Is there any MMS application to install on WM6.1 (commercial or free)? - HTC Oxygen

Hello,
I like the new WM6.1 much, but unfortunatelly there is no MMSes. Is there possibility to install an external application, commercial or free to make MMS possible?
By the way - is there possibility to switch off that 'chat-like' SMS list mode in WM6.1? To a 'cllasic' view.
Best greetings,
RA

WM6 ROM Cooking

OK... so this is the fun stuff.
I've dumped the WM6 ROM, since everything's on DoC this should all go swimmingly in terms of putting it back together.
so... since there's a plethora of WM6 ROMs for other devices, what existing stuff shall we build a ROM with for now?
For the first go, I'd personally like to see mrvrealvga integrated as well as humanly possible into the ROM. As well as basic performance tweaks and utilities.
Otherwise, vanilla as hell. Only include things that are nearly universally used.
Example: I don't use TomTom and neither do lots of other folks. Why waste the space.
Example: I do use MS VoiceCommand and it seems like some ROMs do a good job of integrating it. I would love that, but if others don't, then scratch that.
Keep the first one mean and lean.
My thoughts.
I second wgary's comments to the wants and not wants.
NICE waited long time now let the cooking begin :
Mouse driver from mobidock (important!!)
trueVGA interegated with the files (vijays big phone and other trueVGA files)
HTC touchFLUO files interegated (that will make it to scroll to in any menu and page)
HTC audio manager (VGA)
SMS backup
Batterystatus 1.04
Ofiice 2007 for WM6
Clear storage
some tweaks (to make it fatser like GDI tweaks, storage cache tweaks)
HTC today audio plugin (from htc touch)
all the functions of WM6 intact but if microsofts voice is taken away i find it good because it never works!! need the files or cabs i have them solet me know!!
RE: Office 2007.
Yeah, that would be great and all... but ONLY if it can be integrated without being a space hog. Sounds like bloat-a-rama.
You have 256MB of ROM, plus 8gigs on the hard drive, what's to complain?
As you requested, i'm trying to stick to things that have already been done so you can come out with a quick and easy and OPTIMIZED ROM.
- Safe Mode functionality built into the ROM.
- Fix trueVGA...but not sure how much of it has been fixed other than the dialer and a few other things. Not 100% so you may want to wait on this.
- All black ROM that works in both VGA and trueVGA modes? This already exists and may be easily done. Here is an existing one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314263&highlight=buttonflo
- Maybe Palm Threader for SMS threading?
- I would like a ROM with this look for my Athena, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311225 , all files should be available to make it easier on you if you decide to go this route. I really don't care for the today screen look but the phone and comm manager look nice. Just don't like the wallpaper. Needs to be just black without the texture used.
- TouchFlo aka ButtonFlo feature. We discussed this before and it looks like someone already came out with it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314031&highlight=buttonflo
- (UPDATED) Touchflo cube + Black magic + VP3G rom + Instructions + links to rom, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314324&highlight=buttonflo

- PocketRAR (already done on Universal)

- Pocket Screen Capture (done on Wizard)
- Internet Calling utility (done on Universal & Hermes) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950
- JetCet Print since it wasn't in the latest ROM with WM6
- WM6 Remote Desktop
- Office 2k7 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
Can't think of anything else that already exists that we may want.
Edit: Is it possible to "modify" Magic Button to integrate better into the new shading on WM6?
Beside all of the above postings..can i suggest one ?
Garmin Mobile XT..it is in Dopod U1000 (thailand) ROM. Maybe somebody from Thailand could dump the cab..
thanks..
If possible there shout be a Vanilla Rom and a full Rom, that's how the did it in the Hermes section.
Also there is a new Kaiser HTC Home plugin (Also VGA) and remade by some people: Look at this thread:

Olipro: i am interested to do some cooking in order to have Blackberry connect running (change the version). For other rooms it was due modificating the nbf file, but for HTC 7500 I don't know how to do. I tested the tool HTC64 but says not sure about the result due it was for UNIVERSAL.
I have been using nbextract to obtain the .nb files. Where I can change the version of the operative system -I mean it is in the G4 or where?

YES! Please remote the built in dialer. I don't know anyone that uses it.
I use it! Because I drive and I use a BT adapter, PLUS I am italian and I would like to use a voice system having in MY language my contacts.
I record my contacts and I call using voice dial
Personally i prefer Cyberon Voice Commander to MS Voice Command - seems to recognise me better!
I think the Office 2007 updates should be in there, plus WM Storage, plus jetware extensions (although not sure how youd handle registration), oh and WiFiFoFum would be cool to fine hotspots.

I think ltxda's list is very good starting point. (other than I don't care about MvrTrue Vga) on my Universal I really only used with IE or Opera and now with their new scaling options, I really don't need true vga or its inherent issues.
I would also prefer MS Voice Command, and have cyberon completed removed or as an addon. I like MS voice command even better than the complete cyberon.
I will suggest to have a a look of to the new HTC_USA x7501 rom, may be it has new DLLs and faster drivers..
HTC Kaiser add-ins
Here's my request -
The new HTC add-ins from HTC Kaiser:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316107
HTC Homeplug with additional tab
HTC 3G Dialpad with Video call
HTC 9 button commanager
Also, would be nice if it including the fixed HTC Audio Manager with correct track order (doe anyone know if this is available yet?)
VGA QVGA!
Hi Oli great work you've been doing already. I'd love to see the today screen in VGA so I can finally have all my info on one page without scroll but I'd like a way to set individual programs to default to QVGA when I start them
ie. a sat nav program such as iGo8 which I'd have to install afterwards.
Martyn

Essential Programs to have on a Star Trek

Just wondering what programs everyone finds useful, handy, or fun on their Star Trek.
Just as on every other smartphone.
Mine are:
VITO Audio Notes - calls recording
Gentimer - alarm clock
Notepad Mobile
Opera Mini
Prelude ICQ
Resco Explorer
Newsbreak - RSS
ClockOnTop
Dont forget
VNCViewer
Documents To Go
SmartphoneNotes
I will add two more that I found realy useful:
phonealarm
smart toolkit
Yahoo 2 Go
Voice Commander
Google maps
Live Search
I don't know if you already know but a program that I find very useful on my 3125 is SMSintercept. its free and it shows the name of the contact that sent you a message on the main display instead of that boring(text message (1)) and the cool thing is that it even shows the contact name on the Ext. screen!! it has other cool features, I think is a "must have" for every strtrk user
And who doesn't use DontForget2?......
I have installed:
Audio Manager from HTC Vox
Google Maps
Live Search
Octrotalk
PHM Registry Editor
Total Commander
Voice Command
Oxios Hibernate
PIM Backup (This WILL work on Smartphone)
I also highly recommend using an Exchange Activesync connection instead of USB. It's extremely reliable and provides a live, constant sync backup of all PIM data on your device. Mail2web offers them for free! Live.mail2web.com
I also use:
CallJockey
CorePlayer
GenTimer
Phone Guard
SKTools
WM5torage
Voicecommand for the SPL please?
i have a SPL and need to know where i can obtain a cab for MSVC w/bluetooth support?
My ABSOLUTE all time favorite is
John Cody's Alerts!
I use it more than any other app - hand's down!
He has excellent customer support through his forum and the registration fee is minimal. I've used it on my 2125 and now on my 3125 and can't imagine having a smartphone without it.
I upgraded my ROM on the HTC/Cingular 3125 and now Don't Forget 1.22 doesn't work. If anyone has a solution as to how to get it to work please PM me.

Disable eT9 & Enable the Older T9 - works better for copy/paste on WM6.x SmartPhones

Disable eT9 & Enable the Older T9 - works better for copy/paste on WM6.x SmartPhones
LINK EXPLAINING HOW THIS CAME ABOUT
I use WM6 ROM by GnatGoSplat (LINK), which breathed new life into my little phone. I also develop my own software in MortScript called JZ SmartMort, which helps SmartPhones/PPCs be more productive with copy/paste/clipboard history/multi-web-browsers/favorites/java, etc. When I had WM5, my software worked like a charm and I was able to copy/paste EVERYWHERE, including JBed textboxes like in Opera Mini. As soon as I used WM6 & WM6.1 ROMs, my program stopped copying and pasting which really killed my productivity but I absolutely had to leave WM6 on my phone because it's so much faster. So after trying a thousand things, I finally figured out that Tegic's eT9 IME keyboard driver is not the same animal as T9: because using T9, you're able to press any key combination of keys (Control-C, Control-V, etc.) while controlling the device from a MortScript or from a PC using MyMobiler. When eT9 is the IME driver, copy/paste did not work at all.
Tegic is the company who write the driver for HTC, this CAB is T9 (a.k.a. classic T9) ----VERSUS---- the newer xT9 (a.k.a. eT9), on WM 6.x and above which is not compatible with standard copy/paste keyboard shortcuts.
So --- I dumped the original WM5 ROM from HTC to disk and grabbed every file that met this criteria "\Windows\T9*.*" threw it into a CAB and added the registry entry (HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0010409\IME File) to switch over to the T9 dll file, replacing the newer but inferior eT9. If you uninstall the CAB offered on this thread, your original/newer eT9 driver will return.
After installing this CAB, all T9 functionality should be available. Soft-reset is recommended but not necessary, however, T9 will only be available to newly launched apps. After you do a soft-reset, all apps will use T9.
This CAB is for US-English (1033/0409) locale. Should only work on non-QWERTY SmartPhones (just dial-pad) Obtained this driver from Cingular 3125 ROM (HTC StarTrek -- here's a picture of it). IME driver is Tegic T9 for WM 5.0)
Post #8 suggests that this driver also works for BenQ E72. My guess is that it also will work on Pantech devices.
Thanks!
JZ
hi, I used this cab which allows for your script to work with Opera Mini. It now copies and pastes the correct address. Your cab replaces xT9 on my s640. However, there is an undesired side effect. I can no longer user the function buttons, which includes all numbers and symbols. Basically, with this keyboard I have only letters.
Any idea how to remedy this? I would like for copy and paste to work properly as well as having a full keyboard.
Thanks!

Few questions:
Before installing this CAB, did you try different "Opera Mini Paste-Methods" under JZ Opera Options?
Since this did not work for you, you uninstalled, after uninstall of T9 CAB the below reg entry below is restored back to original. Let me know what is in this registry key: "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0010409\IME File"
Was there ever a Windows Mobile 5 available for your device (so I can try to rip the T9 drivers from it)
Ultimately, I still have to find a T9 IME/keyboard driver with a full QWERTY keyboard. If you know of any other HTC device that has a full keyboard and WM5 SmartPhone, let me know.
Send me a private message and I'll see if I can attempt a few things with your device, ultimately, copy/paste is an issue with all xT9/eT9 keyboard drivers.
Thank you for your post. xT9 and the built-in Windows Mobile Copy/Paste functions are incompatible, the keys will stop responding or undesired effects will occur when using the 2 together.

Sure... I was puzzled for a while until I finally figured out that IME/keyboard drivers is the killer of copy/paste, especially with Tegic's (the company who write the driver for HTC) T9 (classic T9) or the newer xT9 (aka eT9, which is not compatible with standard copy/paste shortcuts).
I do believe the limitation is only on HTC SmartPhones devices and other devices using Tegic's drivers because my Wizard Pocket PC has no issues at all.
If anyone knows of a workaround or of a smartphone that uses xT9 and is compatible with the built-in Windows Mobile 6.1 Copy/Paste functions please speak up. Cheers!

Have you tried VitoCopyPaste by any chance? Take a look at my signature, my app includes VitoCopyPaste (on a time-limit since you don't want your Action key to always pop Vito). Basically if you press and hold your action button (middle of the D-pad) Vito will pop a menu allowing copy paste to occur. It works well on SmartPhones...
Thanks a LOT for this CAB! It works on the BenQ E72 as well (when it only had "abc" entry method).
Thanks again!

[APP] Yota Contacts VGA/WVGA/QVGA (Feb 3rd)

This is Yota Contacts, an application lifted off the HTC Quartz (MAX 4G) which is WiMax device on russian operator, Yota's network.
It was initially in russian and a different resolution, but a team of great people (AllTheWay, CloudyFa, fhiesh, Yozi and last, but not least myself) helped traslate it English and 10 other lanaguages.
This first post is for the english version, for VGA devices only. CAB's for QVGA and WVGA devices, can be found three posts down.
Please read the information below before you install any of the cabs in this thread and PLEASE search before you post questions.
Benefits:
- Yota Contacts completely replaces the built in windows Contacts application.
- New dialer that's much faster then the built in dialer.
- Favorites groups
- Better onscreen keyboard\
- Much more, which I'm sure you'll find once you install it and play around...
Minuses:
- Will NOT read your SIM contacts. You would have to copy them to the phone memory if you want to use Yota Contacts.
- No easy VoiceMail access (holding down 1 doesn't work). The "New Voicemail" link on TF3D's homescreen also doesn't work.
- No "face down mute" feature.
- No "bluetooth on/off switch" while in a call.
- No "Slide to Answer".
- No "Company Directory" lookup if you're hooked up to a company Exchange server.
- This app doesn't display special characters in the contact names.
- S2U2's caller ID functions HAVE to be disabled if you have the Yota Dialer also installed. (S2U2 conflicts with the Yota Dialer)
- If you have a password lock on the phone, it will impede your ability to answer the phone quickly, because you will have to input the password before you can hit "Answer" on the screen.
- No video calling or "Videoshare" (yet)
Most of the minuses listed above can be avoided by simply installing the Yota Contacts application ONLY. You will find cabs for that at the end of this post.
Please keep in mind that none of the people involved in translating this application, actually developed it. This application came from the HTC Quartz, which is a WiMax phone operating on the Yota network in Russia. Therefore, any requests you might have, to add this or that, CAN NOT, and I can't stress this enough, CAN NOT, even be considered. The reason ? We don't have the source code for the applications included in this package. All we can do is make graphical skin changes or translations to other languages... to a point. Also, the keyboard can't be extracted either, it's an integral part of YotaContacts.exe.
One more thing to remember is this app takes up quite a bit of RAM (about 9 megs for the full version and about 4-5 for the Yota Contacts only version), which on a Diamond, Touch Pro, Touch HD, etc is not really an issue, since we have plenty of RAM. On a QVGA device, you should consider this before installing it, ESPECIALLY if you only have 64 Megs of RAM to start with.
The application takes a few seconds (at least) to start the first time you use it after you turn the phone on. It's recommended to keep it running in the background after first use, instead of closing it down. You can easily setup an "exception" in HTC's task manager for it.
The cabs don't modify any of the softkeys on the Today screen, but if you would like a link anyway, you can download a cab from the second post to do that.
Now, on to the good stuff.
-----------------------------------
The following three cabs contain the Yota Contacts and the Yota Dialer application. They both take over the Contacts and Dialer function of your operating system. You HAVE to reboot after install these cabs, even if the installation wizard doesn't prompt you to.
Base VGA version + Dialer >
MobileMatt Mirror
TF3D skin version + Dialer(shown in the last screenshot) >
MobileMatt Mirror
Skin1 skin version + Dialer(shown in the next to last two screenshots) >
MobileMatt Mirror
The following cabs contain ONLY the Yota Contacts application, the Yota Dialer has been left out. These cabs also work with CDMA devices (Alltel, Telus, Sprint, Verizon, etc...)
Base VGA: Download
TF3D VGA(shown in the last screenshot): Download
Skin1 version(shown in the next to last two screenshots): Download
This post reserved for extras for ANY version
If you would like to assign either the Left of the Right softkey on your TF3D Today screen to Yota Contacts, please download and install one of the cabs below (the names should be self explanatory).
The other cabs, change the language of the Yota Contacts application to the language code in the cab's name. So look for your country's language code and download the appropriate cab, install and reboot. This does NOT change the language of the dialer. There aren't that many translations available for the dialer, yet.
More translations available three posts down
This post reserved for cabs and screenshots of the QVGA version.
Base skin + Dialer QVGA version: Download
Base skin CONTACTS ONLY: Download
If your Today screen has a shortcut to "Phone" and you get an error trying to open "cprog.exe", edit that shortcut to point to "dprog.exe" and you should be fine.
This post reserved for the WVGA version.
Link to Yota Contacts: Download
Link the Yota Contacts + Dialer: Download
Great work, waiting for QVGA version to test on my Kaiser.
Thanks for sharing.
THANKs .
More translation changeover cabs available...
Sim Card Contacts
I would just like to get this clear with myself and maybe any other GSM members does this contacts app support Sim contacts?
No, it doesn't
After installed with QVGA version....
Nice looking
and bugs
I would try to fix that for you, but unfortunately I'm not the original author of the QVGA cabs and I can't test on my phone to try and fix the problem. If anybody wants to take a crack at it, you can edit USSDskin.zip in the cab to adjust it down to QVGA size

I've had this installed on my Xperia for a while now and although I love it, I suspect it's extremely power hungry. My battery drains in under 1 day now as opposed to ~3 before I used yota.
Anyone else experience this?
Hey all,
first of all I would like to say that I really like this app.
I have one big issue.
After installing the app my connection with my Parrot CK3100 goes crazy.
When connect to my phone there is already a call been made???
My contacts aren't sync anymore.
I use a HTC Touch Pro.
What is wrong, or what do I wrong?
Who can help me, I would realy love to use this app.
I use HTC HD but nothing works, does not load the phone numbers in your address book.
I use the VGA version.
The log can not display even call calls
Works fine on my Touch HD. Your contact's probably don't show up because they're on your SIM card. This app can only read contacts that are in your phone memory.

My way of cooking

Hi all, I decide to make this small tutorial because it is really difficult to make a rom if you don't have that device
so this is the way I make my rom's, I know there are a lot of other ways to make a rom but this is the way I cook.
And I want to ask all other cookers to help me with this, because I simply don't know everything about cooking, I'm still learning.
PART 1
First of all the kitchen.
The kitchen I use is the one from airextreme which can be found HERE thanks to airextreme
After downloading the kitchen, just install the kitchen by example c:\kitchen
Now we have to add the stock rom in the kitchen, the great thing about this kitchen is that you don't have to
extract the exe file from the original rom, the kitchen will do that for you.
If you have a NEON400 download your rom HERE
All other shipped rom's can be found in conflippers thread HERE thanks to conflipper
To add the stockrom just run oskitchen.exe as an administrator and the kitchen is asking you for the device,
if your device is not in the list just type a name for your device.
Search for RUU_signed.nbh if you extracted the exe file or just search for your original exe file
by example (WWE_2.16.831.3_Radio_NikeMR_1-65.29.22_signed_Ship.exe) if you didn't extract the exe file.
And let the kitchen do his job, after the kitchen is finished, you just made your own kitchen.
And if you all can see the kitchen exactly know which files you must recmoded so you don't have to do that.
PART 2
Where can I found the latest wm 6.5 builds and how to add them into my kitchen.
There are a lot of site's where you can found the latest wm 6.5 builds, I just have to ask the owners if I have permission to add
the link here (If you send me a pm, I can send you the links). But I don't think it is a problem if I upload the latest build.
How to add a new wm 6.5 build, just click on Import and choose Import a windows mobile build.
As you can see there are 3 options to add a new build.
Just search for the new build and click on it and then start importing.
Now you've added the latest wm 6.5 build into your kitchen.
In post 3 I placed the tested builds, you don't have to import that one I already made it ready for the kitchen.

One more question
I have a problem with the built (21907) you posted:
After I imported it into the kitchen it says:
"No locales are available. Make sure the OEM_Lang_LCID folders and their matching
WM LCID ones are present.
If i try to make a rom with the languagefolder from the stock-rom it gives an error that there happend an error when building the language
Ok, I will check the build and see if there is something missing, I thought I used it for cooking a NEON400 rom but didn't get any feedback so I will check this and keep you informed.
Greetz,
Hi rataplan. i look at WM 6.5 button style at bottom bar.
The normal build SYS for kitchen always result button with circle style for any button or option on the bottom bar. i look at your custom ROM and found that the circle style is change into the rectangle style for any button on the bottom bar. can u tell how to change that ? - sorry newbie.
Thanks for posting this tutorial! I will try soon!

If I understand you, I didn't change that but that is just another build which uses the old style, I used liven's themes to customize it a little bit, you can find livven's theme's HERE.

Hi lion_snake1 just to answer your both questions, I think it isn't a problem from the kitchen but a problem from build 24619, I didn't use that build so it would only be guessing what it could be, so I suggest to take a look at Da_G's thread if there is an answer for your question. You can find Da_G's thread here.

I checked this build and it's working, the builds are not device specific, so you can use every build you find, the only thing that is important is that you use dpi 96.
Regards,
But do you know how to solve this error: "No locales are available. Make sure the OEM_Lang_LCID folders and their matching
WM LCID ones are present.

I think that you forgot to check under Localization Settings your Locales, you can find that under the tab Project Settings.
If not give me some more info.
