I would appreciate a lot if you guys can give me some suggestion =) - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

I have owned the HTC tytn II before and i have bought the Touch Pro recently, I have browsed a lot of information on the forum and the only thing I've tried with my Kaiser was the Kaiser tweak.
There are a few questions i would like to ask if you guys can help me out
1. I am ordering the TP with 900/2100Mhz for WCDMA, I am currently studying in the US and will be moving to Hong Kong shortly, I wonder if 3G will work fine in HongKong?
2. Since i am from Hong Kong, sometimes i do use Chinese for various things and I would like Chinese to be supported by the phone as well. What is the best way to do it? I tried CE-star with kaiser with yahei.cab and it worked fairly well, but the music player from the touchflo interface can't recognize any of the Chinese song name at all. On the other side, i am looking at the possibility of installing Chinese Rom in the TP so i will be able to get Chinese support by the phone natively. On the other side, i really would like to have a English interface so is it possible to cook the ROM in the way that it is English UI and it supports Chinese at the same time?
Thank you for all you guys help. I have been browsing for a lot of stuff on this forum, but i really can't seem to find a solution for the 2nd question.

Check out this thread for ways to get Chinese support. The easiest way i would see it is that you install a Chinese ROM and have built-in support for it.

Which thread?

Ah, sorry about that, forgot to link that thread. Here it is.

Thanks a lot, that actually looks great to me!
By the way, a third question comes to my mind, is there a way to create a custom input method for Windows Mobile?
I would like to create a input for Windows Mobile such that inputing specific sequence of letters will give out specific list of words which i can choose from...using the keyboard
I am looking at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb158689.aspx but i have no idea what it is trying to say

There is no WCDMA 900/2100 network in the US, but you can still use the phone on regular GSM networks (AT&T or T-mobile).
I don't know the details but you should be able to use WCDMA 2100mhz in Hong Kong (3, CSL, PCCW, Smartone):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Deployed_UMTS_networks#Asia
However there has been some talk about China shutting down WCDMA networks to replace with its own TD-SCDMA networks, so there could be some problems.
For the MP3s, make sure they are properly tagged; Most PC software can read non-English tags even if they are encoded improperly, but the TouchFlo3D player is picky. The easiest way is to use ID3v2.4 tags with UTF-8 characters. A program like Tag&Rename will update all of your MP3s to use ID3v2.4 + UTF-8.

There is a little update to my current problem =) Just got my Touch Pro today and tried various things...
Displaying of Chinese is easy to be solved, basically various cabs can do the trick.
Inputting Chinese, however, is pain in my a$$
I've tried to install the hand writing way of inputting Chinese by different methods.
1.) When i used CE-star, everything worked, but when i use the TP with keyboard, all words mess up and i can't see anything i typed...(although it will show up again when the keyboard is closed...)
2.) When i tried the other cabs recommended in this thread, the Chinese input only work when installation of complete install of the input method, which means i cannot choose only the handwriting input. I will have to also add that if the handwriting input is chosen as default, it will crash the system and i will have to do a hard reset.
On the other side, if the complete install happened, i cannot type english thru my keyboard(not even numbers...)
Is there anyone who can help me with this?

Writing in Czech

I would like to write a message in Czech.
If I create a new email and then on the Edit menu choose Language then Central European I still get the Western European keyboard. I would expect to get a Central European keyboard. Even if I choose Cyrillic I get the Western European keyboard.
I can go to Start/Settings/System/Regional Settings and choose Czech and Pocket Outlook will display the month names in Czech but I still don't get a Central European keyboard.
Anyone know a solution?
2 things:
1. On a PC with a basic installation I only get the support for the locale selected. If I then want to write in Russian or Chinese I have to insert the installation disk to get other language support. It seems reasonable that Microsoft will not include every language in the PPC ROM where space is at a premium even though there is support in the applications for more than one language. There must be a CAB file somewhere that provides different keyboard layouts/character maps.
2. In the Czech Republic T-Mobile(your cash away) sell the XDAII as an MDAII and they have a different keyboard for inputting Czech characters. It seems to me that the ROM for the MDA includes the Central European language pack that isn't included in the XDA.
So 2 more questions
1. Is there a place to download a CAB containing the Central European keyboard etc?
2. If not 1 above. Does anyone have access to the individual CABs in the MDA ROM that contains the Central European keyboard? And can they send it to me
i think that language changes needs a new rom
I could get the T-Mobile Czech ROM from somewhere(?) and install it on the ppc but i don't want that. I only want to use a different keyboard.
I know there are products that can do this and I don't mind buying software but I do mind paying $25 for a piece of software that only does what the operating system should do.
Would anyone buy other versions of Windows if they only allowed input in the local language? If you bought a pc in Russia how could you post to this list?
What exactly is the change language option in the ms ppc products supposed to do if it doesn't change the input character set?
People!
What are you talking about?! No ROM change is needed - all you need is czech "input mehod" - keyboard! It is included on the CD the machine was packed with, called czech Language Extender and actually only adds the keyboard - the rest is preinstalled. If you are interested, I can try to find the CD on my shelf... :?
Concerning the ROM reinstall, it won't help - czech ROM is marked ENG! The only difference is the CD.
PS: I never tried to send SMS in Czech, bu it definitely works on the internet.
i must have pressed a wrong button somewhere cos my post didn't turn up.
that is great news. but i don't have anything like that on my CD. could you post it? is it a cab? is it easy to install? a beer or 2 if you can
I found the CD and will try to do something with it. It is a 5.5Mb executable, Czech or English.
We'll see...
looks promising but it wants a serial number.
any chance of posting one? 8)
Very sorry, my network went down yesterday.
I'll have a look at the serial when I come home. I installed it somehow so I must have it!
Here you go:
MORAA000-0000007425-56698-0703 :!:
now it should work!
Thanks Bob but that is a bit more than i needed
I now have a variagated ppc. Half o2 and half T-Mobile. Although i do have a Czech keyboard
Even installing the minimum of the Leng it adds a lot of T-Mobile stuff and I can't seem to get back the o2 stuff.
I don't know why but it also removes all the connections. Even using the o2 Active connection setup causes the thing to hang after a reset.
It is a pity. But thanks again for your help.

[Q] Bought the P510e from Asia - Engish

Is it possible to change the region to USA to get English? The best that I can do is get Singapore English which is off some. Bought from vendor on Amazon and he was clueless where it was from.
If the language isn't there, its not there. The region is set in the ROM, so there is no way to change it, without being able to flash a new ROM. So your best hope is for the devs here to achieve S-Off and root, and then you can load any ROM on the Flyer you want.
Actually try this app, Localeswitch (yes with an e in between) I'm amazed not many people know about it!!

Have you actually tried it, and does it work? Meaning, does it allow display of languages not normally selectable on your device? The app description doesn't say much about what it actually does. If the language is not already in the ROM, I don't think this app is going to magically make it appear. But the question then is, are the languages already in the ROM, but just not normally selectable from Sense (hidden)?
It is possible.
Search Android Market for an App called "Set US". Install the App and Run it. The App will seem to do nothing for you but it resets the locale on your Flyer to US locale.
If your Flyer has a 3G SIM slot for insert the a T-mobile USA SIM that works before you perform the steps above as HTC uses SIM identity to determine the region of operation your HTC Flyer in parts.
Hence, if you a USA SIM inserted, your HTC Flyer default to showing prices in the market in US $. If you use a UK SIM, you will see it in British pounds, etc.
Hope that helps.

Japanese texts sent from SGSII and "readable" on other devices (iphone4 for example)

Japanese texts sent from SGSII and "readable" on other devices (iphone4 for example)
Hi all,
So here is my problem. I'm running on Cognition 1.5 and since I do not have japanese nor french on this ROM I decided to download smart keyboard.
However most of my japanese friends use devices such as iphones (yeah nobody is perfect ) and when I try to send them texts, they see "question marks" whereas I can read perfectly the texts they send me in japanese.
Since Iphone has japanese in native language and after having tested different applications other than smart keyboard, it is highly likely that the "problem" is coming from my system.
So I had a look at the thread listing official firmwares.
And it seems that, as it is said in the thread, CSC DOES have nothing to do with the keyboards available (tried out of despair to flash the ones including DCM )
It indeed added japanese in the language settings, but did not add the japanese keyboard.
However I was wondering if texts typed via a third-party app like "smart keyboard" would be readable on other devices as long as "Japanese" is available in "language settings" and, if necessary, if I select it.
Thanks.
PS : I am sorry to create another thread about this issue, but all threads about this issue are obviously dead/unanswered and my problem is slightly different than the ones adressed in those threads.

what the text me

Can someone tell me what the following text in the image means or translate it for me? I don't have any Chinese apps installed. Everything is in English except this. Model #SM-G965F
Thanks
Where did you purchase your phone?
I've seen similar things from clone knockoff devices.
No I got it from parallel import, its a legal phone as I have registered with Samsung. I get all the updates and what not. Everything is English except for this app or whatever they are.
I cant find them in "Apps" menu but I was playing with bxmapper and at the bottom those shown up.
I would just flash english official rom.

Question K50G - Chinese language appearing in main apps

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but I couldn't find anything unfortunately. I was recently gifted a K50G (AMG Edition) which seems to be a nice upgrade from a Mi9T, however I've noticed despite changing the system language to English that certain bloatware apps from Xiaomi such as the main music app, browser etc are all in CHN language.
I'm aware that this is a Chinese phone rather than a global one so certain features maybe limited but I'm just wondering if there was a solution for this, or if any ROMs would be needed?
