i think i messed up my friend's hermes for good - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

this is my first post and as you'll learn quickly i'm a total newbie. I'm such a newbie that you'll find a picture of me on the dictionary entry of noob. anyway, on to my problem.
About a month ago i purchased a HTC Hermes, more specifically AT&T 8525. My cell phone provider is T-Mobile. I googled AT&T 8525 unlocker and sure thing found this great unlocker. Free HTC Hermes SIM & CID Unlocker *New* version v3a. Needless to say the unlocking worked perfectly. My phone ran Windows Mobile 6.0 Pro.
Fast forward about three and a half weeks ago and my friend got the same phone off ebay. He has T-Mobile too and I told him i would unlock it for him since mine worked flawlessly. Well, his phone runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 Pro. I started the update process on the computer and here's what the screens looked like
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
My phone did not ask me to press yes. Then i checked the boxes on the setup and was ready to continue
After pressing next it showed this
The progress bar remained at zero then this screen came up
http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j120/mnn2k/phone/Untitled8.jpg
I have tried over and over again and get the same error. I have tried using different USB ports, USB cables, and two computers, both running vista but i have had no luck. now the phone is be in the tri-color mode and it won't do anything. All the screen says is
HERM100
IPL-1.01
HERM100
SPL-1.40.Olipro
If i can't fix it i guess i will have to give my friend my phone and will lose a lot of money. Any help is appreciated. I tried doing a search and all the posts can't help me since i don't know much at all when it comes to phones.

Flash it with a stock rom from the wiki (for the country and provider the hermes is from)

its a United States AT&T 8525. i tried flashing it with the Official HTC WM6 ROM from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316726 but now the progress bar goes to 11 then it gives me the same error. I'll have to try it on from a XP. on the Readme it says there might me a problem with ports. How do i check if there is a problem with that.

If i were you i would flash hard-spl v7 before you flash another rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
If you are on vista make sure you download the latest version of wmdc from microsoft.
Then flash the most recent at&t rom from here
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Available Original Shipped WM6 ROM Versions
If this still doesn't work use an xp machine. If you can't use an xp machine there is a guide that explains how to swap the wmdc drivers for active sync ones.
http://www.anichillus.net/index.php?topic=21.0

why does everyone seem to point the main cause of problems to vista?
I have vista installed and i dont have any problem flashing with WMDC (latest version installed) and have updated vista with sp1 , i did used to have problems sync'ing the phone before i installed sp1 but afterwards i have had no problems and flashed a number of phones for people who had experienced the same thing as MNNK.
Anyway enough of my moaning. Basically i would flash an original rom. then try flashing hardspl . If the HTC one wont work try the network rom, that it was originally on, T-Mobile.
http://member.htc.com/downloadfiles/RomCode/TMobile/Hermes_WM6_TMUK_3.60.110.4.zip
THATS THE ONLY LINK I HAVE FOR T-MOBILE yeah i know its the uk one but might be handy for someone from the uk browsing this page because of the same problem
Or that at&t rom that johnston411 said

i found Schaps ROM and that worked. thanks for all the help. In your opinion which is the best cooked ROM.

Now you opened a can of worms.... Everyone thinks something else is best, & it is for them..... A rom is a personal choice so asking whats best is like your girlfriend asking if you think shes fat, THERE IS NO RIGHT ANSWER.....
Seriously though, do some research on the Hermes Mobile 6 part of the forum as I believe someones started an updated list of current roms.
Cheers.....

Okay, i'll stay away from that. but i still can't flash HardSPL on my phone. it gives me error 260.
1) i uncheck the allow USB connections on WMDC
2). i run the SPL-HERMES.exe on my phone and connect to usb.
3). run ruu_wrapper.exe
I also read the guide here http://www.mrvanx.org/hermes_guide/hardspl and nothing.
Then i tried using the Unlocker but that gives me the same error 260. i have tried the SD card method but mine is a 4gb microSDHC. my phone recognizes the card and i renamed the .nbh file. So i launch spl-herm.exe and nothing happens. i do hit the power button. still nothing.
When running SSPL-HERM.exe it says i have SPL-1.09.ds. when i do a manual bootload it says i have SPL-1.40.Olipro

what did you rename the image as when you placed it onto the sd card?
I know a lot of people have renamed the file incorrectly?

Also, I know people who SWEAR they formated fat32 but when I did it again using the same card freshly formatted it worked.
Cheers...

i did format it with fat32, quick format and normal format, default allocation size and 4096 bytes. i know i said i am a newbie when it comes to phones but i'm not one when it comes to computers. i would rather have Hard-SPL flashing first though, and also i have no Radio ROM currently on the phone.

The fact you have no radio is probably your BIGGEST problem. The no GSM error is what makes most bricks. Up til now there is no reliable surefire fix.
Looks like you have a PDA on your hands but no phone functionality. You can load an os only rom - generally they are the cooked roms, but you have more chance of jumping off a cliff and instantly growing usable wings than fixing this in a hurry...
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. but thats why the unlocker won't flash on, it replaces the radio rom to something that allows the sim/cid to be unlocked.
You should still be able to flash Hard SPL on but don't pick any roms with the radio cooked in as they WON'T flash.
Cheers...

yeah i kinda thought that was the case. Since the unlocker replaces the Radio ROM, but the frustrating thing is that the HardSPL isn't flashing. Stupid VISTA. Let's say i am able to flash HardSPL. can't i flash a Radio ROM only? or the original ROM found on the wiki.

Maybe, people somteime can recover their radio roms flashing a radio only rom or the original shipped rom, BUT, if this doesn't work then there seems little hope of you actually fixing this problem. There are quite a few threads with numerous "I got it working" posts but then those same people are back the next day bemoaning the fact that it didn't work. If by some miracle you do get it working, make sure you post what happened and how you fixed it but wait a day or two to check it really is fixed or just faking you out.
Good luck, I think you're gonna need it....
And don't get me started on Vista

How to Unlock your 8525 and Go to SA 1.35 all steps and links included

These are the instructions I spent many hours looking for. Also, I know most people know, but just in case... Loading a ROM does wipe your device. Make sure you have all your info synced or backed up someplace.
- Doc
First, I Followed andykwg's instructions to the letter:
(here is his Post, but in case you dont want to go there, here are the instructions)
ANDYKWG:
Thanks POF, my 8525 is unlocked, but I have gone through hell with Vista so just to let you all know that "don't try these upgrades on VISTA".
I have read many posts and finally got it to unlock. In any case, here is what I did (on a XP box with activeSYNC 4.2 - it is running all the time for each of the steps below):
1) on XP, connect the phone to XP and make sure ActiveSync see the phone. Run the exe in 1.30 ROM for Cingular to download the SPL to 1.04. After this the phone will reboot/restart itself.
2a) On XP, with ActiveSync running and connected, run POF's MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe within the unlocker v2a xip file to upgrade the radio to version 1.16. If it fails with ERROR 114, go to step (3); else go to step (2b).
2b) If the first time failed, DON'T TOUCH THE PHONE. Run the exe again and the second time should run fine. There is a 114 error at the end and it is OK. Once you get the 114 error, soft-reset the phone before next step.
3) On the phone, flash with POF's unlocker (v2a) ON THE PHONE MEMORY HERM_Unlock_v2a.exe (in the zip file same as above download for unlock v2a). There is a success notice at the end.
That is it. Hope this help someone.
Andy
DocHoliday:
Now, what Andy Doesn't say here, and people have asked, is Yes, you are now unlocked and SuperCID.
Ok, I went a step further.
I loaded the South African 1.35 ROM. Why? Faster and about 15% more battery life to boot! There are a few things to consider before you go to SA 1.35. Your boot loader will now be SPL-1.09. Make sure your device is unlocked before you go to this ROM! If it is unlocked and SuperCID, it will remain unlocked and SuperCID after the ROM Update. If you installed the update before unlocking, I think you are out of luck. I have seen some threads that say you can change back to SPL-1.04, but nothing conclusive.
3 things you will notice after you load this ROM and how to fix them:
1. Keyboard Special Characters are out of Sync with the Keyboard (-, _, ;, :, etc...)
Most people said a registry entry fixed theirs, it did not for me. Here is what worked. Download this Extended ROM. Copy ShortString_Keypad_XML.CAB to your SD, then run it. Softboot, then Keyboard Special Characters are fixed!
2. Keyboard BackLight:
Disable the light sensor! With the SA ROM, the light sensor is too sensitive and doesnt work properly. To disable: Settings (on the 8525), Buttons, Backlight tab - Clear The Checkmark! Keyboard backlight now works when you press any key.
3. May not be a problem for some, but Phone skin is God Awful Lime Green! Yuck! (my opinion...)
Fix Phone Skin an download the skin of your choice...
Anyway, Hope this Helps someone. Took me a while to research and I wish I had my post when I first started. Many thanks to POF and the other contributors to XDA without which we would be limited to the ROM's the Carriers stuck us with! Good Luck all!
great
Thanks!!!! I want the perfect 8525 rom/radio/ext rom. Trying to decide what radio to include.
sucess with cingular 8525 1.34.502.1
thanks d0ch0liday..i loaded a t-mobile sim and started working right away.
Glad you guys got some use out of it.
It may be buried somewhere in the instructions, but definitely make sure you have a solid USB connection to your computer. Definitely DO NOT try an upgrade going through a USB hub!
Also make sure your battery is well charged... ;-)
Excellent advice, thanks...
some folks at ebay are selling Unlocked 8525s (like in this link), i am curious that if I buy one of these, will it be definitely SuperCID?
Hi there...long time no using a WM device and all the things with this CID and locked devices become a bit complicated to me...So I bought a M3100 unlocked with pof V2 and I have successfully upgraded my Radio version to 1.27.00...but now I want to upgrade the ROM too...I assume that my device is CID unlocked as I was able to upgrade the radio only...but a strange thing...I have no extended ROM on it...so can I upgrade my current rom with the SA 1.35 rom without problems...?
Regards and sorry for the noob question

Probably not SuperCID. These look like they may have been obtained directly from HTC or they may be test units. They say new, but you new means never opened. It doesnt tell you how long they have been on the shelf. Since they are HTC, even if they were test units you would probably be ok. Anyway, you would probably still have to do POF's unlock to get it to SuperCID. Hope this helps...

i really don't think they are test units..any way, do you think it's a good idea to buy one of these? they're like 200 bucks cheaper than tytn... btw, can I update them later on through Cingular's website? and is it possible for my device to become Locked on some carrier again if i flash it with the wrong Rom?

Definitely not SIM locked. If it is not SuperCID and you plan to switch ROMs from different carriers, then make sure you CID unlock it prior to do any upgrade.
thank you pof!
just one more thing, have they ever shipped 8525 with bootloader 1.09? if they do, is it possible in any way to flash a rom from another carrier after CID Unlocking it?

First this is an excellent Primer for those of us with Cingular phones ( or people like me who have one on order and want to be ready to tinker )
Has anyone found a reason that the SA ROM causes the light sensor issue?
Also is there a way to bring the phone back to virgin/stock if the need were to arrise (as in the phone died)?
quick question from 8525 users: what is the input voltage range for 8525's travel charger? is it 110-220 or just 110?

Not sure why the light sensor happens. I also noticed it happened with the 1.30 ROM as well. This is the ROM you load to downgrade to the 1.04 bootloader. I didnt really like the sensor anyway as it definately did not do well in ambient light. As far as getting it back to Cingular stock, just load the latest Cingular ROM 1.34 and it should be close enough. Thanks for the compliment. I wrote this just for that purpose. I spent quite a while looking for all the answers, I learned alot, which is i think POF's and the others intent. But it was very consuming and wanted to save others the uncertainty of not following in someone's footsteps. Again, thanks.

Apparently I have a very old ROM on my 8525 and wanted to upgrade.
ROM Version: 1.34.502.1
ROM Date: 09/26/07
Radio Version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol Version: 32.53.7018.01H
This is the first time that I have received a message to upgrade. I have NOT had the phone that long. I'd say a couple of months at the most.

You will need something like Paralells or bootcamp to do it. I would recommend thoroughly testing the connection reliability. I use a 15" MBP C2Duo all the time - but the connection can be tricky - test with some flash screen flashes or something relatively harmless. Check out www.mrvanx.org for help on flashing in general.
oops... LOL It's supposed to be 09/26/06
yes I use parallels and decided to try it on my own ATM. I'm in the middle of doing it now.
The screen has 4 colors on it (red, green, blue, white)
HERM100
IPL-1.01
HERM100
SPL-1.06
and on the white area it says USB
I decided to stop and wait for a reply
I disconnected and hit the reset button on the bottom of the phone. should I update since my ROM version is quite old?

Yes, but only if you will read the guide I posted first. If done properly, there is little to fear. If not, then you could screw up your device. If you will read through the guide and follow each step (incliding HardSPL flashing), then GO FOR IT! If not, best leave it for another time.
Thanks, I'm looking at the site already. man these types of phones are completely different than the other types of phones that I've previously dealt with. the lingo is completely different
thanks though. I'll be sure to read the guides.
ok so i tried to follow the guide on my MBP C2Duo and when getting to the part with the Hard SPL I got an error about my connection. Am I doing something wrong?
Fair warning - I'm using my unlocked ATT/Cingular 8525 on Telstra in Oz and the upgrade removed my ability to access the internet with my Telstra SIM.
Darn it.

How are running windows - paralells, bootcamp, ???
What version of windows - XP, Vista?
Does ActiveSync see the connection in windows?
Before you upgrade, there are a few issues you should know about the new version.
1.- You won't be able to access streaming media through IE,you can only access streming through pay software included (Att music, XM, etc) and you won't be able to use your own subscription to XM, you'll have to pay ATT anyway to use it.
2.- You won't be able to go back to any previous version unless you use an external bootloader
3.- The alarm goes off only when you have flight mode off, (I always turn it on at 5 pm so guys at work or customers won't bother me)

Just re-enter your Telstra carrier's GPRS settings, mms as well if you use it.
Most custom roms and definately other carrier's roms will not re-customize these for you. You should save off the relevant cab files from your EXT-ROM before you flash with an "unapproved (by your carrier)" ROM.

I had to enable Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC > Enable advanced network functionality in order for ActiveSync / WMDC to see the phone and launch. However when following the tutorial on the site that you posted I kept receiving an error stating to check my connection. I followed everything to the T and still couldn't get it to work. Finally frustrated I just tried the new ROM that was posted and I was able to successfully upgrade it.
The weird thing is that even though I received the message to allow an unaproved (by your carrier) message and allowed it... It seemed to do what it's supposed to. Meaning that I got the screen with the 4 colors and the new version number and everything but for some reason the phone would NOT restart and then eventually the software would time out.
Any ideas? am I still able to do that update?
This was done through Parallels not through bootcamp and I did everything required for Vista prior to doing the update. This version of Vista is Ultimate OEM and fully licensed. I also had to download the WMDC from microsoft as stated in the tutorial as well. That installed but same problems
Thanks
Now that I have the AT&T ROM loaded I do NOT have "enable advanced network fnctionality" enabled and I have successfully connected my MBP to my phone via bluetooth PAN. I am able to get online with that connection type and I have also been able to browse the web on the phone through IE.
So, I am not exactly sure where we are atm. It sounds like you *did* get the new ROM on the phone? Things seem to be working?
Is there more that you need? Are you just trying to figure out the USB connection to the MBP now?
Sorry, but I am confused

yes, I did get the new ROM onto the phone but I did NOT do what you had asked me to do though. I tried to follow the tutorial BEFORE doing the AT&T ROM since that should keep everything safe from harm but it didn't work. being discouraged at all the time I spend on that side I decided to just load the ROM that AT&T told me to download and that was a success.
Will I or do I need to do the Hard SPL and other things on the site you posted earlier to make sure my info isn't messed up when modding the phone later on?

So Hopelessly Lost!

Even after reading this forum all nite, I am still soooo confused, maybe too much new info in m'head. At any rate, I am trying to UG from WM5 to WM6 and am having a heck of a rough time. Everything goes good until it actually starts the process, at which time I get the 260 Connection Error. After plenty of research on here, I decided to try to "flash" the ROM, to no avail, for nothing happened. I can get into bootloader mode but then nothing else happens (perhaps I'm not waiting long enough? How long should I wait?) and I never see the screen pictured here - http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_SDCardFlashing - so I just give up and reset. I am currently downloading the HardSPL utility so I can try flashing after the IPL and SPL ugrades. But I do have some questions still --
(1) Does my phone need to be "unlocked" to do this and how can I tell if it is or isn't?
(2) Can I just use the ROM that I downloaded from the HTC site or must I use one found somewhere on this forum?
Any other advice? All will be appreciated. Thanx.
Oh, yeah -- I'm working with a Cingular 8525 Hermes [HERM100 model number] Pocket PC. It's specs are:
ROM version 2.15.502.3
ROM date 04/09/07
Radio version 1.40.30.00
IPL 1.03
SPL 1.11
Have you read this http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeForBeginners ?
Re:
Yes, I have, plus all the links branched from there. After about 3 hours of reading, I felt ready to try flashing, but it didn't work. The HardSPL utility is done downloading, so when I get home I'll try that and hope I finally get a successful upgrade. If not, I'll be back to the forums. Thanx!
What ROM are you upgrading to? The official AT&T ROM? I'd try that first if you're not already.

What operating system are you using? If its Vista you MUST use Mr. Vanx's guide to get past the connection problem. The standard Vista HTC driver is wrong when we want to flash rom's in bootloader mode and vista WMDC. Get it here:
MR VANX's VISTA GUIDE
Hard SPL is great after that. Just remember you warranty may be void if you have to go to AT&T for repairs and the see that bootloader. You shouldn't need Hard SPL to flash the standard AT&T rom or VP3G's or other AT&T based ROM's, but better safe than sorry.
Be sure to close EVERYTHING in the taskbar! Don't start any programs, allow any updates to mess around with the computer while its flashing..In fact, I disable my AV program and internet connection totally when I flash ROMS. (My Kaspersky started updating and virus scanning during my 1st flash..sucker froze and freaked me out!)
Once I dealt with unlocking and connection issues, I flashed the standard AT&T ROM, performed a hard reset immediately and then connected via WMDC and synced everything. I tested it for a few hours then decided to flash VP3G's excellent AT&T based ROM v3.62.3..I like to do a hard reset immediately after flashing to burn everything in...I've seen others in this forum do the same.
Another ROM I've found fun is S64's(Starbase64) 3.62 WWE v9 - It's not AT&T based but you can get WPBEAR's Config files to set your Medianet and proxy. There are other At&T settings CABs out there like Dr. Puttinghams. S64 ROM also includes Advanced Config 1.1 to set your keyboard to Cingular mapping.
Good Luck!

My desktop PC is running Windows XP...
After trying the HardSPL method - which upgraded perfectly - I continue to have the above-mentioned problems; 260 Connection Error and inability to move beyond the tri-color screen to the one pictured on the page which instructs how to flash via SD card.
Thanx for the list of ROMs I can try. For the record, I have been using the "official" one I downloaded from the HTC website. *sigh* I guess I'll next look for the tutorial I saw somewhere around here on how to upgrade from the tricolor screen [or something like that, I think it was], as well as your advice.
But I do have another question -- how do I format the SD card? The tutorial I used on flashing with it mentioned formatting so I'll retry it with the card newly formatted (I didn't because it said I could just delete everything off the card OR format it).
I'll let you know how it goes...
Ahhh...Sorry for your troubles...I didn't have luck catching an upgrade from the SD Card method on my 8525 either.
I know it seems a bit much but, is your active sync working correctly? Upgraded to 4.5 and all that? Can you sync and Backup all your data then try uninstal, reboot, re-installing AS?
I wonder what would happen if one tried Mr Vanx's instructions on a Win XP box?
I also had heard somewhere about messing around with when Active sync is started. Also as a last ditch, maybe try this from the HTC Wiki:

Just another tip... Try a different usb port. I've found that sometimes certain usb ports behave differently during the upgrade procedures. So, far I've upgraded three 8525's on Win XP and only one gave me the problem you've described and connecting the sync cable in another port corrected the problem.

OMG! SHIHAYADREAMER! That was JUST the TICKET! I read it and realized that I'd been doing it right all along, I just didn't realize I was! THIS time, I hooked up my cable at the very beginning and let it go. Before, I'd started waiting to hook it up until the instructions asked if I had because I'd gotten to the tricolored screen (the bootloader?) the 1st time and figured I did something wrong. Thanx to that forum, I returned to what I did the very first time and got victory! *falls down sobbing and weeping with joy* I wasted 25 hours because of fear! OMG! *dances around, singing* I've got WM6! I've got WM6!
I know that being reminded to turn off my firewall and stop all the programs in the taskbar played a big role, as well. But I just give a big "Thanx" (on Thanksgiving! *LOL*) to everyone who answered this board because you all helped me so very very much.

If I were you I would use the Titan relocker to default to your stock bootloader. Then install the Stock Sprint ROM from my HTC unlock tools directory. Now after that is done reinstall the olipro 2.40 bootloader. You need to be booted up to a functioning WM OS. Make sure memory card is removed and follow this. Run the Olipro 2.40 unlocked Bootloader and follow its instructions until it comes up saying you must unplug and plug the phone back in. PLEASE dont miss that, DO NOT hit a key to continue UNTIL you have UNPLUGGED the phone waited a moment, then plugged it back in. Then you can hit a key and continue but PAUSE again and minimize that window. Now right click the Active sync icon on your PC's taskbar. Pick connection settings and then look for the Box with Allow USB connections. Clear the box (disable) the usb connections. Then click OK. Now open the window back up and click to continue. That will exit the Bootloader and reset the phone.
Now you can flash A GPS RADIO 3.35.04, 3.42.40, OR 3.42.50 AND THEN A CUSTOM ROM using an RUU or by using the MicroSD method. Hope this helps. But your problems sound like a bad flash.
PS: If you jumped into custom ROM flashing not knowing what you are doing. That is on you.. This thread should not be in this subforum to begin with so if you still cant get up and running I will gladly have it moved.
Thanks RyanMogul6800
1.- can you post the Olipro 2.40 because I found one in this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1941281&postcount=6) but I dont know if is the correct version, I leave you a pics abouy my problem
2.- you say that I need to be running windows mobile to apply again the Olipro or it can be apply in radio mode?
This is when I instal the multicarrier light version

No problem buddy, I am here to help. And your English is very good. I think by fit you mean fix, but I know what you mean.
Also I just released my Carrierless versions. Click my name and goto my homepage then look at the folders on the right of the 4shared page that comes up. Also if you want to try my 21054 6.1 builds they are also accessible by clicking on the "other share space" link. Versions 1.5 and 3.0, Zero G is another Carrierless version. Very light on resources. But Zero G is stripped bare. Meant for enthusiasts only.
1.5 is the same as 1.1 just a newer build. 3.0 is the same as 2.0 just a newer build.
well i do the step of apply the relocker and run the "RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.35.651.2_RS_TITAN_3.35.04_4350H_SPCS_AM_Ship" it start installing the OS but when it was in 11% chance the PDA screen to the 3 color bars and sent me a error menssage
I did something wrong?

Yea remove the memory card and only use a main usb port on your Computer (port built into the motherboard, not a hub)
Also I forgot to mention, after each bad flash use the Exitbl.exe to get out of bootloader. Then re-put it back in bootloader manually to try again. Use Winrar, or 7zip to extract the contents of olipro 2.40 into a folder to get the Exitbl.exe.
Also since you dont have a functioning Windows Mobile OS to use Synced Active Sync (green icon in taskbar) are you trying to flash the Stock Sprint ROM with Active Sync connections disabled in the PC's taskbar (icon should not be green, should have a little x over a white icon.
I noticed in your screenshots it doesnt look like you are using Windows XP..
If you are using Vista, or Windows 7 then I cant help you. Those are not recommended operating systems for phone flashing..
You might have to use a friends computer with Windows XP and install active sync 4.5 on it. etc..
Im usin windows xp, well i cant do that the "TitanRelocker" run very well, i have the mogul coneccted to the pc, and run the "TitanRelocker" I press a key and later send me this menssage, I choose yes a lot of times but always send me the same menssage in bootloader mode

You said before you already used the Titan Relocker you only have to relock it once.. So your new objective is to Exitbl.exe (exit bootloader) disable active sync connections and get the Stock Sprint ROM to flash. And then from a functioning windows mobile OS and active sync re-enabled flash the Unlocked olipro 2.40 bootloader, then GPS radio, then Custom ROM.

Ok im done.. I guarentee if I had the phone in my hands I could get it fixed in 15 minutes tops..
This large disclaimer is in the beginning of my ROM threads for a reason..
Make sure you know what you are doing before you attempt to flash a Custom ROM onto your device!!
I had the same issue with flashing my phone.
I could not for the life of me get a radio to flash using a usb connection.
I had to use the non-highspeed 2gig SD card to flash my radio and then my first ROM. Worked first time. No fooling with computers that are not compatible with the flashing process.
use the search function, you will find the instructions....
cheers.......
and wow Ryan - you are extremely nice to have helped him along this far. You need to make a clear trouble shooting wiki page, and then point people in that direction.

I am the only one that tried to help this person from the moment he started this thread. If you didnt notice I tried everything under the sun. If this person does end up getting it, it will not be because of you. It will be because of what I taught him already finally getting through.
Drew, you do not help anyone. You put your in your two cents in lots of threads usually short answers that only mislead someone further. All someone has to do is click your name, and find all posts by this user and sit back read and say OMG what an idiot.
You have yet to make any contributions that help out any forum. You are just a bantering PITA. You say useless garbage to just up your post count.
I on the other hand, help people. I spend a lot of time on my ROMs and software. I dont use Navizon links to make money off of people like you try to do.
You think you are invincible or something buddy? Say one more thing about me and you will be repramanded or worse. Trust me on that..
Again I will state for you omegafunky. If you want step by step help pm and I can chat with you. I can help you fix your issues.

hd2 bootloader screen corrupted

Hi guys,
my bootloader screen appears to be corrupted.it doesnt show the PB81110 but instead shows a weird symbol and HX-BC
SPL-1.42.HSPL XE
cotullaHSPL
Image is attached below.
I did hard spl using HSPL 2 tool by cotulla, but i dont have the regular first line of the boot loader.
The problem is I cant get into my phone i cant install any rom or radio or do any kind of flashing and anything I try,the process stops or exits in the halfway, showing invalid device error or connection error.
I tried flashing through my SD card too but it too doesnt bring my phone back.
The error I get now on switching on the power button is
flash type 5510BCAD
power reason 1
BOOTUP_W_PWR_KEY_PRESSED.
I tried mulit-port tty and tried task 29 to unclutter the ROM too but it showed way too many errors.

1- when you originally installed hspl, did you get the confirmation "we did it" or whatever?
2- did you ever have the "right" hspl first line? not sure what hspl2 looks like, but you are right, it is different than hspl3.
3- when you flashed from sdcard, it most likely removed hspl. can you get to bootloader? if you can, you will be able to save the phone. if you can, what does it say?
4- what phone (us or not?) do you have? what rom were you using? what were you flashing?
Thank you so much for the reply.....

No, i never had the first line right.
But when i switch on off for many no of times and getinto the bootloader screen i get the first line correct, maybe 200 in one time but at those times when i eagerly try to connect to the PC i dont have the word 'serial" or 'USB" mentioned on the bottom white column of my bootloader of my mobile, and still if i ignore and try to connect to the PC the pc doesnt recognize my phone during that time.

I bought the phone in singapore, model no 'T8585';so it not a 1024 US.I am not particularly sure what ROM i was using all these days(i mean before the flashing).
I m a bit new to this flashing so initially i flashed it with 'RUU_Leo_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_3.14.707.3_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe' from htc singapore website and that is what led to the all the trouble...
I tried to unclutter it with Task29 provided by doloop and it didnt work out... but somehow after that i tried to flash with 'Duttys_2.5_5.23146.5.3.10_3.14_HD2_ML_Family_ROM_(V7)_ASIA-WWE' but nothing worked.
But after trying so many times.... i found that sometimes all the above stuff did complete the flashing and sometimes it didnt complete.
But whatever i did, whether the process of flashing completed or not i could not get the phone working.
The image i posted in the first post is what i get as bootloader screen.(on pressing the pwr+volUp)
When i press the power button i get a grey screen with text as
'flash type 5510BCAD
power reason 1
BOOTUP_W_PWR_KEY_PRESSED'
i further read the forums and I tried using a SD card to flash but it failed too at the radio install menu.
my MP-tty results are in the attachment of my first post.
I did run it like 4-5 times.Only once i got the results as expected. USB3.txt attachment.
I think the bootloader is corrupted.. but i dont know how to fix it.
Somewhere i read that JTAG tool(it costs 60% of the phone price) may help in writing a bootloader .. but it requires to open the phone and too much complication involved in it,which i dont want to deal.
IS there a 'soft' way to rescue my phone?
Srry to tell you this but you bricked your phone as I see it you installed an incompatible rom to you phone. But if you have hspl installed than all you do is go to bootloader mode connect phone to computer then install a stock rom.

Well, i too installed an incompatible ROM (I was NLD version, installed WWE) with HSPL, but the beauty of it is that HSPL allow to do this.
an incompatible rom wouldve been flashing a 1024 HD2 with 512, and he didnt do that.. Also, he used official HTC roms on the website, and ASIA it seems is the correct version for him to use (he had to input serial on HTC to dowload it)
Now, possibly his asian rom isnt compatible with HSPL..
I would be good to know what rom you started with before upgrading to 3.14
Did u install the 3.14 on top of your HSPL? (i know i did that too and had memory problems)
Im no expert (actually i was helped a lot from users here for flashing my week old HD2 into english) but i certainly know that limited access to bootloader is a *****. Try the flash from SD card (a 2go card is better i believe) with a STOCK ROM (download a year old one from HTC, not the 3.14 one).
Did u also try SSPL, instead of HSPL? i know that i didnt manage tro change my language with HSPL (my phone was blocked on 1 language) but worked fine on SSPL..
ANyways, sorry, i know how u must feel..
If all fails, go to the shop and take that 1/3 offer.. but get a guarantee from the guy that if he cant repair it, you dont pay anything
Ps: couldnt believe when u said this :
Thank you so much for the reply.....
I dont speak english in my country(india) so pardon my english!

Anyways, keep the forum updated on ur situation

Well, i too installed an incompatible ROM (I was NLD version, installed WWE) with HSPL, but the beauty of it is that HSPL allow to do this.
an incompatible rom wouldve been flashing a 1024 HD2 with 512, and he didnt do that.. Also, he used official HTC roms on the website, and
ASIA it seems is the correct version for him to use (he had to input serial on HTC to dowload it)
Now, possibly his asian rom isnt compatible with HSPL..

I think i had 1.66 ROM version,if my memory serves me right!
I installed 3.14 on top of my HSPL.
I didnt try SSPL.
I tried HSPL2 but it gave 'critical errors...blah...blah'
I thought of JTag repair at my place in chennai,india... but i dont want to experiment anymore with HD2.The phone had died.
Should have bought an Android phone... its lot easier to handle...
The glitches are less too.even if they have glitches there are more solutions.
Similar bootloader errors at my HTC center are managed by changing the mainboard.
When i am done,I guess its a new phone except for the screen and battery.... and couple of buttons.
other language forums:
Few vietnam and chinese guys have had similar problems like i did but they dont have solutions ....
So guys... if u have bootloader text errors .... its almost the end of the phone, unless someone in future finds a solution.(which is unlikely cos the WM 6 series platform is dead ).
Hey dude.... I was desperate in search of a solution.I 've never conversed with an English speaking(native) person before .I was overwhelmed with the reply by jsmccabe78 who is a senior member and i didnt want to sound rude or cheesy!
Anyways thank you so much guys for your replies!

Dude you mentioned you bought T8585. It's a clone dual sim HTC. Please correct me if im wrong.
But you might try eten-users forum and search for MTK HD9.
look for the procedure on how you can install the correct compatible ROM for your phone.
You have to order a special cable for you to flash the correct compatible ROM.
Remember, its a clone HTC phone and not an original one.
Problem solved. Thanks!
