it is left with a tricolor screen with
ONBL 1.17.0000
SPL 1.10.olip
if i update any rom it says invalid update tool error 300
can any one provide a working solution

There is only one fix.... that is hard reset the device without even powering it on .....and please search the forum completely... i have also posted a video on YOUTUBE about this ...!

i was having the same problem
Do the following steps !
1. Remove the battery, SIM card and SD Card of your phone and press the Power key for 20 seconds to draw out any residual power from the phone.
2. Replace the battery but not the SIM and SD card, and don't start the phone yet. Press and hold the Camera button and then press the Power button or Soft Reset button. Phone will come to boot loader mode (tricolor screen) and SPL 1.10.Olip will be displayed.
3. Connect the USB cable. The text USB will appear on the bottom of the screen.
4. On PC, go to the folder Orefkov in the folder extracted in step 1 and run the Mtty1_42.exe. Press the button "USB" in the window that opened.
5. In the window that opened, type the following command (don't use copy paste please) and press enter:

You'll see a response from phone.
6. Type the following command BUT DON'T PRESS ENTER YET:

ls boot.bin
Note : that is small L and small s in that command, dont mistake it with I.
Now, hold down the Camera button on phone, and press the enter key on computer. After a while, the screen will become White. Continue pressing the Camera button for 10 more seconds.
7. Now release the camera button, close the MTTY program and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe in the same folder, not the one outside it. That one is for RAM flashing that we will use later. Check the boxes in each step and click Next Next and then at last Update. Let it finish the process. Your phone will restart.
8. Now on the splash screen you'll see the info with updated SPL version. The version of SPL will be 1.07.Oref.

You need to take these steps :
1. Go to desktop, right click Computer, and select Manage. Go to Device Manager. Now under the section Mobile Devices, Double Click : Smartphone USB Sync.
2. On the Drivers tab, click "Update Driver..." button. On next screen click : "Browse my computer for driver software".
3. Click : "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computers". Click "Have Disk.." on next screen. Click "Browse..." and go to the folder extracted in step 1. There, go to USBDriverforActiveSyncVista folder. Here select the file "wceusbsh.inf" and click OK.
4. Click Next and finish the wizard.

I have a UK v1615 that came unlocked. I just inserted my Cyprus sim and it worked. A few others on the forums got theirs unlocked too.
He was well blocked.

Make sure you installed HardSPL as follows: power off and then press power on while keeping camera pressed, this will enter the so called bootloader mode and you see a tri-color screen (Red, Green, Blue). You should see "SPL-1.0 OliPof" on the second line in the top left corner. You can exit this mode by means of a "soft reset": press the reset button with the stylus. (use the hardspl software search where you extracted it)
2. Make a note of the radio version that is currently installed. You see the version strings in the splash screen which appears soon after power on (e.g. "R 1.27.14.09"). Since we will flash a special radio in step 5 you need to flash back your original radio in the last step. You can download radio roms from here.
3. Connect PC and Kaiser with a USB cable and keep it connected until the last step.
4. Power on the Kaiser and let it boot into Windows Mobile. On the PC make sure the activesync icon is green
5. After you unpacked the download (HTC_Kaiser_SIM_Unlock_v0.1.rar) you see directories "step1" and "step2". Go into "step1" and run KaiserCustomRUU.exe. This will flash the special patched radio rom. Follow the instructions until it is finished.
Note that you can also skip step 6. and proceed with step 7.
6. Power off your Kaiser and insert a 'strange' SIM, i.e. a SIM from another provider than the one your phone is locked to.
7. Once Windows Mobile has booted up it will (usually after you have entered the usual 4-digit PIN) show a window called "Simlock" and a textbox where you can enter a 8-digit unlockcode. Now perform a soft reset by pressing the reset button *but* at the same time keep the camera button pressed. If you did it well you will be back in bootloader mode and you see the tri-color screen. The best technique is to press and hold the camera button first and then shortly press the reset button with the stylus.
8a. right-click activeync icon and uncheck "Allow USB connections" from Connection Settings
8b. On your PC go into the "step2" directory and run "kaiser-simunlocker.exe". If all went well you will see the unlockcode on your monitor and your Kaiser is being restarted automatically.
8c. right-click activeync icon and check "Allow USB connections" from Connection Settings
You should see this:

[] Done, enter the unlockcode
[] And then flash your original radio
Press Enter to exit
mine unlockcode was 44080317

i have htc gene100 dead (because of wrong upgrade and wrong spl.) when i want to upgrade with each version ,i recive this error : "get newer update utility " or " Invalid update tool error" . i try mtty (unbrick with mtty) and when the screen becom white and i want to upgrade that story repeat. Please help me . please ....
(I read other posts but i cant find any solution)

There is a simple repair tutorial
1. Turn off your cell phone into the tri-color screen.
2. In the PC, open the Task Manager to end the "wcescomm.exe" process.
3. The phone line to connect USB and PC, mobile phone screen in the lower left-hand corner the "USB";
the first time, there will be connected to install the driver.
4. running mtty1_42.exe, the interface of choice in the "USB".
5. Mtty1_42.exe input of the current window: can not paste
(1): Enter a Return
(2): set 32 1
(3): Enter a Return
6. To wait for information to complete the rolling
7. To continue in the window, type:
(1): ls boot.bin first
(2): hold down the camera button
(3): Enter a Return
8. Waiting for white screen , After a few seconds release the camera button.

you must see serial number phone if SN:HT8XXX you have NEW GENE.if SN:HT7XXX YOU have OLD GENE and use best ruu_signed.nbh then use mtty software for unbrick phone.
then use mtty software and see white screen you must again install Microsoft ActiveSync and use ROMUpdateUtility.exe .

my phone is old. I install Active sync again (it didnt connect to activesync) and I did whatever you told but ... no result. the same as past

i hav got the same problem but i am not able to solve it i use win vista n it does not have any active sync..... wot should i do in that case..

there are certain extra drivers to be downloaded and used in vista....

Hello.
I tried to update with the ROM from SD card, but it failed.
My phone doesn't boot after that - it hangs up showing just splashscreen and some info -
ONBL 1.07.0000
SPL 1.10.0lip
GSM 02.71.90
OS 1.8.0.0
Hard reset didn't help.
I tried to flash ROM through RUU (device still goes into bootloader by pressing camera+reset/power), but it said
ERROR [200]: Invlid Update Utility
Please get newer Update Utility
Is there any way to flash my device? =\

then it didn't work.
Mtty connects to the phone, it even says that bootlader patched, enters the "White screen" but RUU that is situated in the "Orefkov" folder says still the same: ERROR [200]: Invalid Update Tool
And btw, Orefkov method is for new gene only, am i right?
And I have an old one. And it's already have 1.10.0lip SPL, that allows custom ROM flashing.

ya..Your SPL is patched and u have old gene
Now u can Flash Any custom rom from here(just No stock roms)
Problem was solved by deliting Active Sync, cleaning registry with CCcleaner and installing Active Sync after that...

When I Would Like To Update Rom With Rom Update Utiliy This Error Appear.

Go through the Rom upgrading guide.Read thoroughly and follow every step carefully.there is a difference between Old Gene and New Gene.You will learn as you follow the guide as to which one is yours.Also to avoid invalid update tool errors,make sure your device is properly synced to yur computer.In your cas as the device is fully dead.Perform a Hard Reset.Even if that doesnt work,you have to use JTAG method to get back your Gene.
So follow the Guide and you'll do good.Revert back when your problem is solved.And do not Create New Threads unnecessarily.Post your doubts in the respective threads.

I follow the guide and Upgrade my SPL Olipro to Orefkov's.
PHP:
Step 5: Use the Orefkov Unlocker
------------------------------------
1. Remove the battery, SIM card and SD Card of your phone and press the Power key for 20 seconds to draw out any residual power from the phone.
2. Replace the battery but not the SIM and SD card, and don't start the phone yet. Press and hold the Camera button and then press the Power button or Soft Reset button. Phone will come to boot loader mode (tricolor screen) and SPL 1.10.Olip will be displayed.
3. Connect the USB cable. The text USB will appear on the bottom of the screen.
4. On PC, go to the folder Orefkov in the folder extracted in step 1 and run the Mtty1_42.exe. Press the button "USB" in the window that opened.
5. In the window that opened, type the following command (don't use copy paste please) and press enter:

set 32 1
You'll see a response from phone.
6. Type the following command BUT DON'T PRESS ENTER YET:

ls boot.bin
Note : that is small L and small s in that command, dont mistake it with I.
Now, hold down the Camera button on phone, and press the enter key on computer. After a while, the screen will become White. Continue pressing the Camera button for 10 more seconds.
7. Now release the camera button, close the MTTY program and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe in the same folder, not the one outside it. That one is for RAM flashing that we will use later. Check the boxes in each step and click Next Next and then at last Update. Let it finish the process. Your phone will restart.
8. Now on the splash screen you'll see the info with updated SPL version. The version of SPL will be 1.07.Oref.
Congrats! you have successfully patched your SPL.

Now let the phone boot once and then shutdown it. Insert your SIM card, but not the SD card. Go to the PC and copy the ROM file (it must be names RUU_Signed.nbh. Rename it if it has some other name.) into the ROM Update Utility folder that is outside the Orefkov and SPL Patcher folder.
Now press and hold the camera button and start your phone to go into the Boot loader mode once again.
Now Run the RomUpdateUtility.exe and follow her instructions. Please make sure that you are not running RomUpdateUtility inside the Orefkov folder in SPL Updater folder. You must use the one outside, in the RomUpdateUtility folder. Your phone will automatically go into bootloader mode and a progress bar will be displayed on both phone and PC. Once it completes, your phone will restart again and you'll get the phone with the brand new ROM.
But Mine is Still Dead When i Press Power Button only redlight blink.
also it can go to bootloader when i press power + camera key.
i have sucessfully update my rom but now phone still dead

Hi Friend i have the same problem
I successfully go to the (3. Connect the USB cable. The text USB will appear on the bottom of the screen.) after that when touch the usb text on my mobile it not responding & the Mtty1_42.exe programe the window will open but i cannot write any thing. please help me .
Make sure that you have removed SIM card and Storage card and try to connect it again.Then run mtty1_42.exe and select USB in the port then press OK.Hope this will help you.

I already remove my sim & storage card but now i can not switch on my phone / When i Press Power Button only redlight blink. also it can go to bootloader when i press power + camera key.

when i chose USB button of mobile it is not responding & I can not write any thing in mttyy1_42 programe.
to be able to do the command in the MTTY programe, for the first you should disable activesync -> connection settings -> uncheck "allow USB connections"

Thank you friend i already done it, when conect the phone to computer through USB ,In a corner position of the phone USB is written, but when i open the MTTY program it open & shows the Port option to chose , but it is not showing the USB option in that option.

If it does not exist, You can add it by typing USB on port column option

I add it but i got this " \\.\WCEUSBSH001 port can not open" Error Message.
(If Any thing i have to do after connecting USB Cable to phone to PC)

My screen shows Tri color
ONBL 1.17.000
SPL 1.10.0lip
IT SHOWS "USB" AT LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN
I used mtty1_42.exe and wrote "USB", it gives an error //:/WCEUSBSHOO1
MY PHONE IS DEAD, CAN I BRING IT TO NORMAL POSITION
WHAT SHALL I DO. PLZ HELP ME OUT PLZ

in your task manager, if u see a file called wescecom.exe deleted it.
Then reopen the MTTY tool and follow the steps in the guide.

if your os is windows xp,
1.then you must firstly end task wescecom.exe
2.connect your phone in bootloading mode (camera button + power button)
3.then open mtty tool, a window will open,
4.there from the dropdown of COM1 you must select USB then start the tool
5.in the window that open type set 32 1 & press enter (Dont copy)
6.you'll see a response on the mtty, then type ls boot.bin BUT DO NOT PRESS ENTER(see that ls is not IS, it is L S) and hold camera button then press enter.
7.Phone will become white on the screen & continue pressing camera button (for 10 more sec)
8.realese pressing camera button close the mtty and open the ROMUpdateUtility.exe on the orefkov folder itself and continue the process by checking all boxes.
9.Your phone will restart and will boot with windows 6.0 and then follow step 6

Tell Me if its windows 7 or vista because these os will not allow activesync to be installed on your system and you will not see the usb from the dropdown
