I have 2 questions about my Mogul.
1- Is it possiable to change the default web browser to something other then PIE? for instance if i click on a link in my email i would like it to open in Opera Mini-Java, can taht be done? Or at least done in some other browser?
2 - Can i get Sprint TV on my phone yet? I know it was out there for a while as i had it, then it was deactivated. It is part of my plan and i would like to use it if i can. But i'm using DCD's latest ROM which doesn't have it, if it is possiable can someone package (or point me to) an installer?
And a shout out to all of you guys who do this stuff for beer and such these mod's are so amazing!

I don't know if this file will help or not.
If you upgrade to the latest official Sprint ROM, you will get SprintTV included/installed along with it.
You can find the latest official ROM here:

As far as using another browser as your default, I'm afraid I just put up with PIE and have never looked at switching. I presume it is a registry setting.
Try looking at:
HKEY_Classes_Root\http\Shell\Open\Command and change the default value to your preferred browser. Like I said, I've never done it, but it makes sense to me.

And that's how I got the cab. After installing the rom... clicking on Sprint TV... brought the dialog for the CAB file. LOL
there's a thread on the development and hacking page called jzsmartmort. it'll allow you to change your default browser to whatever you want (opera mini, skyfire etc). its worked for me, and pretty simple to do. install a cab and click the option you like within the jzsmartmort prog.

It looks like there are a huge number of "mime" types in the HKCR branch like \HKCR\http\Shell\Open\Command that points to IE. So you would have to change all these to point to Opera and cross your fingers it works.

Or you could just use my Opera Mini or Java Pack located in my signature.

I believe it is the right key. My pda opens up in opera mobile 8.65 when I follow email links. I didn't know how it knew to do that. Checking this key shows that it is set to
"\Program Files\Opera\OperaLaunch.exe" %1

GC's installer worked perfect as well as the installer for the Sprint TV, infact i'm watching it now, now if i could just get the audio from Sprint TV to go through my Bluetooth headset i'd be set!

You might try BTaudio. I have used it to send audio from wm player to my headset. I don't know why it wouldn't work for TV as well.

The quality of sound is horrible but it will work for TV also....

i have been tryin to read everything i can to understand these phones..... this is my first PPC and i have had it about a month. i just figured out the compact framework to 3.5 to get other apps. so please dont flame
on to my question.... i just downloaded the pandora cab from the software thread and everyone is sayin its not a VGA version.....not to sure on that. when i opened the app everything is super small and the pictures are all out of place. am i doin everything right here???

A couple things...
The radio version of your phone (GSM vs CDMA) has nothing to do with the Pandora ap.
Secondly, what everyone is telling you about it not being VGA is correct. That's why the pictures are small and screwy.
That is as good as it gets until they decide to fix it... at least it still works.

It depends on what the application does.
Think of it this way...
Your phone is like a Dell Computer running XP.
Any program designed to run on XP will work, but if the program is strictly for Dell Computers, it will only work if you have a Dell.
CDMA or GSM is like the Dell Computer part of it.
Any application that is designed to run on a PPC/WinMobile will work on your phone.
But if the application is designed for a specific brand... like unlocking the GPS feature on a VZW Touch Pro, or a custom ROM for the ATT Fuze, you don't even think about running it unless you've got that exact model or you're willing to brick your phone.

Does the whole song play and if so, please share the version of Pandora you are running and if you have loaded any programs on your phone besides this or not.
Lots of us are having issues with it only playing partial songs and then skipping to the next track.

I could not find a thread with a working solution. After hours of testing and reading I have a working solution for AT&T CV Videos, Mobitv, Media Net and Media Mall on custom roms. I have not tested on none AT&T phones but it should still work.
1 Install custom rom
2 Install opera.ini to \windows\opera9 or \Application Data\opera9

3 Go to start\settings\systems\about\device id. Change device name to HTC_P4600
4 Soft reset
Go to cingularvideo.cingular.com and try watching a video. Media Net and Media Mall works as well for downloading games, ringtones and more. If you use mobitv then go to http://www.mobitv.com/supporteddevices/unitedstates_mobile_at&t_mobitv.php# and put in your mobile phone # to get new version.
Note: Some roms do not work. Htc streaming media will fail to play video (File re-entry error). Patch is posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3236379&postcount=1584 Thank you NotATreoFan for fixing the cab.
You mentioned on Rup's thread that you got CV to play using his 4.3 rom- is that correct. I have stayed with his v3.3 rom because I have almost no issues with it. The only one being that I have never been able to get CV to work again.

Use the steps above then install this and soft reset. You can use media net and mobitv again 2.

You can use zoom to make the screen fit with non fullcreen veiw. Go to the menu in htc streaming media. Choose zoom\zoom in. Do that 2 times and it will fix the size. Im glad it worked for you.

I don't know if this helps but I went to the internet proxy settings and put in the following:
wireless.cingular.com
saved setting and Media Net worked...but 1 problem came up:
I lost between 500-600 kbits in speed. I was getting 1800-2000 kbits on my Fuze before and then after I was only getting 1300 to 1400. My guess is that going through the proxy slowed me down.

I dont use those internet proxy setting. If I do my speed drops in half. Why use it? I can use Media Net with the settigs from my first post.

I don't use Cingular Video a ton, but I used it some, and I always want all my options available.

I just ran across an interesting piece of info- This might be of benifit. This is from this page. http://www.wmexperts.com/articles/howto/how_to_make_your_fuze_bloatfre.html
Here's how to get Cingular Video working in Opera again:
In Opera, enter "opera:config" as the URL.
Scroll down, expand Proxy, and for the HTTP and HTTPS Servers, enter "wireless.cingular.com:80" and check Use HTTP and HTTPS.
Scroll down to User Prefs, and for Customer User-Agent, enter: "HTC-P4600/1.2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)"
That seems to do it. For PIE, I think the CAB in the Windows folder called "restoreHiddenProxy4CWS.cab" is supposed to fix it. For me, it makes device.home work (whoopty do!) but the cingular video pages come up as XML code.
Update- I tried changing these settings by themselves to no avail. What is posted on the first page ot this thread works. Sorry didn't mean to add confusion.

Very good work body. I see that some people here mentioned they are using RRE's ROMs. Since RRE's is a FUZE ROM and the majority are AT&T costumers. Maybe it should be a good idea to ask "arupp" to have a link on his first post to this one, I asure you it will help a lot and save people a lot of time.
PD: not only for RRE's but all others creating FUZE ROMs.
Control Graphics off
I installed the .cab fix for CV that you have in your third post and it made it work... but the only problem I have is that the controls graphics of the player are messed up. I attached a screenshot.
Step 3 isn't needed. That's just what the default Fuze is set at. You can change it to whatever you want. The important stuff is the proxy settings and the user agent. That's the only thing AT&T's servers can read, and thus the only settings needed.
As a demonstration, if you have firefox, you can set the proxy to wireless.cingular.com and the user agent to HTC-P4600/1.2 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en) and browse MediaNet and watch CV.
The file in post 3 is for roms that get file re-entry error while trying to play cv videos with htc streaming media. If you do not get a error do not use cab from post 3. The menu is weird after cab install. I am working on a fix.

Yes sir. I got that error, That's why I had to install the .cab from post 3 and it made it work, but the prob I have is the graphics issue mentioned before....

Build 20771, TP2 TF3D and some other Rhodium apps. Can you please test Data, activesync, bluetooth, GPS and other basic functions. Please report back even if nothing is found.

A newer build...just want to make sure it is ready for general relase.
Installed, so far data and activesync look the goods. Ill test GPS etc over my lunch break.
Some different program icons...what do you think?
Same for me... Data, activesync, and basic functionality looking good so far. A couple of big pluses for me - memory use is only about 33%. It was above 50% on NRG's rom with TF3D 2 (that's not meant as any kind of negative towards NRG, I love his newest rom too, just a comment). And Weather Watcher works correctly. On all other cooked roms I've tried Weather Watcher appears "zoomed out".

I just flashed with this rom and checked the date. It said rom date is 03/14/09 was wondering maybe you just forgot to change the date?

A small problem (with a solution). You can't add file explorer as a favorite anywhere in the first two rows of favorites. Or more acurately, you can add it, but it won't launch. The solution is explained in post #500 here:

Go to tools...and in there is a nifty little app to change it.
Not sure what you mean how it works. I believe it is there for apps that use so they can auto rotate.

Regarding the GSensor thing, I was expecting "it is there for apps that use so they can auto rotate" but it is not working for all of the apps. it works for the calculator program but so far calculator is the only program that rotates as it should. I wish my Garmin XT would rotate .. is there any whitelist thing where I need to enter the information of Garmin XT ?
I will keep on testing this ROM and update.

You can use the G-Config program to add programs to the whitelist, available here. Makes adding applications a breeze, hit add new app, open the app and put the stylus in and reset. Works real nice with tf3d too

First impressions, very fast, quickly syncing with my Exchange, no flaws found im my first couple of minutes playing with it.
Was hoping to see the new start menu (the unpopular one, is seems, but the new one) and it wasn't there...is there a fix or cab to have that?

His site is public. If he doesn't want to share it, then he needs to change the website/ftp settings. As far as I know, he hasn't officially "released" it yet. No announcements from him. I tried it, but the mobile internet wasn't working consistently, so I had to go back to mightyrom.
ROM is very fast and stable and data worked fine for me on Sprint. However, the phone would not ring on incoming calls. I checked all the settings I could think of and vibrate works fine but no ring. Flashing to another ROM only because of that. Bummer...
for some strange reason my data goes in and out. i can't seem to track down the cause yet. i'll mess around with it some more. also DCD is using a different build of opera mobile then i'm used to. i just loaded up the newest build i could find and all was well

Just my 2 cents so here we go.
I would like to see the this rom include:
1. Full qwerty keyboard.
2. Ability to turn of flashing light on new txt, email, etc.
3. Random access added
4. On people tab add ability to contact via txt, email or call as only has ability to call now! BOO
5. When viewing txt, email, etc. from said tab, mark items as read removing new count number, without having to launch said app.

there are (I think) two apps that are vital for this rom to work great: HTC task manager and GfxBoost. Anyone interested in this rom should us these.
very fast rom...i think faster than yay4jugg which i was using for a few months now.
just needs pagepool changed
opera is set as default. how do i disable it or remove opera.
also noticable fast battery drain.
works on sprint. just need the sprint cab.

This is not at popular as the thread over on ppcgeeks, but there still might be some people that have not seen this yet and that would be a shame.
DCD just posted 1.09. i'm running 1.08 and it's one of the best Pro roms out there. give it a try.

My stock rom came with a XM Radio application, that when searching, I can only purchase it. Is there a way I can flash to stock ATT rom, then back that application up, and reflash? Also, where would I find stock ATT fuze rom that has the APP? I found one, but it had no APP. Or, does anyone happen to have a .cab for the XM application?
It is a perilous journey, and one must seek the guidance of a skilled master in the art of .CAB'ing. As one often must go where no man/woman have gone before - to boldy .CAB where no .CAB ... ok I'm getting carried away.
That said, are you sure that the version on the AT&T ROM is unlimited? For some reason, I seem to recall seeing that it had an expiration (time limit).
Loved to be proved wrong on this one and on Shazam MusicID.

I'm with hilaireg on this one - I don't think it's a free app. But it does come in the ROM as a cab, so I can upload it for you if you want to try it.

Cheers mate, maybe you can also love my question on how to add more icons to my home screen? Like how tomtom added itself? I'd like to throw a SMS on icon on there, and maybe GPS, etc. Or icons on any other screen for that matter, the other tom tom icon is half off the screen, I would like to put it under utilities or something... how can I do all this?
Bleh, I know somewhere i found a place to add/remove a very limited amount of things to the home screen, but I maybe became blind, or it's gone.

If you're referring to the ROM in your sig, i'd suggest posting the question in that ROM thread.
Also, it would be helpful to forum searchers/readers if you could change the subject of the first post to something like:
"XM Radio application from ROM"
