I have a similar problem with my S/N, from spain, Our dealer (Vodafone), sold us 3 Niki, and i couldn't registry any of them, always says "Incorrect S/N", i asked to our dealer, but has no idea...
btw, in HTC spain that upgrade isn't offered...

But I have a real NIKI100 Touch Dual bought here in Italy....
My S/N is HT745GC*****
Downloading on HTC Homepage only possible with original HTC Devices.
Downlaoding with Provider Devices (Vodafone, T-Mobile, O2, TiM, ....) is not possible.
HTC accepts only Real HTC Device S/N's. Provider Devices have other S/N's so no chance for downloading. :-(
I have spanish real htc but when i try to donwload the rom "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device" too.
I have a unbranded NIKI100 WWE and it still does not work
I signed into HTC E-club to see if it made a difference and it does not. I get the "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device. " message.
I beleive the ROM is not available yet, and this may be a placeholder or temporarily locked for everyone. HTC may be getting ready for a mass update for when it actually goes live; the Touch Cruise and Touch GSM both have this ROM update with the same posting date. I would asume they are getting ready for the long awaited WM6.1 update for multiple devices and will flick the switch all at the same time.
Off the message boards of HTCClassAction.org:
"Many MSM7x00 based HTC devices have not had an official WM 6.1 upgrade yet. Rumor is they will be coming for a bunch of these in August / September."
This is just my speculation.

I have both the tri-band dual (NIKI100) and the US quad band (NEON300), and neither serial number is working...same error (not suitable for my device). has anyone had any luck?

I have a Vodafone V1605 and it comes in English lenguage.
I want to upgrade to a Spanish ROM (hopely the last ROM) but I don't now how to do it or where to find the correct executable ROM file.
My PDA Phone is SIM Free and I'm affraid if the new ROM could change it, Is it possible?

Currently Vodafone Spain has not released any rom upgrade yet, and there's no other ROM upgrade available in spanish.

Perhaps they haven't any published ROM, but It may be anyone becouse Vodafone sell this PDA Phone here in Spain.
I tryed to upgrade with an i-Mate spanish ROM (JAM_ESP_11203_159_11210_ship.exe) but an error occurs. Something like "Wrong country".
How can I solve this problem?
In addition, the bluetoth has not the "OBEX" service, so I can't send any stored item. Could this function be 'unlocked'?

I know, I'm Spanish too, but vodafone Spain has still not published ROM upgrades. VF Spain ROM upgrades will come in the future I guess....

BE CAREFUL!!! You were trying to flash a Jam ROM, imate Jam is HTC Wizard, not HTC Hermes, you should flash "JasJam" ROMs but not "Jam" ROMs. Luckily it did not flash, otherwise you could have bricked your unit!
For now just be patient, when a ROM upgrade is available in Spanish we will publish it on the shipped ROMs wiki page.

i own a t-mobile(ger)-ameo, but my s/n will not accept from t-mobile(ger), because the s/n is not valid, and not on the htc-page, because the device is no htc-device.

I just got my ameo a week ago and already upgraded to wm6 through that link
t-mob alos updated a ton of other handsets FINALLY
including the vario II to wm6 , and a newer wm5 for the universal
BTW NOTE TO THOSE THAT USE REMOTE DESKTOP
UK T-Mobile firmware for WM6 appears to have it MISSING, i even tried hard reset and let it configure again and thought even the missing icon problem that was still present even in wm6 ( icons go AWOL) was the cause. it's not i had to actually install it from scratch ( there's a cab on this forum under i think it was development and hacking, just search for it )

Careful - technically you need a serial number to download the Tmob ROM so this may count as warez.
Could a moderator please ponder this point.

nope all there but i noticed they left out remote desktop client which i got else where
and it works awsome as i now can remote to my vista pc. 2 trys on that though cause the jasjamming version would transmit the keyboard strokes only mouse movement and actions

i can can confirm all went fine.
i have an unlocked htc orange 6500 that had been unlocked and all is still working fine.
(bizarely htc website said there rom upgade wasn't for my phone yet it was for clearly to upgade from 6.0-which i was-to 6.1-which i needed)

not sure what you mean.....there is a square orange logo in the middle of the screen as it "boots up"
after that its just wm 6.1...no branding or banners etc on screen at all

yes ttiittii that was the web address i was using to get a htc rom upgrade and like you my serial number was a HT820Gxxxxxxx
and it just says "not for you" rather annoying seeing as its a htc phone with just a tiny orange logo on the back.
but i have to say the 6.1 upgrade i got from orange is brilliant...stuff i use for work is loads faster and the bluetooth hands free is now problem free.
it just seems to be wm6.1...i can't find any "orange introduced" stuff on the pda at all...you know like o2 sticks o2 active on and crappy o2 logo's in the title bar that you can't seem to shift...thats nothing at all

i am going cook a rom that your guys provided, however, i have also wanted to keep the warranty.
i read 'how to dump rom' and get a bit understand of using elf tools, but i have a question that?
does elf / elfin tools can work on touch 2?
if not, anyone can give me the right tutorial links for touch 2 rom backup and making .nbh, these are for the warranty in case.

BT A2DP issues
Hi, I installed WWE europe over the weekend but I seem to have a problem with the BT audio streaming.
I use a FM Parrot PMK5800 handsfree car kit to stream my music to my car radio. This has been working fine for the past years with other WM phones. However the music from the HTC Touch 2 is very noisy and blurry. I tried HTC and WMP players and both give same distortions. I also noticed that increasing the volume using either player volume or HTC volume control does not get through to my car radio while connected through my Parrot.
using the Touch 2 "offline" works fine for the player volume control and there is no noticable noise also.
Is this HTC Touch 2 BT error !?
Or can it be ROM specific?
anybody any ideas?

have a touch 2 (UK phone). has T mobile branded ROM but have O2 sim now. although fone accepts O2 sim, the preconfigured GPRS settings are t mobile so cannot connect to 02. downloaded europe ROM to reflash but will not load. gives error 294 invalid vendor ID. Also tried the RUU zip file i found. that dont work either.
Any advice?. Love HTC phones. Bought touch 2 when my TYTN II died :-(. paid £230 for a a phone i cannot access internet on. Gutted.
Someone help or i'll have to sell the phone (new out of box) and be forced to use a motorola. Please dont do that to me!

got the same issue, desparate for a fix. huge pain as this was a replacement phone and i cant afford another. hopefully someone can help

Guys, you cant put any original HTC ROM on your branded phones, cause service providers take the phones from HTC and make changes to the ROM, which is currently locked, i mailed HTC and they said for updates or new ROMs contact your service provider.
