5E347_manila. CHTtweaks will continue working only with this feature.
NEW! ONE CLICK TO HIDE TASKBAR NEW!
Just copy the file into the zip to windows folder and accept overwrite and restart Sense
LOCKSCREEN

CHTtweaks.097.beta contains ICS lockscreen for CHT2.0. This lockscreen substitute CHT Windows lockscreen. It is made by 3 .png files: ICSlockscreen.png (256x256) for the slider; ICSlockscreen2.png (256x256) for the slider pressed; ICSlockscreenBG.png (512x512) for the lockscreen background. Of course you can change this graphics as usual in CHTtweaks, just go to lockscreen menu and select textures from internal memory or SD (to get default graphic just leave it blank. You can also select the application to launch by unlocking in left slide. As most of the CHTtweaks you can use this ICS lockscreen independently of CHTtweaks.
The others lockscreens (manila & HDmini style) can also be customized with CHttweaks.

SOFTKEYS
Just a few clicks and you can change easily the softkeys. Also I added the option to disable the softkeys icon enlarge when pressed, accordingly to the work done here by devil-strike based on the script of rat_2665
CHTtweaks includes the option to have transparent softkeys background in one click. All this changes in softkeys needs re-start Sense. Also includes the file restore.CHT.original.rar in case you want to uninstall this cab, just copy the files inside the rar into \windows and restart sense.
Special thanks to lnando84 for the tests and the work in the setting menu and all Dream Team for the nice graphics.
Tip: I am uploading a few transparent softkeys icons very useful to play a bit with this softkeys backgrounds textures. Enjoy!
Tons of Softkey bars (Docks) uploaded in this post and followings. Thankyou very much ezzie (& Nando)
EMAIL & SMS
in this post and followings ezzie has uploaded a lot of graphics for SMS & Email ready to use wth CHTtweaks. Thanks a lot!
HOMECLOCK
Thanks to the amazing work of Dunc001 in SimClock a lot of new possibilties are comming to the world of CHTwidgets. CHTtweaks add the feature to easily change the texture of some elements of the homeclock using png files.
Just open CHTtweaks menu setting (CHTquicklink / CHTfreelink >> miscellaneous) go to home clock setting and use the file explorer to find your favourite texture for the home analog clock, the numbers of the home flipclock and the colon (two dots). Also select the font text for the weather info & text clock. You can always restore the defeult textures just deleting the texture path and restarting sense
EDIT: With so many changes of home analog clock may be useful this set of clock hands good for any light-dark clockface
Thanks to Lnando84 you can find here (and followings posts) lots of clocks in png format, ready to use with CHTtweaks!
A few clocks, softkeys, Lockscreens, etc to enjoy with CHTtweaks. Unzip in SD card and select it with CHTtweaks:

Here is the kitchen. In the folder \workspace\lua there are all the files decompiled and commented, the modified code is marked with --CHTtweaks where is changed from the original. It also has been modified the mode9 file 094C0231_manila, it was necessary for the appointments transparency. You can run it without devMode (_Deploy_to_device_normal_mode.bat). All credits & thanks to Co0kie Monster.
Also uploaded the source and kitchen of most of my widgets including CHTtweaks:
Poy_fullKitchen.zip - 49.19 MB
HOW IT WORKS?
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
CHTtweaks 0.93.beta introduces small modifications in the lua files of Co0kie Home Tab 2.0.0 which makes that some properties of a few elements (homeclock, lockscreen unlocker, email background, etc) can be set in the registry HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHT.Tweaks.XXXX. This changes are compatible with any other widget or standar CHT skin: if there is no CHTtweak registry setting the default texture will be used.
Attaching the source of all modified files in which has been included the marks --CHTtweak for easy indentification. As example the code below say to CHT to use the png file for the home analog clock -defined previously by CHTtweaks setting menu, but if it does not exist it will use the default manila file
--#####Set texture for home analog clock by CHT Tweaks
SetTextureHomeAnalogClock= function ()
poyTweaks_HomeAnalogClock_texture_path = GetCHTSettingString("Tweaks.HomeAnalogTexture", "\\windows\\htc\\Home\\Assets\\Images\\Home\\VGA\\AnalogClock_bg.qtc")
analogclock:SetTexture(poyTweaks_HomeAnalogClock_texture_path)
end
SetTextureHomeAnalogClock ()

CHTtweaks Setting Menu configure the registry, then this configuration is applied to CHT
And never forget Co0kie's words specially where is said " ... The source code is freely available. You may modify it as you wish, but I do have a request:
If you're going to post a CHT modification publicly, post only the modified files and not the whole thing, so that the installation procedure is:
1) Install the main CHT cab first.
2) Install your modification.
Alternatively, if you want to use any part of this source code in your own independent manila project, you are free to do so, but please do post a mention that you're using this code and what parts.
That's the only thing I ask. I hope everyone will honour it. Thanks, here's the source, have fun with it."
Thanks again Co0kieMonster
CHTtweaks 1.8.5
(available beta 2)
At first BIG THANKS TO CO0KIE MASTER its amazing how he has converted a static home tab into a flexible and very customizable home tab. Every time I look a bit into the source files I get impressed what Co0kie has done. Not only the CHT itself, but also the source is free and available for use and enjoyment.
With this development I try to bring some of the advantages of CHTweaks to CHT1.8.5's friends. So I have started with the analog and flip clock (basic CHTwidget) and CHTtweaks can change the elements of the analog clock -face & hands- using textures in PNG format stored in any folder of device or SD. In the standard flip clock can be changed the numbers (always in PNG format) and add 2 dots between hours and minutes. Also clock background can be changed using textures in PNG format and set opacity from 1=transparent to 100. Aditionaly has been added some work i the Home Title Bar (transparency). Further development depends on comments and sugestions.
Installation
1. Install CHT 1.8.5 (& rest of the components)
2. Install CHTtweaks 1.8.5.betaXX.cab, softresset
3. Aditionally I recommend to install JMLMenuSense v1.60 (or higher) for access to setting menu
4. Access to configuration menu in \start menu\programs
5. Get lots of textures in PNG format here and everywhere in XDA
**DOWNLOAD HERE**
Attaching the kitchen. The source with the modified files are in folder \workspace\_lua\. Everybody is free to add features, correct bugs, edit files, delete them, change, sale, mirror, or whatever want to do with them. Use is not compulsory. CHTtweaks1.8.5 works fine in my HD2(WM6.5.x) with CHT1.8.5 installed, but if it does not work in your device I will help as much as I can.
If you want to try the kitchen*, do the changes in the lua files with notepad2 (inlcuded in tools folder) then run _Deploy_to_device_normal_mode.bat and the files will be recompiled and deployed to your device fro test. Once the changes are done, just run _Generate_files_for_cab.bat and will get the files ready for the cab in folder \cab\_files_final\
* at first the device must be synchronized with PC and run z_init.bat only once at the beginning.
CHTtweaks 1.8.5 includes Typoclock
A reduced version of Typoclock has been added as layout in standard textclock. This reduced typoclock has time, date and alarm icon, and can be configured in CHTtweaks 1.8.5 setting menu (or directly in registry HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\CHT.Tweaks.XXX). It can be changed: text font for time and date; color; text sizes; vertical position; horizontal alignment (left, center, right); hide alarm icon; alarm icon position.
To activate Typoclcok on CHT 1.8.5 install CHTtweaks, go to menu > edit home layout > select level > Advanced > show text clock > typoclock; for configuration just go to CHTtweaks setting menu (start menu\programs) > typoclock > set your favorite parameters.

Addon for CHT
Hola, looks and works very good
Great job and lot´s of work and thinking behind it. Congratulations amigo.
It works on both of my devices HD2 & HD Mini, much better than expected
For beeing a beta, I´d say it´s rather a "release candidate"
Hi Poy,
WOW !!!
What a great job amigo mio, this is really another huge step to a higher level in WM and CHT Widgets.
If all this great things continue growing at this pace we will soon see a massive immigration coming from the dark OS sides
Once again amigo, Big Thanks for sharing your amazing work
OMG OMG OMG......
I may have to leave "sick" to get home and apply this.....does tweakideation sound like a legit diesese?
Hi again Maestro,
I wondering if you have installed the Dunc"s CHT Fix40 Slots-Widgets you posted here and could you please check in your registry to see if it is shown 40 or 20, I just installed this fix but in my registry it still show 20 slot, is this right?
Thanks in advance, amigo

I really do not know what cab i have installed so many test ... but for sure is Dunc's CHT fix 40 widgets. Dunc's mod of mike2nl's CHT fix 40 widgets is not included in CHT Tweaks v0.90. Its linked to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12016868&postcount=24
I thinks that Dunc's mod of mike2nl's CHT fix 40 widgets should be standar nowdays, it should be added to CHT2.0.1 (or eventually to CHT Service Pack 1). This fix allows 40 widgets and reserve 8 slots for BG widgets. If you don't have 40 slots in the registry just add it: HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHTI.AddonWidgets.Count = 40
CHT Tweaks its just a protection to avoid overwrite the file home.mode9 when themers are working on home flip clock to convert it to digital clock with 2 dots & no flip line. Now you can get this mod without touching this fixed file. Something similar happends with CHT_rat_weather_library, with CHT Tweaks I am trying to protect this valious file to be overwritten.
Thanks for your fast reply Maestro.
I understood perfectly amigo, so I going to change the value 20 to 40 in the registry and I hope when I get my 21' widget everything goes ok
I just installed the 40 fix now because I know that amazing widgets are coming soon
Thanks again Amigo.
please give me stick note (hola) widget! Thanks
you'll find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=965868&page=3

Now we´re getting to one of the main questions or issues since so many addon widgets and Cookie´s kitchen have been released. We are indeed loosing our "base2 or let´s say, "common ground"....
Guess we need a "Base Definition" in order to avoid future probs with "crucial" files in order to keep ONE basic CHT version & vision. I also think it is IMPERATIVE and every mod of this kind should always post a detailled list of the included and modded files, and maybe even provide the o files in case of probs. See notes and issues when uninstalling one of these files or widgets.
I´m not sure about a Service Pack... I would rather say this requires a new release, so all that´s been done up to now should be compatible with CHT 2.0 and all that´s beeing done in the future, based on your findings and Dunc´s SK-i Theme (and the evolutions for CHT within it) as well as from other CHT Members and users. Call it maybe CHT 2.5, or CHT 3.0 because it´s not a "minor update" like a bug fix or some addons. We´re talking about fundamental changes in CHT
Maybe this could be discussed with users and devs in actual CHT thread, or even a new thread? I´m asking this, because like with the update and new release of CHT 2.0, there are quite still a lot of CHT users that prefer older version (CHT 1.8.5.1) and have decided not to change. I guess there will be also enough that might want to stick to "unchanged" 2.0 instead of having to worry that new widgets need new mods on crucial files like home.mode9, etc...
Skinning mods of image files is one thing, as well as tweaking or partially modding mode9 files for fontsize, color, etc..., but mayor changes affecting luas, or other items in mode9 should be done very carefully, especially considering the fact, that this files and changes call upon a lot of other files, and this can really screw your Sense
Interesting and unique mod to CHT. I will try this, and post comments later! Thanks for sharing...

Yes, it´s me again After a few extensive tests, I do insist that a "File List" is imperative for not having to BAN overwriting or modding files that are crucial to the system and Sense. I´ve been switching mode9´s and Luas with CHTS now, and if you do it right, there will be no issues, but you need to know the files that are changed BEFORE installing the widgets or mods, so you can back them up before damage is done. The xmls included in all widgets, AND HERE IN THE PAST THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT THAT WHERE NOT WRITTEN PROPERLY AND THUS UNUSEFULL AND DANGEROUS, have to be checked and approved, otherwise they will be no good. CHTS can help overcome these problems if used properly. CHTS can save those crucial files before install to a save profile, and then you can use any file in another profile and so switch safely back and forth. But CHTS needs to know these files before install in order to back up / save the original ones
I have been able to switch from a Profile configured with rat´s changed home.mode9 file (his weather library needed for his last widgets) to another profile using the original (well, not original since CoOkie also modified the same file for CHT - so there is an Original file, then the CHT file and now the modded CHT files for that) CHT home.mode9 file and everything went fine. But still the manila/sense versions need to bee watched, since not all mode9 are version independent
Very nice useage of JMLMenuSense!
Sadly I cannot use Manila on my phone (too slow for normal use) - But indeed very useful!
Congratulations!
GreeZ!

Guys, i have read that Dunc has made a 40 widget fix for CHT. So far i can remember about that issue... i have done this fix and others, in team work of BHS and me before x-mas and i have published this in the CHT Artworkgroup as a beta testing issue.
Dunc please tell me why you have realeased this fix before we have done our intesive tests of this release is ok.
Hi again Mike, I dont see any controversy there. We are recommending to use Dunc`s verssion for the the CHT fix 40 slots -widgets, because it also has been altered to allow the use of 7 backgrounds widgets, as impleted in Blue Sk-i theme or CHT Walls. We all recognise your work and credits have been properly granted. Dont waste your time and energy on that, we have still a lot of work to do

Hola again, Mike and Poy, yes it´s true that Mike worked on that widget fix and it´s not about beeing mentioned, but about possible issues and misunderstandings about this particular and specific fix for Dunc´s SK-i Theme and CHT in general...
"The attached zip folder contains seven background widget cabs which will install the backgrounds you see used in the screenshots. You can choose to install any number of these and after you have installed them you can easily edit them using the reg changes and new images. However to get them to appear behind everything else on screen you first need to update the home.mode9 file. You will find a cab to install the mode9 and make the necessary reg edit in the zip folder with the widget cabs. Poyensa has edited this one for me to make the first eight widget slots appear behind eveything else so I have his original background widget and my seven installed and working perfectly. As an added bonus, and because the backgrounds will use up to eight widget slots this mode9 is also modified to allow up to 40 CHT widgets to be installed (the original maximum was only 20) so you shouldn't run out of space!"
And actually it was only 10 in the original coded but 20 "targetet"
The original CHT mode9 file (7c60907d_manila) indeed allowed only 20 slots, but in the Sk-i theme, the one modded or used was not the original file from CHT, but the one Mike modded!!! and not tested/approved for release
So let´s wait for Mike´s reasons and motives for not releasing it yet.....
A few weeks back, it was agreed that there were still some issues pending to be resolved prior to a public release as you remember when rat informed us about the mode of 3a8e04af_manila
No dissapointments friends, I have edited my posts to give propper credits to mike2nl. I've really always thought that mike is the creator of the original fix. Sorry for the inconveniences that this may have caused.
