Please dump SPL - HTC Monet

Is there interest to run cooked roms on this phone?
If there is, I can develop a USPL.
I need the original SPL first. Please can someone dump it using the attached SPL backup kit. Connect your phone and make sure activesync is ready syncing (green). Then run the file monet-backup.bat. It will attempt to application unlock your phone. Ignore the prompt to restart your phone, just click it away. It will create a subdirectory "4" in which you find a few dumped files. Please zip it and attach here. Thanks!

I upload
The hope can sooner see Lobster ROM !!!

Thanks for posting your dumps guys. Unfortunately the dumps do not include the full SPL. An intermediate step must be carried out to find the proper address. Please run the attached batch file "memorymap.bat" it generates a memory map. Post the file "memmap-lobster.txt" here. Note: you must have a activesync connection via usb cable before running memorymap.bat.

Trouble extracting imgfs from Cingular 8525 dumped ROMs

I seem to have successfully dumped my Cingular 8525 ROM, and placed it on the FTP area ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Hermes/Dumped_ROMs/ (directly as ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/HTC_TyTn_Cingular8525_CWS_1_34_502_1_WWE.zip) but when I try to extract the imgfs I get lots of decomp errors and it seems that compressed files do NOT get uncompressed....
Is there something different in these newer ROMs or am I just being stupid or ????
TIA,
Richard
Moved the dump to safe heaven.
I haven't download your files to see if I can extract them, but if you not succeed with itsme rdmsflsh.pl you can also use mamaich rom editing tools, viewimgfs.exe with "part_02.raw". See if it makes any difference

It worked a little better, or at least differently.... I forgot to mention I tried that as well. Much harder to deal with the files being each in subdirectories The filesizes extracted still didn't match those reported on the device itself though, so I'm not convinced I'm getting a good extraction.
Results are on my work machine, I'll have to login there and see if I can post some specifics....

DOH! User error.... Remote Desktop to my work machine slowed things down enough that I could see errors about not being able to load dlls.... seems the ActiveState Perl 5.8 install insists on installing to "site" vs "perl" but doesn't add "site" to the path, so Windoze couldn't load the necessary dlls.
I just copied them into my working directory for now and am re-running the extraction....looks much better already!
Richard
ok, can you add a warning to the wiki with this info ? thanks

Yep, I already noted one needs v5.8, I should really clean this up and find the right fix, but I'll note the path problem at least and maybe someone else will do it "right" later

do it yourself please, i have no time now... leaving to France in a few hours.

Ok, pretty confused here. One example:
bthasplugin.dll
Exploring the device via ActiveSync shows a filesize of 17560 but the size shown on my PC of the extracted version is 18944. Spot checking a few other files show similar size disparities.... is this normal? Why?
Richard
Not sure, but probably the difference is because file size (byte count) is different than size on disk (amount of clusters the file takes).

StarTrek bootloader

continue of this thread.
Did you rename the file and to what? Do you use it with any of the VOX_USPL zip files I posted? Have you taken out your memory card? Have you made sure you don't autostart programs? Have you tried the VOX_USPL which works on Vox (uspl_jockyw.bat), of course rename the file accordingly?

I used your last version of VOX_USPL.zip (671kb)
Now, made a full app/registry unlock, renamed my splitted spl to SPL116.nb, removed a MicroSD card, launched a uspl_116_jockyw.bat, and followed instructions - pinguin->white screen->reboot (and turn off in certain cases)
The device is undiscoverable for Windows PC (mtty and ruu aren't discover an usb port/device)
btw, i also tried an early version of VOX_SPL (721 kb) too
Have you made sure you don't autostart programs?

Hm? I have a SmartFilter, ClockOnTop, BatteryGauge, and xBar in autostart
ps. but also tried with a clean device (after hard reset and app unlocked)
pps. Can you explain why we must take out a memory card?
Try the later version of the VOX USPL (671Kb):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=47865&d=1187847514
Run uspl_116_jockyw.bat and no need for pressing any buttons on your device. Run it with the original Vox files and also try it with the stripped StarTrek SPL and rename it to USPL116.nb
You should boot your device w/o SD card and w/o starting up any programs. Just run uspl_116_jockyw.bat when your device is fully booted. This is to ensure that WM can not pollute the memory at 0x8c000000
Where can I find some fact sheet on the StartTrek?

Well, then I'm afraid you're on your own.
Good luck!
PS: I did find a factsheet on the US HTC site. It has the same CPU as the VOX (TI OMAP 850)
there is a working softspl for startrek

That's excellent news! Thanks for the update Erofich!

Warning for all users

Please someone make sticky for a while, and ROM cockers please add a link at the first of your threads.
After this problem with Jeff, I think it will be necessary to back up you CID and GSM data using itutils tool I'll attach them with the BAT file for back up and restore
You have nothing to lose except 320 kb in your hard disk, cause these data only can be found on your phone, if you lost then they can't be restored by flashing the original ROM.
Backup.bat you will have 2 file (cid.bin, gsm.bin) save them in your hard disk, you don’t know, you will need them someday
Restore.bat for restoring them
off course connect ActiveSync first, u can connect via blutooth wifi infrered or usb
I have nothing to gain except your phone for yourself
Cheers,
best regards
um... too hard for me to understand hehehe
but Big Thankx anyway
Only one
Hello Chopin , thank's for the advice.

am i out of danger now?
thx
inteks
just backup your data you have nothing to lose
this happned to Jeff do to high voltage, and it can be happened anytime, even if you already hard SPL
if you have 320kb free space, why you don;t do it?
for safety..
I created my backups..
Thx Chopin..
I have a question..
Is it possible to restore my backups to another same device and it is cloning?
Hi,my device is G4(Via Hard SPL),i click the backup.bat but i did not get gsm.bin and cid.bin.

Hi,
Just a quick one.
Everytime I download the ZIp and try to use it I am informed it is corrupt - is this just me (2 seperate machines tried) ??
Regards
Radar
Thanks Chopin Great job
oh... this could be great
thanks
@radar,
download the file, then change the extension from .zip to .rar
You can then access the files
OK, just run it, got a 16kb gsm.bin file, and a 256kb cid.bin file.
I had to run the backup.bat file TWICE, though.
(on a prophet g4, original - for now! - ROM)
newbie need help!
thx for the tool chopin, u r the great, by the way can u give us tutorial on how to backup or restore?

[WVGA] Jmz Manila Playlist Backup V1

Jmz Manila Playlist Backup V1
This is my latest project. Manila playlist backup. It was tested with Sprint stock Manila 2.5. Please let me know if there are any incompatibilities with other versions.
You must end the process Audiomanager_eng.exe and disable manila for this to work. Still researching on how to kill those two automatically. Should work perfectly after that.
If you have any issues please post at the forum you came from. This is only an EXT for now as I cannot create cabs at the moment. Feel free to create one and post it.
Thanks goes to michyprima for his manila sdk.

the reason for that is that audiomanager_eng.exe was not ended, and manila wasn't disabled. You must manually do both for the current version of this app
Ok, i will test it again and report later. Thanks for the advise.

Restored successfully after initially receiving NetCF 3.5 error.

To the developer / OP...
I had to have my phone replaced.
I ran the backup just fine on my old phone.
I went to run the restore on my new phone and I just get an error msg (see screen shot).
I have Sense turned off and have confirmed that that audio manager process is not running.
Please help!
